The Ponies Of Moonstone Island

Like any other morning the dark blue stallion Midnight Star woke up, made a bowl of Derpy’s flammable cereal, brushed his light blue mane and started towards school. Not just any school the school, Celestia's school for gifted unicorns. Along the way he met with his friends Digital Copy and Rust Reel. Digital goes to a Canterlot Pegasus training camp with hopes of being a wonder bolt, while Rust Reel goes to school with Midnight. Of course, Rusty (as his friends call him) was an engineer, not an honors unicorn like himself.

When he got to school Celestia called for an assembly, strange he thought, Celestia usually doesn’t call for an assembly. It must be something important. He rushed to the assembly hall to see the big announcements. The hall was packed by the time Midnight had got there. Princess Celestia stood on a podium surrounded by royal guards. With a magically amplified voice she announced that each honor student would get a personal study trip to a surprise location. She then stated that they would get a scroll in the mail when their location was decided. Her last statement was that the day you receive your scroll that you had to register for transportation. With that she left the podium and returned to her classroom.

Finally, after long last Midnight Star would get to take a personal study trip. Celestia’s honor classroom was getting very cramped, with the many new recruits, and the boring group trips were hot and uncomfortable in that old stuffy train. He would finally get some excitement “an adventure“he thought to himself. Ponies might start noticing him, noticing that he had royal DNA; no pony ever noticed that he was royal, students occasionally saw how He looked a lot like Princess Luna but otherwise he had no recognition.

Midnight was quite a boring pony, but he always knew just what to talk about. He knew that this would come in handy when he went to a strange place with new ponies. When he woke up the next morning Midnight rushed to the mailbox to see if his location scroll had come and, to his surprise it had. As he looked at the chart to see where he would go he remembered that he had to sign up for the transportation, he quickly looked over the sheet. Looks like I’m going to Los Pegasus! Wow this sounds great he thought as he rushed to Celestia's School.

On the way he met up with Digital Copy and Rust Rack where they discussed what they were doing for school. It turns out that Digital Copy was going to Los Pegasus too; although Midnight could barely make out his words because Digital’s green eyes were glued to a video game. Midnight star asked him why he was going; Digital briefly looked up from his game to brag on how he got into the wonder bolt training camp. Digital wasn’t only a great flyer and phenomenal at video games the dark grey stallion was handy at machines too; he had made a contraption that allows him to walk and play his games at the same time. Rust Rack was exited because he got a trip to detrough the chariot capital of Equestria. Rusty loved to fix chariots. That was his favorite part of engineering

Midnight finally got to Celestia's school where he had to wait in a half hour line to get to the transportation forms. When he finally got to the front of the line the staff had to take a lunch break, at ten forty-five? They must have had an early breakfast thought Midnight impatiently. It was another half hour wait for the staff to come back from their “lunch break” he finally signed the form, but before returning home he took a quick stop to the newly unveiled library.

Taking some extra precautions his trip, he took some books that helped you find in food in the wild, what animals to watch out for, how to find shelter, and took some adventure books just for the balloon ride. He checked out the books, but before he could get to the middle of the hallway Midnight Star was blocked by Princess Celestia she said hello and asked him if he had signed the transportation form he told her yes and that he was very exited for his trip to Los Pegasus she nodded and went off to her duties. That was weird Midnight thought and walked out of the school.

Completely exhausted from waiting in line Midnight Star went home and had a usual lunch, his dandelion sandwich tasted better today because he felt like he was going to die of starvation. He read some of his most interesting books, and then met with Digital at a coffee shop to discuss what they were going to do in Los Pegasus.

Digital Copy really wanted to take a picture where it looked like he was holding the Pony wood sign. Midnight wanted to go to the griffon observatory, he had heard that you can see the constellation hydra at this time of year. They both decided it would be fun to go to the Los Pegasus zoo and out the Pony and an in wood stars hoof prints. Midnight wondered what he could possibly learn in Los Pegasus while Digital thought about how cool he would look in a wonder bolt costume of course after his trip to los Pegasus were he would train. They marked a map of Los Pegasus with the main attractions, and chose the hotel of their choice. They said good bye and went off into different directions

As soon as Midnight got home he sat down and watched a few episodes of my little human. As he thought to himself no pony could call him a filly for watching this, he was a proud being a coltman. He reheated last night’s dinner, a box of cheese stuffed mushrooms from his favorite restaurant; midnight ate his meal and fell asleep.

The next morning Midnight Star did what he does every morning wake up, eat cereal, bush his mane, and go out the door. But while he was locking the door he found a strange note, it read “turn back”. Midnight ignored it, thinking it was one of Digitals pranks, probably to scare him off so he wouldn’t go on the trip, and Digital would get all the glory and fame. But he was wrong, very wrong.
