A mid-size settlement on the outskirts of Hoofton, called Wheatfield Acres, is home to an off-site Ironshod R&D building, where the actual factory is about a ten minute walk away. It is one of the many few still in production. In it, the settlement is consistent of not only gun totting enthusiasts, but one of the Empire's top medical training stations. Goldenlee, an infamous surgeon who has saved many ponies lives from the brink of death, visits Ironshod to support her childhood friend, the head of Ironshod's Empire branch Dusty Trail, from being shut down and turned over to a competitor. With her friend and lover, Shining Star, accompanying her on his visit to the settlement, something drastic happens. Before the papers of transferal are signed, the ambassador to Mr. House is assassinated. With tensions being high, evidence has been found to accuse Goldenlee of the assassination. However, Goldenlee knows for a fact she didn't do it.

Now, it's a race against time, as Mr. House himself, gives Goldenlee and Shining Star an entire day to come up with evidence to prove Goldenlee's innocence. Will her and Shining Star be able to make it in time? One thing is for certain, the mysterious Ghost of the Wasteland has been sighted during this time and only means to observe the duo’s plight.
