//-------------------------------------------------------// Origin of the Friendship Games -by SomePonyy- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// After the games //-------------------------------------------------------// After the games Principal Cinch was furious. She marched up to Principal Celestia and pointed a finger at her. "Principal Celestia, it's clear that you're students had an unfair magical advantage! On behalf of Crystal Prep, I demand you forfeit the Friendship Games!" "Principal Cinch, you should be grateful you and you're students are ok. Surely that's more important than a victory is it not?" "At least they didn't manipulate Twilight into releasing all of that stolen magic and turning into a power crazed creature that tried to rip the world apart just to win a game," Sugarcoat said flatly. "Wow, that's a lot to take in when you say it all at once!" Pinkie commented. Cinch's eyebrows began to twitch in anger. "Obviously, my students have been infected with your magic, but I plan on taking all of this up with the school board!" she said aggressively. Principal Celestia, Vice Principal Luna, and Dean Cadence grinned. "Alright then. I'm sure they would love to hear about the students with magical wings." Cadence said. "Or the portals to alternate dimensions," Celestia added. "Or the talking dog," Luna finished with a smirk. "Because that would never ruin your reputation!" Spike said. The other students from both Crystal Prep and CHS glared at the evil Principal. Cinch looked ready to explode in anger but quickly calmed herself down. Left with no other choice, she turned around and left without saying another word. After Principal Cinched left, Principal Celestia cleared her throat. "I know the Friendship Games wasn't anything like we expected but I think it's safe to declare us all winners given all that we've been through." The students cheered. Sure Canterlot High might not have won, but at the very least they didn't lose like the last times. " A tie? I'll take that over any loss!" Rainbow Dash said. "Ooh this is the best way to end the Friendship Games!" Pinkie squealed excitedly. Celestia smiled as she looked at her students and the ones from Crystal Prep. "There's also a very special visitor that we'd like you all to meet." "I wonder who it is?" Lemon Zest wondered. "You think it's someone famous?" Sugarcoat asked. Cadence walked up to the crowd, but she wasn't by herself. She was pushing someone in a wheelchair who was an elderly man in his early 80s. She introduced him to the students. "Everyone, this is Mr. Moore. A lot of you might know him, but in case you didn't know-" "Oh my gosh You're the original creator of the Friendship Games!" Sour Sweet squealed excitedly. She realized she had spoken up a little too quickly. "Oh I'm sorry, sir. That was rude of me." Mr. Moore gave a friendly smile. "Don't worry about it. I know you're just excited." The other students were shocked. "Wait...that's the man who created the Friendship Games?!" Pinkie asked in amazement. "I don't believe it." Rainbow muttered. "Sour Sweet is right. Mr. Moore is the reason why we even have the Friendship Games," Luna told the students. "The Academic Decathalon isn't my idea though," Brian admitted. "That was the schools'" Cadence told the students. "But everything else was all Mr. Moore's idea." Celestia came up to him and knelt down. "Brian, it's so great to see you," she said as she gave him a hug. "Why it's always a pleasure to see you again, Celestia." Brian said. He chuckled. "I almost didn't recognize this place until Cadence told me that it was Canterlot High! Man I haven't been here since I graduated almost 70 years ago!" He couldn't help but smile at all the students from both schools. "And it's an honor to meet all of you as well. I heard about the results and I must say, I am quite surprised. Never before has there been a tie." "Well, there is a first time for everything," Twilight said. "Have you ever participated in them yourself?" "Actually I only did for the very first one...which was..." Brian seemed to ponder. His memories weren't really sharp so he was having a hard time remembering what happened during the first ever Friendship Games. "Well the first ever one I went to was when Principal Celestia and Vice Principal Luna were still in grade school. It was hosted right here on the same field." He smiled to himself as he remembered not only his first Friendship Games but the very first one ever. "Well anyways my first one would be my last because well...let's just say motorbikes and I don't go well together. Had a huge crash that put me in this wheelchair," he chuckled. "But just because I would never be able to compete in them, I didn't want to make that a reason to stop the other students from expirencing a great event." "Um excuse me, sir, but you created the Friendship Games?" Fluttershy asked. "Indeed I did, dear but the reason I did isn't all happiness and sunshine." He seemed to frown a little which made the students worried, but he reassured them by insisting not to worry. "Well I think we'd be very interested to know the origins of the Friendship Games, Mr. Moore." Sunset said with a warm smile. The other students agreed. "Well if you all insist, but I must tell you it's a pretty lengthy story." Brian said. "I'm sure we have all the time." Sunset assured him. Brian nodded and began to tell them his story. *76 years ago* On the outskirts of Canterlot was the country side. Mostly green plains surrounded by forests that seemed to go on for miles on end. It wasn't completley flat. Hills, some steeper than others were present. There wasn't a whole lot of people who lived on the country side. Most citizens prefered the city lifestyle. Reasons why weren't always the same. Some might enjoy the late night city lights, others might enjoy shopping, but for one family, thier son and his friends enjoyed coming here whenever they got the chance. Walking across the plains were three friends. Brian Moore, Thomas Quin, and Kayla Jennings. Although they didn't know it yet, they would one day be the creators of the event that will be passed on from generations of years to come. Author's Note The story begins in the next chapter.
