Twilight was on her couch giggling at a good book about potatoes and how they tried to defeat ponies. Potatoes are a smart vegetable, they can wield swords and march and do army stuff, Twilight loved this book, it was so cute and original. Potatoes were her most favourite thing in the world!
”The potatoes are missing”!
Screamed Pinkie as she came from nowhere and jumped on the couch, causing Twilight to go flying into her pile of potato plushies. One ended up in her mouth, so she spat it into the floor and was clearly ticked off.
“What the potato, Pinkie!? What in Potatoland was that for!?” Twilight shouted at Pinkie.
“You potato! You gotta stop reading that potato book! The potatoes are missing!” Pinkie screamed as she put her face into Twilight’s.
“Tried going to the market?” Asked Twilight in a very bored voice.
Pinkie did a little dance and booped Twilight, “You out of your potato mind!? They are gone from the face of this earth,”
“Nooo! How will I live without potatoes!?” Cried Twilight as her tears flooded the library.
“Oh I know!” Pinkie exclaimed as a potato shaped light bulb appeared above her head and she rose her hoof, “We can ask the Potato King!”
“You are a potato genius!” Exclaimed Twilight as she magically grabbed a book, “Lets see the Potato King!” She exclaimed as she took out a map.
Pinkie sung as they walked towards the location on the map, “Potato, potato, tato, tato, ato!” She sang as she slipped through the town.
Twilight giggled and joined in, “Tato, tato, tato,” She had lots of fun with the song.
They skipped though the Everfree forest and made it to the other side where they saw the ruins of an accident house, it was all crumbled away to the point that only the lower half of the walls were standing. Nearby was a Manticore doing hula-hoops and humming a tune.
“The potato portal is in the basement,” Explained Twilight.
They happily sang their potato song as they opened the rusty old wooden and skipped down the glass stairs to a room filled with spiders that were breakdancing. The room was covered in webs that smelt like potatoes, there was also a hole in a wall that led to another mysterious room, but that wasn’t where they were going.
“Wonder what’s in there,” Pinkie said as she peered through the hole.
“Pinkie, focus!” Twilight scolded, “Or no potatoes for a week!”
“Aww, okay,” Pinkie exclaimed sadly.
In the same room they were in, they looked ahead. A glowing mirror portal was on the other side, they walked over and did a hoof-bump, Pinkie was wearing one of those electric button things so Twilight would get a quick electric shock.
“That’s potato shocking!” Twilight giggled.
But they were quick to get both got their potato-loving butts through the portal and to the other world, and were ready for their adventure to save potatoes.

The first thing they saw was everything looked like it was made from grass and leaves and stone. Soon they saw a blue potato with purple dots for eyes, it was wearing a wizard hat and cape that matched its eye colour. Reminded Twilight of Trixie.
“Bow down to the great and potato-ful Trix-tato!” The blue potato boasted.
“No thanks!” Pinkie said as she stared at it and her belly grumbled, her hoof reached for Trix-tato.
“Pinkie, no,” Twilight warned.
But it was too late, Pinkie had already scoffed the poor blue potato and swallowed it, “Mmm! Tastes just like potato! With a hint of blueberry!” She said naively before burping up the hat and cape.
Twilight was horrified, “No potatoes for a week!” She scolded.
“Awww,” Cried Pinkie, “Potato!”
“Fine...” Twilight sighed, “Just don’t eat any-tato else,”
“Okay!” Pinkie squeaked as she pronked towards the towering stone castle.
The potato guards recognised Princess Twilight and let her in without a word, they danced their way to the throne room. They had the biggest smiles when they saw the Potato King. He was a ginormous potato with a brown beard and a golden crown along with a robe.
“Hello, ponies,” He welcomed.
“Potato, potato, potato! And potato!” Pinkie explained.
“Oh dear!” The King explained, “Equestria has a potato shortage!?,”
Twilight stood there scratching her head with her hoof wondering what the heck happened, “Uh, yes, that’s right,” She confirmed.
“Alright, we’ll work on it, it’s just some-tato stole the seeds,”
“Oh! I can use a duplication spell on the seeds!” Twilight said in a heroic voice.
So Twilight went to the seed storage and almost overflowed the kingdom with potato seeds, so they wouldn’t have a shortage for a very long time, everyone was happy and lived happily ever after with potato’s back in their lives.
The End
Twilight on her throne in front of the cutiemap and stared at a sheet of paper with a bunch of writing on it, she had a very confused expression.
“What did I just read?” She asked herself as she sat there.
Next to her was a young yellow dragon with pink frills and spots on her wings, she was the one who wrote the story and wanted to share. She was about ten years old so Twilight knew how harsh to be, but she was quite confused by what she had read.
“What even is this?” She asked as she raised her brow.
“Potato story,” The dragon, Sunrise replied, “You and Pinkie save the potatoes!”
“I saw...” Twilight explained.
“So, how good was it?” Sunrise grinned, obviously she was very proud of her work.
Twilight looked throughout the paper, she skipped over the grammar and spelling errors, “Wood doesn’t rust and potatoes don’t come from seeds...”
“Well, potatoes are yummy! And all veggies come from seeds”
Twilight was more confused, “What has that got to do with- and yes they do! And, huh?”
Sunrise giggled as Twilight read through the story again to try and make some sense from it.
Meanwhile
Trixie relaxed in her hammock while balancing an apple on her nose, she looked at you, the audience and smiled.
”Heh, I made some sort of appearance, was there ever any doubt?”
She said, not realising she was a last second decision, if you don’t include the blue potato Pinkie ate.
”Wait, what?”
