Sneezing Issues

A mighty sneeze erupted in Ponyville while a certain purple dragon with green scales was out for a flight. Spike had hit a growth spurt and according to Princess Ember, he was now an adult.

Another wild sneeze pulled him out of his thoughts about going to see Rarity. "What the heck?"

Carousel Boutique rooftop just did a flip and landed back in place.

"Well, that's something that you don't see every day," Spike said landing just below the path. He felt that it would be safer to go in through the front door than fly in through a window.

Walking up the path he knocked on the door.

"Just...a minute."

Spike heard Rarity's voice, yet it sounded off. Opening the door, she had to glance slightly up to meet Spike's gaze. "Spike?"

"Hi, I saw your place flip its lid. I wanted to make sure that you were okay." He could see that she wasn't. Her nose was red, and her eyes looked watery.

"Spike-"

"I need to get you to bed."

"Tell me you're not going to pick me up." She let out a little squeak when he scooped her up like she was nothing but a feather. When did he get so strong...strong- Her thoughts were interrupted by a sneeze. Luckily this one wasn't as strong. "Spike, darling, I can walk."

"Not this time, my lady."

"How are you going to get me up those stairs?"

Spike opened his wings.

Rarity's eyes widened “You’re not serious, are you?"

"The sooner I get you to bed the sooner you'll feel better."

"Spike darling, I am not sic-" Her voice was cut off when he lifted up off the ground taking Rarity with him.

She found herself clinging to his neck. Opening her eyes, she took in the view of her main room from above. This is...amazing. She thought and felt an itch in her nose. "Spike...Spi-"

Spike felt her about to sneeze. He turned them in midair just as Rarity let out a sneeze. He used his wings to counter the force of her sneeze.

"Quick thinking, darling." Rarity said sniffing a bit.

Spike turned around and made it to her room. Landing on the floor he walked over to the bed. Stretching out his arm he gently placed her on the bed. Keeping one arm under her neck he used his other claw to fluff up her pillow. He let her head rest on the pillow. "Better?"

Rarity couldn't help but blush at the endearing kindness of this dragon.

He put a claw on her forehead and remembered that that wouldn't work. He leaned in a pressed his lips on her forehead.

"Spike...what are-" A warm feeling swept through her body at the touch of his lips. It was just a way to check for a temperature. She reminded herself.

"I can't tell if you have a fever." It was then that a scent met his nose, he'd smelled it when he was close to her mane. Pollen... I'm not sic- Rarity's voice echoed in his mind. Now I get it. You're allergic to pollen.

"Well, Rarity I am afraid that you are sick." His grin faded the second her gaze met his.

"Spike-'

He placed a claw on her lips. "Don't fret my lady. For I have a cure."

Rarity kept her lips still at his touch. "And what is that pray tell?" She asked after he lifted his claw from her lips and couldn't help but blush a little.

He leaned over and scooped her up like he had before and turned towards the open window in her bedroom.

"Spike. What are you doing?" Her gaze lifted up to meet a smile from him.

He didn't say anything, just ran towards the open window and leaped out. Spreading his wings, a gust of wind carried them up into the sky.

Rarity clung to his neck like before. Opening her eyes, she found herself looking down over Ponyville. She could feel her mane flowing out behind her.

"Feeling better?" He asked glancing down at her.

"Um...yes." She glanced up at him. "Spike I wasn't-"

"Sick?"

"You knew?"

"Well not at first. It wasn't until I got a sniff of the pollen in your mane. It's one of three reasons I took you on a flight."

"What were the other two reasons?"

"Well, I wanted to ask why you didn't resist when I picked you up both times. I know how strong your magic is."

"I've..." She mumbled out the rest.

"What was that?"

"I've wanted you to do that. I just couldn't find a way to ask you."

Spike's eyes widened. "Wait, you brought those flowers into your shop?"

Her mouth dropped open. "I would never..."

Her voice trailed off when her gaze met his emerald eyes heat rose up in her cheeks. She finally just nodded.

"Well, I've wanted to hold you like this forever. My second reason was to take you on a flight...romantic flight." Spike felt his cheeks redden.

Rarity's mouth opened up at what Spike said she noticed that he was running his tongue along his lips. Would he actually? Imagines flashed in her mind of him leaning down to her. "Well, you were so sweet to me earlier. I was rather enjoying it Spikey." Rarity leaned up to kiss him on the cheek when he turned his head at just the right moment. Their lips meet instead, and their eyes get huge. Rarity slowly closed her eyes and didn't pull away.

Spike closed his eyes and reached his claw up to cup the back of her head.

Being so high up he didn't have to worry about any trees in front of him. When he finally broke the kiss, he felt his head spinning.

"Was that the third reason?" Rarity said taking in several breaths. She'd fantasized about kissing him before but couldn't bring herself to do it. She could feel the desire behind the kiss.

He could still feel his lips tingling. That was a deeper kiss than he had been expecting.

Rarity smiled at him "Spikey, I must confess. If this day went perfectly as I thought, it would go. I wasn't going to be able to let you go."

"So, was it perfect?"

"You're not going to object to being stuck with me, are you?" She batted her eyelashes at him.

Spike smiled. "I wouldn't have it any other way."

Rarity leaned up as Spike leaned down for another kiss.
