Prologue: A Small Explanation
And how the hell have I found myself in this situation? I look up staring into the eyes of the most powerful creature in this world, and smile.
"Now don't worry about time, that I have plenty of." Celestia smiled as she spoke, her joke taking its time to register in my tired mind.
"Alright, you want to know what happened? Then sit down and grab some popcorn, this is going to be fun."
I suppose I'll just start at the beginning like most of these stories. I was thirteen years old when it happened. I had not been adopted yet and was still living wherever I didn't get chased from. That day in particular I was hanging out in Penn Station, playing a guitar I had 'borrowed' from the orphanage before I left. Sadly this was no normal day for me or anyone in Manhattan. (Yes Princess, there is a city in my world called Manhattan, why? Manehattan? What the fu..... Never mind, Back to the story!)
Now everything was going fine and casual most of the day, I made a little bit of cash and was packing up to go grab a bite to eat. Then this guy comes running into the station like a maniac. He looked kinda panicked, but what did I care? He seemed to be another guy from the street, probably high as a kite and drunk off his ass to boot. He was wearing sneakers, black I think, blue jeans, a shirt I couldn't make out, an undershirt, and a jacket. The jacket was black with some red design on the back that I couldn't see well from where I was standing. The guy was wearing the hood on his jacket up so that I could not see his face. Now the guy was running like he was an athlete, but he still managed to be followed. That's when the soldiers arrived. The BlackWatch, what a fitting name, anyway they stormed down the stairs yelling at the man. I stand there, leaning against a support beam ,or whatever holding my guitar case slowly putting on my hat in case I would have to make a mad dash for the exit, they soldiers seem to only be focused on this dude though, pointing guns at the guy and telling him to 'give it up' and release the vial'. They seemed pretty angry at the guy, but all he did was smiled, then he dropped the vial. At first everyone froze. No one new what was in the vial and it seemed not to do anything..... Until the soldiers freaked. They went ballistic, yelling something into their mics about 'the virus has been released'.
Of course as soon as the word 'Virus' left the soldier's mouth. err face mask, all hell broke loose. People started freaking out and running around. Now this is where the real weird shit happened. The soldiers just blasted the guy in the chest. They turned him into ground beef right there in front of everyone. Now when the Mililtary just start firing on some guy in the middle of Penn station, that's kinda the hint to get the hell out of there. Of course I tried, but taking three steps I fell on my face, I had started coughing and it literacy forced me to the ground. Now, mind you, I have been sick before, but not so sick that I could not move from my position on the ground or so sick that I hallucinated the gunk from the vial slipping into the wounds on the dead guy's body.....or the crap sliding over to me and then into my own gaping mouth.
I got onto my feet and I ran, that shit was in my throat, I could feel it sloshing around and clinging to the sides of my mouth. That is when I made the worst mistake of the entire experience. I took a breath. The sludge moved into my lungs and filled them like water filling balloons. It was gone from my throat, but I could feel the weight of the sludge in my lungs, pulling and stretching. It was the worst pain I have ever felt.
After stumbling into some back ally I fell unconscious, sure that these would be my last glimpses of life. Well, rather anti-dramatically might I add, I awoke a few hours later in the same ally. That is when I put the entire experience behind me as a really weird dream. That day I used what money I had and got the hell out of Manhattan. I got as far as Philadelphia, in a state called Pennsylvania. (Yes, Princess, Philadelphia? Yeah that's a city in my world.....wait don't tell me......Fillydelphia. What the hell.) That aside, I was trying to find a way out of Pennsylvania when I was picked up by the PCCYFS, or The Pennsylvania Council of Children, Youth & Family Services. Yep, that is how I ended up on a bus on the way to a state I had never heard of called Missouri. A foster family had found me and wanted to adopt. Yeah, I was not really that exited about having to be shipped off to some people I had never met before's house, I was acually kinda looking forward to being cared for by somebody. I never got that as a child. I grew up in a New York orphanage with like fifty other little brats just like me. When I turned ten I just ran and never looked back. Now, I was getting parents, and a brother apparently.
The next few months went by without much excitement, I grew close to my new family fast, I started school like a normal kid, I had a big brother to goof off with, and I had found a girl that I cared a lot about. Now, we fast forward a little bit. When I was like....fourteen? Maybe, fourteen and a half...well that's not important. I had long ago told my brother Sean what had happened. Strange thing? He believed and accepted me. That was the thing about Sean, he never questioned what you said if he thought you were being sincere, he just helped how he could and gave all he could to help. Well, anyway, that month the guy I had seen die at Penn Station had been destroyed in what the army called 'a nuclear terrorist attack'. Yeah, I detect bullshit in that, but whatever, the point is, I had watched that man die. Next thing I know, I'm watching him on the news running around at insane speeds, killing people and these 'infected' with strange powers. I wanted nothing to do with any of it, but Sean thought that maybe I had gotten those powers too. That is when the research started.
We poured all our time into finding out what happened that night, from research on the man known as Alex Mercer to the virus that spawned him. We didn't find much on the virus itself, but Alex was everywhere, hundreds maybe thousands of websites devoted to the guy and his abilities. So we looked into it. Through research on him I developed my powers into what they are today. Then one day at school the Military unit known as Blackwatch arrived at hospitals, schools, and places of work, offering a serum that could keep the virus from affecting people. Like a vaccine. My brother and I found out that it was really stuff called Bloodtox that would kill the virus if it was present in your system, but would not affect humans. Apparently they had discovered that someone had escaped Manhattan the day the virus was released. Now they were hunting that person to extinction. With not much choice I took the Bloodtox serum and then left. The effects didn't really come until the next morning.
I awoke to find most of my arm a melted pile on the ground. My blood boiled and burned like acid. My brother thought that if we replaced my blood we could stop the Bloodtox. Now we had seen research on Alex 'consuming' people, but I didn't think I could do that. It wasn't my morality or my emotions stopping me, no the virus seemed to stop those parts of the human body. No, I just did not believe I possessed that kind of power. Until I did it. I found some poor sap walking home. I limped my sorry butt over to him and just jumped at him. I didn't know what to do so I just was going to tackle him and see what happened. That is when I got results.
It seemed that I could turn into a sort of sludge and enter people through their mouths like the virus did me. I then invaded their lungs and became the oxygen that their blood carried into their brains. After that I just absorbed the poor guy's body from the inside. Sadly when I turned into goop I lost all of my cloths, and when I absorbed the man I could not absorb the synthetic fibers of his clothes. So I retrieved my clothes and walked home. Like nothing happened. It was weird, I didn't feel bad for killing the guy, like he was just my everyday meal. Speaking of which. I have not eaten in three years. THREE YEARS! Yep, from what I gather the virus shut off my stomach, my lungs, and my heart. As long as my brain was pumping with energy from the blood I absorbed I was fine.
Well, that was pretty much how that went.
"Why did that sound like an emotionless recount of you life in like 5 seconds?"
"Because it was ok. I hate getting emotional."
"Well then let me take over."
Kyra stepped from behind Zane. She looked into the Princess' eyes with something that looked like a plea.
"Yes, you tell the story."
Alright well. Zane had been going on fine for a few months when something bad happened. The Blackwatch had been following him ever since the Bloodtox incident. On his way home with his brother, Zane decided to get out of the car and test his running speed verses his brother's 'piece of crap' as he put it. Sean agreed and raced him. When they came to a stoplight Sean stopped but Zane did not. He passed his brother up and continued running. He turned around when he realized his brother was no longer following him. That's when he heard the crash. He ran to Sean's car to find the side smashed in and a drunk guy complaining from his truck. Zane checked on Sean, but it was too late. Sean was dead and the drunk guy was yelling and yelling about stupid kids and insurance. Zane told me that Sean had the right to go and the drunk guy was supposed to stop. When the drunk climbed back into his car Zane chased him.
He jumped in front of the truck and yelled at the man. The guy hit his breaks before he could hit Zane and just kept on yelling. Zane is a good guy, but he was angry. He punched the hood of the truck, tilting it onto the front and catching it by the windshield...then...then he ripped the guy out of the truck through the windshield and threw him on the ground letting the truck drop. The cabin kept the truck from killing the man, so Zane jumped on the back end. The tailgate smashed into the guy's neck and ripped his head off........
Princess Celestia looked from the human girl in front of her to the boy that she was thinking was more of a monster than a man. "You killed this man?"
"Hell yeah! That prick deserved everything that I did to him. He owed every drop of his blood that was spilled to Sean. Sean died that night because of that piece of shit!" Tears were visible in the boy's eyes. He looked to the floor. "Sean did not deserve to die....."
Kyra looked at Zane with sadness that threatened to force her to tears. "Kyra, please continue."
"Ye.....yes p-Princess."
The Blackwatch followed Zane everywhere after that. A few months after the incident they stormed our school, they Chased Zane from the building but he managed to escape. I found him exactly where I thought I would. At Sean's grave.
"Then, we are being surrounded by military. Suddenly purple mist surrounds us and then *poof* we're here. I know it all sounds cliche and it really sounds like an ill prepared story, but you have to believe us!" We explained why Zane is like he is, how we got here, and why there are humans with guns terrorizing your people. Please believe us...."
Celestia looked at the two. She gave Kyra a look of sympathy and then addressed them both. "Actually you didn't explain how these 'Blackwatch' came here. You were brought here because of Twilight and I's spell, but we did not mean to summon you, and we most certainly did not summon them. So where did they come from?"
A dark figure stepped from the shadows holding a gun up to the princess. He was followed by a full platoon of men, all armed to the teeth. "I believe I can answer that question, 'Princess'."

And Now for our Feature Presentation
Three Days Earlier
As I look into the masks of the soldier's surrounding me, I have no reason to be afraid of death, besides one regret. Kyra has followed me and is now standing by my side, as loyal as ever, refusing to leave me, even in the face of destruction. I have to hand it to her, no human would dare stand up for me now. I focus mass into both of my arms, my right becoming the curved blade based on Mercer's, the left becoming a great shield.
"Kyra, get behind the biggest gravestone you can find, just sit there and wait for the gunfire to end."
Kyra nods and turns to move. I look straight ahead. The force fully consists of foot soldiers, thirteen, that I can count. They all seem to be equipped with standard assault rifles, the name I cannot pinpoint. The tension hangs so thick in the air you could cut it with a knife, so I oblige. I rush the nearest soldier, catching him off-guard, and in the gut. The blade sinks into his chest and protrudes form the other side, I can only hope the last thing he sees is the crazed smile on my face. At this sudden attack the others unload everything they have. My fear is extinguished as the first few bullets fly right into me and I feel no more than a small irritation where each landed. The smile on my face somehow grows even larger, another soldier falls to my blade and my smile threatens to break apart my face. A very loud shriek drags me from my stupor as Kyra runs right up to me in the middle of a fire fight and of all things, gives me a hug. I return my arms and form a shell-like shield around Kyra as she clutches onto me and refuses to let go.
"Hey, I love hugs as much as the next guy, but this is kinda a bad time."
"Yeah well tell that to the purple cloud over there!"
Kyra points into the small graveyard where I can see purple smoke coiling and stretching out to reach us. Now if I had to choose between a strange purple cloud and the entire United States Military, I would run into the gunfire head first. Seeing as Kyra is with me and not budging leads me to choose differently. I pick myself up leaving Kyra clutched in the shell like shield. I rush into the mist expecting to use it as a cover to find an escape. Instead the shit starts attacking me. The smoke curls around me like vines and holds me still. I struggle but the mist has its hold. As I am slowly absorbed into the swirling purple smoke all I can hope for is Kyra's safety.

"Twilight Sparkle you and I both know that section of the library is forbidden for a reason. Leonardo colt Vinci was considered mad when those designs were made. They were sealed away so that nopony would ever try to follow a crazy old stallion's delusions."
"I know princess, but I have found that this project is completely stable if done correctly. I just need your help."
"Alright my faithful student, if you believe it is safe then I will help you. What do we need?"

Twilight stood across from the Princess. The throne room had been invaded by a large coil with many forms of screens, computers, and electrical conduits surrounding it. Two ponies stood on either side of one another. Twilight foucused hard and poured her magic into the conduits near her. The Princess did the same until the central coil glowed with their combined magics. The coil began to grow and expand before slowly melting into a sludge in the circle of tech surrounding it. The two ponies cut the flow of magic and looked into the strange liquid. The liquid began to shift and move into a single position in the middle of the floor. The sludge began to take the shape of two creatures standing, both creatures were great in size, taller even than the Princess. The goop solidified and then cracked open revealing the two beings inside.

I don't know what is going on. The last thing I remember is being sucked into that cloud of purple. Man was that weird, wait, Kyra. I move my arms erratically, breaking the almost egg-like shell that covers my body. Upon escape however my legs fail me and I collapse. Looking to my left and my right I can see strange computers everywhere. I see Kyra laying next to me, eyes open and staring at me.
"Zane....Zane we made it!"
I stand and grab Kyra, bringing her up onto her feet and embracing her. Somehow we escaped and she was alright. Everything was fine. Until I look around a notice a freaking pony with wings and a horn approaching me.
"Hello. My name is Princess Celestia. You are in the land of Equestria. Who and what are you?"
It can fucking talk.
I look at Kyra who gives me a scared and questioning look. I turn to the talking pony and look it in the eyes, right before picking up Kyra and jumping straight over the things head. I see a pair of double doors ahead and rush for them. I streach out my body creating a tall rectangle space in my chest where I place Kyra. "Prepare for impact." She nods and I close the hole in my chest. I hit the door and knock it off its hinges sending both of them flying down the hallway that I have found myself in. Two more ponies that I guess are guards rush me with spears. The first I simply kick in the head and send flying. The other rushes my side and its spear makes contact with my shoulder. I take the spear from his hands and hold it in my arm. He backs away at the sudden swallowing of his weapon. I take this distraction and run for the doors that I guess would be the exit.
Knocking the doors down I finally make it out into the sunlight...and into an ambush of pony guards. There is a lot of the damn things. I mean a lot.
"There is no where for you to run creature. You could just calm down and give up. You and your friend, wherever she is, will not come under prosecution given the circumstances."
The white pony that met me in the first room is behind me along with a shorter purple pony at her side. Now I notice that they both have horns and the white one also has wings. This is the weirdest place I have ever been. I turn around to face the larger white pony. She is looking at me with a smile of all things. As I look around for a way out I can hear the loud horn of a train somewhere beyond the balcony that lies before me. I slowly back into the balcony while still giving my attackers and emotionless stare. Over the edge I can see a train slowly taking off away from a station underneath where I stand.
"Kyra."
"Yeah Zane?"
"Remember that time you talked about me having wings?"
"Yeah."
"Well what if I gave you wings."
"What do you mean?"
"You have been hang gliding with your dad right?"
"Yeah, Zane what are you planning?"
"Look when I say now you jump off the balcony behind us."
"WHAT!?"
"Look just trust me ok?"
"Fine."
I turn to look at the white pony that has been staring at me this whole time. I move the spear I stole from the guard through my body and into my right arm. I raise my arms in surrender and drop to one knee.
"Alright fine. You win. I give up."
The guards begin to approach me with their weapons drawn, as soon as they get into touching distance I pull my right arm back and let the spear loose as an arrow. The guards are fairly surprised by this and take a leap backwards.
"NOW!"
Kyra jumps from behind me and off the balcony. The 'Princess' sees this and a very shocked expression crosses her face before watching be back flip right off after Kyra. I wrap my legs around Kyra's torso and force all the bio mass I can into my arms. Somehow I am able to make a hang glider out of my stretched out body and we not so gently float to the train and land with a rather painful *thud*. As I stand and help Kyra up I can see the guards with the Princess staring at us with amazement from the balcony. Of the city. Yep, it was a little farther down from the castle we were apparently on. We jumped form a castle and fell down a mountain onto a moving train. Fucking awesome.

Alright. Lets just go through the last couple of minutes:
We were attacked by the U.S military.
We were attacked by a sparkly purple cloud.
We ended up in a world of talking horses.
We were attacked by said talking horses.
Damn. Everything wants to attack us. Well the train ride landed us in a town of some kind far away from that damned castle. Sadly we expect they will be looking for us so sneaking off of this train and through the town will be interesting to say the least.

Getting through the small town was...... strange. I ran into more of those guards, fighting ensued and Kyra and I were driven into a forest on the outskirts of the town. Yeah, real fun. Now we have a bunch of crazed ponies searching for us in a dark, creepy, and dense forest. I'm having a great day by the way, no need ask or anything.
Kyra began to set up a sort of camp site for out leisurely stay in 'The Forest of Doom'. Right now my job is, drum roll please, collecting firewood. Yep, real dramatic right? Well stick around it gets real interesting real fast. Now as a city kid, back alleys and skyscrapers were my jungle, this is just......out there. The wood wasn't really a chore to find, its kinda everywhere, but the sounds. I heard alleys behind strip clubs that sound less creepy in every way. Anyway.....
Walking around lent its own fair share of *crunch* *crunch* *crunch* from the leaves underfoot, then in the distance I could hear another kind of *crunch* *crunch* *crunch* as wood was snapped and shattered into pieces.
My steps slowed as my heart began to race. From my hiding place behind a tree I see a lion attacking walking trees.....
The lion watched the wood creatures circle round and round, each twitch of the lion's muscles being acquainted with a growl from the wooden forms. The first real movement came from one of the wooden creatures. It lunged for the lion's side and was greeted with a scorpion looking tail into its side. The lion took this moment to jump onto the nearest woodog creature and tear it into twigs. At that point every other woodog surrounding the lion jumped into a crazed attack.
Ten seconds and the lion was standing in a puddle of twigs and blood. Cuts littered the creature's body allowing blood to freely flow and pool on the ground. I watched the creature move away from me before I started to return to camp.
*snap*
Fuck. The beast turns in my direction and charges. I look down at my feet to eye the offending twig before being tackled to the ground and stabbed repeatedly by the scorpion-like tail. The creature is still pumping with adrenaline from its earlier fight making it reckless and sloppy. I ooze from underneath the creature (making sure to hold onto my clothes this time) and reform next to it. The creature is taken by surprise long enough for me to deliver a swift kick to its side. The result is satisfying as the lion is hurdled into a tree. The thing recovers and starts to charge me head first. This time i'm ready for it however and as I side step its charge at the last second my bladed arm sails smoothly down the beast's side leaving a long read line down its side. The creature roars in pain and decides that the best course of action is another charging maneuver. This time I follow its lead and rush forward. The lion begins to rise from the ground using the wings adorned on its back. I take to a tree and, using it as a take off position, launch myself at the creature, and down its gullet.

Dear Diary,
Boy do I have an entry for you today. Right now as I write I am sitting in a homemade tent as Zane searches for fire wood so that we don't freeze as we hide from the guards that are hunting us down. Yep, sounds like an exiting and thrilling adventure right? Yeah well here's where it gets just plain weird. The people hunting us aren't people at all, their ponies. PONIES! Pastel coloured ones that talk to be completely correct. Honestly I should probably be in shock or a coma from all that's happened lately. Yet I stand here writing completely OK, but no thanks to my 'iron sanity', no I owe my well being to Zane. When I followed him from the school I never suspected we would end up on an adventure of such strange circumstances. But, I will follow Zane to hell and back, I love that little punk and he somehow loves a little nerd like me. I will never be in danger as long as I'm with Zane.

Sulking into the clearing we set up camp at I could see Kyra in the tent she had made lying down. I approached her and smiled. Knocking on the wood support as lightly as possible Kyra sat up to see who was there. Her smile made the last few hours melt away as she stared at me. As she picked her glasses up and slipped them on she eyed me suspiciously.
"Why are you knocking, its your tent too." Her smile faded and her eyes searched over my body as she eyed the rips and scratches in my cloths. "What happened to you?"
I can't help but smile at her worry for me no matter the situation.
"I ran into some grumpy forest animals and we had a little talk. Honestly if your worried about me you should see them."
Her looked changed into one of bemusement as she listened to my explanation. "Well big bad boy come in here so I can sew your clothes up. Your lucky I grabbed my backpack when I decided to chase you down after the school incident."
Moving into a crouch and squeezing my way into the tent I stared at her as she reached into her bag and started threading a needle. The cuts were small and almost infinite in numbers. Needless to say I sat there in small conversation with Kyra until my clothes were fixed. After she finished we sat there together in each other's arms admiring the night. Living in Manhattan leaves you little opportunity to see stars at night, that being said we could see all of the stars that night under the trees. It was beautiful. Kyra named off many constellations she recognized as I kept a look out for any other 'visitors'. After some time had passed Kyra shivered and looked into the pit that she had dug for a fire.
"Hey, you never did bring fire wood back. What happened to it."
I removed my arm from around her shoulder, stood, and face palmed at full strength. Throwing myself into a tree about six feet behind me. I dropped all the fire wood I had collected when the lion attacked me. Thankfully the tree I just assaulted should yield its fair share.

Twilight Sparkle allowed the binoculars to lazily float to the ground in her magic as she scribbled on the small notepad levitating before her. Behind her a little distance away her five friends sat in differing levels of excitement.
"So they just came out of the portal and ran?"
The voice of one rainbow maned pony cut through the silence that had given Twilight comfort over the last hour of 'scouting'.
"Yes Rainbow. Princess Celestia and I summoned them and they fled the castle."
"Did they seem mean? Oh, maybe we shouldn't be following them...."
"Don't worry Fluttershy. If these creatures try anything I'll just take 'em out with a few good kicks."
"Rainbow, your getting a little ahead of yerself don't ya think?"
"Oh, come on AJ. I could take anypony in a fight right here right now!"
Twilight rolled her eyes at Rainbows bull headed attitude. Turning her attention to the only ponies who haven't said anything yet she could see yet another win for Pinkie Pie in the ongoing tic-tak-toe war between her and Rarity.
"Look everypony. The creature wearing the black shirt and jacket seems to have some type of shape changing magic. It seems to be very strong and I do not want to underestimate either of these new creatures."
"Is that the reason you got us all out here with the Elements of Harmony doing absolutely nothing?"
"Yes. I am researching our enemy. The Elements are my plan B."
Fluttershy stood from her spot on the ground and walked up to Twilight keeping her head low.
"Well then Twilight. What have you learned...um...if you don't mind me asking..."
"No Fluttershy I don't mind at all. Well, from what I have seen the one in black is extremely protective of the one in pink. They speak the same language as us but, obviously, use a dialogue that sometimes confuses me. The one in black has displayed amazing feats of strength while I have observed him. I have determined the one in black to be male given his evidence of facial hair and his deeper voice. I have determined the one in pink to be female, saying this I believe they are in a romantic relationship. Back to the black coated one. He has pulled a full grown tree from the ground and snapped it apart like a twig without even breaking a sweat by using the legs positioned on his shoulders next to his head. These 'arms' as they are called end in 'hands' which seem to work similar to monkey 'hands' being that they end in smaller appendages called 'fingers that allow them to grab and handle objects. This due to their lack of magic."
"Wow Twilight. You sure did learn a lot about these creatures in just one hour."
"Well thank you Fluttershy. I pride myself on my research skills."
"Too bad you can't find any pride in your whispering skills."
The six ponies jumped into the air at the sudden deep voiced intrusion. They gathered in a loose formation-like crowd against a tree. Fluttershy hiding almost inside of the tree with Rarity close by. Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash and Applejack formed triangle like shield for their two friends with Twilight at the front, horn glowing with magic.
"Woah. Calm down there Chaney. No need for any 'accidental' deaths in this forest. "
The six mares stayed nearly still. Their breathing had slowly calmed until they were back to a decent heart rate.
"How did you find us?"
Zane smiled. 'Well at least their not trying to kill me and Kyra.'
"Well honestly you are pretty loud over here talkin to each other. I could hear most of your conversation before I decided to include myself."
"What! We are at least two hundred hooves from your camp. How did you hear us?"
"Well like I said, you weren't exactly whispering. That and the super sensitive hearing helps."
"Super sensitive hearing? Hmm, I need to add that to my notes...."
Twilight began to scribble on her note pad as a surprised Kyra joined small gathering. At this Twilight looked up from her research.
"So, why are you talking to us now and not running like you did at the castle?"
A slight smile crept across Zane's face. "Well. If I think you are threatening in any way I could take on you six. I was not however sure I could take on an entire castle."
Twilight froze and looked into the creature's eyes. "Whats that supposed to mean?"
"Well, I mean what I said. If any, or all of you, pose a threat in any way, I will kill you."
At this Fluttershy, Rarity, Twilight Sparkle, and Pinkie Pie almost knocked the tree over backing into it. Only two ponies moved forward. Rainbow dash rushed forward until she was inches from the creature's face. Applejack rushed forward and grabbed RD's tail in her mouth.

The collection cringed as Zane began to laugh. "That is the best threat you have? That is sad, I mean yeah, you all look like you came out of a girls cartoon, but I didn't expect you all to act like it! bwahahahahaha!"
The group cringed at Zane's sudden laughter. Until Pinkie Pie joined him and the pair were rolling on the ground clutching their sides.
"Yeah. I mean, you would think there would be a better response seeing how this author writes for teenage audiences! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH"
Every face in the small gathering contorted in confusion. "Pinkie what are you talking about? What 'Author'?"
Pinkie smiled before breaking out into even harder laughter.
Zane stood up and looked to Twilight with confusion plain on his face. "What the hell is wrong with your friend?"
Twilight smiled before giving the most honest answer she could.

The Machine worked. We found the rift left from that purple mist. Once located we exploited and widened the rift allowing us to pass through. The first squad into the portal was mine. So far we've found nothing but forest habitat flora and fauna. As I record this I am standing night watch outside the newly formed camp. I've been hearing noises off and on for hours. I swear I heard a chicken in the bushes around nightfall, since then I have heard the growling of a wolf of some kind an the roar of a lion. There is something wrong with this place. Some soldiers were talking about seeing a village in the distance on the scout plane. I hope they are friendlies. I'm glad I was able to grab the night shift. I can't sleep anymore. The faces of my comrades still haunt me... Did you know some of them died screaming? I heard it. We all had our communicators on and I could hear their screams... I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHY I MAKE THESE ANYMORE...No one listens to them...No one pays them any mind... I feel like I'm doing nothing more than talking to myself...maybe that's all these are anymore...well, if I must talk to myself, the least I can do is answer...

Squad 51F: Paranormal Division
On paper it was simple. Then again, everything was simple on paper.The plans were written and signed off on, then given to my squad leader. They were to get in, grab Code-name: Hercules and get out. Simple on paper. The chase from the school ended ironically enough at a cemetery. Code-name: Zeus was KIA, we needed the kid for testing to better understand this evil that still haunted dreams. He was the last carrier. He was the last one who could hep us know the truth and we let him escape. The confrontation at the cemetery was bathed in blood. The bullets just flew through him. His arm arced through the air and through the bodies of my comrades alike. When Hercules started swinging I just stepped back. I stopped firing and stayed back so that Hercules couldn't see me. I watched my squad be massacred and I never moved. Then there was that mist. That strange purple mist that just appeared and swallowed Hercules and the girl.
I sat there and watched as my squad was killed....
Command sent in a division that specializes with strange and paranormal stuff. I'm to go in today to tell them about the purple mist...I can only hope I don't end up like the rest of my squad.....

"I promise on my library and every book I own. Ugh..do I have to? Fine, cross my heart and hope to fly stick a cupcake in my AAAAAAHAHAAAHAA!"
Twilight closed her now aching eye as Pinkie and Zane held their aching sides. The day had become progressively calmer as everypony relaxed to the human's company. They all sat in a circle talking while Twilight tried to recover her sight.
"So you PINKIE PROMISE to go to Canterlot with us?"
"After watching your friend poke her eye out, I kinda owe it to you to visit your place."
*snap*
"Wait what was that?"
The silence of the forest shattered as the ground around the gathered humans and ponies began to violently shake. Trees began to bend as a great shadow was cast by the sudden appearance of helicopters in the air. The group looked on as tank after tank rolled through the forest and destroyed the bending trees.
"How...how did they follow us....."
The ponies looked on in concern and confusion. The machines ignored the group and thundered past until they were nothing more that dust and destruction on the horizon. Zane knew they were lucky...sadly his luck seemed to reach its point.
"HEY! Its them! Commander we found Code name: Hercules!"
A small platoon began surrounding the group. Zane looked on with a sad understanding at the situation, there was only one way out, one he wanted to avoid.
"Twilight?"
"Y..yes Zane..."
"Make a shield around you, your friends and Kyra. When I tell you to, run to the nearest place you can hide and ask for help."
"But....what about you?"
The red of infection engulfed his eyes as a smile crept onto his face. "Don't worry about me, I can handle this."
His next words were cut as his top jaw was separated from the bottom. His head rolled through the air before coming to rest on the ground next to four of the heads of his soldiers. "Now."
"Do not worry about them, your focus should be on me."
The remaining soldiers looked onto the shape of their nightmares, This creature was powerful, and pissed off.
