Grasshopper Man: Golden Bird.
Several feet underground lay a laboratory, in the lab, there were several different types of machinery, some did one thing the other, another. The room was fairly lit, lit enough to see machinery, but not lit enough for the lights on the machines to not make an impression on the room. Suddenly, the sounds of machines powering down rang throughout the room, and a man in a lab coat sprinted into the room.
More specifically, he had black hair that stretched to his ears, emerald eyes that seemed to glow in the dark, and pink skin with freckles seemingly swarming his face. Lab goggles were above his eyes, seemingly signaling he was from the chemical department. He had a name tag that read, “Michael Bunker.” He ran towards a machine that has two giant glass cylinders beside it, with wires coming from the machine and onto the glass cylinders. The machine was big, ten feet tall and a door that was seemingly made to go into the machine.
Bunker quickly ran behind the colossal machine, a wall behind him, and was frantically searching for something behind it. There were numbers on the back of it, a screen above the numbers, to process the numbers and put them on the screen. He needed the password to unlock something, but what was it? Bunker shakily put in the numbers 62490, and the screen lit green.
“Password, identified.” The screen then went into the device and a hidden compartment revealed itself. The compartment held a battery, a singular battery that glowed blue, it had a large red X on the battery. Bunker reached toward the battery but it shocked him. He quickly pulled back and looked around for something, anything to help him get the battery, he then looked at the battery and sighed. He then reached for the battery and grabbed it, it began to shock him with volts of electricity, Bunker then pulled the battery out and he hit the wall that was behind him.
Bunker groaned, and he opened his eyes and looked at the burns on his body, he then lifted his right hand, and there it was. The X-Battery. Bunker’s mouth was numb so he couldn’t speak, so he just threw happy mumbles from his mouth. He then gets up, albeit slowly and clumsily runs out of the laboratory, and he begins to stumble his way down a corridor with multiple ways to leave it, but only one was right.
“Can’t… Let them destroy… The earth!” He said with a wheeze in his body as he made his way down the corridor. As Bunker stumbles down the hallway, he then turns to the right, where another corridor made itself noticed. Bunker slapped his face to keep himself conscious.
From the security room, a lazy pony was leaning back in a chair, taking a sip of coffee, before he saw Bunker walking down the hallway, concealing something. But when he walked by, the screen went all static, the pony then spits out his coffee before practically diving towards his phone and dialing a number.
"Sir, he stole it!" The Guard Pony said, a sigh escaping the phone.
"Mr. Bunker, I expected more from him. Fine, all hands on deck, do NOT let him escape, or you're fired, understood?" The voice rumbled in a calm manner, the Guard Pony was quivering at the force of the voice.
"U-Um, y-yes sir!" The Guard Pony said with a squeak.
"Good, good, now get to it." The voice on the other side of the phone hung up and the Guard Pony ran to the intercom.
"Attention, all officers in the building, Michael Bunker of the Mechanic Department on the South Quadrant has stolen the X-Battery..."
Bunker ran down the halls, finally able to run after his limbs recovered from the stunning shock. He clenched his teeth as he heard the intercom.
"...He is currently making way to the exit door on the West Side of the building next to the forbidden laboratory."
Bunker stopped in his place and began to think, 'Shit! If I go outside, police may as well be there to ambush me, but if I run back, they'll catch me. What do I do?' Bunker thought, clenching his teeth as he looked left to right and right to left. He then looked at the forbidden laboratory, but then turned to the storage unit. He ran inside and searched for a place to hide.
Bunker quickly discovered a hiding spot that was hidden away from any cameras, suddenly, the door opened. And came in two police officers with tasers and batons, Bunker nearly made a sound before he stopped himself.
"Alright, Bunker, we know you're here, you couldn't have gone anywhere but in here." One of the Officers said, one was female, the other was male, in this case, it was the female officer speaking.
"Yeah, come on out, we're friends, right? I mean, I gave you coffee that one time, the least you can do is show me your face." The Male Officer said in a manipulative and snidely manner, Bunker tucker his arms in his shirt then stuck his head in said shirt. He puts his phone on silent just as he gets a notification, he then begins to hack into the building's lights and quickly turns off the lights.
"What the heck? The lights are out." One of the Officers commented, clearly annoyed.
"No matter, we have flashlights!" The other Officer replied trying to turn on the flashlight, "Oh man..."
"Officer Wood, did you really forget to charge your flashlight?" The Female Officer grumbled.
"No! I grabbed the wrong one, that's all!" The Male Officer defended himself.
"Just get behind me," The Female Officer said.
"Don't mind if I do~." He purred before getting hit upside the head with a baton. "OW! What was that for?"
"You can harass me later, we have a criminal to catch." The Female Officer turned on her flashlight and began to look around, during the conversation, Bunker had managed to get in front of them. But don't worry, he has a plan.
Bunker held a metal rod in hand and a rock in the other, he then began to throw the rock just as they were about to turn a corner to another row. The duo got ready their batons. "Who was that?" One of them asked.
"He must be nearby, keep searching." The other responded, it was now Bunker's move, clinging to the shadows, he snuck behind them, and right behind the Male Officer. His goal was to hit the Female Officer, but he quickly changed plans when he realized it was too late to choose.
Bunker raised the metal rod high over his head and slammed it into the Male Officer's head, making a loud sound that made the Female Officer jump. Bunker then tackled the Female Officer, discarding the rod, Bunker was now on top of the Female Officer and disarmed her. Bunker snatched up the taser and tased the female guard, he then took out the X-Battery and sighed in relief, he then stood up.
There he saw a door with the words 'EXIT' on it, he sighed.
"Oh boy, I hope I'm right about this."
Grasshopper Man: Golden Bird.
A Hop, a Skip, and Jumpy away.
Sleepy…
That's what I felt like when my eyes opened and revealed themselves to the bright world. The cruel sunlight began to shine on my face, seemingly brighter than before, I rolled over to my side to try and hide from the light of the sun. I then kept my eyes shut to fall back asleep, I felt my consciousness slip away as my body began to recharge once more.
"What are you doing? Get. Up. You have to put in work and the hours to improve. And you can't do that if you're laying down, get up!" A voice rang in my head, I opened my eyes and I moaned. Putting my hands on my eyes, I rolled to my back.
"Shut up, Dwayne…" I said groggily, I pulled my hands from my eyes, and opened my eyes fully. The harsh light smiling upon me, I slowly raised my hand, not to block the sun, but to show it my fist. “Turn that light off, sun, or I’m gonna give you a knuckle sandwich,” I said as I rolled off to the side, I accidentally rolled too far and fell off my bed.
“Okay, you win, I’m up, I’m up…” I said as I went to my feet, I look at my messy room and I put my hands on my hips. "Huh, I should really clean my room, probably later, I need to go to school. I wonder what time it is." I looked around for my phone and saw it dangling from the side of my bed, attached to its charger. I walk towards it and pulled it from the charger. I turned the phone on with a smile on my face, however, my face slammed all the way down to rock bottom when I saw that it was 6:30, and the bus arrives in seven minutes.
"Well damn." I hopped towards my drawer and my eyes darted around as I checked all the drawers for clothes to wear. Black sweat pants, check, black socks, check, underpants? UNCHECK! 'Freeballin' this shit! No, wait I shouldn't.' I thought as I grabbed some underwear and slammed the clothes for my lower body down on my bed. I then jumped over the dirty clothes littering my bedroom and searched for shirts and jackets. First I grabbed my signature green jacket and threw it onto my bed. I then searched for a good shirt to wear. I picked a black shirt but I put it back.
"No, I'm not gonna be Ben Ten today, gotta be..." I turned to face my pet grasshopper, Jumpy, who was in a jar with leaves, water, and several holes. I look at him and noticed he had some brown on him. "Got it." I then grabbed a brown shirt and threw it on the bed with the rest. I then hug my clothes and pick them up with haste, I run into the bathroom that was in my bedroom and kick it down. I went inside and shed my skin, my clothes, and pick up my clothes for today.
Whilst I was getting myself ready, I made sure to put on deodorant and brush my teeth, multitasking is a pain in the ass. A real pain. After I got myself ready and put my coat on, I walked out the door and saw my bus zooming right by. I sighed and opened my phone, I put my headphones in the phone and put the earbuds into my ears. "I should have freeballed..." I groaned, I then put on my favorite song and get ready to walk.
It didn't take long for me to reach the shopping district of Manehattan. I was walking down a sidewalk, it was sunny out and I had a smile on my face. "Like the ocean needs to waves to take the tides away..." I sang to myself, I was then snapped out of my thoughts as I notice out of the corner of my eye, I see Aunt Orange, or Sweet Orange if you'd prefer, putting the flipping the 'Closed' sign to 'Open'.
"Yo, Aunt Orange, you just opening the shop?" I asked her, Aunt Orange turned to face me and smiled at me.
"Michael, did you miss the bus again?" Aunt Orange said, I gave her a chuckle and shrugged. "Well have you eaten anything for breakfast? I have a slice of orange cake that you can eat along the way." I stopped and looked at her, orange cake doesn't sound too bad.
"Nah, I'd rather lunch at school, despite the food being absolute DOG WATER! I really need to get there fast, I don't want to be late, sorry ma'am." I stopped walking and turned to face Aunt Orange, she gave me a smile in response.
"It's alright, Michael, but you really don't have to lie. You just want to see your mother do you?" Aunt Orange tilted her head knowingly, I paused and inhaled through my teeth.
"Yes..." I sighed, "I'm so very sorry, I'll see you later, Aunt Orange!" I waved her goodbye, Aunt Orange waved me goodbye as well.
"Goodbye, Michael, stay safe!" And safe I'll be, as I began to dance along to my music as I walked down the sidewalk. There was a familiar face walking down the other side of the sidewalk.
"Ayo man, dap me up!" I said, sticking my hand out, the pony in question, Snowpain. As she was rollerskating she stuck out her hand and dapped me up. "Ay, that's my girl, lookin' sharp man!"
"Thanks, Michael, you're a nice guy!" Snowpain said as she skated away, I chuckled and snapped my fingers rhythmically. I began to whistle to a new tune. As I dance I see a bunch of kids dancing with a music box, I then spin to them and smile. I then proceed to tap dance with my shoes, I smile as the kids look at me in awe, I then finish the tap dance with the slam of my heel. I then do a moonwalk backward and spin back to where I was going previously.
"Yo, that was sick, how did you learn how to do that?" One of the kids asked, I looked over my shoulder and smiled.
"School, apple juice, and a lot of broccoli!" I replied as I continued my walk, eventually, I reached the entrance to a hospital. Manehattan Hospital is the main hospital in all of Manehattan. I grab the door handle and pushed my way in, I found myself in the main lobby. I looked at the reception desk for someone who was free to answer my request and there was! Red Cross. I smiled at her, "Hey, hey, hey! How's my favorite reception desker?"
Red sighed and looked up at me with weary eyes as I strutted forwards and rested my forearm on the counter. "What have you brought for her today?" She asked me, I reached into my backpack and took out a drawing I gave her when I was four. "You know where she is, she's at 103 on the second floor."
"Thank you, Ms. Cross, I'll see you tomorrow." I pushed myself from the counter and walked to the left which lead to a corridor, I walked down the corridor and past several rooms. It didn't take long for me to reach the room that held my mother, I opened the door to the room and stepped in quietly. There I saw a nurse sitting on a chair next to the bed that help my mom, she was hooked up to a bunch of wires, and to a machine. (I'm not a nurse I have no idea what those are). A nurse was currently in the room watching over my mother, she noticed me and stood up from her seat, and left the room. I smiled at my Mom, Michelle Jackson. "Hello, Mom," I said softly.
My Mom's eyes were closed as she lay on the hospital bed, she had all of the beautiful hair on her head, she slowly woke up. Her eyes fluttered open like a bird, her eyes were beautiful, like gold. "Michael...?" She asked, her voice was hoarse and scratchy, I walked over to her bed and she smiled. "Did you miss the bus again, why are you here so early?"
I sighed and shook my head, "Well... Yeah, I missed but it was the bus' fault, it was too..." I stopped my joke before it landed and I kneeled down to her. I handed her the - now folded - drawing.
"What have you got for me today," Mom mused, she unfolded the drawing before smiling in amazement. "Oh, I remember this, you gave this to me when you came home from art class, the other kids threw it away but you dug it right up. That's my boy, have you made any girlfriends at school?" Mom asked, I smiled sheepishly. "Aw, come on, none?"
"Mom, you know I'm a loner, at this rate, I don't think I can even score a date to prom," I said with a chuckle, Mom took my hand, my smile fell flat and I looked at her in the eyes.
"Michael, my son, there is always someone to look after you, even in your darkest days. When I leave this earth..." Before she could continue on, I stopped her.
"Mom, don't say things like that, you're going to get through this. Remember when we got lost on that hiking trip? Who was the brave soldier with her eagle eyes who found our car?" I asked her, Mom smiled fondly at the memories.
"Ah, the Red Woods trip, perhaps the most scariest, and adventurous, journey we've been on as a family. I remember when you saw that raccoon, you though it was a monster about to eat me, so you grabbed a stick and charged into battle." Mom sighed blissfully, "But back to the topic at hand, Michael, I don't have much time left, and I want you to grow on without me. That starts with..."
Before my mom could make another word out of her pretty mouth, I walked away from the bed and to the door, "I gotta go," That was all I said to her, before I opened the door and left the room. When I closed the door behind me, I began to walk down the hallway in a huff. As I stomped off I felt something wet come down my face, I went to touch the source of wetness and found my tears. "Stop it, she'll make it, she'll be okay, it'll be fine. Don't worry about it, fucking moron." I mumbled to myself.
She'll be fine.
...
Right?
I walked out of the building with a lollypop I got from the front desk in my mouth, I opened my phone to check the time on my phone. "Really, 11:34? Damn, the walk here plus my visit with my mother, sucks man. I'm super late, I think I'm on fifth period, if I run now, I think I could be there by at least lunch. Well, at least I'll be there for seventh period."
"STOP CRIMINAL!" I heard someone yell, I looked up from my phone and looked to my left, then my right. I saw a man in a lab coat running from two police officers, I heard some sirens and looked to my left, there I saw a police carriage holding a human and two ponies trotting. It was obvious that the people in the carriage weren't going to catch the criminal.
The criminal began to run past me, so I stuck my foot out and tripped his ass. The criminal fell flat on his face and busted his nose, the police officers lunged down and restrained the man. One of the police officers looked up at me, "Nice trip kid, thank you." I smiled in response.
"It was no problem, really." I chuckled, the restrained criminal fought back and headbutted one of the officers in defiance. he then glared at me.
"You idiot! Do you have any idea what you've done? You've doomed all of Equestria!" He yelled as he was cuffed and pressed onto the ground.
"Doomed Equestria? What're you smoking, my guy? One criminal down is a family saved, so check yourself... Mr..." I went to look at his name tag when I heard a car beep. I look towards the beep and saw a limousine, the door opened, and out came someone who looked like the embodiment of America. He has slick blonde hair with a business suit and a red tie, his shoes were black, and he looked sharper than a knife. His eyes were ones of blue and he seemed to be about six feet tall, I gawked at him in astonishment. It was Aurum Avis! The CEO of Sky High Industries!
Mr. Avis had two bulky minotaurs flanking both of his sides, right and left. They marched down towards us with rhythm, I swear if I wasn't freaking out right now, I would salute. Mr. Avis looked towards the officers and nodded, the police officers pulled the criminal up to his feet. "Mr. Bunker, I expected more from you, stealing from my company is a big no-no." Mr. Avis spoke with a disappointed look on his face.
"Ah, so that's his name, Bunker, er, his last name, but at least I got a name." Mr. Avis turned towards me and my heart froze all the way down to sub-zero.
"And who might you be?" He mused, one of the police officers walked up next to me and pat my shoulders.
"This guy just saved our asses, he tripped Bunker when he was least expecting it. He was smart with it too, he was minding his own business and everything when all of a sudden he tripped the bastard. Without him, we probably would have never caught him." The police officer said, I chuckled with a grin on my face, thank god I wasn't white, my face would be so red right now.
Mr. Avis turned his head towards me, eyes sparkling in curiosity. "Really? Well, I daresay, you are a hero in the making, you not only helped us catch a thief, but you also helped us get back a very expensive and rare item." Mr. Avis walked next to me and in a matter of no time, reporters and news anchors were showing up. "What is your name?"
"My name is Michael Jackson, Mr. Avis sir, like the singer." I was still grinning like an idiot, my eyes were glued to Mr. Avis' as we were lit up with camera flashes.
"Well, Mr. Jackson, how would you like to be an intern at Sky High Industries?"
...
...
...
Man I'm dead. "YOOOO! NO WAY!" I yelled, I clutched my head, my mouth was agape. "NO SHOT MY GUY! NO WAAYYYY! Really?"
Mr. Avis smiled, "Yeah, really, you know what? You're going to be a super intern. I'm gonna allow you to gain access to all of the rooms in the building, with a guide of course." Mr. Avis winked at me, my heart can't take this.
"LET'S GOOOOOOOOO!" I couldn't contain it anymore, I was jumping up and down. "LET'S GO! YO! YO! Yo, when do I start?"
"We can start today if you'd like," Mr. Avis offered, I calmed myself down and took deep breaths.
"Okay, uh, I gotta go to school first if that's cool with you guys, I gotta get my education, you feel me?" My grin wouldn't leave my face still, Mr. Avis nodded.
"I completely understand, do you have a ride? If not I can drive you to school and drive you back to the company if you'd like." Mr. Avis offered, pointing to his limousine.
"Thank you, you have no idea how much you made my day just now, oh my god man, you're the best. I will not disappoint you, you have my word." I said, holding my hands together and doing a little bow. He smiled.
"Perfect, let's get you to school, shall we?"

Sorry, it was a bit speedy, I didn't have much to go off of.
