There was one pony...

Once upon a time Twilight Sparkle decided to take a break from studying and go to Sugarcube Corner. She hoped to meet with her friends there. What better way to make use of break time than visiting friends, to talk and laugh with them? But Twilight was not excited, she was worried.

Twilight was worried because she has not sent any letters to Princess Celestia lately. She did not have anything new to report about friendship! The unicorn started to fear her teacher will take her as a lazybones who is not taking care of her friendships. She worried about this for a long time. Fortunately, Spike was always there to remind her how worrying ended last time, how every pony in Ponyville fell in love with her doll, Smartypants.

However, Twilight could not stop worrying about this. It was not only a week since her last letter, she did not send anything for two months!

Suddenly a urgent collision and collapse to the ground cancelled her contemplation.

"Uhh... sorry! I'm so sorry!"

"It's nothing..."

"No, no, I'm really sorry... hey, wait!" Twilight looked and ran to the male earth pony at last.

He was navy blue with long black mane and with a compass rose as cutie mark. On the ground Twilight quickly noticed a geographical atlas.

"Wait, you've forgotten your maps! Wait!"

But it was too late. The pony was gone.

"I'd better take this." Twilight raised the atlas. "Hm, really nice maps. It would be a pity if this were damaged."

Twilight packed the atlas and moved on.

"That pony was... strange. I can't explain it, but I felt something bad inside him. I should try to become his friend." Maybe he has some problems which she could help him solve? And thanks to that she would have something to report for the Princess.

Young pony made her way to Sugarcube Corner. Rarity and Fluttershy were already sitting there, while Pinkie Pie was finishing baking cupcakes.

"Hi friends. I see you also wanted to eat something."

"Oh welcome Twilight" answered Rarity. "I thought with Fluttershy, we cannot keep doing the same things like visiting Lotus and Aloe's Spa, so we went here to have a nice day."

"TWILIGHT!" Pinkie Pie nearly exploded from happiness at the sight of her friend. "Do you want a cupcake too? Huh, huh, HUH?"

"Umm, yeah."

"Here you go Twillie! And here are some for you too Rarity and Fluttershy!"

"Oh my, thank you so much Pinkie" Fluttershy told the earth pony. Rarity was staring at Twilight, who was slowly eating her cupcake.

"Twilight, what is going on?"

"I've met somepony. He lost this atlas" Twilight showed them the atlas. "I don't know who the pony is."

"So why you won't just ignore this?"

"These maps are really pretty. He must miss them, I guess he must be a traveller. And..."

"And what?" asked Fluttershy.

"I found him interesting." The violet unicorn blushed. "I can't understand this, but there is something mysterious in him."

"Oh, don't worry Twilight!" Pinkie Pie jumped close to the unicorn. "I know everypony in Ponyville! Just ask me and I will tell you where he lives!"

"I've forgot about that! Pinkie, you're a genius!"

"So describe him."

"Navy blue earth pony, black mane and a compass rose as a cutie mark."

Pinkie Pie suddenly looked strange in the window. Just like Pinkamena.

"Um, Pinkie Pie" Fluttershy looked at her really afraid. "What happened?"

"I don't know that pony."

"WHAT?!" everypony looked at her, surprised.

"I don't know who that pony is!" she cried. "I've lived so long in Ponyville believing I know everypony, but I dunno this one!"

"Please, calm down..." Fluttershy told to her. "I don't know him either."

"Neither do I" Rarity said. "But if even Pinkie Pie doesn't know him, maybe he is new here?"

"You're right!" The pink pony became more happy. "And this calls for a PARTY! Wheee!"

The pony ran to her room to organize a party for him.

"Twilight. Just take the atlas to your home" Rarity decided to continue.

"Why?"

"Every time, when there is an abandoned book, it is brought to the library. It is something like a lost-and-found place."

"And you believe he will come there?"

"For sure darling!"

Twilight made a quick glance at the clock.

"Oh, my break is ending! I must go back to studying!"

"Bye Twilight!'

"So this pony must be unknown by everypony in Ponyville... Maybe this is his problem? I am going to help him with that."

But Twilight could not expect that this is not all of his problems.

One hour later the unicorn prepared a table with the inscription "Maps Atlas was found. Reception here", which she put on the library's door. Twilight hoped to have a guest today.

But he did not come that day. Nor the next day, or the next, or the next.

Then on the fifth day, somepony knocked at the door.

"I'm coming!"

Twilight opened the door and she nearly jumped from happiness. It was him. Navy-blue earth pony.

"Ummm, hi." he blushed. "I noticed the advertisement and I thought that maybe it is you, who has my maps."

"Of course! I remember you. I collided with you some days ago." Twilight smiled.

"Sorry about that... I was staring too much at the Fillydelphia map."

"It's nothing. Come in" she said letting him come inside the library. "My name is Twilight Sparkle, what's yours?"

The guest was not answering for a while.

"So this's how Ponyville Library looks..." and then he said silently, even Twilight could not hear him: "A lot of has changed here since last time..."

And then Twilight felt the same dark feeling as she had last time. What was the matter with him?

"Yes. This is our library. You can come here every time you want to take any book to read. So, what's your name?"

"What? Ahh, of course, where are my manners" he blushed making Twilight sure that sometimes he is just like a stallion version of Fluttershy. "My name is Sidnil."

"Have you mentioned you're a traveller?"

"Yes, I am travelling on most weekends, when I've got more free time from work."

"We have got a lot of books about travelling and about Ponyville."

Twilight took one green book titled "Ponyville - everything you should know about this place".

"This one will help you with getting to know Ponyville better."

"I know Ponyville very well. I have lived there since I was born."

Twilight laughed.

"Alright, good joke Sidnil."

"It's true. Check the author of the book."

An unicorn did this and checked. Indeed, there was written "Sidnil".

"Wow, so you're a writer! It is amazing!"

"Meh. Just working for a publisher. I travel thanks to his money, for it I must write guidebooks."

Twilight smiled more.

"I'll prepare some tea with daisy for you."
