Due to my own dissatisfaction. I came to the conclusion that the previous Prologue was filled with way too many plot holes and things that simply didn't make sense in the grand scheme of things. So I decided to remake and totally modify this chapter from the ground up. If you want to read the original prologue, you can do so Here
Prologue
Ten years until a terrible disaster would strike this world.
Twilight and the rest of her friends once again had a massive fight between her and Tirek. As he found an alternative way to obtain magic, he was now in a complex fight with Twilight. Meanwhile her friends attempted to stop the forces of Tirek's corrupted ponies.
Among her friends was also the alicorn sisters. Celestia and Luna. As Celestia fought these forces directly, Luna ensured that everything was going as planned. Until... Tirek finally had enough.
"ENOUGH!" Tirek shouted enraged. This caused Twilight to fly to the ground as she has been flying circles around Tirek constantly. Though she was temporarily stunned, she looks at Tirek with confusion.
"What, you don't like being attacked by ponies?" Twilight asked smugly. Tirek looks over at Twilight, then at the fact that his forces were losing quite quickly.
"Do you know why I attacked Equestria?" Tirek asked instead. Luna looks at Tirek and notices something unusual. He wasn't angry, no merely disappointed. This confused Luna greatly. Despite his desire to conquer Equestria was great, he wasn't stupid. There was more to his ambition.
"To destroy or conquer it?" Twilight offered. She looks confused at Tirek. She knew that wasn't it. But it was all she could come up with in the moment.
"As much as I would love to do that. I cannot. This magic I gained has a price. The price was to rule my own kingdom inside of the chaos spawn. Yet, here I am. Once again attacking Equestria. Why?" Tirek asked, disappointment seemed clear on his face.
This question stumped Twilight, as she makes a mental note of everything that happens inside of Equestria. Sometimes she comes across rumors. Rumors that seem either too good or too terrible to be real. Unless, one is real.
"I suppose. There could be many reasons. With a country as massive as Equestria. There is a lot that is unsaid or said too much. So how about you enlighten me, Tirek." Twilight admits.
"Very well. I totally understand why you placed a wall between Equestria and the chaos spawn. Nevertheless, I became curious of Equestria after I noticed something... Odd. I was merely watching the ocean from a distant, which is when I saw it. The water level was rising. Of the ocean." Tirek said worried.
This made Twilight's eyes widen, "Oh no. So that rumor was true..." She said as fear and worry was clear within her voice. Luna, Celestia and Tirek both looked at Twilight.
"What rumor?" Luna asked faster.
"Well. Remember our original test flights of 'New Canterlot'? We did that on the north pole. But, the north pole is made of ice and snow. And the thrusters of our ship was made of extremely hot plasma. And they did collide, the ice and the plasma. What if our thrusters melted too much of the ice? Causing a chain reaction that will eventually melt the entire north pole." Twilight explained.
As everyone that was listening in on the conversation widened their eyes in shock. It became clear something bad is happening. And it was out of the control of Twilight and the rest of Equestria.
"Are you telling me, that you doomed my kingdom before it can even begin?!" Tirek shouted enraged.
"No, no, no, no. Hope isn't all lost. We can build another spaceship that will allow you to colonies a different planet for your kingdom." Twilight offered.
"You will do that, for an enemy?" Tirek stated slightly surprised.
"Oh Please. As much as I love fighting you. If you want to settle and stop the conquer of our country. I am all for it." Twilight said dismissive.
"I do agree with Twilight. I think we have build two space ships though and the other one is empty. The one we use is called New Canterlot. While the other is called Magic prowess." Luna admits.
"There. Please take that ship." Twilight offered.
Amazed by Twilight's kindness, Tirek bows. "I am eternally grateful. Princess Twilight Sparkle. May your kingdom flourish where ever it gets placed. When can I expect that spaceship?" Tirek asked.
"Right now." Twilight said as a massive spaceship is heading straight towards the chaos spawn.
"Then I shall take my leave. I wish Equestria the best of luck." Tirek said before leaving with his forces.
"Twilight. If what you are saying is true. We need to hurry up and get off this planet." Celestia said.
"I am aware. If will leave that up to you to handle. Luna please warn our neighboring countries about the impending doom. If you need me. I will be in my laboratory." Twilight said. She seemed downtrodden.
"Wait. Isn't getting off this planet more important?" Celestia asked surprised.
"Oh please. It will take atleast another ten years before the water will reach Canterlot. Even if by that point the rest of Equestria is already under water." Twilight dismissed.
"Even still. This is just reckless." Celestia said dissatisfied.
"You know full well. That those projects I am working on are equally important." Twilight said slightly annoyed.
"You mean, Project Cryogenic. Project Octopus and Project Nevermore?" Luna asked.
"The last one is permanently shelved. But yes. Those two initial projects are at their final stages of development." Twilight said as she flew off.
"I don't like this. It's almost as if, leaving this planet isn't in her to-do list." Luna said worried.
"Don't ya'll worry about Twi. She can handle herself." Applejack said intervening.
"Yea. That egghead probably already have a way out inside that lab of hers." Rainbow said optimistic.
"Very well. Well Twilight did assign me a task. I will get going. Good day everyone." Celestia said before flying off.
As Time passed quickly, in no time at all. Ten years had passed. And the water was already on the front line at Ponyville. Realizing that there is no way to stop the water from reaching Ponyville. The citizens of Ponyville climbed aboard the spaceship called the New Canterlot. Meanwhile Twilight's friends were very busy finding a new planet to live on.
Twilight meanwhile was on the final stages of her Cryogenic project. After putting the final parts into it, and checking how stable it was. She had done it. Several thousand years before the next pony would make another one. The first Cryogenic Sleep Chamber or CSC for short. She then connected the automated voice imprint system into another one of her projects. Project Space Garden. Which was as the name stated a garden in space.
A virtual or digital garden to be precise. She called it the static garden. Since it was merely a projection. And unbeknownst to Luna, merely a illusion for its primary ability. No, this garden was a direct link to Twilight's CSC since she wasn't going to leave Equestria. She was going down with the ship to say it simply. However, Twilight wouldn't know what the future of Equestria is like. So she made a second project.
Project Octopus. By mixing the DNA of an octopus with the RNA of an earth pony, she hoped to achieve a totally new race. A race she appropriately named the Octo Ponies or Ink Ponies. As she was mixing two different octopus in order to find the right one. After a totally of six checks. Twilight was ready to make it useful.
Knowing that there was no escape. Twilight Injected herself with the new DNA. At first nothing happened, until something happened so fast. Twilight had no chance to stop the new DNA from entirely changing Twilight's body to meet the demand of the new DNA.
The DNA first changed Twilight's insides. By removing bones and adding additional muscle to hold the body together. It also added a much larger bladder to accommodate ink instead of pee. Then something horrific happened. Something Twilight was afraid of.
Twilight's horn and wings shrunk until it was no more. Twilight's ability to use magic was mostly gone. But not entirely. But the final most peculiar thing happened. Twilight's body was no longer required to have magic to operate. This meant that if Tirek drains Twilight of her last magic. Nothing will happen. Twilight will simply continue living. Magic was now merely another tool, not a way of life.
And finally, Twilight's hair turns into tentacles. Big floppy tentacles, with a purple color. And Finally Twilight's skin turns slightly duller. Eventually the whole transformation ends with changing Twilight's teeth structure. To that similar of a vampire.
"Ugh. That went faster than I though." Twilight said. Her speech had remained however.
As Twilight walks over to the mirror. She checks out the features of the Octo Pony. But as she touched water to check if the creature can now breath underwater. It couldn't. She had added too much Earth Pony RNA. Twilight then looks at the second vial with the DNA of the different octopus type, but she shook her head.
"One is plenty. I will keep this vial here along with the vial I used on myself. If the water washes it all into the ocean. It would allow new life to exist on Equestria after the water had subsided." Twilight said to herself.
As soon as she was done saying that, the tsunami alarm rung in the background. Twilight knew that there was no way out. And decided to use the emergency broadcasting system that is placed all over Canterlot to evacuate all ponies in Canterlot.
"This is Princess Twilight Sparkle. I order all ponies to evacuate towards the New Canterlot spaceship. This isn't a drill. Canterlot will soon no longer exist. All personal, Please evacuate your stations make your way to the New Canterlot spaceship. This is no drill. This is the final broadcast of the emergency anti-tsunami network system. Thank you for your stay in Canterlot. This is the end." Twilight said through the broadcasting network.
As the alarms rung and the final ponies made her way to the ship. The ship broadcasted a message to Twilight.
"Twilight! Please hurry! The water is already over the wall. It is only a matter of second now!" Celestia pleaded.
"I am sorry. Leaving was never in the plan. I am going down with Equestria. I order you to leave me behind." Twilight said unwilling.
"NO! I refuse your order." Celestia said stubborn.
"James. Is everyone on board?" Twilight asked.
"It is. Your highness." James the AI said.
"Alright. Ignore Celestia. I order you to leave this planet immediately. Activate the departure system now. As Princess it is my duty to go down with my kingdom." Twilight ordered.
"Alright. May the future bring you happiness." James said as he started the departure system under her orders.
"No! James Please! We shouldn't leave her behind!" Celestia pleaded. Tears filled her eyes.
"I am sorry." James said as the departure system was completed. And the ship blasts off towards New Equestria.
"NO!!!" Celestia shouted as the ship flew away. Leaving Twilight as the only pony on planet where Equestria was situated.
"May the next generation live free lives." Twilight said as she opened the bulk heads to allow the water to get into her laboratory.
Twilight then climbed into her CSC and closed the glass behind her. Turning it on. And falling asleep. All alone.
Meanwhile back at the New Canterlot spaceship. Celestia collapsed from the sheer amount of stress of losing a loved one to the disaster that was entirely avoidable. Had they tested somewhere less cold. In the end, this caused Celestia to fall into depression, which she was never truly going to be able to recover from.
Meanwhile everyone else on board heard what happened and decided to wear black for the remainder of the travel and several days on New Equestria. With Rainbow also suffering greatly. She truly believed that Twilight had a way out. With that not being the case, she deflated. Showing a side she almost never showed. Shyness. She suddenly didn't like being around others. Fearing that they might judge her for failing to see the truth.
And just like Rainbow. Everyone of the main six handled the truth differently. Rarity became more of a workaholic, Applejack lost a bit of motivation regarding agriculture. Pinkie also slightly deflated, making less parties but a lot more effort in each. Fearing that each could be her last. However surprisingly, Fluttershy handled it totally different. It almost as if she traded places with Rainbow. She became bold and outgoing. Making her personality do a one eighty.
Luna meanwhile didn't believe that Twilight was dead. Since Luna and Twilight used to work on projects in the past. She remembered Twilight working on Project Cryogenic. A project that was made to protect and save lives. If Twilight completed this project in time, she could still be alive. Making her the only pony inside of the New Canterlot ship, that still wholeheartedly believed that she was still in fact alive.
As the news finally reached the magic prowess ship. Surprisingly, everyone also dressed black. Including Tirek. As much as he disliked Twilight. He didn't dislike her so much that he wanted her dead. The news saddened him, since Twilight was great pony but a more excellent rival. Since they are both rulers of their own kingdom, he wanted to become better than her, making him especially sad.
He would eventually make a city that he named after Twilight's original home. Ponyville. Making it with the same architecture as the original. But with a statue of Twilight in the center. As a way to show respect to the fall and loss of a great rival.
Luna meanwhile worked on a space beacon. One that lasts of thousands of years to broadcast a message to Equestria. In case Twilight were to ever wake up, Twilight might want to go and visit to New Equestria. So she broadcasted the following message on repeat.
"Dear Twilight Sparkle, Luna here. We are still alive. If you want to meet us, we are about twenty five thousand light years away. You will know where and when. Please respond." The broadcast message reads.
Hoping one day, that Twilight will reveal herself once more. Luna would never stop searching for her dear friend and fellow scientist, Twilight Sparkle. Even if it will take forever. She is good at waiting.
