Pinkie Pie was on a mission to bake the perfect cake.

She drew 2D graphs of tastiness over baking that would make Twilight proud, but that wasn’t enough for the baker pony. She evolved them into 3D graphs of tastiness over baking and sweetness, but that wasn’t even their final form. After years of trial and error, she went beyond, breaking into the fourth dimension to reach that elusive global maximum of perfection.

The following day, more ponies than ever showed up to marvel at the sublime display, but nopony felt worthy enough to buy the perfect cake.

In the evening, Pinkie brought the unsold sweetness to her blind friend.

“Leftover for a leftover?” he asked upon hearing her hoofsteps.

“It’s not a leftover, and neither are you.”

The stallion couldn’t see the perfection, but when he tasted it, he saw colors for the first time in his life.
