The Broken Wheel of Fate

Princess Celestia flew over Ponyville with a gentle smile on her face. "I knew you could do it." She spoke quietly to herself; she couldn't be any prouder. Her faithful student has done something no pony has done before, and not even her mentor, Star Swirl, could do. Twilight Sparkle understood the magic of friendship. The sun princess watched her student's cutie mark take form in the air, a pink-sided star with six smaller stars around it.

Then it happened, a blinding light making anyone in the vicinity go blind for a few seconds. Next, an ear-shattering explosion was heard. After being blinded and hit by a shockwave, Princess Celestia nearly fell out of the sky. "AAAAAAAGGGH!" The screams of Twilight could be heard throughout Ponyville; the alicorn couldn't see to follow the sounds of her faithful student's screaming.

When her vision did finally return, what she saw sent shivers down her spine. Twilight's incorporeal form was hit by something mid descent. The cutie mark became a dark purple, while the little white stars became black, but the worst part was the black eyeball appearing in the middle of the cutie mark. "This wasn't part of the plan. What happened!" she asked herself in near hysteria.

The screaming finally stopped, but that didn't ease the princess's worries. She landed near the golden oak library, and she gagged at what she saw. Twilight Sparkle had holes all over her hind legs, just like a changeling. Black thestral wings, along with fangs poking out of her mouth. Her horn became jagged, something similar to the queen of changelings. Her once beautiful tail was now long and scaly. Her fur was now covered in black stripes, just like a zebra. One eye looked like it belonged to a dragon, and the other looked like it belonged to a changeling drone.

No one said anything, not the princess, Twilight's friends, or the other ponies who came by to view the event. Twilight just stood there in a daze, unable to comprehend what just happened. Pinkie was the first to scream! "YYYYYYYYYAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!" Other ponies did the same, while others started running in panic.

The panicking ponies broke Twilight out of her stupor, and she instantly felt something wrong with her body. She turned to head to the side to get a better look at her new body, and she was stunned. She couldn't believe it. Her new jagged horn lit up, and she conjured a mirror out of her magic. The new 'Alicorn' took in her unique appearance and did what any other proper pony would do in this situation; she screamed at the top of her fucking lungs! "YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!"

Meanwhile, Princess Celestia just stood there like a statue with thousands of questions running through her mind. "What went wrong?!" "This isn't correct!" "Is it my fault?!" "Is this part of Harmony's plan?!" "Can Lulu and I fix this?!" "Did Discord do this?!" These were one of many questions going through her mind. But now she had to comfort her new fellow princess...

"Can I really announce her as a new princess of friendship while she's like this?"

A few minutes earlier in Ponyville

Vinyl Scratch angrily mumbled as she trotted towards her room window. There was a flash of light and loud noise that came from outside. Thankfully the DJ was inside while this all happened, but this interrupted her music-making and mixing. "I wonder what kind of disaster-hit ponyville this time. "Maybe a pack of angry hedgehogs or something?" The unicorn said to herself while opening her window.

Her Jaw dropped after seeing what was going on. A dark wave of energy traveled across the sky; it looked similar to the after-effects of a sonic rainboom. Except this one was a dark purple, and it was still going strong as it traveled across the sky.

The wave of energy passed over Ponyvillie, and she felt a tingling sensation throughout her body. A feeling of hunger washed over her, a desire she had to suppress for so many moons. Out of instinct, the Dj's fangs popped out of her mouth.
"No. Bucking. Way!" DJ slammed her window shut and had to make a conscious effort to retract her fangs; she couldn't afford to be discovered now, not yet.

Vinyle lit her horn and levitated a suitcase over to her bed." He's here, the one who'll bring the great change." The unicorn started packing all the essentials she'd need for this journey. Once she had everything packed, she practically flew out of her room, down the stairs, past her very confused roommate. "Hey Tavi!, bye Tavi! I'll be back in a month or so! Myhalfoftherentisunderthebed!" With that, the unicorn was out the door, leaving Octavia bewildered.

As the unicorn galloped down the streets past panicking ponies, she couldn't help to think to herself. "No longer will I have to hide my true nature from the world! I need to find him!" The vampony couldn't be happier; a chance for a better and brighter future was here.

Other ponies like her would make such a journey as well.

Meanwhile over Ponyville

The spirit of chaos and disharmony, Discord was shocked by this recent turn of events. This was wrong, very wrong. He pulled a script out of nowhere and started reading it. "What the buck is going on? Twilight was supposed to become an alicorn, not a horrorcorn!" The Draconequus threw away the script in a fit of anger; something or somepony was stepping on his territory and causing chaos. He wasn't going to have any of it! "Nopony messes with my plaything! Whoever you are, you're going to pay!" Discord snapped a talon and popped out of existence.

This would be the last time anyone would see Discord for a long time.

Ponehenge

Ponehenge, an ancient rock formation keeping the pillars of equestrian and the Pony of shadows imprisoned, would stay like this for the next few years. But fate has been altered.

Then it happened, the flash of light, explosion, and wave of dark energy cutting through the sky. The old pillars shook and cracked as time passed until the posts broke down into a pile of dust.

In a flash, six ponies appeared from thin air above the piles of ash, and one of each had a sizable rock above them. All of them came crashing down, with three of the six ponies getting hit by their rocks. Those hit by the stones screamed or yelped in pain.

The one male unicorn lifted his head and looked around with blurry vision. "What, what has happened?" he said with a weak voice.

Meanwhile, in the middle of what used to be Ponhenge, a dark cloud appeared before, liquifying and taking the form of a pony made of pure darkness with a horn and wings. It started laughing, "Hahaahahah, your pitiful attempt to imprison me has failed, Starswirl! No-"The Pony of shadows stopped its monologuing after taking in its surroundings. Everything was so big, wait…. He was tiny!!
"
What the buck!" The Pony of shadows yelled out, but no one heard it because the voice was tiny as the Pony came from. "Starswirl, what have you done to me!?"

The old unicorn didn't pay attention to it; none of the Pillars did. Half of them were injured, while the other half were dazed. "I'll have my revenge and cover this world in darkness!" It tried teleporting away but didn't have the strength for it.

"Buck it!" The Pony of Shadows just flew away, similar to a gnat. No pony noticed it leaving.

Our Town

Starlight Glimmer admired her current collection of cutie marks. "Soon, everypony in Equestria will be equal, and nopony will lose a friend over what destiny tells them to be." She placed a hoof on the glass and rubbed it slowly. "Oh, Sunburst, how I miss you."

Then it happened, she didn't see the flash of light, but she heard the explosion. Her head wipped around towards the cave entrance. "What the buck was that?!" She galloped to the cave entrance, only to be sent flying back after being hit with a wave of energy. The dark energy wave passed harmlessly through her, but it was strong enough to push her around.

The unicorn got back up on shaky hooves and looked around the cave until her eyes fell on her collection, and her eyes went wide. The case that held the cutie marks started to shake violently while the glass covering it began to crack. The strangest part was the eye that appeared in the middle of each one. "NONONONO!" Starlight ran over to prevent whatever was going to happen, but it was too late, as the glass broke and the cutie marks started flying out of the case and out of the cave.

"NO! BUCKING BUCK!" All her hard work was wasted! "Wait, stay calm! I can convince them that this was a test. Yes, that'll work. No-" Her thoughts were cut off when she heard screaming from outside of the cave. The unicorn slowly approached the cave entrance and watched as the small village she built up burned down to the ground.

"Oh, sweet Celestia."

Somewhere on a snowy mountain stood a lone Ram. His coat was a dark cornflower blue, while his curved horns were dark azure. He had no mane whatsoever, but he had a silver-colored goatee on his chin: his eyebrows and sideburns were the same color. His razor-sharp teeth protruded from his muzzle, and he had a heavy underbite, unlike a regular ram. The creature's eyes were pure red and glowed, not a pupil insight. The only thing the old sheep wore was a red sash around his upper body and neck. The strap had golden adornments all around it, but something was off, the middle had a hook but nothing to place on it.

A wicked grin spread across the Ram's features. "Finally free from the realm of darkness!" The voice was deep and methodical, with a hint of cruelty behind it. "Oh, what to do? So many options, maybe find my worthless creation discord, build an army, or start planning my revenge on those accursed ponies?" He unconsciously touched the area where his bell would be. "Ah, I think I'll retrieve my bell." The old Ram let out a low chuckle.

"I wonder how much Equestria has changed in my absence?"

Upper Canterlot

The Dazzlings walked down the streets of Canterlot. Leaving the castle grounds was relatively easy; the guards were rather reasonable after hearing their tune. Sonata was the first to speak and express her excitement. "It feels so good to have hooves again! I miss my lower half, though," she said, a little saddened at the last part.

For once, Aria could agree with Sonata. "Well, we can turn back to our true forms later, don't want anypony finding us out now."

"So, what do we do now?" Sonata asked with a tilt of her head.

"Yes, what do we do now?" Aria brought her attention to Adagio, the leader of their group.

"It's simple," The disguised siren said. "We lay low for now and watch things unfold for now. Like that Glave fellow said, things are about to get interesting. "Adagio could almost taste the strife and chaos that will be upon this world soon. Making that deal with that strange man was the best decision the sirens have ever made. They were given a chance to escape that accursed human world, or 'A mockery of real humans' in Glave's case. Next, the sirens were given the ability to change their form at-will, from Pony to siren and back again. The only thing the three had to do was break mirrors, and they were free to go.

"Also, let us find that creature Glave told us about." Adagio tapped a hoof under her chin, thinking. "I believed his name was Raven? Let's see what a 'real' human is like."

"Can we get tacos along the way?!" Sonata asked with drool dripping down her chin.

The other two just groaned.

Somewhere between Foal Mountains and Ponehenge

The Outcasts have blinked back into existence after everything went off. The foals loosened their grips on the human and lept off of him.

Meanwhile, Oleander just slid off of the human's back in exhaustion. The unicorn started rubbing her horn between her hooves. The top half of her horn was chard and smoking. "Oooowwww! my bloody horn hurts!" she spat out and glared at the two culprits.

Raven stood there breathing heavily as he tried to catch his breath. His whole body was screaming at him for pushing himself like that. The man just wanted to collapse and just lay there, but he couldn't; he was holding a crying foal in his arm.
The man slowly worked his arm back and forth to calm the crying filly. "Ssshh, it's going to be..ok.ay" His voice was nothing but a whisper and shallow.

The human turned his head and glared at Amber and Cozy. "Anything...you li..ke to say?"

Amber was first to speak up and say. "we uh, I mean, I uh-" she stopped her ramblings as a small flash of light appeared under her cloak, and she felt a tingling sensation. She lifted her coat, and she couldn't believe it. Upon her flank was a heart-shaped explosion.

"I GOT MY CUTIE MARK!" The filly yelled at the top of her lungs. The filly started dancing around and saying, 'I got my cutie mark' over and over.

"What the fuck is a cutie a mark?" Raven thought.

Author's Note

Alright, everyone, done with the honeymoon phase of the story. I'll update the story 2 to 3 times a week; 3 if I have time. Also, I really want to know how you guys currently feel about the story: the good, the bad, and the ugly.
