The Undesirables

Moon charm couldn't believe it; what sat before her was a beast of legend. It had little to no hair, except for the jet black mane on top of his head. Its skin was a light olive color, with numerous scars all over his body; the most notable one on his chest is a horizontal scar from one shoulder to the other. Its face had angular features, with a small scar across its right cheek. The beast's eyes made a shiver run down her spine, they were small by pony standards, but those were the eyes of a predator; One was a bronze yellow, the other silver with a milky look to it. The only thing it wore was black undergarments that covered his lower area. The most eye-catching thing was his left arm or lack of a sort of metal arm in its stead, which looked heavily beaten and eroded. Are those blue vines growing out of it? What a strange creature; he looks strong, though!

Although, it was strange how her new master teats so high on her body.

It was a she, right?

No matter, it was time to introduce herself to her new Master or Mistress. She took a few steps forward and bowed before their new dark lord. "Oh, Dark lord, We beseech you!" She waited and waited until she heard his deep rumbling voice. "What the fuck?" She didn't expect that. The little pony stood at full height again and looked at her master's questioning face, and asked. "Is something the matter, master?" She pulled down her hood, revealing a female thestral.

To say that Raven was stunned would have been an understatement. He was looking at and talking to some tiny bat horse thing hybrid. From what he could tell, her coat was a light gray, while her mane was a deep blue. However, it was unkempt and wild. Her eyes were eyes with slit pupils; they held worry and curiosity. On her sides were little leathery wings that fidgeted; seems like she was nervous. He couldn't tell, but his gut told him that this was no adult, from the way she presented herself to how she spoke.

The cyborg nearly cracked a smile when she asked him what was wrong. "Many things, so many things... I" What could he say? Everything he could remember was either sweet lies or the painful truth. He gritted his teeth, closed his eyes shut, and he started to shake. "I.. I.." He said again; it was all too much. What could he do? sob, lash out, curse the world, or drop dead? "No! Keep it together, soldier, stay calm and assess the situation. Keep moving forward!" Raven listened to the little voice in the back of his head, and it was right. He took calming breaths and opened his eyes once again. "It doesn't matter." He felt oddly calm after saying that. All the doubt and frustration that clouded his mind cleared up.

Raven placed one arm on the floor and pushed himself up. He was wobbly, standing at his full height, currently 7'2". This, in turn, caused the other equine to back up in discomfort; even the little thestral backed up. "Strange, did I get taller?" He thought to himself. Raven got a complete look at his surroundings, and he wasn't surprised the least to find himself in a laboratory. The room was no bigger than 1600 square feet. The room was filled with broken machinery, nasod parts, and spilled chemicals. Oddly enough, he saw a computer terminal off to the side. He'll need to take a look at that later, but first.

He brought his attention back to the group. "Not that I'm not grateful, but who are you? All of you." He asked the group with an even tone, and he wasn't taking no as an answer. Also, he was a bit creeped out by this group, especially by that little bat thing.

"Eheheh, right. Um," Moon charm pawed the floor lightly and turned to the rest of the group. "Everypony! Hoods down, we need to introduce ourselves!"
...
"Did she say Everypony? What the fuck!"The tiny voice spoke in the back of Raven's mind.

The group pulled their hoods down as instructed. The best way Raven could describe this group was...Colorful, his one good eye stung from staring at them.

"I'm Moon Charm, and I'm the leader of this group!" Moon charm struck a slight pose with one hoof raised in the air.

"I am Oleander." This came from a posh-speaking unicorn to the far back of the group. She has a long spiral horn coming out of her head, bushy fetlocks, cloven hooves, and a leonine tail. Her coat is a light grey, and her mane is long, black, and has bright pink highlights. "Charmed." She looks Raven over and smirks. "How exciting, this Ape is going to be our new master." Raven only heard sarcasm.

He nodded to himself. "This bitch is on my shit list." The cyborg mentally noted.

Next came the most annoying voice Raven had ever heard in his life. "Hiya! Mister, big, dark, and scary! My name is Cozy Glow!" This came from a pinkish-gray pegasus, with a light artic blue mane and tail. The same mane and tail were styled in big puffy curls. She wore a giant white ribbon on her head." ”That’s a weird arm you got there! Can I have a good look at it?” She says, giving her most prominent and most innocent smile.

"Don't trust this little bitch"There was something wrong with this filly, and he could feel it. Just listening to her set off red flags.

Next came the zebra... With wings? "M-my name is Xuez, i-its nice to me you oh great one." His accent wasn't thick, but it did sound familiar for some reason. The colt's coat was a light brown, with black stripes, with his mane and tail sharing the same colors. He styled his mane in long dreads that reached his withers. "um, I. pleasedonthurtus!" he said quickly while taking a deep bow.

”That boy has been bullied.”The mercenary read him like a book.

This time, it came from two ponies. "I'M DEW!" the voice came from a filly bat pony. "AND I'M NIGHT!" The voice came from a colt bat pony this time. "AND WE'RE THE TWISTER TWINS!!!" They started running around each other in a circular motion. These two are pure white; their manes and coat were pure white. They had scarlet red eyes as well. The only thing that differentiated these two were mane styles. Dew had her mane in a ponytail, while Night had his in a mohawk.

"What's up with the-" He didn't get the finish that thought.

A bright red filly came in, yelling out, "HI, MY NAME IS AMBER STAR! AND I WANNA LEARN MAGIC!! I'M GOING TO MAKE THE BIGGEST EXPLOSIONS! THEY'RE GOING TO GO BANG, BANG, BOOM, BOOM, BANG, POW!" The filly had bright orange frizzy mane with blue highlights. Surprisingly, she didn't have any wings of any kind or a horn coming out of her forehead. The same couldn't be said about her personality. She was jumping around, making more obnoxious sounds with her mouth. "MOONY SAID, YOU'LL TEACH ME MAGIC WHEN WE FOUND YOU!"

”I fear for my life around this child." Raven thought as he glared down at Moon charm; she shrank under the man's gaze, and she gave him a sheepish smile. "I'll explain in a bit." she squeaked out.

Before he could say anything else, Ember held up a light green foal in her hooves. "Also, this is my sister, Jade Star." She said with a measure of calm. Like Ember, she didn't have any horn or wings of any kind. Jade had her purple mane done up in pigtails. The foal didn't say anything; she just blew a raspberry at him.

"That's just a baby."

Moon charm struck another pose. "AND TOGETHER! WE'RE THE OUTCASTS!" Her outburst caused Oleander and Cozy to groan and the twins to snicker and giggle.

Raven just pitched the bridge of his nose, wondering where his life went so wrong. "I've been awake for less than 10 mins, and things are going so wrong." He thought to himself. "So, why are you here?" He said with a hint of regret in his voice.

Moon charm struck yet another pose and pointed a hoof at him. "That's where you come in! Equestria is filled to the brim with fools and stagnation! A country with two incompetent princesses, scatterbrained heroines, a useless army who couldn't even stop half-starved bugs!" For something so tiny, her voice came loud and clear when speaking of those who draw her ire.

"No matter what happens, they never learn. Ponies never change! No matter how close the call is!" She stomped her hoof and walked closer to the cyborg. "You wanna know why?" Raven raised an eyebrow at that. "Because they want to keep their so-called peace! For Harmony!" She spat that last word out. "It's not peace; it's quiet! It's about upholding the status quo!" Moon turned to the rest of her group and pointed a hoof at Oleander.

"A unicorn who wanted to show the world that dark magic could be used for good. Did they hear her out? Nay! They called her monster and hunted her down like an animal" With those words; Oleander had a sullen look come across her face. Moon pointed a hoof at Cozy Glow. " A pegasus born to unicorn nobles! Did they raise and love her despite her differences?
NAY! They sent her away, can't having your only foal make you look bad!" Cozy bit the bottom of her lip at those words, pure hatred apparent as she drew blood.

Moon continued her tirade and pointed a hoof at Xeuz. "A half-breed born from pegasus father and Zebra mother! Did the equestrians who preach love and harmony give him a chance? NAY! They showed him nothing but hatred and ridicule!" Xeuz was sobbing openly as painful memories came flooding back. Moon brought her hoof over and pointed to the twins. "Twins abandoned by their thestral tribe because being born albino is a bad omen. Did the equestrians treat them fairly? NAY! Called vamponies, freaks of nature, a blight on the three tribes!" Night and Dew embraced each other after having those memories brought up.

The young thestral was far from over as she brought her attention to Ember."An Earth pony who wants to study and learn magic." Moon's voice became low and dangerous, and she glared up at the human once again. "They called her insane, a mud pony, delusional, screw loose. Did any of them give her a chance? Nay." Raven didn't even get a chance to get a good look at Ember's face; she had her back towards all of them. It was clear that she was trembling.

At this point, Moon was downcast; her rage all used up, but that didn't stop her from speaking. "I wanted my voice to be heard, spread new ideas, and make ponies think. But nay, I was denied that I was called troublemaker, liar, and delinquent.
" She sniffled as her eyes started to water. " I was content to live my life with my mouth shut with a false smile on my face. Until I was given this." She held up the artifact that freed Raven from his endless dream. "A bipedal creature, much like you ."
"And he told me 'If you want things to change, Bring a creature into this boring world. A beast who put Discord's schemes to shame, outwit the diarchy, and brought more death and destruction than any beast from Tartarus. A human. Use this relic, and it will show you the way.' Then he was gone."The filly wiped the tears with a fetlock and looked at Raven. "You're a Human, the beast of old, the great bringer of change, A dark lord?"

Raven nodded once. "I am a human, but I don't know about the other titles you threw out there. A dark lord? Where did you hear that from?" He asked with a tilt of his head.

This caused the filly to giggle. " I might have made that title up; I had to build your image somehow." There was an awkward silence for several seconds. Moon charm took a calming breath, her hoof on Raven's leg, "I know this is a lot to ask, but will you help us bring change to Equestria? No, this entire world?

Raven's view of these children was low, considering their antics and general Playfulness. But now, he was left wondering if his initial judgment was correct. Regardless, he would say yes, because he owed his life to them, but they needed to hear what he had to say. "I have no reason to say no." Moon charm was about to celebrate until he held a hand out to stop her.
"The path I walk is one filled with blood; if I join you, I will show little to no mercy to our enemies. Now I ask you, do you want my help?"

The room became dead silent, and no one said anything for the longest time. If the Outcasts refused Raven's help, he would help get them out of the facility, and they'd go their separate ways.

Oleander cleared her throat and brought Raven's attention. "We knew what we were getting ourselves into when we joined up Moon charm. Backing out now would be silly." She stood tall and proud after saying that.

Cozy nodded her head in agreement with a smile. "Yeah, can't make an omelet without breaking a few eggs. But we'll let you handle the more messy stuff." She stuck her tongue out at the last part.

Xuez rubbed the back of his head with a hoof and nodded. "Life isn't fair, and I know from first hoof experience. But Don't forget kindness can go a long way. Never forget that." He gave the mercenary his best smile.

The twins stomped their hooves together and said in unison, "No way we're backing out now!"

Ember had a mischievous grin on her face and said. "If you think a little blood is going to stop me from achieving my dream, you're dead wrong! Ain't that right, Jade?" She blew a raspberry on her baby sister's stomach, causing the foal to go into a giggle fit.

Moon charm nodded. "We're not backing down no matter what; we're going turn this place upside down."

For the first time in a long time, Raven smiled. These children's resolve was unwavering, and they knew what it takes to change things. Hopefully, they can follow through until they have his respect. "Not bad. I guess we're traveling together now. Which means I need a weapon. " Before anyone could question what he meant, he walked over to the far wall and grabbed a piece of iron pipe attached to the wall. Raven ripped the metal off the wall with little to no effort.

Raven held the four-foot-long pipe in hand and examined it. "This should do for now." He gave it a few test swings and nodded when he had a good feel. "By the way. Don't call me 'Master,' 'Dark lord,' or any of that crap. It's creepy.

Moon charm tilled her head in confusion. "So what do we call you then?" The man walked over to the young thestral and squatted down. Considering how short these foals were, he needed to; Oleander barely reached his torso with that horn, and she was the tallest of the group.

Raven smiled once again. "It's Raven Maxwell. It's nice to meet you." Honestly, he didn't know how things would end, but he might as well enjoy the journey.

Moon put on a cheeky smile and said, "Nice to meet you, Raven!" The foal couldn't be happier! Although she still had one question. She pointed a hoof at Raven's chest. "Why do you have teats?"

Raven's smile disappeared, and he let out a tired sigh. "I fucking hate kids", he thought to himself.
