Chapters It was just another day as the yong mountain lion was getting ready for the day. Putting on his vest he looked himself over in the mirror and ran his fingers through his hair. "Good." He thought as he grabbed his keys. "Let's see if we get any bites today." The thought amused him. Ever since he graduated from college, people have challenged him to game after game. And when he wasn't able to use strength to win. He used his best(in his opinion) asset... his brain.
There was no doubt that someone would come and challenge him in something. "It'll probably be something like chess again." He thought with a sigh as he looked the door to his apartment. "Or old maid." He stifled a chuckle at that and started for his favorite hunting grounds... the local park.
He has gone there so often and won that they had put his name on a bench marking it as his. As he approached said bench he looked around at the people walking past. Most gave him a friendly wave. Others quickly turned there heads away. He swor he saw a few of them where embarrassed. One even getting yelled at.
With a sigh he sat and pulled out a book. If he was going to be waiting, he supposed he can at least get some reading in. "Miths and monsters." He sighed opening to a marked page. "I've been meaning to get back to this one.... let's see... pegasi and unicorns..."
As he finished the chapter his ear twitched at the sound of someone sitting across from him. "Resting or was that thump of yours just your way of challenging me?" He asked, replacing his bookmark. Turning he saw a slender man in a fantasy suite smiling at him.
"Oh. I do have a challenge for you. A little game. You win, you get anything your heart desires. If I win.... well... with your reputation. I doubt it worries you. So I'll hold that for the off chance I win." The man said with a grin. The yong boy thought for a moment. The man had a point. But something about this felt off. "Would you like to know the rules before deciding?" He asked. After giving a nod the man explained. "The rules will be simple. You must stop an evil monster from exacting their plan. How you do it is up to you. However, to win you can't lose you main pieces."
The young man thought for a moment. It was clear this stranger was withholding information. Considering what the older man said he considered his next words carefully. "And on the off chance I do lose one? You do realize that most games require sacrifice. Right?"
The old man smiled and nodded. "Yes, I understand. I'm impressed that you would bring that up. Most jump to except after learning the basics without question." He said approvingly as he nodded and clapped his hands. "Very well. As a reward..." He paused as an idea came to him. "You know that's not a bad idea. You can earn them back. Yes. Instead of one big game we'll have several smaller ones. That'll lead to one winner take all. And as a reward for pointing out the odds. I'll even give you a choice on where you want to claim your final prize."
The young man thought for a moment. It still sounded shifty to him. But he was looking for something... new. "If you expect me to move. What will happen with my home and things."
The old man rubbed his chin. "I nearly forgot about that. You would need a place to stay. And we can't have you homeless when you return." A few moments passed as he considered it. "How about this. If you can get a place to stay there. Then I'll send you your things. Free of charge. I'll even make it so you won't lose this home as well. That is until our game is over. But in return. You'll have to do something for me."
"What?"
"You'll see. So do we have a deal?" The man said, holding out his hand.
After a bit of thought the young man held out his hand shaking the older man's hand. "No tricks."
"My boy." The old man laughed. "I don't lie on deals. My tricks are saved for the game to add spice." The young man shrugged as the two stood and started to walk down the path. "I see you like to read a lot. Ever think what it'll be like to be one of those creatures you read about?" The young man thought. It was true he hadn't given it much thought. But now that the topic was brought up. He did wonder. "You know. I wondered what it'd look like if two creatures had a kid. Like werewolves and pegasi. Or a manticore and a unicorn." The old man laughed.
The young man was starting to see what this man was really like and partially was regretting his choices. However the thought of mixing creatures was a fascinating topic. Not really new but it did raise questions like the old man had pointed out. It wasn't long however they got to a large old mansion. "I take it this is the place." The boy said, looking at the large double doors.
"That it is. Now before you go. I thought we could spice up our game a little. Help you blend in while making you stand out." The old man replied as he held out some cards. "Take two and don't look. Just take them with you when you enter the doors." With a nod the young boy took two random cards and entered the building vanishing in a bright flash of light.
Ponyville Equestria
Twilight sighed as she looked at the calendar hanging on the wall of her study. Blinking, she gasped as she saw it flipping backwards. Looking around her jaw dropped as the room started to become blurred. "DISCORD!!!!!!!!!!" She cried as her voice faded to nothing.
Author's Note
This is going to be interesting. MLP in a more rpg style. Lol I'll do my best to make it interesting. Future plans are for the team to relive the different events that brought them together. Of course we'll start with Nightmare Moon. But what do you think is on the cards? And what did the old man mean by mixing creatures?
Let the games begin part 2
As the yong man stepped through the door he found himself on a balcony overlooking a large city. It took him a few moments of wonder before he realized that standing was feeling a bit harder. Quickly he learned against the railing before looking himself over. He had to blink a few times as he noticed he was an equine. Hopping to all fours he looked back finding a glass window to examine himself in. "Wings... pegasus then. Ok... let's see." Moving past the glass he walked into the room as he scanned the area. "A study. Good." Trotting over to a shelf he used a hoof to pull out a book titled. *flyers 101* before carefully grabbing it in his mouth. As soon as he found a table he sat and started to read.
Time passed as he studied unaware of two others who entered the room. Thankfully he had gotten the hang of a few things his wings can do so he didn't stand out as much. "Who are you and how did you get in here?" An angry female voice ordered. Looking up the yong man... no he was a stallion now... blinked before clearing his voice.
"Forgive me for answering a question with a question. But I'm certain you can guess. Other than the front door... which I'm guessing was locked. Is there any way someone without magic or the basic knowledge of flight..." He emphasized by tapping on the book he was reading. "Can get in without getting caught?" He asked, turning to see a rather unhappy female purple unicorn aiming her horn at him as a smaller purple dragon with green spine spikes hid behind her.
Thinking for a moment she took a breath and let her magic fade. "Fine. Then how did you get here and who are you?"
"Rather rood to demand a name without first giving your own. But given the circumstances we're in... how about Check?" He said extending a hoof.
"Twilight Sparkle." She replied bluntly before turning away. "Now tell me how you got here or I'll call the guards. I don't have time for games. I have to warn the princess of..."
"An ancient evil about to be released?" He finished. Upon seeing the looks of shock he smiled. "I'm here for the same. If a big event is coming. We should go there quickly."
"We?"
"I'll explain what I can on the trip. But for now we have to get to the event." He explained putting the book back to the shelf. "I'll also need to know as much as you do about any possible enemies we may face."
"Why?..." After a moment of thought Twilight gasped.
"I'm from another world and the creator that sent me told me trouble is coming." Check said causing Twilight to blink for a moment before nodding.
"Ok. Spike, take a letter..." with that she sent her warning about Nightmare Moon adding that she requested the aid of Check to help solve the problem. It didn't take long after Spike used his flames to send the letter they got a reply. Twilight quickly looked it over and groaned as a chariot landed on the balcony being pulled by a pegasus. "Let's go." She groaned as Check and Spike followed after grabbing the letter.
Several minutes later and a recap of how he arrived, Twilight was leaning over the edge of the chariot. "So... you believe me about the danger... right.?"
"Yes." Check replied looking off to the distance as he flew next to them. It wasn't easy at first for him to figure out how to fly. But after a few saves by Twilight. He was now flying calmly next to them. "But I also agree that you need friends." Hearing this she groaned. "Like it or not. No one can do this alone."
"Celestia did..."
"You're not Celestia!" Spike, Check and the pegasus pulling the chariot said after hearing Twilight mention the princess for the umpteenth time. "You have skill. I'll give you that. But from what I heard. She has a lot of years on you. And I doubt she spent that time alone."
Twilight sighed and shook her head admitting defeat. "Can you do something for me then?" She asked meekly. "While I'm doing the checklist for the event. And you see how secure we are?" Check thought for a moment and nodded. "Thanks..." She looked into the distance and sighed. "Looks like we're here." She sighed.
"Good luck." Check said flying behind some buildings as Twilight landed in the center of town. "Now to do some planning." He thought as he looked out at Twilight. "From what I saw... if she's really going to save anyone. She'll need help." Check blinked at seeing a pink pony talking to Twilight. As soon as she saw him she gasped and shot at him. "Oh crap..."
As soon as the pink pony was gone Twilight sighed and trotted on. Both ponies share the same opinion of the pink one. "CRAZY!"
Later that afternoon Check and Twilight meet to go over what they learned. "THIS TOWN IS CRAZY!" Twilight explained. "The farmer nearly sent me into a food coma, the weather pony gave me whiplash, the pink one almost broke my arm, the one in charge of decorating wouldn't let me go without a makeover... the only one that was partly normal only talks to none pony things in a normal toan." She groaned.
"I think they're just happy to meet you and host the event. This is a small town after all." Check countered. "But ya... the pink one's a bit." He shivered at the thought. "But they do seem nice. Maybe you should give them a try."
"Maybe tomorrow. For now I just want to lay down. And take a nap. You ok with the couch?" She asked, reaching for the door.
"Ya. I guess after what you went through you'll need it." Check replied softly as the two opened the door just in time to be hit by confetti.
Tonight was going to be a long night.
Author's Note
I had a hard time thinking of a name for him. So I just went with Check. I was thinking of doing a unicorn for him but I thought pegasus would end up being more fun.

Forming the team, clicker adventure
The party had been... something. The two agreed that Twilight would get some sleep as he got to know other ponies from town and plan their next move. However, as Twilight suspected the morning after, Check was passed out on the couch. To her amusement he had somehow gotten a calendar with several dates already planned out. As she sat with her breakfast she looked them over. She wasn't trying to be nosey... not really. But she wanted to make sure his plans didn't get in the way of saving...
She blinked, right there on today was "SAVE EQUESTRIA". She smiled with a nod. It was good that he put such things first. And it made her happier when she saw that he had scheduled studying before the dates. She let out a sigh as she turned to the stallion as he sat up.
"Ready for the celebration?" She asked watching him wobble over to a... thing that released dark odd looking liquid. Twilight made a mental note to ask about that later. As he added cream and sugar to the cup of hot blackish liquid.
"In a minute." He groaned, stretching a bit before sipping his drink. Turning he saw her expression and smiled. "Coffee. From my world. Old man." He said as if to answer her unspoken questions. "And I get that you likely have something like this here. But it'll take time for me to adjust."
Twilight blinked then nodded. "I see." The rest of breakfast went rather smoothly as they went over their notes about what they found out and what to expect. "So if she comes we have to come back and look up where it is." Twilight concluded as Spike took the dishes.
"Or I can look it up for when you arrive." Check countered with a smirk. "It's better we plan ahead for these things." A sigh and silent nod was her response before Twilight and Spike made their way to the event.
Taking a deep breath, Check looked around for the book. He didn't know how long they had. But given the time and the ponies he was dealing with. He had to act quickly. Several minutes passed after he found the books he needed before Twilight galloped in. "I guess from the lack of sunlight we were right?" He asked, not looking up from his book.
"Yes and now we have to act. Maybe you can help keep the town calm as I go and find the..." Twilight froze as he eyes widened. There in the room with them stood five ponies all but two with skeptical expressions. The others were one of excitement and the other of fear. "H... how long?..."
"They came in right behind you." Check explained as he finally looked up. "You know. I think I understand why you need an assistant with your lack of awareness." His calm expression unnerved Twilight but she had bigger problems than some nosey ponies and a mellow stallion.
"Fine, why are they here?"
"To help, silly." The pink pony replied.
It didn't take long to sit everypony down and goover what was going on. And surprisingly even less time to explain the plan... welllll... other than the Rainbow maned pegasus rightfully named Rainbow Dash, voicing her opinion of how stupid Twilight was for wanting to do it alone... which, EVERYPONY agreed to. "Told you so." Check laughed getting a hoof bump from said pegasus. With a groan Twilight agreed to go into the woods with the girls.
As the girls stepped out, Check heard the old man's voice. "Well played. But how long will this last?"
"That's up to them." Check countered.
"Oh? And what if the second card I gave you comes into play? What then?" The voice laughed. "Regardless. I think it's time for our game." It said, as a 3d model of the forest appeared on the table. "Consider this a... puzzle. You win. They make a team. If not, Well... You can guess." Check moved to the desk and say different tiles with pony names on them. "Just pick who should be the one to do a task. Simple right? Oh and if you ace it. I might give you knowledge about this world... or something like that."
With a sigh he nodded and watched the girls make their way through the forest. As the girls made their way strange symbols appeared above the map with a translation under it. "6 little ponies walk forth for freedom. Fear faces 5. Who shall fight back?" Looking at the tiles, Check thinks for a moment as he sees a timer countdown. Rolling his eyes he taps on Pinkie Pie. And with a ding he saw the event take place.
He had to admit it was funny how she used sining to solve the problem. And even found himself singing along.
After a few moments however a new message appeared causing him to sigh. "A beast appeared..." As soon as he saw the second word he looked at the list seeing Pinkie was missing. But that didn't matter. He pressed Fluttershy and smiled as the event happened. He couldn't help but to roll his eyes at how the girls acted but smiled at Fluttershy's intervention.
After a minute the next prompt came up. This time the ground caved and the girls were sliding to their doom. Thinking for a moment he tapped on Applejack. He thought if anypony was able to save the others she'd probably be able to hold at least one of the others till they were able to get to safety. And currently enough he was right. He watched as she was able to save Twilight from falling.
As the girls got to safety a new prop came up. "The girls got to a river that seemed dangerous and violent. They soon find out it was caused by a sea creature with half a..." rolling his eyes he tapped Rarity and watched the show.
The next prompt popped up revealing a bridge was out and there was no other way across. With a sigh he tapped Rainbow. And sitting back he watched the show. After a few moments the girls got inside as the final prompt came up. However, Check was unable to click on Twilight. "Well. Looks like you actually pulled it off." The voice said with a creepy chuckle. "Well... a deal's a deal. With each of our games I'll give YOU a special task. If you pass. You get a reward. If not, I get to take something from you."
Check thought for a moment. "Fine. What is the task?"
"Let's see... maybe I'll let you and your friends celebrate for the time being. I'll tell you what it is later." With that the voice was gone leaving Check to wait in silence to read more about this new world.
Author's Note
"Hay readers. It's me. The old man. Also known as the voice. I took over from the writer. Anyway, I do have a few tasks in mind for the kid. But I don't know which task to give him... Maybe get him to trigger the next event by *cough cough* helping with the kids? Get one of the girls to pick him as their pluss one? Maybe... Get him to date one of the girls? *laughs loudly* oh so many ways to make him fail. What do you guys think?"
Possibilities and foreshadowing
Spike Sighed as he made his way down the street. If he was going to help his friend find a date, he'd have to work hard and fast. Looking over the list he let out a sigh. Was there really a pony that matched what Check looked for in a mare? Or… an idea came to his mind causing him to stop and look over at the spa where he knew the ponies he was looking for would be.
"Let's hope the girls are OK with this." He sighed, taking a deep breath he walked in and made his way to the tub area where he thought the girls were.
In the bathing room of the spa, Twilight and her friends were relaxing as they laughed about what they planned to do for an upcoming event.
"Twilight!" Spike called as he walked into the room. "About the upcoming event." He said, walking up to the platform leading into the large tub. "What if you girls went with Check?"
Everypony looked at Spike in confusion. "What do you mean surgercue?" Applejack asked hesitantly.
"Well… I just thought…" Spike started as he thought of how to word it so the girls would be more willing to go along with his idea. "Well… maybe at least one of you. I mean…"
"Spike. Are y'a trying to ask us to go on a date with Check?" Applejack interrupted.
With a sigh Spike sat on the edge of the tub and rested his head in his claws. "I just feel sorry for the guy." He explained. "All the dates he had were disasters. Heck. One was even talked about in the papers."
The girls looked at each other before Rarity turned to Spike. "Has he tried stallions?" Spike nodded. "Well… then I think it's time we step in as his friends and help the pore guy out."
"Do we even know what he's looking for in a partner?" Rainbow asked.
Spike sighed and pulled out the list. "Nice, energetic, enjoys challenges, strong, smart, honest…"
"Y'all notice something about the list?" Applejack interrupted.
"That, if the Elements of Harmony was a pony, she'd be the perfect date for Check?" Pinkie giggled.
"That…" Applejack replied. "And no one pony would be the perfect date. I recon Spike was right to come to us."
"But we hardly know him." Twilight countered. "I say we hold off on the dating talk for a few weeks at least. At least that way we can get to know him better and help him find somepony easier."
The girls looked at each other with uncertainty. "And what if one of us is the right pony?" Rarity challenged, having already started thinking about who among her friends would be a good match… not including Rainbow Dash. Rarity had her suspension on who the pegasus would end up with. And it wasn't a stallion.
The girls looked at each other for a moment as the question hung in the air. Spike inwardly jumped for joy as the idea had been planted in their heads. Now all he had to do was tend to his new 'garden' and watch the love grow.
Meanwhile Check sat and tried reading as the voice in his head went on about dating and how boring they tended to be. He had to admit. The voice did have good points. But he'd do his best to ignore the voice when it got to the private parts.
After a bit however. The voice changed topic. "Soooooooo… any plans this week? I hear there's a big event coming up in Canterlot. Who knows. Maybe you might get lucky."
"I doubt I'll be invited." Check replied, turning the page of his book with a wing tip.
"Even if I was to tell you, it's where our next round takes place?" The voice beamed.
Snapping the book closed, Check huffed. "Fine. What is it this time?"
"What was it called again? A…. Mystery? And if you fail. I'll be nice and tag on a bonus round. A combat round."
Check sighed and rubbed his forehead. "Fine. How long do I have to prepare?"
"Depends. How soon Twilight gets the letter."
Check took a deep breath. He felt a headache coming. And this was promising to be a repeating issue. Getting up Check started for the door. "Time for a cut scene." He sighed.
Author's Note
A short chapter. But that is mostly to prepare for the hell they are going into. At least mentally.

The girls gathered in the park to talk about the upcoming events. Mostly one in Canterlot. More importantly, the one involving a specific pony.
"I still can't believe your brother is getting married to your old babysitter." Rarity giggled.
"Ya." Pinkie chimed. "Can you imagine the drama if we were finding out at the last minute? Instead of getting the month to prepare?" Pinkie laughed before glaring at the viewers.
After a few moments of their friend staring into space, Applejack cleared her throat. "Anywho… do ya reckon the princess would have an idea about what to do about Check?"
"Something tells me she's just going to tell us to figure it out like some kind of lesson." Rainbow sighed.
"The princess wouldn't…" Twilight started. But rethought her comment at the look her friends gave her. "Well… comparing this to the other things we went through… OK. You may have a point. But you can't deny she does it for our best interests."
Another look. This time, Fluttershy spoke. "But wasn't it her idea to send a group of kids to face Discord?"
Everypony looked at her in shock for a moment before Rainbow added. "She has a point. Maybe… we should see if your future sister in law has some ideas."
Twilight sighed and wrote a letter. "Ok. I'll have Spike send this ahead. They might still have things to prepare. But letting them know we want to talk… and what about… will give all of us time to prepare."
"Spike?" Rarity called.
The girls rolled their eyes as Spike ran over. "Yes Rarity?"
"Would you be a dear and send this letter to Cadance for us?" She asked softly.
Suspecting he knew what it was about he nodded and did as he was asked.
With the letter on it's way the girls agreed to get ready for the train ride. Stopping for a moment at the sound of Spike's belch.
"You girls go ahead." He said with a smile as he looked at the letter. "It's just a reply from a letter I sent… Guy stuff."
With a nod the girls ran off the Carousel Boutique. Meanwhile Spike ran off to find Check.
At the library, Check was sitting in front of a map of Canterlot Castle. "Odd that Twilight would have this out for anypony to look at." He shrugged. "But at least it gives me a way to see what to expect later."
"If you get invited." The voice pointed out.
"The more you talk like that. The more likely I will be." Check countered. "If the next game is a mystery… I'd need to know what rooms would likely be involved, and the most likely routes…"
"Game?" Spike said from the door.
"Crud." Bothe Check and the voice muttered.
"Check? What's going on?" Spike asked as he walked over.
Check thought for a moment before smiling at the dragon. "Well Spike… ouch." He groaned, feeling a kick to the back of his head. "You never said I can't tell them about it." He hissed looking away.
"The more that know, the less fun the game becomes." The voice huffed.
With a sigh Check turned to the now concerned dragon. "Look. After a bit of research. I found out the voice in my head is a part of Discord. And he brought me here to play some games with the fate of your world on the line." Check explained. "And the next one takes place in Canterlot."
"Next?"
"The first one was Nightmare Moon. And then there was that dating thing." Check sighed.
"Which is still going." The voice added.
"Whatever." Check sighed. "The point is… if I fail to clear the games… ponies might get hurt. Or worse."
Spike thought for a moment before asking. "Would it help if you were at where the game takes place?"
"It'll be a lot easier. The last one was easy. But I get the feeling that they'll get harder as we go."
"And… what about?" Spike gulped.
"He won't do anything till I lose… and that means… I have to keep the girls in the game." Check explained as he turned away.
"Wait… you mean… you're playing with their lives?" Spike gasped.
"Yes Spike. In a way I am. But…"
"Only for the games… right? They're themselves outside the… events?" Spike asked. Seeing Check nod, the dragon gasped. "The wedding!"
"Wedding?"
Spike pulled out the letter. "I got you invited as a best man. The wedding must be the next event."
Check thought for a moment. "That… complicates things… he said the next game was a mystery…" He looked at the map and at each spot he thought would be involved in the wedding. "I have a bad feeling about this."
"Should I tell the girls?" Spike asked.
"For now? No. It's easy to guess this is a special event for them. Just act normally and tell me what you find out." With a nod he turned to smile at Spike. "Agent Spike…"
Hearing this Spike stood at attention.
"I need you to be my eyes and ears. As Twilight's number one assistant, you will be close to the action. So act normal around them as you take note of what you see and hear. I'll do my part and talk to the guards and guests."
The two nod and after getting a suit for Check, they made their way to the train station.
NEXT TIME
the mystery of BRIDZILLA
Author's Note
Heads up. Bad guys will be coming soon and not juts the final boss like in the show. Who wants to guess on wins and losses. And the prize or penalty that'll come with?
Twilight and her friends boarded the train on their favorite cart. Meanwhile Check and Spike slipped in the back cart. The dragon agreed to join the girls till they arrived. As the train made its way to the capital, Check sat in the back studying the happy couple. Most of the information was either second hand or had gaps.
"My, my." The voice purred. "Such a dish. She sounds like the type of pony a guard would go heads over tail for."
"I really hope you don't plan on doing one of those surprise villain reveals." Check sighed. A few moments of silence he added. "I can already guess how everything would go if you hadn't brought me in."
"Yes…. Well…" the voice groaned. "How soon do you think it'll be before they fail to see what you think you do?"
"It's the princess. Isn't it?" Check sighed. "You're not being very clever about it."
"Look. The roles aren't exactly my idea, ok? At least give me some credit for coming up with the idea of making it a mystery for those involved." The voice huffed.
"I guess the mystery would be to find a way to convince the others before the wedding."
"True."
"My guess is the imposter didn't do their research."
The voice thought for a moment. "You know. I never thought to ask… that would be a rather telling detail… wouldn't it?"
"Then it's settled. I know how I'll clear this round."
"I should point out this is a two parter. A mystery and action round."
Check sighed. "Great. I get to be sweaty."
At the train station
As the train pulls into the station the first thing anypony can see is the amount of guards. "Well… this isn't a red flag." Check sighed as he slipped out the back.
After a few steps from the train, he bumped into a dark figure.
"I see you made it safely." She said flatly. "As you can see, we had to up security…"
"A threat against the wedding." Check finished. "And I take it that you think there's something bigger coming?"
After a moment she nods. "Yes… though I'd rather you let me finish in the future." She huffed. "Anyway, I am Princess Luna. And I want you to find out what is going on and stop it."
Check bowed with a smile. "I shall do as you ask. But I ask, you pramit me full access without restriction."
"Why would you need that?"
"If what you fear is true. Then there's no knowing how deep this threat might be." Check explained.
"We don't have much time."
"Please, have faith in my skills."
After a moment's thought, Luna lit her horn and pulled out a crescent moon pin and placed it against his chest. "This will mark you as MY private… informer?" She tapped her chin, before shaking her head. "Go. Find the truth. I have much to think about." Turning away she started to fly off muttering. "Laws these days… Can you still bed or wed your advisor?..."
With a sigh he turned and flew up to a balcony where a guard stood. As he was about to say something, he saw Twilight with her brother. "Yea… I definitely don't want to be the stallion she brings home." He laughed to himself.
Hearing the comment, the guard chuckled. "Good one sir."
"Thanks." He replied as he watched a pink alicorn approach the two. "Wow. She's even cuter than her records say…" his eyes narrow as she snubs Twilight. "And definitely not the real one."
"Sir?"
"I want all guards to keep an eye and ear on her. But keep it discreet. Understand?"
"Yes sir."
"Good. Let's just hope, Twilight isn't the only one that sees what I do." He snarled before flying to one of the towers. "Time to get my pieces moving before I lose one to her."
Inside the room a mare was shifting through the trash. "Really? Are you even trying?"
She gasped and jumped away as she turned to look at him. "Sorry sir… I was just… ummm…"
"First, tell me why you're here."
"I'm looking for… food."
"Did you try the kitchen?"
"I… need other food."
Check looked from her to the trash then back to her. "You're a spy. Correct."
"Trader really." She replied. With a sigh she hung her head. "I've been exiled for giving out plans."
"The attack. You told the princesses." Check thought for a moment. "Ok. Stay with me. And try not to dig through the trash."
"But…"
"Why don't you tell me about your kind? That way I can help."
"First… I don't normally look like this." She explained as she slowly was covered in green flames that burned away her pony disguise and revealed a black bug like form. "I'm what's called a…"
"A changeling. I read about them. Little is really known about your kind. Other than you kidnap foles and take their place, even doing the same to fully grown ponies."
"Well… most of that is true. But the kids are never harmed. In fact. A sister hive has been trading for them and taking good care of them." She explained eagerly. "At least till the Queen stops being power hungry. Speaking of… we eat emotions. Love is the most preferred."
"I see." Check sighed. "That might be a problem."
"You mean because you don't love anyone but your brothers?" She guessed. "Sorry. We can see mental images of those others love. It makes gathering food easier."
"Wait… gather?" Check smiled. "I think I just came up with the perfect plan to help both sides. We just have to find a way to convince your queen before the wedding."
Meanwhile: Twilight let out a groan as she paced her room. Complaining to Spike about how tied up in this mess her friends are. Spike, for his credit, was pretending to only partly pay attention as his tail kept notes on the day's events.
"I really hope Check has a plan." He thought. "Because I think Twilight is going to lose it soon."
At a donut shop across the street from the castle.
"I know we agreed not to question it. But I still don't know what she was talking about. Dis… whatever it was." Applejack huffed, to which the other three at the table nodded in agreement as they shared the confusion.

"Why is it so hard to set up a good mystery?" Discord huffed. "That's it next game I'm upping the stakes. Let's see..." shifts through a list of games. "Well... that might get a bit heated. But let's save that a few rounds.... oh... maybe... yes. I do so enjoy an old classic."
Love and war what's worse
As Check and the changeling made their way down the hallway, he couldn't help but to notice the bug had taken a unicorn disguise. It made sense really. The ponies were on guard against anything that might appear like a threat. And seeing a pony walking with Luna's chosen detective was far from strange. Or at least he hoped.
Rounding a corner the two stop to see Twilight pacing the halls. "Maybe we should go around." The changeling suggested.
"No. More ponies that know you're on our side the better. And if we tell her what we know…" Check countered as he looked at his companion.
"Tell who what?" Twilight asked, causing the two to look over in shock. "Sorry. I saw the two of you in the hall and…"
"You need somepony to talk to." Check finished.
"How did you know?"
"It's written on your face. I'm guessing it's about the wedding."
"Yes. I think…"
"The bride is a fake."
"The bride is a…" Twilight blinked. "Y…yes… and we need…"
"We need to reveal her and stop her plans before ponies get hurt."
Twilight glared at him for a moment. "How long did you know?"
"Who it is? Probably about the same time as you." He lied. "Regardless, we have a plan… or at least I do. But I'll need you to trust me on this."
Seeing the pin, Twilight nodded. "What do you need me to do?"
"Go get the others. No doubt they'll want to do a rehearsal. Take our friend here with you. Tell them she has news for them." He explained.
"And what if they don't believe me?"
"Tell them I sent her. And that Luna appointed me to find the truth. This unicorn is key to my plan. So keep him safe. I'll get the so-called bride ready." With that said, Check made his way past Twilight. Leaving her with a confused and considered changeling.
In the bride's chambers
Cadence stood at her vanity table as she prepared for the big event. It didn't take long before the door opened revealing a less then amused Check. "Glad we can meet face to face. Or at least, face to mask."
She blinked in shock as she looked at him. "Who are you? And how did you get past the guards?"
"Yeah… something tells me the princess will need to run a few tests on that." He sighed. "If no pony recognized that the babysitter of the princess's top student was acting strange…" He remarked as he gave a knowing smile.
"It doesn't matter. Even if what you say is true. It's your word against mine." She laughed.
"About that… interesting thing about magic. It leaves a kind of… signature. Mind alteration… nasty stuff." He laughed, setting a white bishop on the table.
At those words her eyes grew large. "But… why? How?"
"I simply did what any stallion of peace would. I slipped in and revealed the truth. Now. Before they find the real princess and come to lock you away. How about I offer a deal?"
"And that is?"
"Call off the attack and I'll show you ways to get all the love energy you can ever want."
Cadence licked her lips at the idea. "And if I say no?"
Without a word, Check placed a knight on the table.
Meanwhile
Twilight paced back and forth in her room muttering about how her brother was in danger and how no pony seemed to believe her.
"Relax Twilight. I'm sure everything will be fine." Spike reassured. "I'm willing to bet that somepony believes you."
Twilight's ear twitched as she turned to him in shock. "What? Who? Are you hiding something from me? You know how that annoys me."
Realizing what he said, Spike covered his mouth and shook his head. "Sorry Twilight. I promised I wouldn't tell anypony." He gulped. "I Pinkie Promised."
Hearing about the promise, Twilight sighed and hung her head. "Fine… at least I know I'm not crazy. She is evil… right?"
Spike rubbed the back of his next. "Well… you're the smart one. What other possibilities might there be?"
Twilight thought about it. "Mind control? But that wouldn't explain my brother…" her eyes widened. "Something has replaced her with an imposter."
"So what's the plan?" Spike asked as he jumped to his feet.
"We need to gather evidence. It won't be easy. But I know the real Cadence." She declared. "We'll find what we need."
In the main hall
"Upset? Not at all. I love weddings. Especially in the middle of a national threat." Luna huffed. Taking a deep breath, Luna looked over at her sister. "You know something is wrong."
Celestia let out a deep sigh. "I trust your judgment sister. And if you think this Check will be able to stop this threat. Then so do I." She gave her sister a hopeful smile. "Or is there another reason why you asked for him to be invited?"
Luna blushed and looked away. "You… you know we can't… besides… The law is still new to me… I would like time to study the changes before…"
"I can see if he's interested in sharing after things settle down. That is a possibility… if you were wondering." Celestia teased.
Luna sprinted out of the room shouting. "I will get you for this sister!"
The guards looked at each other for a moment sharing a "Don't get involved" nod, before turning back to their work.

In the bride's chambers
Cadence
"My response." Check replied flatly. "Do you want a translation? Fine. Call it a calling card. Or a challenge. If you force a fight. Then you will receive a far greater defeat. I promise."
Cadence laughed. "Are you joking? How would YOU be able to defeat me? What Have you planned? A spy in the wedding party?" She laughed.
"Even if I don't. There are other ways to beat you."
Cadence laughed and waved him out.
Turning away, Check called to the changeling. "Come. We have places to be."
"But the princess."
"Has chosen her fate." Check replied as they went down the hallway. Stopping next to a guard, he whispered before concentrating down the hallway. "Once we explain the plan. You'll be safe."
"But what's going to happen?" The changeling asked.
"If I'm right. A magic…" Stopping the corner of a wall he glanced down the path before taking a few steps back. "blast…"
"What is it?"
"The answer." He smirked. With that said he made a mental note of the location before heading down the hall.
Later at Luna's room
With a nod he opened the door revealing Check and a shy looking mare. The two walked in as Luna motioned for the guard to wait outside. Once they were alone, Luna motioned them over. "What's the news?" Shr asked in worry.
Check sighed. "I have good news and bad news." He answered. Good news is I know what we're up against. And we have this young lady to thank."
"I… I'm not much younger than you." She pointed out nervously.
"Noted." Both Check and Luna replied.
"And the bad?" Luna asked fearing the worst.
"An army is preparing to attack the city." Check explained.
"No doubt you have a plan." Luna sighed. "And what of our friend here? I don't believe we met."
"That's where it gets a little complicated. She's the informer that warned you about the attack." Check explained, motioning for the mare to move forward.
"I… I…" the mare bursted into tears. "I betrayed my queen. I told you about the attack because I don't want anyone to get hurt. I'm sorry."
"It's ok child." Luna cooed. "Please, explain what you can."
"My… My kin and I are… changelings." She explained, before wincing back, expecting the princess to erupt. However, after a few moments of silence, the mare looked over shocked to see Luna had a calm expression on her face. "You… you're not mad? Or surprised?"
"Not at all." Luna replied with a smile. "I knew a changeling queen growing up." Closing her eyes she let out a soft laugh. "She taught my sister and I a few spells from her lands." Luna let out a soft sigh at the memory. "You can drop the disguise. You're among friends."
After a few moments the mare dropped her disguise, revealing her true form. "I… I don't want to be cast out."
"Do not fear child." Luna explained. "If needed, I will speak to my sister about finding you a safe place to stay."
"This may be a stretch princess. But… perhaps, she can stay in Ponyville." Check suggested. "I'm certain one of Twilight's friends will be able to give her a place to stay."
Luna thought for a moment. "You may be right." She agreed. "And if the invasion does happen. She'll need something that can keep her safe and let others know she's on our side."
"Other than staying at my side?..." Check thought for a moment. 'Maybe… there's something I can do to increase our chances.'
"What do you need, Check?" Luna asked.
"There's a wall in the lower hallway that is different from the rest. I'd like to see what's inside." He explained.
Luna thought for a moment before nodding. Getting up, Luna moved to the door. "Guard. Go inform two of my sister's guards and one of your comrades to come to the west halls. And bring a med kit to be safe."
"Princess?"
"Check and his assistant will be going into the catacombs." She explained.
"Right away princess." He replied before galloping off.
Turning back to the others, Luna gave a soft smile. "Stay at Check's side and you'll be fine." She explained. "I trust the two of you to protect our subjects and get to the bottom of this threat."
The changeling nodded before taking up a unicorn disguise and pressed against Check. "I will princess. I… I know healing spells… and scanning magic."
"Then you will indeed be of great help to Check." She replied before smiling broadly. "In fact. I think I may have an idea of where you may stay once this threat is taken care of."
A moment later the guards returned. "Princess. We're ready. The passage is open and the hallway is on lock down."
"Good." Check explained, making his way over with a wing over the mare. "Once we arrive. See to it that nopony passes."
"But." Check stopped and turned to the guard in a snap, causing the guard to freeze and stutter. "N… nopony… understood."
At the secret passage
"What do you think we'll find in this forgotten maze, sir?" A guard asked.
"The truth. If you don't mind my lady? Would you mind scanning for life?" Check asked.
With a nod her horn lit as Check made sure her horn was out of sight from the guards. "Found her."
"Lead the way." Check replied with a smile as he patted her back.
"Her?" "Are we missing something?"

I wonder how this invasion will turnout. After all. Check seems to be onto something. Do you guys want to see a chapter of what's going on in his head? Maybe a dream sequence?
As the girls prepared for the wedding practice. Check made his way through the underground passage. He scanned the area for anything that may be a hint about what he was able to do with this area or at least the gems.
"Stay alert everypony. There's no telling what traps were set for us." Check orders. "Any luck with locating our target?"
"We're close sir." She replied. "It's coming in clearer."
"What can you tell me about it?" Check asked.
"She's not doing well."
"SHE!?!" The three replied in unison.
"Double time everypony." Check called out. With a nod the four rushed off to try and find the female as fast as they could.
Time was running short and Check knew that if they didn't find the real princess, then it was likely that the fake would have an upper hoof in the coming fight.
Check turned to one of the guards. "Go back to the princesses and prepare for the invasion." Check orders. "And don't let the wedding party know about it."
"Yes sir." The guard replied before rushing back for the exit.
It didn't take them long to find the mare. Once she saw the green glow she tried moving away. Seeing this the three slid to a stop and bowed to her as Check spoke. "We have come by orders of princess Luna to rescue you and get you to your wedding."
The mare sighed and looked away. "How can I trust you?"
"By us first trusting you princess." The mare said as she stepped forward and dropped her disguise. "I told the princesses about our queen's plan…" She proceeded to explain what led up to us finding her.
Cadence went through several reactions before finishing with a soft smile. Moments later however, a nearby wall blasted open. All eyes turned to see a frazzled Twilight ready to jump the first thing she saw.
As her eyes fell on the princess and changeling, she jumped to attack them.
Seeing this, Check and the guard quickly moved to stop her. "Twilight! Stop!"
"Let me go! I'm not going to let that monster get away!" She raged. "You can't block me from your master!"
"Twilight. This isn't like you. Stop and think." Check snapped. "You are a rational pony. Take a deep breath and think."
After a few moments, Twilight went limp and panted as she nodded slowly. "Yes… you're right." Sitting back, she watched as the changeling checked on Cadence. Turning to Check, she smiled. "I'm glad you're here. It sounds weird, but you knew just how to calm me down."
"I find it easy to know as much as I can about those close to me." He explained with a smile. "That way I know how to help them and when I should step back."
Twilight blushed. "R… right… anyway. We need to get to the wedding. That fake is about to marry my brother."
"She won't." Check countered as the changeling helped Cadence to her feet. "The guard is stalling the wedding while we make our way back."
Twilight moved to Cadence's side and started walking with her. "How do you know this? What's going on?"
"Luna invited me to look into the threat." Check explained. "I put a few things into action to avoid a war."
"Like?"
"Like looking for Cadence while you and the others prepared for the wedding."
Twilight thought for a moment before nodding. "That sounds like it'd be a reasonable… wait… YOU KNEW SHE WAS A FAKE?!?!"
Chek shrugged. "After seeing how she acts to the ponies she claims to care about. I thought it was obvious."
"THANK YOU! Finally somepony gets it." Twilight sighed. After a few minutes she asked. "Are you sure we'll make it?"
"Yes." Check replied as they drew close to the exit. "You two should go ahead. I have something I need to take care of."
"What?" She asked, watching him pull an odd white thing from his bag.
"Princess. Would you mind holding onto this for me?" Check asked holding out the object to Cadence.
"What is it?" She asked.
"Like you. She is the most important piece on this board." He replied.
"I don't get it. But if the princesses trust you. Then I shall keep it safe." She said with a bow.
"Thank you. Let's hope it won't be needed." He said returning the bow.
With that they split into two groups. Twilight and Cadence made their way for the wedding as the others went off to prepare for the upcoming attack.
Check slid to a stop as he panted and looked out the window at the cracks in the shield. "Not good." Turning he watched as a guard was passing out chess pieces, as they rushed past to put them in position. "Let's hope that everything is in place." He sighed.
"Sir." A guard called as he trotted over. "We've placed all the… things the princess instructed us too."
'Luna?' Check thought. 'She probably guessed that I was going to do something along these lines.'
Nodding, Check smiled at the guard. "Good. Let the others know to prepare for a fight and keep everyone safe. Pony or otherwise."
"Sir! Non lethal takedown. Understood." He replied before galloping off.
Taking a deep breath he turned and started to make his way to the wedding, as he slipped a white king piece around his neck. "Time for the king to take the queen."

Check made his way to the main hall where the wedding was being held. There were two possible things he expected to see. One was the changeling queen bragging about her pending win. And another was the girls getting ready to go for the Elements of Harmony.
Arriving at the door, he took a deep breath and listened for his que.
It didn't take long for the sound of changelings approaching from down the hall to cause him to facehoof. "Can these ponies think things through before rushing into danger?" He sighed before ducking behind a pillar.
Watching the girls getting walked into the room he slowly approached the door.
After waiting for the queen to start laughing he pushed open the door and sighed loudly at seeing everypony stuck to the ground. Causing them to turn and look at him in shock.
"To think. I gave you a chance to do this the easy way. But none of you seem to understand the price is never worth the fight." He announced as he made his way up to the middle of the room. "Luckily for you, I'm willing to give you a second chance."
Chrysalis laughed and stepped up to him. "You really think you can win? Look around you. I have already won. What can you do to beat me?"
"Easy. First, I have a magic net ready to trap and depower you and your army. Second, I distract you while a night guard frees the princess." At that the queen's eyes shoot open, before turning to see Cadence making her way to Shining Armor. "And lastly, I say one thing before you're sent into the net… CHECKMATE!"
With that Cadence kisses her fence, freeing him from the spell and sending out a magic blast that forces Chrysalis and her army to the edges of the kingdom where they get caught in a net and lowered to the waiting guard.
As the girls helped Celestia and Cadence, Check calmly made his way out of the castle and to the town square. On his way to where the guards were holding the changelings, Luna joined him. "Do you have a plan?" She asked.
"Give them a choice. Banishment, or surrender. Those are the only options I can see for them as long as she's in control." He replied flatly. "I'd rather avoid death."
Luna frowned at the thought. "That would be bad. And if she's the only one who chooses banishment?"
Check smile. "I have a few ideas."
As the two made their way to their destination, the voice sighed. "Seeing you avoided the fight. We'll count this as a bonus round."
Once they arrived, the guards stood around a cage where the drowns sat as the queen was caned at the front of the cage. "Look who it is." She hissed. "Come to gloat?"
"No." Check replied. "I came on behalf of a request."
"Oh?" Chrysalis asked as her and Luna looked at him curiously. "I'm listening."
Closing his eyes, Check went over every possible outcome. If they simply banished her and her kin. They would try again. He wasn't going to risk a war. So…
"Give friendship a chance." He finally sighed as he looked at her pleadingly. "It is the only chance you have at walking away from this."
Chrysalis laughed and shook her head. "You ponies don't give up. Do you? So… which princess came up with this idea?"
"The one you banished." Check replied. "And sadly. For your crimes. I'll be lucky to barter for your life."
"What are you talking about?"
Luna stepped forward. "For your multiple crimes against Equestria and its ponies. The only punishment fitting hasn't been passed in these lands for over one thousand moons."
"You don't mean…" the queen hissed.
"Death." Was Luna's only reply.
"And what of my children?"
"Luna recalls enough about your kind. She can appoint a new queen."
"Or king." Luna added. "It's rare. But not unheard-of."
Chrysalis thought for a moment. "How long do I have to play nice?"
"Until all of Equestria forgets about what you did." Luna replied, before leaning in with a smile. "And that includes us nobles and the element bearers."

"My subjects would never…" She started before the exiled changeling walked up and lit her horn.
"A proper drone will do as they're told and give me every drop of love they gather." The queen's voice said from her horn. "And a proper drone will die if I say so."
"Prefer to live?" Check challenges. "After all. A good ruler cares about them." A few moments passed before he turned his attention to the drones. "I wonder. How many of their names do you actually know?"
The drones looked at each other for a moment before turning to the queen who just huffed. "I have so many drones. You really expect me to…"
"I look after thousands of ponies dreams." Luna spat. "And I can tell you the name of each and every one." As an example she stomped her hoof. A few moments later, three identical bat ponies in identical armor arrived. "Orora. Orion. Stella. Thank you for coming." She announced without looking away from the queen.
The three bow and reply in unison. "Yes your majesty."
"Now. What's your excuse?" She asked sharply. The queen growled in response as the drones looked like they were starting to question things.
"Looks like you're running out of options." Check pointed out. "What will it be?"
After a few moments the queen lunged at him hissing as one of the guards stepped in with his spear at the reedy.
Before anypony was able to react, the queen fell onto the spear. After a few moments of hissing and snapping at Check, the queen went limp. Much to Check's anger.
"You stupid bitch." He spat. His choice of words caused the others to step away in shock. He turned to the drones and huffed. "You still want to follow your queen? Or do you want to take one of my offers?"
A few moments of the drones looking at each other they looked at the princess and bowed. "We surrender. Please spare us." A drone proclaimed.
With a nod, Check turned and walked off as the princess talked with the drones about how they'll move forward.

It was a rather quiet trip to the train station. However, as soon as he got to the station…
Check stopped at a line of guards that stood in line leading up to Celestia next to the girls and the happy couple. Taking a deep breath he started down the line. As he approached each guard, they stood at attention and saluted.
He even caught a few of the females blushing as he passed. "Oh look. I think that one was your Thursday date." The voice teased. "Oh. And maybe that one will be Monday's date."
"That's a guy." Check thought back.
"Could have fooled me."
Check sighed as he arrived in front of the princesses. "What's the occasion?"
Celestia smiled. "You are. The guards agreed that we should send you off like the hero you are."
"Not needed princess. I only did as I was ordered." He replied.
"On the contrary. Spike informed me that you were told to find the threat. And not only did you do that. You attempted to stop it, prevented a forceful takeover, saved the bride as well as my student, and brought peace between ponies and changelings." Celestia countered. "If this didn't earn you a reward. Then I don't know what would."
Shining stepped up with the king piece around his neck. "On behalf of the royal guard. If there's ever anything you need or want. All you need to do is ask." He announced before saluting.
Check nods and turns to get on the train. "Maybe some other time." He said as the group started to board the train.
Spike stopped at the door and looked back to the princess and Shining who smiled and nod. No words had to be said as they had the same idea.
On the ride back Check explained what happened at the wedding. The girls surprisingly took it well. That is until the mention about Chrysalis landing on the spear came up. There was a mix of shock and regret, which was shown on their faces. With a few exceptions. Rainbow was surprisingly angry about the outcome. And Spike just shook his head.
"And you know the rest." Check finished, before looking out the window. "Looks like we're about to arrive. Better get ready. " He said, hopping off his seat and heading to get his things.
The girls looked at each other as Spike nudged Twilight. "Well? Aren't you going to say something?"
Twilight bit her lip and nodded. "Right." She replied moving over to Check. "Check?... iI… I wanted to say thank you… for what you did for me and my brother."
"Don't mention it." He replied flatly.
"Is there a chance that maybe… you'd like to… go on a date with me?"
Check looked at her and cocked an eye at her comment. "Why?"
"Well… there's several reasons…" She glanced over her shoulder at the others. "And I'm not the only one that would like to have the chance at becoming your marefriend."
Check sighed and turned away. "Thanks. But not interested."
"Why not? Even Spike has seen you on plenty of dates."
"And who do you think is the mastermind behind them?" Check let out a sigh before continuing. "I respect what he's trying to do. But right now I need to stay focused on other things besides a hormonal attraction."
"Meaning you think we'll get in the way? Or you're scared that falling in love will reveal a weakness?"
Check sighed and looked away. "Discord." Was all he said as the train came to a stop. Before Twilight was about to say anything, he left.
"Great… another name I have to look up." She sighed. "Knowing my luck, it's a bad guy from some myth that'll turn out to be real." She let out a loud groan and scooped up Spike. "Sorry girls. We have a lot of work to do." She announced before making her way to the library.
Check flew to the town hall. It was about time he started looking for a place to live and a job he was qualified for. Thankfully the mayor was more than welcoming and helped him find a store that was on the market. As a bonus, it had a living section upstairs.
Digging through his bag, Check sighed at the amount of bits he had. Smirking, he looked at the mayor. "Just Bill it and the furnishing bill to the royal guard. And make sure they know it's from me about the favor."
At the mention of the royal guard, the mayor dropped her papers. "How… how did you get a favor from them?" She asked hesitantly.
Check put his badge on the table. "I helped with a few things."
She looked at the badge then at the shop in question. "And… what business would you like to open?"
Check thought for a moment. From the list of available businesses in the area, there was really only one that he thought would fit best. After all, he already did the work twice now.
"I was thinking…An attorney's office? Or a detective's office." He shrugged. "Both sound like they'd fit."
"Ha. Like you'd be able to solve anything worth noting." A pompous voice mocked.
Turning, Check saw a pegasus stallion in flight leather. "And you are?"
"Why not put your detective skills to work and tell me?" The stallion challenged.
Letting out a sigh, Check shook his head. "Sorry. But unlike my friend Rainbow Dash. I haven't memories every Wonderbolt. Retired or otherwise."
The stallion huffed at this and glared at him. "What makes you think I'm retired?"
"Simple. Your outfit." Check replied with a smirk. "My guess is you only attend events to see how the new generation is and to hold onto a title."
The mayor blinked as the stallion huffed. "Not bad. But don't think that it'll help your company survive." He laughed as he walked off.
Turning back to the mayor, Check smiled. "So… when can we start remodeling?"

I thought I'd set some things up for the future. But what exactly they are? Is yet to be decided.
Later that day, Check sat at the library as he read a Daring Do book with Rainbow Dash. "I can see why ponies think this is a fantasy book." He explained as he turned the page.
Rainbow let out a soft laugh resting her back against his. "Yeah. But what's important is what you think." She paused her reading to look over her shoulder at him as he laughed.
"Dash. We live in a world with living logs, chimera, and who knows what else." He laughed. "I don't think even half the stories are as made up as ponies think they are."
Rainbow laughed and went back to her book. "You SO have to join me at the next con. We can compare notes on what is closest to the book."
Check gave it some thought. It did sound interesting. However, something in the book he was reading caught his attention. "Hay… Dash? If these books ARE accurate…" He bit his lip, not knowing how to put what he saw.
"What's up?" She asked, now looking over his shoulder. "Oh. I remember that chapter. That was when she went to that place… what was it? Drakeastan?...Centaurya? Something like that. What about it?"
"Look at this." He pointed at a small section of the picture that was on the page, prompting Rainbow to fly off and return with a magnifying lens.
She took a closer look and tilted her head. "I didn't notice that before… what does it mean?" She asked, letting him take a better look.
He took a few moments to examine the picture with the lens before replying. "It means she stumbled on something I doubt she even realized."
"Like what? A mystery?" She asked, now sounding more intrigued.
"More or less." He replied before smiling at her. The look on her face told him she wanted to look into this more. "I'll tell you what. After I get my new place started. We can look into the matter more. Deal?" The two shook hoofs before returning to their reading.
"Not that this isn't fun." The voice in Check's head groaned. "But it's been… What three days? I thought more would have happened by now. Where's the excitement the danger the-"
Just then the door swung open as Pinkie rushed in. "Come quick. It's an emergency!"
"That's more like it." The voice cheered.
"What's up Pinks?" Rainbow asked, looking as relaxed as she was before the interruption. Check for his credit was paying part attention as he examined the rather loud image in the picture. The stallion knew there was no way it was fake. And was happy that it was small enough that most overlooked it.
"Applejack needs help at the barn!" She replied. "And it's my turn to spend time with Check." Both ponies looked at each other sharing a look that screamed 'figures'.
After Rainbow gave Pinkie a sideways look she flew off leaving the two alone. Pinkie smiled and bounced over. "What you doing?"
"Reading Daring Doo." He replied as he flipped between pages. "What were you thinking of doing?" He asked calmly, as he criticized the picture again.
"I was thinking of making some snacks while you look at the picture with a horny beast on it." She chimed.
Check blinked and looked up at Pinkie who was across the room. "Wait what did you say?" He asked, remembering that he was looking at a different picture when she looked over his shoulder.
"Do you want to try a new shake I came up with?" She replied with a big smile. Check sighed as he rolled his eyes. Considering it was best not to question what just happened, he smiled and nodded. "Great. Be right back." Before walking into the other room she tossed him an old looking book. "Oh. You might find this book interesting."
Taking the hint, he picked up the book and started looking through the pages. He scanned each page carefully as he looked for key words and images that were in the Daring Doo book. About half way he stopped and saw what he was looking for. "Found you." He said softly before marking the page as Pinkie came back with the first of what was likely going to be many trays of candy.
"I don't know if I should count this as a round to see how much you can eat." The voice mused. "Or if I should start the next round."
"Please start it." He thought back.
"Very well. Oh… by the way. How do you like cotton candy?" The voice laughed as it faded away.
"Pinkie?"
"Yes?" She asked with a mouthful of what he hoped was ice cream.

"Great. Then at least I'll know if he's just trying to play with my expectations or if he…" Check paused as he saw Pinkie's eyes grow wide. She didn't need to say it. Check knew the real game has begun. "Get the girls." He instructed as he jumped to his feet.
"It's not that." She replied softly.
"Then what?"
"We need to get to Sugarcube Corner. Now!" She instructed as she used her tail to scoop everything up. Before disappearing out the door.
Taking a deep breath, Check put the books in his saddle bag before following her. As he walked down the street he noticed ponies rushing to hide inside as Pinkie shouted about someone coming. Narrowing his eyes he stopped a few feet from the door. Looking at it he saw five of the girls looking back at him. "What are you waiting for? Get in." Looking to the side he saw Twilight approach in confusion before getting snagged and pulled in by Pinkie as Rainbow kept an eye on him. "What are you… too late." She eeped before hiding inside.
Taking a deep breath he turned to see what had the girls so scared. At that moment the voice returned. "Let's play."

Standing in front of him was a hooded figure who looked at him from under her hood. Check glanced back to the shop before looking back to the hooded figure. "I take it you're the one everypony is hiding from." He guessed.
"True as you can see. From me they flee." She replied.
Check tilted his head. "I take it you're not Equestrian. May I see your face?"
She stepped back and lowered her head. "What you ask I can not do. Or flee you will too."
"I give you my word as a gentlecolt. I will not run away." He assured, as he sat with a soft smile.
After a few moments of thought she lifted her hoof to reveal a mohawk of white and black. Check's eyes widened as he looked at her face. "You're a zebra." He gasped as he sat there blinking. Letting out a huff he got up and turned to Sugarcube Corner. "Wait here… please." He requested before walking to the shop and knocked on the door. "It's me. Open up."
"How do we know it's really you?" Pinkie called. "Maybe you're the enchantress slave come to add us to her evil-"
"Would ya huch and give the fella a chance to prove it?" Applejack snapped.
After a few moments Rainbow opened the door. "Ok. First question. What was I reading?"
Check rolled his eyes. "You were rereading Daring Doo. I didn't catch the name. But it was the one that comes after the book I was reading."
"Lucky guess." She chuckled. "What caught your attention in the book you were reading?"
Check smirked and leaned close to whisper in her ear. A moment later she smiled. "It's him." She called over her shoulder. "So. What's up?"
"I want to introduce you to our zebra guest." He replied.
"Zebra?" She replied looking past him at the mare. "I… I guess so." She hesitantly followed Check to where the zebra stood. "Hi. I'm Rainbow Dash. And you already met Check. " She said with a nervous smile.
"I am Zecora dear. Though I fear my presence isn't welcome here." She replied, looking around.
"Yeah… Most ponies are afraid you might put a spell on them." She laughed, rubbing the back of her neck. Upon seeing her soft smile Rainbow noticed she might have guessed as much.
Looking at each other for a moment the other girls soon came out to join them. "So? What brings you to Ponyville?"
"A special flower is what I need. For a remedy of a fearful weed."
"A plant that you only saw in Ponyville I take it?" Check asked, receiving a nod. Turning he smiled at the mare. "You thinking what I'm thinking?" In response, she smiled and nodded before flying over to a nearby shop and knocked on the door as Check asked about the remedy. "... Poison Joke?... sounds like a pain." He laughed. "It's nice that you're making a cure for it."
Looking over at Rainbow, Check smiled at the sight of her talking to a mare. "Thanks. I'll be right back." She said before flying back over to Check and Zecora. "Good news. She's willing to talk." With that the two head over as ponies poke their heads out of their doors before walking out of their doors, one by one and returning to their normal lives.
To Check's delight, the other five ponies came out with their sisters and sat with him and watched as ponies walked up to talk to the new zebra. "Looks like this was an easy conflict that went on for too long." He sighed. Hearing that the girls cringed. "Maybe next time there's a new pony or any newcomer to town… you'll talk it out first."
"Sorry." The girls whimpered in unison.
"We should have put our best hoof forward instead of letting our fears get the better of us." Rarity added.
With a nod, Check made his way back to the library. "That was rather anticlimactic." The voice groaned. "Couldn't even give me a few exciting moments?" The voice huffed.
"Sorry for disappointing you. But I'm not a racist." He thought back. "I get the feeling you don't know what to do. Or more likely you can't do anything more than whisper in someone's ear." After a few moments of silence he went on. "I get that you've got some kind of plan you want to follow. But it's kinda sad."
After a few moments the voice spoke. "I see. Then why don't we mix things up a bit. After all… doing the unexpected is my specialty." The voice laughed.
"We'll see. How about this? If you stump me in one of our little rounds. I'll follow one order." Check replied. "And to make it interesting. Keep it in the limits of the round."

Almost on cue Twilight walked in with a stack of books and a large smile. "Celestia just sent more books!" She chimed, levitating one off the top. "I didn't even know she had some of these."
Check went over to the table and gulped at the title of one of the books. At that moment the voice chuckled. "I already looked at one of the books and noticed a potion recipe for a neat potion. Would you mind helping me make it?"
Check looked at her in shock as the voice laughed. "Fine. I'll let this one slide. I thought she would have done more research first."
"Good. Now I hope you don't plan to say no. Because that might end in losing the round." The voice replied. "I'll save my condition for later."
With a deep breath Check nodded, and received an energetic squee from Twilight seconds before she gave him a hug. "Great. I already got everything I need in the lab" She said looking at the book. "And it looks like it'll be easy to make." She said, leading the way down stairs.
Check followed her to her private lab and shivered at the possible implications of what he agreed to. "So… what do you need me to do?"
"According to this. The potion serves two." She explained looking at the book as she levitated the ingredients into a mixing pot. "I don't know why. But it says that one of us should be tied down after drinking."
Check's ear twitched at her words as the voice laughed. "Twilight. I don't think we should make it."
"Too late." She giggled softly, holding up two shot glasses. "Bottoms up." She cheered, shoving one into his mouth as he was about to say something. With a bit of magic encouragement she got him to swallow as she downed her glass. Smacking her lips Twilight started making notes as she looked at the book.
Time seemed to tick by as something started to fill the air slowly, causing Check's eyes to widen in realization. "Twilight? I think you just made liquid lust."
"Don't be silly." She laughed. "Why would… Celestia…" Her eyes fell on Check causing her heart to skip a beat. "On second thought… maybe we should end this now before we…" She froze as Check's hoof pressed against her lips, causing her to realize that she had crossed the room and was about to kiss him.

Only stopping to note the elevation of her condition. She knew that Check was likely in as much discomfort as she was. "Check." She gulped. "I don't think we have a choice." Fluttershy giggled. "I can see her calling that a date. So you want a smart pet? What else?"
"One that can help me around the house." As they got to the garden he looked around at all the animals. "Preferably not smaller than a squirrel."
"Why is that?"
"Less chance they accidentally get stepped on." He joked. "But mostly it'd be easier to work together."
Fluttershy thought for a moment before looking over at a squirrel that was curled up on what looked like a dog's back. "Well… I do have two smart animals. But… they're well…"
Check went over to them and smiled softly at the two. "Like brothers." Hearing his words the squirrel got up and jumped onto his back as the dog waited for a moment before giving Check a soft nuzzle.
"Oh my. It looks like they want you to be their new brother. Or at least a close friend." Fluttershy cheared.
Check smiled and nodded. "Thank you Fluttershy. I think I… I mean we'll have plenty of fun together."
The three start to head out before Fluttershy gasps. "Oh… ummm… but… I should give you a few things to help you with caring for your new friends." She called before quickly looking around as many thoughts and feelings fought for her attention.
Check smiled back at her and nodded. "Ok. Let's go see what you have then."
Fluttershy gulped and nodded before leading him into her house. "Oh… it's getting late… maybe you should… stay the night…. I mean… if that's OK with you…"
Check thought for a moment. "If you insist. But I'll stay in the living room. If I recall my studies on the matter. Animals bond better when treated like equals."
"Oh yes." Fluttershy chimed. "My animal friends just love to cuddle. It makes them feel safe and wanted."
Check couldn't help noticing where a few of said animals were looking. "I see." He replied. As if sensing Check's thought on what he saw, the dog growled at the animals as they passed. "Then you wouldn't mind if we took the living room floor?"
Gasping, Fluttershy spun around and nearly ended up kissing Check. "Oh nononono I refuse to let a guest sleep on the floor." She instructed. Before she was able to stop herself she blurted. "I insist you sleep in bed with me."
Check blinked as he stood in shock at what he heard. 'I am so dead.' He thought. 'Either from the cuteness or somepony is going to literally kill me. One way or the other I'm dead meat.'

Check took a deep breath. "I don't think that's a great idea. If I'm going to bond with them, then unless you have a large bed, I don't really think we'll all fit."
She shook her head with a soft smile as she led the way inside her house. "Don't worry. I sometimes let Harry sleep in the bed with me. He's a big cuddle bug." She giggled. "I'm sure he'll understand."
Even though Check trusted her, he didn't really think her animal friends would like a random stallion jumping into the bed with her.
It wasn't till Fluttershy spoke again that Check realized he had drifted off into his thoughts. "I really should stop doing that." He sighed to himself. Looking around he saw they had made it to her bedroom. And sure enough, the bed was large enough for them all to fit. Granted he'd have to position them so that Fluttershy was opposite from him and still felt safe. However unlikely that was considering their sizes.
Moving over to the bed Fluttershy hopped in and motioned for them to join. Instantly the two animals curled up letting Fluttershy wrap herself around them. "Traitors." Check grumbled as he positioned himself so he was on his stomach next to them opposite of Fluttershy. It might not have been the best position to sleep. But it did the job of keeping distance between them… for the most part.
"Oh my. Seems we're in agreement there." The voice laughed. "She does have such a… lovely scent to her."
"I hate you." He thought back, before slowly drifting to sleep.
In the dream scape
Waving his hoof over the field, a few stallions moved to the front of the line. It didn't take long for most of them to turn on the mares. Stomping his hoof the bord reset.
"Planning your next investigation?" Luna asked as she sat next to him.
"I prefer the term preemptive defensive measures." He replied, eyeing the field again. "I may not be able to predict his next move. But I can plan for possible localized threats." He paused and picked up a mini Zephyr. "Too bad I'm not the violent type." He sighed before putting him far away from a mini Rainbow.
Luna stifled a chuckle and slid his mini between the girls. "If you ask me. This might help matters."
Looking at the seven minis Check rubbed his chin. "Working with them would allow me to protect Equestria better."
Luna sighed and rolled her eyes before pressing up against him. "Is that the only thing you can think might come from this?"
He watched as the mini Pinkie looked up at him and waved. "We have a spy."
Looking down Luna instantly snatched the mini Pinkie in her magic. "That's it you're going to the bad Pinkie corner." She huffed before stomping off. "And to think. I was sooo close to getting up the nerve to ask him." She grumbled after leaving the dream.
With a sigh of relief from the silence, Check looked over the field again. This time when he waved his hoof. Everything but the six remaining ponies vanished and they soon grew so he saw more detail on their faces, as they sat in a circle. "Am I satisfied with this?"
Looking over each of the mares he stopped and looked at his own face. He hadn't considered it before. But now that he was looking at it. He looked… practiced. Taking a deep breath he sighed as the mini's face changed to mimic how he felt. "Something tells me a second opinion is in order."
Closing his eyes he prepared to wake up and hoped that he'd be able to talk to a stallion about what was going on.
"COME ON!!!!!"

Check looked down at the mare he thought was cuddled up to his pets. However, what he saw instead was a mare holding him like he was a teddy bear. "I think I just entered it." Check admitted. Letting out a sigh he turned away. "I should go before-"

"Oh… I mean… if you want… I can help you get through your rut. My brother has a hard time with his rut all the time. So I know how hard it is for a stallion to deal with their rut. But if you think it'd be… I mean…" She let out a squeak as the squirrel shoved her flank. Fluttershy looked back at the squirrel and lowered her voice. "I know he's trying to be nice. But I don't want to… but isn't that going a bit far?... no… I guess you have a point…" taking a deep breath, she turned back to face Check who was now looking between the two. "You can… put it in me."
Check's jaw dropped. He couldn't believe he just heard HER say THAT of all things. "I… I should go… something is going on and I need to look into it." Without another word he ran out the door, soon after being followed by his pets.
Fluttershy sat on her bed for a moment as her eyes widened in realization of what she had said. She quickly shoved her face into the pillows whimpering. "What was I thinking?" Over and over again.
Check somehow made his way to his business and slid to a stop at the sight of a couple ponies he recognized instructing the workers. Rainbow Dash was instructing pegasi in getting things through the window for the living area. Which for some reason included a second bed.
As for the main floor, Twilight was instructing ponies on where to put things. And was doing a rather good job at keeping contact with Rainbow about the best place to put things. Though she didn't seem to know why Rainbow would include the second bed.
Even though he would think that this would be nice to see. The view didn't really help him with his current problem. Looking around Check made a v line for one of the side streets in hopes to avoid another awkward situation. Sadly he ended up running face first right into one.
Luckily he managed to slide to a stop before knocking the pony over. However, the position he ended up in was much worse than he hoped. Namely, his face was shoved up against the mare's flank. A moment of silence passed before Applejack let out a short laugh. "Y'all kidding me… right?... and y'all turned her down?"

"All the above." Check sighed, hanging his head. "I know it sounds weird but I'd rather not try anything with her… not now at least."

Check sighed. "Yeah. But it's best that I avoid such awkward situations. Even though I think I just caused one."

"Two questions. Does that include you? And why?"

"I better get my business going then." He laughed.

"I take it there's another but comin."

"Do ya really want to know? Or will ya be happy not remembering it?" She asked. Seeing him gulp as he followed she smiled. "Don't worry. I don't need ya just yet. But y'all need a drink and to take care of y'all's friend there." Knowing she was right, Check sighed and followed with a nod.
"I really need to think of a way out of this mess. Before I end up with a harem." He thought.

After making his way home, Check groaned and sat at his desk before pouring a glass of coffee. The memories of what he did were foggy. But looking at his saddlebag told him that, either he should look now to know what to expect. Or wait and see if any of the girls show up to-.

Check sat back and thought for a moment. "Well what she's doing is important. What concerns me is, why'd that'd have you come to me?"
"She said that her future self told her. And it's happening in a few days." Sweetie replied.
Blinking, Check got up and made his way to the door and swiftly flipped the sign to closed. "Then I don't have time to lose."
"You're taking this really well." Sweetie said as she followed him out.
"Sweetie. I had to deal with a love sucking bug that had mind controlling powers, and a psychotic God's voice in my head." He laughed as they made their way to the tree library. "I think time travel is a bit tame in comparison."
Once they arrived, Check thanked Sweetie and went inside. "Twilight?"
"She's over there." Spike sighed.
Taking a deep breath, Check he saw her looking over papers and looked through telescopes. "No corkboard, red string… but there are a bunch of papers." He sighed in relief before moving over to Twilight who was starting to worry. "Twilight. Tell me what happened. And give me all the details."
Taking a deep breath she started with what happened when she got home that morning. "I'm surprised you didn't hear Cerberus." She pointed out.
"I was sleeping off my hangover and taking care of some papers." He explained. "Carry on."
After a bit more exploration she sighed. "And there's only two signs left."
Check smirked and shook his head. "Sounds like a classic case of paradoxical events." He sighed.
"Why are you so calm about this?" Twilight asked.
"Twilight. First, stop Spike from eating ice cream." He replied.
Blinking, Twilight took the ice cream from Spike. "Now what?"
"Think." He replied. "If you had a chance right now to go back in time and tell yourself that something important like a party was coming. How would you react?"
Twilight thought for a moment and looked at her reflection. "I'd think something bad was coming." She sighed. "But how is this a paradox? Unless…" She gasped in realization.
Nodding, Check smiled. "Right. That Twilight did the same thing. And the only way to break the chain is to stop yourself now."
"But I-"
"Already made Equestria safer, got the guard dog back to his post. And realized that your future self was trying to stop you from making the same mistakes she did." Check pointed out. "Unless something did get out while the big guy was away. Then don't worry. I'll look into it. You relax." Turning to the door he sighed. "Maybe cleaning your mess will help you unwind."
"Thanks Check… maybe I'll swing by later for some tea." Twilight sighed in relief as she started cleaning with a light blush.
"Always glad to help." He replied before going outside. After a few feet he looked around and pulled out a whistle. After blowing it, a bat pony poked its head out of some bushes. "Check to see if anything got out of Tartarus. Report to the princesses and then to me if what they say. We don't want to be caught off guard." With a nod the bat pony vanished back into the bush to wait for nightfall.
Taking a deep breath he returned home. "Let's hope nothing big happens before we learn more about what may have gotten out." He sighed.
As he walked to his door, Check saw the kids getting on the train with their teacher. "A field trip. How nice." He sighed as he stepped inside and spotted a picture of the Canterlot statue garden. His eyes widened as one figure caught his attention. And in the back of his mind the voice laughed. "Discord."

Yes this is out of order. But I just had to get it out of the way. Plus had her friends stopped and did what Check did, then it would have at least saved us from a predictable ending. And I thought it would be a fitting way to lead into the grand arrival for everyone's favorite draconequus.
Discord's games: ready, set, wait?
Check rushed to the library and slammed through the door, causing the girls to look at him in shock. Seeing Twilight, Check rushed over. "Quick. Where's your on Myths, legends and prophecies?"
Twilight blinked. "Why do you ask?"
"Discord."
Blinking, Twilight levitated over a book. "I don't know why you want to hear an old mare's tale."
"Says the pony that got worked up over a mare's tale." Check countered.
"Point taken." Twilight sighed. Opening the book she scanned through it and stopped at a page. "Found it."
Check took it and looked over what it said. "I see. That's what I figured. We have to move."
"What's the matter?" Applejack asked.
"You're princess made a terrifying mistake." Check replied as Twilight gasped in disbelief.
"What do you mean by that? What could she have made a mistake on?" Twilight rambled.
"Where she put the lord of chaos. She has him sitting in the stone garden." Check explained, waiting for a moment to see if anypony would catch on. "THE KIDS ARE GOING TO THE GARDEN!"
"Your point?" Applejack asked bluntly.
Check facehoofed. "Think about it. What does Discord desire most? Chaos and disharmony. What better examples are there than kids?"
The girls thought for a moment before Applejack shook her head. "I know my little sister. She wouldn't act up in a nice place like that."
"Agreed." Rarity added. "Sweetie Belle is a smart filly. She knows better than to get involved in such nonsense."
"They're blank flanks in a class with kids that already have their cutie marks. And if my hunch is correct. Which thankfully it normally is. Two entitled fillies that will make fun of them at the first chance they get. Heck. For all we know right now. Sweetie might make a smart comment and her own friend might poke fun of it." Check countered.
"Why would they do something like that?" Rainbow asked.
"Probably for the same reason you guys make jokes about each other." Check, surmised. "Because you think you know your friend enough you can joke around with each other about silly things. Like Twilight being an egghead."
After a few moments the group blinked in realization and quickly moved to prepare for a trip to Canterlot. Check let out a sigh of relief and he followed them out.
"Looks like the next round is about to begin." He sighed to himself as they sat at the station in wait for the train.
Several hours later they arrived at Canterlot where they quickly made their way to the castle. "Wait with the princess till I get there. I'll check on the kids." He announced.
Just then a guard came over. "If you're looking for the kids. They already left."
Check sighed and thought for a moment. "Then take me to the Discord statue." He ordered. The guard opened his mouth to argue, but quickly nodded as Check pulled out his badge. "Now."
Once they got to the statue, Check dismissed the guard. After a few moments he looked at the statue. "You can drop the act now. We're alone."
After a moment the statue blinked as it's gray eyes were replaced with yellow ones. Moments later it's body changed to it's normal appearance, as the draconequus sat on the stand. "Well well well. We finally meet face to face. And that's how you greet me? I'm hurt."
"Having you in my head this whole time kinda took away from the joy a bit." Check sighed before smirking. "Though I doubt you'd know what having a voice in your head would be like."
Discord shoved his claw into his ear for a few moments before pulling it out, showing a mini him. "I wouldn't say that." He laughed.
Check shook his head. "Let's not beat around the bush. What's the next round going to be?"
"Well I was hoping that you'd hook up with one or two of the girls by now. But that clearly didn't work." He huffed. "So how about this? I'll propose a game to them. If I can make each of them fail. Then our game will begin. Otherwise…" He shrugged. "I'll be stone and back in your head for another grand adventure."
"And let me guess. I'm not allowed to intervene?"
"Bingo!" Discord cheered. "I may be the lord of chaos. But between you and me. Those girls would benefit a lot from what I have planned for them." He laughed. "And to make things more interesting. How about if I let you pick the punishment for their failure?... or the readers." He shrugged. "Whichever comes first."
Check sighed and shook his head and turned to leave. "Fine. Not like I have a choice."
Discord snapped his claw as a cage appeared around him. "No you don't. And don't worry. If I win the round. I'll let you go to start our game." He laughed before vanishing in a flash.
Check sighed as screens appeared that focused on each of the girls. "At least it's in HD." He laughed to himself.

What do you guys think the punishment for losing should be? Oh how should he corrupt them? I was considering on following the show on this. But that sounded a bit predictable. Let's spice it up. Any ideas?
Discord's games: magic and rainbows
As Check arrived in Ponyville he looked around at the town, the first thing he noticed was how several of the ponies were acting differently. The second was that other than the predictable insanity one would expect from the lord of chaos. There were stallions and mares going into a few of the buildings with a look of exhaustion and coming out with smiles.
Honestly it was a bit concerning. But that can be taken care of some other time. First he had to find the girls and see if he could undo whatever Discord did.
As he made his way down the street, he saw Twilight make her way down the street. Smiling, he quickly made his way over, Check slid to a stop at the look on her face. The once confident smile on her face was replaced with a cold depressed steer. "Twilight?" He asked.
"Friend?" She asked. Thow her words were hopeful, her toan sounded twisted and hysterical.
"Yes, Twilight. We're friends. And we need to help our other friends." He replied, keeping his distance in hopes she doesn't use her magic.
"Don't leave me." She cried, as she slowly walked toward him.
Check's mind raced for what to do. Without knowing the state of the others, there was little he could do. However, that may just be the very lead he needs. "Twilight? I promise I'll come back. I just need to check on the other girls. I'll meet you at the library."
Twilight blinked for a moment as her smile turned sultry. "You don't need to check on them right away. Do you? I mean. We can spend some time at the library. Just you and me."
"What about Spike?"
"I can just send him to Rarity's. That'll give us all day together." She replied as she circled around him.
"You're not worried something might be wrong with your friends?"
Twilight huffed and shook her head. "I don't need them when I have you."
Check turned to face Twilight. "No."
"What?"
"I'm flattered that you want to spend time with me." He huffed. "But this isn't you. You are the element of magic. You brought the group together. And right now, they need you. The real you." Twilight stood in shock as her eyes were locked with his. "And right now. I need you to go to the library and think of all the things you did with your friends. And when I get back. Then we'll talk."
With that he turned away leaving her to collapse in the street. With a large blush forming on her face. "I… think I should take a shower first." She told herself before rushing to the library.
Check let out a sigh. Now that he had a clue about what was happening. He had to find the others and hope they weren't too far gone. Or at the least, they were more cooperative.
As if to answer his unspoken question on who to seek next. A blue blur scooped him up and flung him into a cloud home. Moments later Rainbow Dash landed on top of him with a hungry smile.
"Rainbow. Don't."
"Don't what? Make you the luckiest stallion in Equestria?" She asked, licking her lips.
"This isn't you talking. It's Discord's magic."
Rainbow huffed and tossed her mane back. "Please. Like he has anything to do with us having some fun together."
"Really?" Check asked, tapping into his knowledge of her and her love for Daring Doo. "Didn't Doo have to deal with a group posed?"
"That was a pony that got his hooves on ancient magic that…" She sat back and blinked. "Wait. Are you telling me I'm possessed?"
"Yes. And we need to get you and your friends back together and fix this." He replied.
Rainbow tapped her chin. "I see your point. But can't we have a little fun first? I don't think I'll be able to fly right after… well."
Check sighed. "Take a cold shower and meet me at the library. I'll get the others and meet you there. Something tells me the six of you are all in the same boat."
Rainbow blinked and blushed. "I should get Fluttershy then. She might be shy most of the time. But if you're right. We can't risk it."
Check nodded, and after being let up started for the window. "I should head to the farm then. And work my way to the library."
"Don't take too long. No telling how long we'll last without you." Rainbow teased.
With a fearful sigh, Check took off. Now that he knew what was going on. Or at least most of it. The pieces started to move into place. He just hoped this wasn't another attempt by Discord to hook him up. Because if so. It was a very bad move.
"No one plays with my friends' hearts." He thought darkly. "No one."

Check landed on the path that led to the Apple family house. He forced himself to stop and calm down. "It's not proper for a gentlecolt to arrive at a mare's home in a raged state of mind." He sighed to himself.
He sat and closed his eyes. There was one way he knew to calm himself. And at a time like this, it worked in more than one way.
Within his mind he sat before a model of Ponyville, complete with pony figures in different positions. He extended a hoof over the border causing Rainbow and Fluttershy to move to the library.
"Three out of five in place." He sighed before spotting a mini Discord sitting in the park. Huffing, he turned his attention to the farm. "Honesty… that will be easy to take care of. A lie of a lie is simple to break." He laughed before turning to the final two locations. "Laughter and generosity on the other hoof…" rubbing his chin a plan began to form in his head. "Perhaps… a similar move would work." Gulping a smile crept across his face. "Looks like I'll need to use some of my brother's tricks to win this one."
As he opened his eyes, two sets of eyes met his. Blinking, he looked around before hanging his head. "How long was I out?"
"If y'all mean that whole, moving with your eyes closed?" Apple Bloom asked. Long enough for us to get ya here and for Sweetie to get ya hard."
"So about thirty minutes. Not too bad." He sighed looking out the window. "Look. I understand you girls are probably at the age of exploring sex. But I have important things I need to take care of. And right now, I need to speak with Applejack."
"On one condition." Bloom replied with a smirk. "Y'all got to help Scootaloo first."
"What's wrong with her?" He asked. The two turn and point to the corner where Scootaloo sat. Check bit his lip as he looked at her. It was only for a moment but he saw his little brother in her place. Without a word, he got up and went to sit with Scootaloo.
After a few moments he used a wing to pull her close. As soon as he felt her press against him, she broke into tears and hugged his leg. "I'm going to end up a crazy cat lady."
"Why do you say that?" He asked softly, gently stroking her back.
"I… I can't fly."
"So?" He asked, causing her to look at him in surprise. "If that's your only problem, then you should be happy. Smiling, he added with a wink. "I hear there's a stallion that can't hold a job or flirt with a mare. And he can fly."
Knowing who matched the description, Scootaloo hid her face under his wing as she snickered for a moment. "But stallions always go for a mare that can fly. I'm hopeless. I don't even have normal sized wings."
Check sighed and brushed her horse mane back. "There's a story back home I want to tell you about someone who went through something similar to what you're going through now…"
After getting asked about the story, he told her about the orphan that grew to be bigger and more beautiful than those that laughed at him.
"Who knows. Maybe you'll grow to be the best flier with the most beautiful wings of Equestria." He finished.
A few moments of silence passed as she thought about what he said. She closed her eyes and sighed. "It's… not that simple."
"What do you mean?"
"I think the teacher said the term was… I'm a runt." She sniffed. "I look younger than I am… by a few years."
"That explains the size of your wings. But not why you think-"
"Because no stallion wants a useless runt for a mate." Scootaloo snapped.
Check thought for a moment as he went through his mental library of knowledge of this world. Taking a deep breath he sighed. It was going to suck and take up his already limited time. But he had to help her. And there was no way he'd let anyone go through… that again. "Scootaloo? How old are you?"
"Old enough." She sighed.
Check thought for a moment and smiled. "Well… how about we make a deal? Your friends and I will ask around if a colt would be interested in dating you."
"We already tried." Sweetie sighed. "Even bribed a few of them. But none want to be with her."
"Too young… too old… flightless freak… whelp… hen…" Scootaloo whimpered.
Check's eye twitched at the list before he slapped a wing over her mouth. "Any colt that says such things doesn't deserve you. I want you to remember that." He was going to regret his next words. But he had things to do. And with any luck, it would come in handy later. "If no other pony stallion or mare will be with you… Then I will."
"Promise?" Scootaloo asked.
"I promise. But first, I need to help the girls and Equestria get back to normal."
Scootaloo leaned up and kissed his lips. "Then… I want to help."
"Cutie Mark Crusaders are ready to save our friends!" The three cheered in unison.
Smiling, Check stood. "Then how about you help get Pinkie or Rarity to the library? We need to get them back to normal."
With a nod, Apple Bloom and Sweetie rushed out talking about who they'll get. Scootaloo bit her lip and looked back at Check. "Are you going to help Dash too?"
"Of course. But one thing before you go. Did Discord do anything to you and your friends?"
"Not to me." Scootaloo sighed. "He said it wouldn't be fun picking on a…"
"At least he has limits he won't cross." Check sighed. "While your friends are getting the others. I need you to swing by the library and see who all is there. Come let me know."
"Got it." Scootaloo replied before hopping onto her scooter and zipping off.
"Now to get Applejack." Check told himself before making his way to the barn.

I ages Scootaloo up a little. But not by much. I understand that this chapter may turn folks away. But it will build to something. Let me know if you guys want more of a back story on what's going on. Or if you think Check should end up with somepony else too.
Check made his way to the house. However, as he was passing the barn, he heard something in the barn. Blinking, he turned and noticed a sign.
*come fuck this lying mare*
Taking a deep breath he groaned and went into the barn. He had a good idea on who it was. And an equally good idea on how he was going to break the spell on her. Regrettably that meant yet another mare he'd likely need to please.
Once inside the barn the first thing he say was Applejack tied up between two pillars like some kind of kink swing. Her legs were tight against her body and tail was pulled to the side giving him full access to her private parts.
"Of all the girls. You're the last I expected to jump to this decision." He laughed as he approached. Seeing her twitch in response to hearing him, he smiled and went up next to her. "So… tell me. Have you really given up? Oh and before you answer. Know that I will take what you say as fact. And if it's a lie. There's a high chance you won't be lying by the time I pull out."
Applejack gulped and turned her head away from him as her body quivered at the thought of being ravaged by him. "Good. Because I want it hard." She replied before blinking in shock of what she said.
Rolling his eyes he moved to her back. "Oh? Does that mean you want me to go raw too?"
Applejack quivered nervously, she was scared of replying, but a slap to her flank caused her to blurt out. "Please rut me hard!"
With a sigh he mounted her and rubbed his tip against her for a moment before thrusting into her as far as he could. Which to his surprise wasn't really that far considering how long it had been since they got to town.
As she let out a cry of pain he started thrusting into her. He had a feeling this was going to take a while and prayed that she would either be honest or ask for him to stop.
Scootaloo sped down the street to check on her friends after confirming that Rainbow was at the library. Apparently Rainbow had stopped off at her friends' house but failed at convincing them to come over. It wasn't going to be easy. But she would have to get her fellow Crusaders to help get the others to the library.
Arriving at Rarity's house, she looked into the window and saw Rarity had her sister tied up with a vibrater strapped to her pussy. Luckily the window was cracked open so she was able to hear them.
"So… you said I can have Check if I go to the library?" Rarity asked softly.
"Yes." Sweetie moaned.
"Oh what I'd do to be filled with such a…" stomping her hoof, Rarity untied her sister. "Very well. But I expect a little treat from my sister when I get back. Till then I suppose you can go play with your friends."
Scootaloo ducked out of sight and waited for Sweetie to stumble out. After scooping her into the wagon, Scootaloo sped over to find Apple Bloom and Pinkie.
The two sat outside as Bloom trotted over with a smile and cum on her face.
"I take it she's going?" Scootaloo asked.
"Yeah. But we have to convince Fluttershy and my sister to go too. Then join them at the library." Bloom replied.
Nodding, the three made their way to Fluttershy's cottage. However, as they were crossing the bridge…
"Something isn't right." Scootaloo observed. "It's too quiet." As she looked back to her friends, a fox jumped out of a bush and tackled Sweetie Belle into a nearby bush. Seconds later a group of bunnies did the same to Apple Bloom. Panicking, Scootaloo sped to the door and quickly knocked.
"Sorry. But the door is jammed." Fluttershy called from inside. "Would you mind using the back door?"
Scootaloo looked back to see a large bear coming for her. Without a second thought she quickly made her way for the backyard where she slid to a stop at the sight of her friends being ravaged by several animals.
Fluttershy came out the back door of her cottage and smiled at the sight before turning to Scootaloo. "Why don't you join the fun? Angel and his friends were hoping to spend time with you."
Gulping, Scootaloo smiled. "I would… but we have to go to the library and meet Check with the others."
Fluttershy tapped a hoof to her chin. "They're at the library? Maybe I can join them… but… who would take care of my animal friends?"
"Well…"
Fluttershy tilted her head as she smiled at Scootaloo. Normally it was a warm welcoming expression. But somehow it seemed dark. "Or maybe they should be the ones taking care of you. And your naughty friends."
Scootaloo's eyes widened in fear. "But… but…"
"How about this? I'll go to the library. And you stay and play with the animals." She giggled.
"But." Was all she was able to get out before she was jumped and tied down as rabbits lined up to have their way with her.
"Oh and don't worry. They'll fill you nicely. After all, I was able to get a potion that helped them grow." Fluttershy giggled. "And Angela has been holding out. Just for you. Oh. And he's a 'big' boy." Fluttershy flew over and kissed Scootaloo's check. "Be a good girl and have fun. Or I'll have to get one of my bigger friends to punish you." With that she left the girls to their fate.

Things are spicing up and the question is still out there. Who will Check end up with. But now it seems there's more question that's going to come up. Thoughts?
Gathering for the showdown
Applejack bit her lips as Check thrusted into her, forcing her to bite her lip in order to keep herself from speaking. The more he thrusted into her the harder it was for her to stay silent. Then with one hard thrust, she cried out. "Rut me harder!"
Check leaned over to her ear and asked. "Are you enjoying this? Do you really want to be treated like a breeding bitch?"
"Yes. I want to be a bitch. But I'm not enjoying this." She panted.
Huffing he pulled out and untied her. "If that's true. Then you should head over to the library. I might be able to make it feel better there." With a smirk he went to the barn door as she wobbly got to her feet. "And if you're lying… then come to the library and we can make things right." With that he left her to think about what he said.
As Check made his way down the street, he noticed Scootaloo had yet to show up. Stopping at the main crossroad he closed his eyes to think of what might have happened. After a moment of thought, he opened his eyes and took off into the air and flew over to Fluttershy's hut. "Hopefully they took care of the others already."
Looking down on the back yard he saw Scootaloo trying to crawl away from a group of rabbits as her friends waited eagerly for another round. Rolling his eyes, Check flew down and scooped them up, one at a time and moved them to the front yard.
When he landed with Scootaloo to join the others next to the scooter he turned and glared at the approaching animals. "Back off." He ordered.
Thankfully they backed away as Scootaloo slowly got up. "Sorry I didn't come back."
"It's fine. I had a feeling something would happen regardless." Check replied, before turning to smile at her. "Glad to see at least one of you held in there for so long. Did you get the others to go to the library?"
"Yes I did. But I don't think I'll be able to get to the library in my condition." Scootaloo whimpered.
Check grabbed a nearby vine and tied it to the scooter. "Hold on tight."
Scootaloo smiled and held on as Check galloped down the street. She tried her best to focus on anything but the view in front of her. But once Sweetie noticed her actions, she used her magic to force her to look. "Look at the size of those Scootaloo." She teased. "I bet he'd be able to fill us up a few times with those, and still be able to go more."
Scootaloo gulped in concern that she might not survive the trip to the library if her friends didn't stop soon.
At the library, Twilight looked through yet another book as she rubbed against a trapped Spike. "I'm really sorry Spike. But… If I'm going to get any work done. I'm going to need you to put your dick in me soon."
Rainbow rolled her eyes before looking out the window. "Whatever you two are planning, can you do it quietly so I can focus on looking for Check? He said he'd rut my brains out if I came here."
"Really? Because my Pinkie sense says he's not going to do that unless we can beat Discord." Pinkie announced. "Or… he's going to plow all of us a few times."
"I don't know about the rest of you. But I'm going to get what I want. And that's a piece of that sexy rod of his." Fluttershy giggled.
"You girl should consider yourself with finding a stallion more your speed. Because he's mine." Rarity hissed.
Twilight sighed as she set down her book and glanced at her notes. "He'll be here soon, girls." Twilight announced. "And if he succeeds at what he's planning. Then I have no doubt that we'll also be able to beat Discord."
Luna paced back and forth in the throne room. "There has to be something we can do to help the girls defeat Discord."
"Sadly Discord has taken our horns sister." Luna sighed.
"Oh sweet Luna. Such misplaced trust you have in your sister's student." Discord teased as he sat on a pile of pluches. "After all. They already failed. And are enjoying their new lives."
"You lie, monster." Luna snapped.
Discord smirked. "Would you like to see what they were doing just a few hours ago? With your precious detective?" He mocked.
Celestia and Luna looked at each other in concern before turning to him and nodding. Smirking he snapped his claw and showed them images of Check thrusting into the girls.
Both princesses blushed as Luna cleared her throat. "Regardless. I trust he knows what he's doing."
Discord huffed as he turned away. Snapping his claw, the image vanished. "Fine. But it's doubtful his plan will work." He paused to smirk. "At least without consequences." Laughing he vanished in a flash.
Sighing, Luna got up and left the room. "I need to take care of a few things."
"Me too." Celestia sighed. "Starting with deciding what to do if he's right."

This round is taking it's time. Lol don't know if I should have there be an orgy now or later. Or when somepony will fall. But there is a good chance that Check is going to regret his actions. Lol
Applejack stood in the barn thinking about what Check said. Blinking she smiled and pranced out of the barn. It was surprising how skillfully he turned Discord's curse against itself. Not only that but he hit a spot that no stallion had before. And in ways no stallion even got close to.
Humming to herself she considered what exactly she can do to get him to be more interested in her. Even though she thought her friends had a slightly better chance with him than she did. She still wanted to have that chance.
She stopped as the thought of wanting him for herself came to the front of her mind. She huffed, and shook her head to try and rid herself of the thoughts. She definitely didn't need to be thinking about that… at least not yet.
Taking a deep breath she started off again to meet up with the others.
Twilight moaned as Spike pushed into her as was trapped under her. She scanned her friends and smiled as Fluttershy went over to Spike's head and sat on it. "He'd be in heaven if that was Rarity." She thought as she rolled her eyes at Fluttershy moaning as Spike went to work licking her. Taking a deep breath she looked over as Rarity bit her lip as her legs shook in desire to take Spike from them.
Rarity knew he wouldn't mind if she did that. But she also knew they would be happy if she left him with them. Huffing she turned away and thought about what it meant and what she should do.
"AJ's coming!" Rainbow announced in annoyance with a groan.
"Really?" Twilight called back. "Do you see Check?"
"No. But I see a lot of other ponies passing by. And an old one just staring at us." Rainbow sighed.
Twilight blinked in shock as Applejack entered. Looking around the earth pony sighed and sat in a corner trying not to give into the temptation to speak or join in until Check arrived.
Thinking for a moment Twilight called over to Rainbow. "What is the old pony doing?"
Grateful for the distraction, Rainbow focused her attention on the pony in question. "Still looking at the library." She called back before noticing him slowly looking up at her. Blinking she pulled back slightly as she watched him slowly smile at her. "I think he sees me." She noted before looking around a bit for Check.
Check sighed as a white stallion joined her on the walk. "It's really odd don't you think?" The stallion asked. "Discord is back and there's hardly anything out of place. Well… other than a few ponies here and there acting differently."
"True." Check replied as he stopped at the feeling of Scootaloo getting her face shoved into his balls. Looking back he sighed. "Would you three mind stopping so we can get to the library before sunset."
Tapping a hoof to his chin, the stallion smiled and moved Scootaloo onto Check's back. "There now she can enjoy your scent while the other two enjoy the view."
"Thanks." Check sighed before continuing the trip. "I'm definitely going to need a drink after this." He sighed.
"I can make a few recommendations if you'd like." The stallion said as he kept pace. "Besides, drinking with others is much funner than when you drink alone."
"Maybe. But less trouble happens when you drink alone" He sighed. "But I guess I can try your suggestion. I just need to find somepony I feel comfortable with."
"What about Twilight?" The stallion suggested. "She could use a drink or two." He laughed.
"I can think of a few things she could use." Check laughed. "But I don't think I'm ready for a drink with her yet."
"Pinkie?... never mind. I don't think even she's ready to drink with herself." The stallion laughed. "How about AJ?"
"Surprisingly, she's a lightweight." Check mentioned.
"Rarity?... never mind. She's more of a wine drinker… Rainbow Dash?"
Check rubbed his chin. "Maybe. Just as long as nothing comes up. I don't really want to get her in trouble. I doubt she'd be very forgiving if I'm the cause of her getting in trouble."
"Or she might like a bit of trouble in her life." The stallion laughed.
Luna sat in her room looking over her notes as she thought about what to do about what she saw as Celestia sat in her room with her own checklist.
"Let's see… I think the best pick would be…. Twilight and Check." Celestia giggled as she looked over possible gift ideas. "Then again. He does look like he'd be a good match for the others as well." She sighed and looked back at the list with a huff. "This is going to take quite a bit of thinking."
Luna huffed as she tossed another crumpled scroll into the pile. "Great. I can't find nor think of anything that may help with this." She bit her lip, thankful that she was alone in her room as the thought came to her. "I just love that about him. Such a clever mind."

Twilight moaned as Spike Fluttershy Rarity
Twilight looked up at Rainbow and easily guessed from her facial expression. Check arrived. She looked at her other friends and guessed that they all had similar thoughts about whether or not they should rut him or watch the others do it while they had fun with Spike. She had to admit that the thought of having him penetrate her depths was a growing temptation. But the fact it ment that she was OK with incest was the only thing that was keeping her from actually giving in.
As the door opened, all eyes turned to the newcomers as Check and the CMC. As he entered the library, Check looked around and smiled at seeing his plan had worked. After setting Scootaloo down he suggested for the three to go spend time with Spike while he talked with their sisters.
"Ok girls. Before we get to the fun that you're waiting for. There's something we need to talk about." Check announced.
Twilight and her friends looked at each other in confusion before sitting in front of him. "What do you mean?" She asked softly.
"It's rather simple really." He replied with a smile. "Each of you have already started breaking Discord's spell."
"What are ya talking about?" Applejack asked.
"Back at the barn I gave you the chance to come and prove you're not a sluty cow." Check pointed out with a smile. "The fact that you're here proves that a part of you knows that you're not. And seeing you arrive so quickly, shows that you had the willpower to pass all the stallions between the barn and here." As he spoke, Applejack thought about what he was saying. "And even now, you're able to sit still instead of lifting your tail in anticipation." And with that, Applejack's eyes shot open wide in realization.
"That's all well and good darling. But what about the rest of us?" Rarity asked.
"If you were truly greedy, you wouldn't have wasted your time coming here and waiting for me to arrive. Your time would have been too precious to be given away to anyone." He replied before turning to Fluttershy. "If you were cruel, I wouldn't have seen any of your animal friends with smiles when I arrived at your hut to get the CMC. Not to mention that Spike seems to have enjoyed having you sit on his face."
Fluttershy and Rarity thought about what he said before smiling in realization. Pinkie huffed and glared at him as he simply smiled at her. After a few moments she blinked and facehoofed before giggling.
He turned to Rainbow Dash and was about to speak before she snapped. "I get it. I stayed instead of just flying off or going out to scoop you up." She huffed. "But fair is fair. Are you going to give us what you promised?"
"That is a good point." Check replied. "But I wonder if you think I'd be better to do it after defeating Discord as a victorious sex season."
The girls looked at each other for a moment before smiling at him. After a few moments they jumped on him in a group hug. "Once again you save the day." Twilight laughed before getting up and passing out the elements. "Ready girls?"
Applejack thought for a moment before whispering in Spike's ear before rejoining her friends. Meanwhile Scootaloo went up to Check and smiled up at him hopefully. Rolling his eyes, Check watched as the girls went out to face Discord. Turning to Scootaloo he patted her head. "Why don't we wait a few more minutes before doing that?"
She found for a moment before cuddling up to him for a minute before joining the others.

No lie. This is how I felt when I saw the episode. Applejack only said what she thought were lies. Rainbow's loyalty... was tricked. Rarity fell in love with a rock. Fluttershy turned into a deva. Pinkie forget how to enjoy things.
Anyway, what do you think should come next?

Return and start of "harmony"
Check let out a sigh before sitting back on a chair as he looked through one of the Daring Doo books he was examining before. Turning to look out the window. He wondered how long it'd take for them to finish. He was confident that he covered all his bases.
As a bright wall of light passed over him, he smiled and returned to the book as he considered a trip to look into the mystery.
Outside, the girls panted as they flopped on the ground in exhaustion. After a few moments they smiled at the statue that stood before them. "Looks like we won." Rainbow cheered.
"That's a relief." Rarity sighed before turning to Applejack. "By the way. I was wondering something darling. Is there anything you'd like to tell us?"
"What do ya mean?" Applejack asked in shock.
"It's just… I couldn't help but to notice how you looked at Spike back at the library." Rarity explains. "Not that I blame you. He is a special drac. But I couldn't help but notice you didn't look at Check in the same way."
Applejack huffed and looked away. "Fine… I… have a crush on him… and seeing him… like that didn't help." She sighed.
Twilight smiled and put a hoof on her shoulder. "It's ok Applejack. If you want to hook up with him. I'll support you two."
"Thanks." Applejack sighed, giving her a hug before turning to the others. "But more importantly. What are we going to do about Check? I mean… we all practically jumped at the chance to… you know."
One by one, the girls blushed as they bit their lips as they thought of what they wanted to do with him. "I… think it's best we go and talk to him about it." Twilight sighed before turning back to the statue. "But we should start by dealing with this."
A few moments passed before royal guards arrived with a unicorn and a wagon. "Nothing to worry about Twili." The unicorn announced. "Check already informed the princesses about your victory."
Twilight blinked in shock before rushing over to give the stallion a hug. "Shiny! Wait… how… when?"
"Sometime last night." Shining Armor explained. "Luna said that he had a plan and to send someone to pick up Discord."
The girls shrugged and smiled as they thanked him and the guards for the help before turning and making their way back to the library. However Rainbow seemed hesitant to go back.
Noticing her old friend's hesitation, Fluttershy stopped and looked over at her. "Is something wrong?"
Taking a deep breath, Rainbow sat and huffed. "Let's take a moment and think this over." She replied. "I mean. We all were acting strange. And said things that we normally likely wouldn't have… right? So what do you say we wait a bit before bringing it up with him." She paused as she looked them over with a smile as she saw them thinking it over. "I mean. Do any of us really think he'd actually do things with us?"
Another pause. This time, Pinkie was the first to speak up. "You have a point. I mean. He is fun. But I don't know if I'd be a good partner for him."
Rarity sighed and shook her head. "Although I would love to see him in more of my outfits. But… I'm not… ready for such a wellindout stallion."
"And it's clear that Applejack would prefer the company of…" Twilight started before noticing Applejack blushing. "Ummm… Applejack?"
"After what he did earlier… i… I wouldn't apos the idea." Applejack confessed. "But… not if he was opposed to the idea."
Twilight sighed and shrugged. "I guess I can understand. After what I heard. I have to admit that I'm curious, myself."
Fluttershy blushed and rubbed her foreleg. "I… I wouldn't be against the idea… he seemed so nice… and… well…"
Rainbow sighed and got up. "Fine… then let's see what he has to say." She groaned as she followed the girls back to the library.
Back in the library, Check smiled as he heard the familiar groan of Discord in his head. "Welcome back." He thought.
"Yes yes. I'm back." Discord huffed. "But don't think you're done. There's still a few things you have to do."
"I know." Check sighed. "And thankfully it seems that things are returning to normal."
Discord let out a chuckle as Scootaloo made her way over biting her lip. "Ummm… Check? About what happened earlier… would… do you…"
Just then the door swung open as Pinkie bounced in. "Spike! Applejack wants to talk in private!" She cheered before turning to Check. "And the rest of us want to talk to you."
"We'll talk later." He whispered to Scootaloo before turning to the others as Scootaloo sighed and slumped off. "It's about earlier. Isn't it?" He asked as the other girls came into the library.
The girls nod as they group around him and Applejack goes into the back with Spike. "About wanting to be with you earlier…" Twilight started before pausing and looking at the others.
It was clear to him that none of them really wanted to bring it up but at the same time felt it was a matter that had to be addressed. Taking a deep breath he sighed. "What I said earlier. I did to get you all together." He admitted. "But if it's something you still wish to pursue. Then I'm not against having a little fun from time to time."
The girls looked at him in shock as he went back to the book adding. "Wouldn't be the first time females wanted that from me." Which only seemed to stun and confuse the girls more. All but Rainbow who was now looking at him in a different light. One that surprised her and intrigued her.
After a few moments he got up and left letting them know he was heading home. And soon after they did the same. Each with a lot to think about.

What did you expect? The guy's a wiz. That and he's clearly got some mores. I wonder however who all is going to look past is view on sex and who'll see it as a turn-off. Still a lot of story to go. So hang in there.
A few days passed as things quickly returned to normal in the small town. Check had spent some time with each of the girls, smoothing things over about what had happened. While most of them had agreed to let what happened with Discord pass as a "we weren't thinking clearly" type thing. Two ponies had a hard time letting it slide. Either because a part of them still wanted it, or the fact he shown more concern for her than any other stallion in their life.
Check had gathered plenty of details about the mysterious art in the Daring Doo books. Cross-referenced with known references of old Equestrian stories, legends of other nations and scripts that were translated by at least six ponies ending with Twilight making sure nothing got lost in translation. He was confident he knew where the tribe was and at least a little bit about what they were like.
However, there was a different matter that had come up. Apparently, Discord had somehow moved events out of their original order so he can have some fun. Which by even HIS logic, or what little logic one can find with him. Ment he had help.
Check slammed his head into his desk. "I hate immortals."
"Why so touchy?" Discord asked. "What reason would you have to hate a spirit like myself?"
"You guys cheat, think it's fun to play with our lives, and change the rules whenever you feel like it. How's that for a reason?" Check huffed.
Discord was silent for a moment. "Fair points. But try and look at it from our side. If things were always moving in the same direction at the same pace with the same events and outcomes. It would get boring. So… I mixed it up a bit… and called in a favor to make things a bit more spicy."
Check looked in the mirror before turning to the door. "Fine. What game do you have in mind next?"
"How about… either try and stop a war… or go to court." Discord replied.
"What?"
Just then Scootaloo rushed in with a bag of her things and a piece of paper. "Check! Good news! I got the mayor to agree to let me move in with you!"
"What?"
Seconds later Applejack came in. "We're going to Appleloosa to deliver an apple tree. And was hoping you'd come."
"Sure… wait what?"
Fluttershy came in and shyly excuses herself. "I was wondering if you'd like to come over and… maybe pick out a pet?"
Check blinked in shock before sitting and sighing. "Ok… first… let's figure out the order in when these events will happen."
"Can I move in today?" Scootaloo asked.
"I'd like to look at the papers first. But till I'm able to figure out the matters revolving around your situation." Check replied as Scootaloo set the paper onto his desk.
"What about coming to help with the tree?" Applejack asked.
Check rubbed his chin in thought. He did read about that area in his research. He had a feeling it'd end up being unpaid. But if he was right. The alternative was far worse. Then again.
"Is there a deadline on that?"
"Well… no. But my cousin said they needed it soon." Applejack replied.
Nodding he turned to Fluttershy. "You and the girls are having a pet play date tomorrow. Right?" Seeing her nod, Check thought for a moment. "I guess I can meet you at the hut afterwards."
With a nod, the girls headed out leaving him to note things down on his planner. "My my my." Discord laughed in his head. "This is soooo perfect. All these ponies want your attention. How will you ever find time to adventure with Rainbow."
"I'll set aside a week or two for that once I have things sorted out." Check replied as he looked over the papers Scootaloo brought over.
"Speaking of sorting things out. That looks like a rather interesting paper." Discord laughed.
Check sighed. "A form for emancipation. Looks like she convinced the mayor to agree to this… on the condition she can hold down a job." Facehoofing he sighed. "And looks like I'm the one she chose to work for."
"So what will you do?" Discord asked.
"What I must… SCOOTALOO!"
Scootaloo rushed out and smiled at him. "Yes?"
"If you're going to stay here. You're going to be put to work." He instructed. "But don't worry. You'll have time to spend with your friends."
Scootaloo smiled excitedly. "Thank you so much! I promise I won't let you down."
Check smiled and turned to his calendar. "I have the utmost faith in you." Pausing he looked around the room and sighed. "Maybe you can help by cleaning this place up for me. Seems I've been too busy to really notice."
"On it boss." She replied with a salute before rushing off to take care of her first official job.
"Leave my desk alone." He instructed as he grabbed his saddlebag. "I need to make a run to the shop district." He called before leaving her to do her job.

Looks like a lot is happening. I wonder what the next week will have in store.
Check made his way down the street as he thought about everything that has happened as of late. Thankfully after a quick stop to get more food, he had time to stop off at the mayor's office to sort out at least one thing.
"Oh." Mayor Mare gasped as he entered. "I was wondering when I'd have the honor of your visit."
"I came to check on Scootaloo's situation. I have the paperwork she had to verify the details."
After he passed them to her, she looked them over before nodding. "I did indeed confirm her request. Have you come to verify her housing and work arrangements?"
"That. And I'd like to verify the manner in which these papers were needed." He replied sitting at her desk.
Mayor gasped and looked away sadly. "I see… nopony told you…" taking a deep breath she sat across from him. Legally speaking… She's been abandoned. An orphan."
Check's teeth clenched at the news as a seething hatred for her parents grew within him. However, thanks to his training, he was able to hide it well. "I see. I'll need all her resources then."
Mayor nodded and pulled out a folder before passing it to him. "Here you go. She may not look it. But she's a few years older than she looks."
"Explain."
The mayor double checked the hallway before shutting and locking the door. "From what I was able to gather about her from her last school. She was cursed."
Check scanned the folder before turning to her. "And her medical records?"
"There are none."
Check got up and went to the door. "I'll fix that. She's staying and working with me." He didn't like how Scootaloo's parents had treated her. And hearing that no one was able to get her a checkup because of it. Only fueled his hate. Thankfully the walk back to the office gave him time to calm down. And with the mayor knowing he was taking care of the matter, he was free to put an end to her problems.
Twilight sat at the desk of her library as Rainbow came in making a v-line for the bookshelf. She watched for a few moments as she tried to figure out what her friend was doing. For some reason she was looking into history and global books. Oddly nothing related to sports or something she'd consider awesome.
"Rainbow? What are you doing?" Twilight asked bluntly. "The fiction section is on the other side of the room."
"I know." She replied as she continued her search.
"Sports is the next shelf over."
"I know."
"Then what are you looking for?" Twilight asked.
Rainbow huffed and landed with an annoyed look on her face. "Check and I found something that kept popping up in the Daring Doo books. I wanted to look into it on my own."
Twilight blinked in shock. "What? Why are you so fascinated on it?... or are you more interested in spending time with Check?"
"I plan to be a Wonderbolt. And according to what I heard, a big part is being able to gather information. Now are you going to help me look? Or am I going to have to go through every book till I find it?" Rainbow spat.
Smiling, Twilight got up and moved to her side. "Let's start with the region and narrow our search for there." She explained pulling out a quill, paper and a map.
Scootaloo hummed softly as she danced while she cleaned. True, she wasn't going super fast and was acting girly, but she didn't care. She felt like she was wanted, like she was needed. Maybe… eventually even…
Just then the door opened and Check entered. "Hay! How does it look so far?" She asked eagerly.
"Looks fine." He replied, moving straight to his desk.
"But you barely looked at it." She huffed.
Check sighed and smiled at her. "Scootaloo… when I left. There was a pile of books laying in the corner. Not to mention the dishes on the table. Both would have been easy to see the moment I stepped into the room. Knowing that. Do you still think I haven't noticed the work you've done?"
Scootaloo looked around before turning to him with a smile. "No… you noticed."
"Good girl. Keep that in mind. Rather in air or on hoof, you must always be aware of your surroundings. Sometimes even the smallest detail can lead to the biggest discovery." He paused for a moment before tapping a chair next to him.
Hopping up, Scootaloo looked at him in curiosity. "Is something wrong?" She asked.
"The Mayor told me about your situation." He sighed. "We'll be taking care of all that together."
She blinked in shock and gulped asking. "Take care of what?"
"How would you like to have a much needed medical examination and trip to Canterlot?" He asked, receiving a large smile.
"Can we see the Wonderbolts while we're there?"
"That depends on how quickly we can get a ticket to Canterlot. I just have to send a letter through Spike and…" He explained before Scootaloo cut him off.
"I'll get the tickets!"
Writing down a note, Check smiled at Scootaloo. "Hand this to the pony at the stallion. And wait for me there."
Scootaloo happily sped out the door calling back. "I'll send Spike over too!"
Sighing, he shook his head and looked at the folder.
Name: Scootaloo
Check closed his eyes as memories flashed past his mind. Memories he would rather avoid for her. "Never again." He thought before writing a letter to the princesses.

A dark past and hope for a bright future. Two lives now tied together by the strings of fate. What will the future hold?
After having Spike send the letter, Check and Scootaloo got on the train for Canterlot. He had a feeling that things were going to become interesting.
"Will we be able to see the Wonderbolts before the doctor? Or do I have to wait till after?" Scootaloo finally asked as they arrived at the station.
"The show doesn't start till this afternoon. So we'll have plenty of time before the show starts. " He replied as he gathered their things. "A guard should be waiting to bring us to a professional who'll give you an examination." He paused and smiled at her. "If you're on your best behavior, maybe I'll let you pick where we have lunch."
Scootaloo nodded while standing at his side, doing her best to mimic his stance, much to his amusement as they exited the train. Just as he had said, a guard stood scanning the crowd muttering to himself.
Knowing they had yet to be noticed, Check whispered to Scootaloo. "Let's see how good you are at observation. What can you tell me about the guard?"
Scootaloo looked him other thoughtfully. "Well… he's an upper rank. Judging by the crest… he looks nervous. Maybe muttering something about meeting you… and that's about it."
"Not bad." He praised before starting towards the guard. "I got the same impressions."
As soon as the guard noticed him, he quickly stood at attention. "Sir! I was ordered to accompany you and the young lady during your stay in Canterlot."
"Why?" Scootaloo asked with a tilt of her head before scanning the area.
"There's a big event coming up this afternoon, and I was told you'd likely wish to go to it." The guard replied.
"And there have been problems in town the princess doesn't want us to get caught up in." Check finished for him.
Scootaloo gasped and looked at the guard. "Wait. Are you talking about the drama among the nobles?"
"Good catch." Check praised. "That is the most likely reason." With a nod, he motioned for the guard to lead the way. "With what you suspect in mind. Try keeping your ears open as we make our way to the doctor. But try not to look like you're listening."
"But isn't that snooping?" Scootaloo asked as she did as he said.
"No. You're gathering information about the situation. The more practice you get at listening. The better you become at picking out what is important from gossip." He explained as they stopped at the door of the hospital as Scootaloo's ear twitched.
"Can you believe the nerve of that mare?" A voice huffed from inside. "Thinking she can measure up to the Wonderbolts. I'll teach that prismatic peasant a lesson."
Scootaloo gasped and looked over at Check then the guard who seemed to notice the same thing she did. Glancing at Check, she saw a look of disgust and anger. It was apparent he heard what she had.
"Guard. Look after Scootaloo." Check instructed as the stallion left the hospital and pushed past them. "I have something to take care of."
"Sir." He replied before scooping her onto his back and entering the hospital.
Check followed the stallion down the street and stopped as he was joined by a few strong looking ponies. Seeing this, Check's mind raced for possible outcomes. A smirk crossed his face as the mare in question came into view.
"There you are, mare." The stallion spat. "You're going to pay for your disrespect to the Wonderbolts."
"BlueBlood?!?" She gasped. "What are you-?"
"You're going to pay. The only way a cunt like you is good for." BlueBlood growled as he pointed a hoof at her. "And don't even think about escaping or that orange runt will pay for you."
The mare huffed as his stallions closed in on her. "Ten seconds." Check called as he stepped into view.
"What? You stay out of this peasant." BlueBlood ordered.
Disregarding his words, Check looked over at the mare. "If you want to have any chances at becoming a Wonderbolt. Then you have ten seconds to apprehend these ponies."
"Do you know who I am?" BlueBlood snarled as Rainbow went to work on the other guys behind his back. "I am the nephew of Celestia. I am among the highest of nobles. I… am… a… PRINCE!"
*SMACK*
Rainbow looked in shock as Check stood looking down at BlueBlood, post backhoof. "You are under arrest for threats against an element of harmony. Threats against the princess's hoof picked advisor. And suspicions of foul trafficking."
"What?!?" Rainbow and BlueBlood gasped, for two different reasons.
Check looked over at Rainbow. "Please fetch Spitfire for me. Oh. And see me at the hospital after." Rainbow flew off without hesitation. After a moment, he cracked his neck. "There's a few things I despise in any world. And adults who take advantage of the young… is one of them."
"What are you going to do?" BlueBlood huffed.
"By my calculations. I have you for one minute. I'm sure I can think of something."
A few minutes later, Check entered the hospital and went up to the nurse that was arguing with Rainbow. "She's with me. What are the results?"
"Still waiting, I'm afraid." She sighed as Rainbow sat and crossed her hooves. "But the doctor is doing everything he can."
Check narrowed his eyes at her. "I believe I requested a copy of all her results."
She sighed and levitated over the papers to a table so he can look them over.
Name: Scootaloo
Several of the other pages went into detail about the matters mentioned. Luckily, she wasn't in any immediate danger. However, this did post several problems he had a feeling would need to be sorted out. "Send a copy of these and any other results to my office in Ponyville. Not by public mail. And see to it the princesses get a copy too."
"Why?" The mare asked.
"Yeah." Rainbow agreed in confusion. "I mean. It's cool that you're worried about the squirt. But why would the princesses want to know about this?"
Check took a deep breath and turned to the guard. "Please make sure Scootaloo makes it in time to see the show. Oh and take her to eat anywhere she wants. Send me the bill."
"Are you listening?" Rainbow spat as the guard nodded.
"I have something to prepare for." Check sighed.
Rainbow got in front of him and huffed. "What's going on?"
"You should get to the field if you're going to fly with the Wonderbolts." Check replied flatly.
"Scootaloo takes priority over my own desire to fly with the Wonderbolts. Now talk." She snapped.
Check smirked and motioned for her to follow as he made his way down the street. "To put it simply. Scootaloo's parents best beg the princesses to lock them up if I find my thoughts to be true."
"And what's that?"
Check stopped and looked Rainbow in the eyes. "They not only abused her. But… treated her like a slut." He spat, causing Rainbow to freeze in shock. He stopped and took a deep breath before approaching an elegant couple. "Fancy Pants." He called, making a quick note before passing it to him.
Fancy Pants looked it over and sighed. "I see… I'll look into it."
"Thank you." Check sighed as he turned to see Rainbow standing still and trying to calm herself. "Probably best you go see the Wonderbolts. They should be able to help you relax." Rainbow nodded and took off.
Once alone, Check calmly made his way down the street. Hopefully things will work out, and he won't have to do anything… illegal.

I have the feeling that Check has a dark side. I wonder what older Scootaloo should look like...
From bad to worse to plans
Rainbow Dash landed on a cloud and looked back at where he was. She was upset about how he brushed her to the side. But at the same time… she looked at her wings and sighed. She wondered if she really had a chance at being a Wonderbolt. Or if she'd actually have the ability to focus while she worried about Scootaloo.
Shaking her head, Rainbow flew over to the field where Spitfire and the other Wonderbolts were practicing.
As the pegasus landed, Spitfire called to the team. "Take five!" Turning to Rainbow, she smiled. "So, you're the hotshot that stood down prince Fancy Pants. Not bad."
"I wouldn't say that." Rainbow laughed.
"Don't get me wrong. I appreciate your guts. But if you hope to join the team, you'll need to learn that sometimes it's best to do what the nobles say… as long as it's not illegal." Spitfire sighed.
Rainbow huffed and turned away. "Yeah well… some ponies like to abuse that power."
Spitfire nodded in agreement. "In the future. Remember to go along with what they say. Then let the guards know."
"He threatened Scoots." Rainbow huffed.
"Who?"
"My number one fan and a kid who looks up to me." Rainbow replied.
Spitfire's eye twitched. Taking a deep breath, she spoke as calmly as possible. "Go get something to eat with the team. If they have a problem, tell them I said so." She instructed before flying off.
Check sat at a desk looking over several scrolls of spells, some with train ticket history and his notes on law dealing with abuse and prostitution. The more he read, the madder he got for what happened.
"Sir!" A guard called as he entered the room. "We checked the records as indicated. There are no other tickets for the parents to the town."
Check thought for a moment before gathering his notes. "I see… send a request to the princess for a summons for them to come to Ponyville. Let her know about the lack of responsibility and mistreatment of their kid."
"Yes sir." He replied before quickly leaving to do as he was ordered.
Check looked out the window as an image of Discord appeared on the glass as if he was there looking out with his arms crossed. "Normally I would want to stop you or mess with you about now." He said flatly. "But…" He turned to face Check with a determined smile. "Not even I would stoop so low."
"Tell me Discord. What would be the best way to catch ponies who think they can do no wrong?" Check asked.
Discord thought for a moment before shrugging.
"Simple. You go to the pony they listen to. And if I'm not mistaken. I'm almost ready for the trap." Check declared as he made his way out the door with his notes.
The two princesses sat in the throne room and listened to a noble complain about how the prince was treated. It wasn't much of a surprise they were annoyed by this. The fact that this was probably the sixth noble to come to them about this. What was probably even worse, was they blamed "that Rainbow moaned husie" for it.
"If anypony should be punished, it's that mare for setting him up like she did. No doubt to oneup what her friend did at the gala." The noble huffed.
Luna huffed and glared at him as her sister sighed softly. "Regardless of your thoughts or that of the other nobles. BlueBlood has more than earned his punishment. And do tell Spoiled that as well on your way out." Celestia stated. "No doubt she will be eager to inform us of the same things you did. So please be a gentle colt and save her the time."
With a sigh and a nod, the stallion left as Spitfire entered. "Apologies for barging in. But I just got informed about something that you need to hear."
"If it's about another noble wanting to complain. You can save your breath." Luna groaned.
"It's about the prince." Spike informed as she was barely able to contain her rage. "That sick freak threatened Scootaloo. A young filly."
Both princesses blinked in shock before turning to each other. Something didn't add up but if what they were just told was true…
"Princesses!" The guard called as he trotted to a stop, clearly out of breath. "Sir Check… has… a plan…"
"Catch your breath." Celestia instructed. "What does he have in mind?"
The guard paused and looked at Spitfire. "I doubt the princesses would do much if I let my anger out at this point. So don't expect me to leave unless you want to be my bucking bag." She warned.
Turning to the Princesses he took a deep breath. "It's about the parents of Scootaloo." He sighed. "He requests you send a summons for them to arrive in Ponyville."
Luna rubbed her chin as she tried figuring out what he was up to. Seeing this, Celestia nodded. "Very well. I'll leave my sister to handle the matter."
"Hold it!" Spitfire snapped. "Explain."
Seeing the princess nod, the guard turned to her. "Long story short. We have reason to believe that Scootaloo was abused by her parents. Or they left her in unsafe conditions. Either way. They have been riding the edge of legal responsibilities a bit too long. Check believes he has a plan to bring them in."
Turning to the princesses, Spitfire saluted them. "Then you can count on the aid of the Wonderbolts. We'll track them down and deliver the-"
"No." Luna interrupted. "Check doesn't strike me as the type to go with a simple answer. Not when it has so many holes…" She thought for a moment and smiled. "Go and prepare for your show. We will speak later about our part of his plan." As the two ponies left the room, Luna got up and turned to start her part of the plan, leaving Celestia to slump slightly at the sudden relief from tension of recent events.

Getting to know you, dating sim rond 1
The following days went... well.
"Wow.... you're drunk aren't you?" Check asked as the mare with a batch of blueberries collapsed onto the bar table. As he looked at the bartender he smiled to see his mouth "run".
Each day seemed to go in just about the same way. He goes on a date. They talk a bit. Then... "so... how soon do you want foal?" Something like that. Thankfully Check never went anywhere private. Which gave him plenty of methods to get out of the disasters. Unfortunately it also gave watchers a good show.
At the castle of friendship, Check collapsed on the couch with a sigh. "How many do you have left?" Spike asked, walking over with a plate of food.
"That was the last one." He groaned. "I'm done trying to find a mare. They're all crazy."
"Well... if you prefer stallions..." Spike started before he was cut off with a wing.
"Either too old, too young, taken, or just as crazy. " Check sighed. "Oh and don't forget too straight or like other mares."
"Well... not all of them are." Spike countered. "Big Mac..."
"Buck no." Check snapped. He had gotten used to the local preferred terms of speech and enjoyed the double meanings. "Not to say he's not attractive. Which he is. But I'd rather not risk the wrath of THAT family." With another sigh he fell back on the couch again.
"Well... there's always the girls."
"Mines Twilight?"
Spike thought for a moment. "Well.... she does always call me her assistant… so. Go for it."
"Wait. Really?" Check asked, sitting up. "But you two…"
"By pony standards I'm around Twilight's age. And legally Celestia's son." Spike replied.
"... Buck." Was all he was able to think of to say. "So… you'd be ok if I started to date her?"
"We've lived here for over a week now. I'm surprised ponies don't think you already are." Spike laughed. "I know in Canterlot, ponies thought we were after the roomers that I was her pet passed." After a moment he added. "But I understand if you'd rather try with one of the other girls."
"Like who?"
"Pinkie?" Spike asked, receiving a flat glare. "Right… Rainbow Dash?"
Check thought for a moment. "Maybe. Definitely my style."
Spike pulled out a scroll and started to write. "Applejack?"
"I respect hard workers. But her granny scars me."
"Agreed…" Spike shivered. "Fluttershy."
"Too cute and innocent to be more than close friends. Cuddle buddy… tops"
Spike nodded as he made notes. "Twilight?"
"I like a mare with a good head on her shoulders."
Spike nodded and made the notes. "I'll see if I can find just the pony for you."
"What? Why?" Check asked, in shock.
"That's what friends do… right? Help each other?"
Check, thought for a moment and shrugged. "Good luck." With that Spike left.
He didn't put much hope in finding a marefriend. But he didn't want to tell Spike no just to spite the voice in his head.
"My my my… that was subtle of him… anyway, you really have an interesting taste." The voice laughed. "Tell me. If you woke to find such a mare. Do you really think she would be into you?"
"No. For one. We'd both doubt the other was real." Check explained. "And for two, both would likely question why the other wanted to date them. And lastly. Just because I find such qualities in a female attractive. Doesn't mean that she'd be the one I fall for."
"Then what's wrong with Pinkie?"
"Nothing. She just scares the Tartarus out of me." Check shivered. "That is no earth pony."
A moment of silence later. "Nice jugs though right?"
"Yeah… but I prefer the… well… normally I'd say lower half. But for ponies…"
Again since. "I… think I may need to reconsider a few things… but… she does have a nice flank. Right?"
"Oh yeah. Then again. They all do."
"Who's your favorite?"
"Why are you asking me all this? Are you lonely or something?"
"Kinda. And if it makes you feel better. We can count this as a bonus round… So? You got a preference?"
Taking a deep breath. Check sighed. "Well…."
Spike sighed as he walked down the street with his notes. "Let's see… kind, cute… but not too cute… hard worker, smart, loyal, likes a challenge… who in Equestria even comes close?" He sighed looking around.

Applejack led Check to her barn where her friends were waiting. The two stopped in momentary confusion till they heard Rainbow ask. "So why did you tell us to come here Pinkie?"
Looking at Check Applejack smiled before making her way over to the far end of the barn. "Well, looks like Pinkie made this a bit more interesting."
"What do you mean Applejack?" Twilight asked.
"Oh my." Fluttershy gasped seeing Applejack pull out a barrel of hard cider.
"Sweet!" Rainbow cheered. "Finally you bring out the good stuff."
"Now hold your horses Rainbow. Check gets the first cup." Applejack scolded. "But don't worry, there's plenty to go around."
Check looked around as Applejack poured him a cup, and saw the others looking at him. Taking a deep breath he went over to Applejack and took the cup. "Thank you." He said softly before moving over to a stool and sat.
Ine by one the others got a glass and started drinking before Rarity asked. "What's the occasion?"
Applejack smirked and waited for the girls to get closer. "I wanted ta help Check get use to how things work around here."
"By getting him drunk? What do you expect to accomplish by…" Rarity whispered before her eyes widened in realization. "Wait. Are you talking about what I think you're talking about?"
"If y'all talking about rutting. Then sure am." Applejack confirmed. The girls blinked and blushed before looking at each other. "If y'all want ya can try talking him into it before ya get too drunk to remember."
The girls looked at each other before noticing Rainbow down her cup and asking for another. "Really darling? Out of all of us. I thought you'd be the first to ask."
"Oh. This one's not for me." Rainbow laughed before motioning to Check who was sitting back. "Besides. Looks like Flutters is getting ready. So you might want to start drinking if you don't want an eye full."
The girls looked over at a slightly buzzed Fluttershy sitting next to Check nervously biting her lip. A few moments later Twilight and Rarity downed their cups and asked for another. If they were going to go through with this, they would need their courage.
Downing her second cup, Twilight sat on his other side as Rainbow passed him a second cup. "Don't get too drunk. One of us might give you a refresher course of what happened."
Gulping, Check downed his cup. If nothing else. He was going to need all the courage he could get. It didn't take long after for him tstart downing cups as the girls flirted with him and slowly got drunk themselves.
However, Check was no fool. He slipped a special stone off to the side as they continued to drink. And lose track of time.
When he finally woke. Check felt like he ran a marathon and fought a bull… or something like that. It was almost blissful really. Not being able to think clearly. Scooping up the stone, Check knew his head would clear and needed to see what happened that night. And what the damage to his ego might look like.
"So. You regret what happened?" A voice asked from next to him. Looking over he saw Rainbow holding out a glass. "It's for the hangover. So do you regret what happened?"
"Still a bit early to tell." He sighed. "I need to review the recording."
"Wait. You recorded it?" She gasped and blushed. "Do… Do you think I can get a copy?"
"After I see what's on it." He confirmed. "Why? Need a reminder?"
"Well yeah. I mean. If it's going to be the only chance I got. Then why not have a reminder?" Rainbow replied.
With a sigh he nodded and took the drink. "You have a point. Stop by my place and we'll see about getting you a copy."
The two sat back and calmly drank as they laughed about how the others would react to being ravaged in their likely drunken stupor.

Discord games: cut seance suck
Check sat and watched the exchange in a magic mirror Discord left for him to watch through. He had to stifle a laugh at the sight of the clearly avoidable slip ups. He let out a sigh as he listened to the riddle. Getting up he made his way over to the base where Discord stood and started slamming his forehead into it. He knew where Twilight's thoughts were going to go.
His eye twitched as he watched the girls quickly agree to the game. It was probably the dumbest thing he saw them do. And as they entered the maze. He counted down, and on cue, the girls were separated. "I see why he thought this place would be a proper challenge. These girls are too eager to rush into danger." He sighed.
It wasn't long before Discord started tempting them one by one. Check sighed seeing them fall to the influence of the draconequus. It wasn't long before the maze vanished leaving the girls to stand in an open field. Amazingly, they looked normal. But as they walked off. Check got a very bad feeling.
"Why didn't you want me to see you turn them?" He asked the draconequus as Discord appeared next to him.
