PROLOGUE
Let us speak of Equestria; from its
Founding days in times of Discord, and great
Mistrust between the three races, to the
Time when those beautifully dazzling
Celestial unicorns, chosen heirs
To the throne of that great kingdom, sought out
The very Elements of Harmony
To rightfully restore balance and joy
To the world. Let us sing of adventure,
Great bundles of fun, Equestrian hearts
Filled with incredible beauty, faith, strength,
Compassion and the ability to
Spread love and tolerance wherever their
Hooves touched upon the very earth they held
So dear. And let us sing of magic for
It was by this celestial art that
Those two sisters were able to seek out
And conquer hatred, fear, distrust and war
To help make the kingdom the place of love
And joy we find today. But how am I,
A mere Brony – follower of that great
Animation which speaks to the mind and
Heart of all, whether they be young or old –
Worthy to tell such an important tale?
With what divine assistance shall I spin
This impressive tale? Descend to me, you
Who the three races call Princess and sole
Ruler of the day. Descend to me great
Celestia, become my poetic
Muse so that I may help spread this joyful
Fandom to the wider masses of the
Internet! And lay your blessings upon
Your followers in the Aberystwyth
Brony Society, whose helpful words
Shall help me in my quest to extol your
Works and wisdom. But first, pray speak, tell me
Who was the first to found that great Kingdom?
Who defeated Discord and condemned him
To an eternity in stone? And who
Was it who restored the lost Elements
Of Harmony to that chaotic world?
Of these questions, and many more inside
My mortal mind, please speak and banish fear...
