What do three displaced siblings, a few displaced Equestrians, and several students from CHS have in common?

Initially very little, but they do have a dividing line; their homes. Separated from the worlds they'd once known, these unfortunate souls find themselves in a new, strange world where everyone decides problems with a strange game called 'Duel Monsters'. It's an obsession, and almost as much a part of everyday life as walking or breathing.

In the heart of Crossroads Academy, a young boy sits and bides his time, seeking clues as to where his brother and sister might be. Travelling the highways, a young woman drives with intent to reach Crossroads City, searching for any clues about her little brothers along the way.

And all the while, in the background, dark forces are at work, intent to revive an evil force from nearly 2 decades past.

Will the displaced souls, brought together by fortunate circumstance, be able to fight back and win? Or will they buckle under the pressure, and let the waves take them under?
