Sweetie Belle's hooves sank into caramel quicksand, sticky goo creeping higher on her legs. "Rarity!"

Her sister, ever elegant, flung a licorice vine in the air, deftly sawing through a cotton candy cloud. With a graceful swing, Rarity lifted Sweetie Belle in her magic embrace. "Darling, we mustn't dawdle if we want to win the jar of syrup."

They leaped over the chocolate river, landing at the base of the lollipop staircase that spiraled toward the gingerbread house. Peppermint traps and gumdrop boulders were no match for them.

Finally, they burst through the licorice door, their eyes widening. Applejack and Apple Bloom sat atop the sisters' competition candy cane throne.

"We lost the sweetness..." Sweetie Belle's voice cracked.

Rarity placed a forehoof under her muzzle, lifting it gently. "The bond we share is sweeter than any confection in all of Candyland, and nopony can take that away from us."
