Sinking

A metal door opens from the structure of a restaurant. The door closes as Izzy walks in. A paper is pinned to the wall from the boss at the restaurant.

~All Employee Team is to be advised: Employee breaks have now been extended up to 40 Minutes. But keep in mind- The shorter your break is, the more bits you can make for the day! Rest well Everypony! ~ Dusk!~

Izzy walks past it and goes to her locker, she opens it and takes off her employee pin and puts it inside. She grabs her phone and dials Sunny, her marefriend. The phone rings and Izzy puts it up to her ear.

Sunny is sleeping on her couch, her lighthouse has finally been repaired after many weeks of rebuilding. The wind outside is soft and cool, birds fly above the tree line as the leaves blow slowly in the wind, the morning sun rises slowly above the ocean.

Sunny opens her eyes and hears her obnoxious ringtone coming from her phone, she groans slightly rubbing her eyes and pulling the covers up a little.

The ringtone persists as it continues ringing after 10 seconds, Sunny shuffles up and pulls the covers down and grabs her phone off the table. She opens her phone as the glare of the light pierces her eyes and she rubs her eyes and covers them for a second before putting her hoof down and closing her eyes slightly so it's not as bright. She looks over to the side and shrugs and sighs and turns her phone off seeming not to want to answer Izzy.

She rubs her eyes once more and pulls the covers out and sits up a little loosely due to waking up and she gets out of bed fixing the pillow she was resting her head on, she brushes her chest off and walks through the dimly lit room as the blinds are all shut.

Izzy sees she didn't pick up, she gets a little worried but calms down and waits for Sunny to call her back. She takes the water out of her locker and drinks it and sits down on the benches around the lockers and relaxes for a moment, gazing up to the ceiling.

Sunny walks up to the backyard of her lighthouse rubbing her eyes. she breathes for a moment and walks out onto her backyard. She walks over to a small pool she bought not long ago. it's green and has a couple orange leaves in it laying on the surface of the water.

The sound of something suffocating underwater can be heard muffled, it intensifies very slowly. The reflection of the trees are distorted by the warp of the water. Sunny stares at the water looking all around the edges of the pool then to the center.

The sound of a different phone ringing from back inside is heard, Sunny notices and looks back, She's is much more awake now and rushes over to the door, and opens it. She grabs the house phone off a table near the door to the side of it and
answers it and brings the phone to her ear.

"Hello?" Sunny asks.

"Hey I called you on your cell, but you didn't answer, so I called your house phone. You okay?" Izzy responds.

"Oh shit, yeah. No- It didn't go off... I'm probably gonna have to go order a new phone next week, so I don't miss calls," Sunny says.

"You think it's gonna be okay for the interview?" Izzy asks.

"Yeah... no. It's really not that bad," Sunny responds. she grunts softly and sits on the chair on her small porch.

"I'm gonna be sitting by the phone, so i'm not gonna miss it, I'm sure," Sunny responds.

"Okay, cool!" Izzy says.

"...So whats gonna be the plan for today? hm?" Izzy asks

"Uh- I'm having an interview tonight..?" Sunny says.

"Yeah I know. Fuck you!" Izzy laughs over the phone, and Sunny laughs with her for a second.

"I meant, like what are you going to do after? Are you busy?" Izzy asks

"...Yeah, Actually- Uh- Sorry, Im gonna be working on some mail I've been getting in my phone, and its probably gonna take a couple hours" Sunny responds

"Oh that's alright, I've also been really busy lately with my job, I've been working overnight for the past almost 3 weeks here" Izzy answers

"Wow, that's long, must suck to stay overnight there for almost 3 weeks, You okay?" Sunny asks.

"Yeah I'm better now. And also, just think! In almost 1 and a half years, we're gonna be living together! Finally! And in the meantime we're gonna be working together once your interview is finished!" Izzy says.

"I know! I can't wait either!" Sunny responds.

"Oh and thank you, by the way, for talking to Dusk about it," Sunny adds.

"Oh, he loves you! You'll do great! I promise. Just make sure you're by the phone please. I don't think he's gonna call twice," Izzy says.

"Oh he loves me, huh?" Sunny chuckles, and Izzy laughs over the phone a little.

"Alright, well I'll let you know how it's gonna go then," Sunny says.

"Alright! Good Luck. Stay by the phone!" Izzy asks.

"Okay! I love you," Sunny says.

"Love you too!" Izzy responds.

Sunny hangs up the phone.

Izzy opens her locker and puts the phone back in, she grabs her pin and puts it back on with the little strap. And then she closes the locker and walks towards the door back to work.

Sunny looks above the trees, as she looks back at the green pool. It ripples slightly in the wind, the leaves on it slowly bobbing up and down. Sunny walks back inside her house and sets the house phone on the table. She walks towards the kitchen and opens the fridge, the inside is almost empty. She sighs and closes the fridge door. Sunny walks over to a window in the living room. She looks outside onto the beautiful green glass swaying in the wind. Small waves crashing into the walls of the island slowly and peacefully.

She walks backs to the couch and relaxes, she lays down onto the couch and looks up to the ceiling, resting her head on the soft pillow. She daydreams and takes a deep breath and closes her eyes as she remembers the memories.

Her and Hitch's first meeting to talk.

The first date and time they ate together alone. How they both laughed and joked together back and forth.

And their first kiss.

Sunny turns over and faces her back to the couch, her face forward looking at the table and her phone. She thinks for a moment and looks at her phone. She closes her eyes gently and all of sudden it's night. she wakes up in a fright to her phone ringing with that obnoxious ringtone playing. She gets up quickly and grabs it and sees it's Dusk from the restaurant as the glare of a green light shines at Sunny's face.

Ad the ringtone persists, she sighs and takes deep breaths. She gets up and walks towards her back door. She opens it and the cold air flows inside the house. she walks over to the pool and stands right next to it, holding the phone with both hooves. She breathes a little faster, the glare of the green light shining from her phone, making her face light up with the color green.

As the ringtone continues, Sunny looks around and breathes rapidly, seeming nervous and scared slightly. She stops breathing for a second, and takes multiple fast deep breaths and exhales multiple times. She pauses for a second and the phone stops ringing. She looks at it confused, She breathes fast and takes a sigh of relief, almost laughing before the phone starts ringing again. She scoffs and breathes heavily. The sound of it starts getting muffled as she remembers her times with Izzy. The suffocating noise returns as it grows louder than before. Her heart starts beating faster. She looks angry and sad at the same time. Every memory of her and Hitch together start flashing by quickly, she was with Hitch while being with Izzy, a memory of Hitch and Sunny crawling into bed as they pull the sheets over themselves. they wake up and Sunny is confirmed to be pregnant and Hitch and her kiss, forgetting about Izzy. Sunny flashes back to the present. The sound becomes clearer, it is the sound of Izzy gurgling and gasping for air. The ringtone starts getting louder as her vision blurs slightly with green.

She yells out and drops the phone in the water almost crying as it splashes and everything stops, the sound, the ringing. She breathes heavily, relief washes over her like water, she feels her stress wash over her and down into the pool below as it begins to turn blue, with a small tint of blood red.

Morning comes, Sunny awakens laying near her pool and sits up straight smiling for a moment.

She breaths a sigh of relief and closes her eyes gently and slowly, and she gets lost in the moment, As Hitch hugs her from behind gently.
