Chapter 1: Worker Bee #1 Joey Jones
"BEEP BEEP!" There goes my alarm clock.
8:30 AM, a Monday morning and I already hear Zack Surfer in his apartment to the left playing his guitar like a madman. This is how my morning starts before a work day; Get out of bed and slam my alarm off, take a 5 minute shower, grab a bagel with cream cheese, and then literally run to work (It's just a few blocks away in the city). Though, before work I get a coffee at the shop next to my office, Billy's Beans. Billy is and big fat guy who has a awesome handlebar mustache and one of the people who really really enjoys their job. I see the regulars and they say "Hey Joey Jones! Morin' Joey Jones!" I wave back as usual and get a small coffee 3 cream 3 sugar while Billy tells me about his tomboy daughters. Its a routine.
Though, most of my other friends like to live boring lives day by day at the office, and of course I understand. its easy to just lose yourself in your work and ignore some the insanity of the world. I'm no different too, working in an average 9-5 office job as well. My boss, Jess a tall, long hair, very official lady, loves that I do all things she tells me to. Of course right when I get into the office she greets me with a
"Hey Joey Jones! How are you this morning?"
"Oh! I'm doi-" Before I can finish I'm cut off.
Jess then spins around and death stares a poorly dressed messy hair employee staring at the water cooler.
"HEY MIKE STOP STANDING THERE AND GET BACK TO WORK!" Jess screams.
"y-yes sorry boss" says Mike weakly. (poor fellow...)
"um.." I begin.
"Joey... would you be a dear and type up a report on blah blah blah?" she says and of course I can't say no.
I get straight to work on whatever she wanted me to do. Before sitting down I adjust my Fluttershy figure at my desk. Yes I'm a Brony (Big deal) and luckily my work place doesn't care that I'm a Brony. Jess only allows me to bring in some MLP trinkets to put on my desk if it improves my productivity (Which it does! I think.) If anything I am not the weirdest person here, that would be Jack (he really likes those old vintage creepy dolls that stare into your soul.) Anyhow, I must get to typing about whatever Jess just said...
9:30 pm, sigh, Jess kept me late today. We get a shipment of supplies every month and Mandy is usually the one who helps Jess with the boxes of paper and new stuff but she took the week off to go to Hawaii. Jess is very picky about where stuff is put and how everything is organized in the office, and when she asks for my help I always say yes. (Honestly Mandy how are you and Jess such good friends?)
I finish with what she told me to do and says I can leave while she finishes up the rest. She thanks me for my help, its no problem but I know I'm cursed to helping her forever. I take the back door out of the office since she lost the keys for the front while organizing the supplies. we say our goodbyes and my tired legs crawl me to the door. Honestly I do not want to walk in the dark and in a back ally behind the office, but I, Joey Jones can't ask for the keys because I'm a doormat... sigh.
Flopping outside I quickly look around for the occasional murderer or robber, instead I see another shipment box that wasn't taken inside the office. My curse compels to lift it up and take it in. Its surprising light? Huh, all the other boxes were heavy except this one. I shrug. I pull on the back door handle, aaaannd its locked from the outside. My curse is lifted! (I guess?) Well I can't help Jess with this last shipment. Putting down the box I think of what to do with it. Also I think about how light it was. I scan the box. No tags on it, no tape on the top keeping it fully closed. Maybe its trash actually. I chuckle, imagine what Jess would think about me giving her trash.
Smiling I kick the box lightly with my shoe. The box slides forward. Then wiggles and fidgets. Oh damn! Did I kick an animal? Shoot. I approach the box worried. I guess it makes sense that some small animal would make a box their home. Opening the box a little I see some dyed fur. What? I finally fully open the box to the biggest surprise to my life...
Laying on her side she breaths lightly. Her blue coat looks dirty with water and mud. A light twitch comes from her ear flicking her rainbow colored hair down covering her resting eyes. Its-Its R-Rainbow dash as a FILLY?! DUDE, MY LITTLE PONY IS REAL? I look down with a wide eyed expression. I am dumbfounded, absolutely astounded. Reality feels like it has smashed into pieces. I pinch my self, I am the most awake I have ever been. I shake my head violently and think. Questions flood me; how did she get here? Why is she like 7-8 years old? Why is she so dirty? She needs a shower, bad.
The filly slowly opens her eyes and turns her head slowly seeing a tall man in a suit making weird confused faces. She jolts back into the box. Seeing this I jolt backwards in equal surprise. she's awake!
"Hello there!"
"..."
"yo habla Espanol?"
"..."
God what am I doing! I don't know Spanish! I look down at her face, ruby eyes looking straight back at me with slight fear. The moon light reflects off of them like pearls. wow. I crouch down in disbelief looking straight at the filly. Taken out of my trance I see that she is shivering. I take off my outer coat of my suit and hold it In front of Rainbow Dash. She goes further into the box with the same face of confusion growing.
"I'm not bad. I swear!"
I push the coat closer with a smile on my face. she loosens up a little looking the coat. I hold my other hand out similar to trying to befriend a puppy. she relaxes her body more.
Slowly she moves her hoof up and puts it in my hand. I reach down and fully grab her. She's still wet with mud but the feeling of her fur is crazy. She squirms as I put the coat around her. She quickly feels the warmth from my coat and my body. She starts to struggle less and adjusts herself in the coat then relaxes. Today has changed from a regular Monday to something truly special.
Finally, we start to walk out of the dark ally into the side walk of the city. Not too many people out to see her but honestly what would they do if they did? I begin the tract home with the filly in my coat.
We arrive at my apartment building and walk inside. Luckily no one saw me and Rainbow but I'm not sure how long I will be able to keep her a secret. Though, I am beat from today's work as well as being overwhelmed from seeing a filly Rainbow Dash. Filly Rainbow Dash... I look down at her in my arms, its so unreal! Again I shake my head and begin to go up the stairs to the second floor.
Fumbling with the keys while attempting to hold Rainbow Dash and open the door I get to my room. with a little struggle I finally get inside and close the door. Putting the filly on the ground she wobbles trying to keep balance. I grin. I begin the grand tour of my small apartment while she follows behind me curiously. "This is my living room" I gesture towards a small couch and TV. Its small like everything else but she takes an instant interest in the couch. She walks up to it attempting to jump up on top but fails. She tries again this time buzzing her little wings like a bee. I lift her up and put her on a pillow and sit next to her. She adjusts and then lays down looking at me.
More questions fill my head again. "What are you doing in my world?" I accidental slip out. Of course she looks at me quizzically. I look down at her with an expression of confusion as well, she moves off of her plush pillow and rubs into me. She looks up at me, I smile and she seems content. "Just like a lonely puppy"
we both close our eyes finally resting. I wonder what will happen next...

Chapter 2: Rainbow the Curious
I wake up slowly forcing my eyes open to see a bright beam of light blinding me.
"What a weird dream..." I squint. "Heh imagine if Rainbow Dash was reALLLLLAAAAL?!"
I stare down wide eyed at the colorful maned filly snoring on my lap, looking very content with my body heat. It was real. All real. Smiling wide I remember finding her in that dumb box I thought was a shipment of supplies behind my office. My Office! I pull out my phone to check the time. 11:30. 11:30? ELEVEN THIRTY?! I'm never late for work! Never! I look at the peaceful pony. Man, I can't leave her alone! What if she gets lonely, hungry or really anything bad happens to her! The worst part is what if I don't go into work?
No. I have to stay home today. I gotta figure this situation all out. I sigh and slightly nudge the filly.
"Heyyy wakey wakey." I whisper in a nervous tone.
She slowly stands up on my lap, yawns, stretches' her little wings and looks up at me with a bright smile. AGAH- my heart it can barely take this! "Good morning! Heh, wow I didn't notice how dirty you were!" she sits looking at me with little spots of dirt covering her mane.
"Welp, I guess its bath time then!" I pick her up bringing her eye level. "Ready?" I ask.
She nods.
I guess she understands English but seems to not know how to talk yet. She defiantly is curious about this world though. Placing her in the tub I pull out a bar of soap. I show her the big letters that are engraved along the bar.
She nods, again and I'm not sure exactly what I'm trying to do but introducing her to my stuff might make her more comfortable in my home.
Twisting the faucet, Dash flinches at the water that comes out.
"No no no! Its warm! I promise!" I put my hand in the water swishing it about.
She looks at me then back at the water. timidly she put her hoof in and swishes it around. Looking back at me she makes a big dumb smile. I smile back.
The water now only keeps her head above the water.
"Alright Rainbow Dash, can I start washing?" I ask and of course she nods in agreement.
She's very different to the Rainbow from the show, If I can recall she hated other ponies touching her hooves or anything to do with washing. Though, I guess this one is only a filly and not the adult one. She seems to like it when I scrubbed her coat and cleaned behind her ears. She looks at me smiling the whole time.
Drying her was not bad either, except when right after I pulled her out she shook all of the water back on to me. I was not amused. Now I guess I'll call Jess that I'm not coming in to work. This isn't like me, not going into work that is. She'll be worried I bet, sigh okay here goes nothing! I pull out my phone and Dash looks up at me.
Brring, brring- click!
" Joey Jones! Where the HELL are you?!"
Me: "Well uh-"
"Was it because of me asking you to help with the supplies?"
"huh?"
J"I just thought - sniff - that I could ask and you wouldn't say no! B-because you always do what I say!"
What is going on? Is she crying!?
"Woah woah Jess! I'm not mad! Its fine really!"
Ahh! I feel bad but I need a good lie to get out of this.
"I'm just under the weather today I think I'll be able to come in tomorrow!"
"Did I overwork you making you sick?! Oh dammit! The karma!"
At least she's honest?
"Please take as much time as you need to rest! You've worked so hard here... you know you actually have 3 weeks of vacation days."
I- I have 3 weeks vacation?! Holyyy shoot.
"Um! Ah. yes COUGH COUGH I'm just sick! eheh! cya! Byeee!"

I look down at Rainbow with my mouth in an "O". My curse of being a doormat is finally being lifted, thanks to one little filly. I switch to a smile and pet the pony's colorful mane.
"Am I finally free?" I ask.
She turns her head confused. I shrug and I hear a small growl. Rainbow looks down bashfully. When I think about it when was the last time she ate? I have no idea but now's the time for a little late breakfast!
...
"What do horses eat?" I type into my phone. Rainbow looks at me across the island in the middle of my kitchen. My kitchen Has a little bar for some reason and Dash sits on one of those swively padded stools. She twists the chair impatiently.
"I know I know! You're hungry! Just give me a sec." I say.
Grass, hay, fruit, vegetables, salt? Salt really? It says horses like to lick big blocks of salt. huh. Well I don't have any of the other things since I am an unhealthy coffee and cereal driven demon so I grab a plate and pour all of the salt on it. This is risky but, I'll have to go to the local market and stock up on some horse food. I pass the plate to the filly.
"Welp, I'm going to go to the market to get some "Horse food" so just lick some salt while I'm gone and don't do anything bad!" Before I finish telling her what I'm doing she is already crosses her eyes looking down at the salt licking furiously. "Alright, uhh bye bye!"
I grab my keys and coat while Dash makes "Lem Lem" noises back at me.
Okay to the store I go...
Rainbows Perspective:
Guy left me with white cubes saying he's going to get "horse fooge". What is "horse fooge?". idk but these cubes are heaven. I like looking at them as close as possible when I lick. They are shiny like rocks but taste better. Rocks are ew. I sit on weird chair licking the cubes going "lem lem" when I lick. very fun.
The cubes ran out ): No more "lem lem" I sit on chair. Guy told me "don't do anything bad!" what's bad? Hmm. I hop off long chair and slam on floor with thud noise. Ow. Was that "bad"? it totally hurted so it probably was. I know what is not bad! Exploring! When I went exploring outside I found food in metal cans. Not yummy but I survived. This new place might have cans of food as well. I'm hunger.
I found can! It has flap on top but a plate below that opens it. I can open it when i'm on the plate but I can't reach even when I buzz my wings. Super frustrating! I'm hungry!!
"♪ SCREECH ♪"
AH! What was that?! It came from the wall. I look.
"♪ Scree rerererre screeechh! ♪"
It sounds like angry cat but like song? "
♪ Screerere ra tat ree nowww! ♪"
That is so AWESOME! Its like angry in nice sounding!
I run towards the sound. Its so cool! I want to know where its coming from. I put my ear to the wall. hmmm. I slide my head across the wall until I hit the door. I look up and see that metal stick thing. It opens doors rights? I jump up and grab the stick and pull it. the door opens! Woah, and the sound is even louder! I look and see a long room with more doors. The door to the left has lots of sounds coming from it!
"♪ scrrreeee wawawaw! ♪"
I run to the door, Its already a little open so I push the door fully open...
Joey's Perspective:
I lug the sack of veggies, fruit, and hay (They had hay at the store for some reason?) up the flight of stairs in a pant. Truly this has been a different kind of Tuesday for me. I should be at work doing Jess's biding, but no. Now I'm going to feed a cartoon character that is not from my world, and probably do her biding instead! No matter, I just need time to process my new life I guess.
Making it up to the hallway that leads to my residence I see that, oh no. The door Its-Its open. I drop my bags with a face a of pure shock.
"D-Dash?" I squeak out.
Running inside my apartment I turn my head from left to right in a panic. I see no filly and only hear THE GODDARN GUITAR FROM ZACK SURFERS ROOM!
"AHHGRRAAH!" I yell.
What if someone finds her and eats her! I mean, that wouldn't happen but what if she's taken for testing or lives under governmental watch forever! I don't want that! What do I want anyway? I just met her and she is probably better off without me. I'm just a doormat.
Looking down I sigh.
"Where is she?" I ask the floor.
Zack's music finally stops giving me some peace. Then the sound of two hooves clapping come from his room. I look over to the wall.
"No way." I whisper.
Bolting outside my room I see Zack's door slightly ajar. I swing it open in one grand entrance. Inside, Zack a messy haired grunge kid sits on his unkempt bed with a guitar in his hands. Right next to him is Rainbow clapping with a smile on her face, and my jaw drops.
"Heyy what's up man!" says Zack like there is not a fictional pony sitting right next to him. "this little dude yours?" he gestures towards Dash as she gives me a happy wave.
I am flabbergasted. Well, guess my secret's out. Not like I was going to be able to keep it for long.

Chapter 3: Just "Chillax"
Zack Surfer is the most chill person on this planet I've realized. I didn't know him to well before and we both just went on with our lives but now that Rainbow has met him things have changed.
"Zack." I say. "How are you not freaking out right now?!"
He looks at me with an expression of confusion and looks down at rainbow who is playing with a guitar string.
"I don't know man. Maybe you gotta just like chillax a little." he looks back at me with his eyes half closed. Chillax? I am the furthest from "Chillaxed"!
"Zack!" I say again. "You have to promise to not tell ANYONE about this! Imagine what will happen to Rainbow!"
"Rainbow? Daang that's a sick name! Where'd you get her?" He says ignoring what I just said.
"Wait wait wait. Have you not heard of the show My Little Pony?" I ask back.
"Uhhh nah man. I like music more than TV."
Hearing this I am in shock. I know not everybody is a MLP fan but most people would have heard about it at least! How "chillaxed" is this kid?
"Okay, let me explain what's going on..."
A few minutes later of explaining what the show was and how I found Dash in that box he looks down scratching his chin.
"Dude, magic is like real now." He says looking down at Rainbow. Is that seriously all he got from this? I mean he is right, but what about the fact that there are DIFFERNT UNIVERSES NOW?! Since he is not freaking out about a cartoon pony being in his room I think I'll dismiss that. Maybe I should just "chillax"...
"Bro, we should like show her to a scientist." Zack suggests. Maybe I should NOT CHILLAX!
"Zack! No way! What happens if they cut her up to see her magical insides or lock her in a room to do terrible experiments on her! forever!" I yell.
Rainbow looks over to Zack with a worried face. Zack begins to laugh.
"That would be gnarly man! But nah they wouldn't do that you have to put more faith into humanity, uhh... umm wait what's your name again?"
I sigh. "I'm Joey, Joey Jones and I know how people are. They just use you as a stepping stone for their own goals and then throw you back into the pond." I hang my head "they use us like doormats...".
Rainbow hops off the bed and puts her hoof on my leg. she smiles up at me. I don't want her to be alone but I don't want her to be used for bad things either. What can I choose?
"I've made up my mind." says Zack "In the end she'll totally will be better off experiencing the world and maybe making some friends, I know what it like to be lonely and dude, it totally sucks." I look up to him and nod.
"We need to be careful about who knows about Dash right now but I'll- no, we'll need to figure out a way to be sure she isn't taken away and she's safe." I explain "I do want to know why she's here."
"For someone you just met, you're totally loyal to the little dude." says Zack
"well she is just a kid! I mean filly. But she out of anyone doesn't deserve to be mistreated. Though you're right she can't just be locked up with just me forever" I chuckle somewhat defeated.
"Yeah dude that would mean you'd be just like those scientisty guys you talked about." Zack responds. He's right. Keeping her locked up forever with me is the same as what I fear. Crouching down I gently pick up the young Rainbow Dash.
"Well, I need to feed Rainbow her lunch but I hope we can figure out what to do."
"Dude! this is just beginning of an amazing adventure man! See ya soon little dude!" Zack waves at Dash and she waves back. I smile.
"Cya Zack I think you were the best person to run into about Rainbow Dash's situation." He smiles and nods. I leave and close the door. Another growl comes from Rainbow again. Guess It's time for a very healthy pony friendly lunch.
After a bit of work polishing up my rusty cooking skills and creating a half deceit meal. I feed Rainbow some steamed carrots with salt and pepper I got from the market. I have some myself of course. I don't have a table to eat but the kitchen bar-island is good enough. She seems to enjoy my cooking stuffing her face into the plate while I use a knife and fork respectively. She pulls away from the plate with carrot mush covering her face. I chuckle and wipe her face to her displeasure.
I think Rainbow now knows she's not from my world due to the discussion with Zack Surfer. I can tell she is happy Zack and I came to an understanding but looking at her now she has a sad expression. I feel bad even if its just the truth of the situation. After the meal Rainbow went over to the couch. She must be so confused in this world. I sit down next her and turn on the TV. Hmmm I know kids like cartoons so why wouldn't she? I switch to some action cartoons, my favorite. I always liked to pretend that I were those characters that could over come their problems with their own strength. Of course Dash is intrigued immediately and begins to watch the action scenes with intense passion. She's back to normal and not gloomy, for now at least. I join in and watch while she looks over at me with a dumb funny grin. I feel a strong connection with her already. I hope she feels the same.
After an hour of watching some shows I tell her it's time for a break. But this gives me an idea. I go into my room and pull out some blank paper from a printer I use for work sometimes. Rainbow looks at me puzzled. If she is like the pony's from MLP then she will be able to write with her mouth as well. I grab my desk and put it in front of the couch and place the paper and pencils on it. I give her a pencil.
"Okay Rainbow! I'm going to teach you about writing!" Enthusiastically I put a pencil in my mouth and write (very poorly) a simple "hello". (honestly I did better than I expected)
She looks at me and gives a little "mmhm" and grabs a pencil with her mouth writing on a piece of paper as well. I look happily at the scribbles on the paper. It's a start of course but progress can be made.
30 minutes later. She's begun to get frustrated. I think its a good time to stop but I may not be the best for teaching. The only person who is good at teaching is Jess (she was a high school teacher before becoming my boss). Even if she likes to use me for her "evil doing" she's taught me so much when I started working at her office. Even if RD wasn't a pony I think I would be too scared to ask her to be a tutor for her. I don't want Dash to be uneducated!
Wow I really am thinking about having her live here seriously. I mean at anytime she could just magically poof from here and go back to Ponyville. Better yet Princess Twilight and her friends would come and take her away. You know what? What about Equestria Girls? Are there two human worlds now? Gosh didn't MLP:FIM end some years ago? Things don't really add up. I guess it makes sense for the Multiverse not to make sense.
I snap out of it and see that Dash was looking at my face with a tired expression. I guess all of these new experiences would make anyone tired. I lay down on the couch she lays next to me and snuggles up. A nap wouldn't be so bad right now, work really has gave me no down time to rest.
"Have a nice nap, Dashie." I say Dash's little nickname that Pinkie gave her before going drifting off. This is gonna be an amazing adventure isn't it?

Chapter 4: Not Big Enough!
It's been two weeks since Zack met Dashie and I've been using those vacation days that Jess kept secret from me. Does that make me angry that she kept them from me for who knows how long? I don't know but I guess I do have this weird feeling I can't really describe. Whatever, it's not important right now... I think. Anyway Zack and I have also been attempting to teach Rainbow how to write but Zack was too "chill" to push it and said he wants to keep that "Chillaxed" feeling in Dashie. He is as odd as before he met her. Dash has been talking a little bit more as well! It was a surprise that she figured out just a few words but she seems to already have a decent understanding of English whenever I speak with her.
Right now I sit with Dashie watching TV. It seems to be something she likes to do most of the time. I even decided to show some shows that aren't just cartoons and she seems to like those as well! Though it must be weird to see so many humans but no ponies on almost every channel and dear Celestia hopefully she doesn't see a real pony, that would be confusing I bet. I've refrained from showing her much of MLP. She knows about it and I've caught her watching some. She wasn't bothered by it but I'd rather keep it away for a bit. Maybe we could watch some together some other time.
I have an other extra week of vacation time but I have this weird feeling. It's almost like I NEED to work. Honestly these past weeks have been some of the most fun I've had with RD and Zack! I've felt better than I have in a long while. But my god this feeling is drowning me. I feel so... useless. I need to call Jess and make a plan fast. Maybe I can work from home for awhile until, well Dash enviably goes back to her world. But I have no idea when or if that will happen. I guess my job is almost all computer programing so it wouldn't be hard to just work at home. So I think I should call her! Right now!
I'll just call her...
I'm frozen.
I should CALL her!
...
Nothing happens... haha... Why won't my body move? C'mon! Why Joey? Is taking action just to talk to your boss so hard? Why are you scared!? Just get off the couch and y'know... C-call her.
...
C'MON MOVE! JUST CALL HER WHATS THE BIG DEAL? Do you want to be her doormat forever? just move! MOVE!
...
This fear its familiar. This is what kept me at my job for so long. Kept me from not being successful with my skills that I enjoy. When did this begin? How many years have I been stuck in my head? I look over to Rainbow Dash. She smiling at the TV while the colors light up her face, just enjoying some down time mindlessly. Was I ever like that? It's that feeling that always comes driving me back down that got in the way of just having fun. But right now I can't stay down. Everything has changed and I need to change. I need to do just one simple thing. One simple call.
Bracing myself I push up from the couch.
"Okay Dashie, I'm gonna take a-"
I stop with the words caught in my throat. AGRRH C'MON JUST SAY IT!!
"...a phone call."
Dashie doesn't even notice and nods her head at the TV. Though I was mostly saying that to myself I don't think she knows what a "phone call" is yet. But hey! this filly, she might not know it but she is changing me. I think the longer she stays the better I'll become. I want to be better. I hope she stays just a little longer.
I pull out my phone and walk to my office room. Time to make a call.
Dashie's Perspective:
It seems like Mr. Joey left the room. Something about phones n' stuff? Not sure what that is but now's my chance! Every time he catches me watching the pony show he always changes the channel! I know what it is and I think he knows I know He knows but I wanna know more! He and music guy Zack have been teaching me mouth pencil but I want to learn about the pony stuff called "magic"! All I need to do is change the channel!
I grab the fork I had hidden between the couch and hold it in-between my hooves. Using the little baby sharp parts I poke at the remotes buttons. One of the buttons switches to different shows and I remember where it is! I click and it changes but not to pony show. Just gotta keep clicking.
A-ha! Radical! Or something I don't know, Zack says "Radical" so it must mean something cool! The TV show's a world of color more bright than anything. I see a purple pony with a horn, a white one with dark purple hair, a light yellow one with wings that looks very shy, a pink one with curly hair, a orange one with a hat, then a rainbow one... Me. But not me because Joey says it's different. I'm my own pony. In a world of humans.
I turn off the TV bowing my head. Everything's so confusing right now. I know who I am on TV but not who I am now. Should I be the TV me? Or should I not worry about it and be the me now? I hop off the couch and go towards the window next to the TV in the small living room. I can't see out of it fully because I'm so small but when I look up at it I can see big and huge clouds. So big and huge. I'm not even close to big and huge. I'm small. But I think I can be just as big as the clouds!
You know what! I wanna go outside! Last time I left this room I met Zack and he is really cool and If I was never was outside Joey wouldn't have found me and I'd be in a box forever! I know I'm not normal here and I think Joey is scared of me getting hurt outside. But the TV isn't big enough for me! Time to go explore!
Joey's distracted with the phone thing so this is a perfect chance! I sneakily walk to the kitchen. I see the door next to the kitchen that leads to the big long room. I jump and tug on the metal door opener thingy. It doesn't budge! Hmmm must be locked I know Joey uses uhhh yellow key to lock it. He has to have it somewhere around here! I let go of the handle an plop onto the floor. I need to find it. A-ah! the little hangers by the door! A key! The kitchen counter blocks my way of reaching it and its higher than the door handle thing. I'm gonna have to get on top the counter!
After a few attempts I get on top of the counter using the spinney chair. The keys are right in front of my face! I grab them with my hooves and they fall onto the counter. Well I don't have hands but I do have a mouth! I bite the key and start to carefully stick my head out towards the door handle. Crossing my eyes I look straight at the keyhole. Click! I spit the key out and slowly open the door. Time for my own little adventure!
Joey's Perspective
The call went way better than expected! Thought there might have been a misunderstanding Jess seemed to think she knew why I wanted to work at home. Of course she doesn't know Dashie so she might have jumped the gun with something else. I'm feeling a lot better about this! This just might be a step in the right direction with my life! Maybe I could even do some more advanced work. I've always known I was overqualified for my job but now I might be able to use my skills outside of my job with some on the side work. I think I'm thinking ahead again! I'll just watch some TV with Dashie and take my mind off it. Just "chillax".
I open the the of my office and turn my head over to the TV room. The back of the couch faces me. I walk towards it and see the TV turned off. Did she get tired and decide to nap? I stand behind the couch and look down. Dashie's not there? Maybe she went to the bathroom?? I begin to walk past the kitchen to the bathroom and look at my front door. It's slightly ajar... Oh come on! I told her to tell me when she wanted to go see Zack! I push the door open and walk next door over to Zack's.
I knock on Zack's door.
"Hey Zack open up! I want to talk to Rainbow!" I say slightly annoyed
I hear Zack's get out of bed, then footsteps towards the door, door unlocking noises, then the door opens.
"Uhhh dude, I ain't got RD." Zack says with a tired face like he just woke up from a nap.
"W-what but my she opened my door!" I stammer
Zack and I stare at each other for a very long 3 seconds. Then I begin to panic.
I run down the hallway towards the stairs that lead to the first floor. Zack yells for me to calm down across the hall but he sounds just as panicked as I feel. y'know of course I want Dashie to have freedom but I don't want people to freak out over her! I see a single light blue feather at the top step of the stairs to the main floor. She really is trying to go outside! Without looking at the steps keeping my focus on the feather and I slip. Oh man, this is going to hurt. I slam my butt into the steps I begin to tumble down. I reach my arms out attempting to regain my balance. It doesn't work. I am now falling down the stairs because I panicked. (Not out of character I guess) Smash! Boom! Bam! Then finally a large slam! I land face first onto the carpet all the way downstairs.
Struggling I pull my self to one knee and look around the first floor. I can see the door that leads outside straight ahead. If she's not right in front of me she probably left through it already. I sigh.
"Damnit." I slam my head back onto the ground. everything hurts.
I look over next to me on the ground and see a shadow casting over me. Dashie? I look up and see... oh boy. My landlord, Smithy who looks down at me sternly.
"How's my floor kid? I don't image your down here to see me and pay your rent since you already did" He says in a deep rugged voice.
Smithy is an older man who wears janitor overalls. He has a gray 4 o' clock shadow and wears a plain navy blue hat as well. Good ol' Smithy who has lived for a million years and is probably older than Celestia and Luna. Maybe even older than Grogar.
"H-hey Smithy! Sorry about that I'm just uhh..." Man, I am not a good liar and if I say something weird he'll think I'm on drugs or maybe killed someone!
"What are you sorry about kid?" Smithy asks before I can even think of a lie.
"Oh sorry about.." I look down thinking of a good lie and see blood came out of my nose and stained the carpet.
"Getting your carpet dirty... oh man I'm really sorry."
Smithy looks down at the blood. "Ah it alright kid. Are you okay though?"
Even with that rough exterior and making me feel extra nervous about rent Smithy in the end is a good guy.
"yeah I'm fine!" I lie then begin to get up but feel a nasty sharp pain come from my left arm.
"Ow.."
"Hey take your time! There's no rush." Smithy says a little worried "What's got you all worked up anyway? You're not usually this antsy kid."
"Don't worry I'm just late for this thing." I lie again while slowly getting up.
"Your lying kid. Been around long enough to know the sound of a liar." Smithy caught me. "What's wrong Jones?"
I know I can't keep up a good façade especially with Smithy but I can't tell him about Dashie, not right now at least.
"Look Smithy, I need to do something and I swear its nothing "bad" but I really need to go. like now" I tell him sternly giving him an more angry look than I meant.
Smithy looks at me dumbfounded. "Ah-! Hmm" He scratches his chin "You're an honest guy Joey so I can let you off the hook this time for all acting weird and stuff. But if this is anything illegal you know I can't keep someone like that as a tenant."
"I promise its nothing bad." I look up at Smithy with a sincere look. He smiles. I wonder if keeping a pony from a different world is Illegal though...
I turn around and walk out the apartment complex. Pushing open the door a bright light attacks me then gives way to a bustling city. Tons of people line the side walk chattering about whatever is so special to them and half of them on their phones talking to important people I guess. I look up at the shiny sky scrapers and see huge fluffy white clouds gliding about. In a city this big how will I find Dashie? I guess I better start looking. But where would a little pony go in this city?

Sorry this one took so long to get out! I was procrastinating and school exists as well. I'll keep working on this story though!
