I hope you guys liked the first chapter of the story.
I imagined my OC human with eagle-like wings that have golden, brown and cream feathers in rows on the wings.
The OC's name is Samuel D'Angelo and his wingspan is 15 feet.
The Lonely Mother
How long has it been since that fateful day?
I believe it's been...a few thousand...no...it has been a million...nay....twenty?
How many millenia has it been since I have seen another mortal life?
An endless and constant routine of day and night, light and dark, sun and moon. Raised by me to keep the world of Equestria alive and thriving. Along with some magic to keep it a blissfull paradise.
How long has it been since I have been doing it?
There are still animals here. Birds, insects, fish, squirrels, even the occasional bear or two. This world's harmony keeps them alive with my help. The price being sentience.
Simple animals no longer possessing the intelligence and sapience they once had all those years ago. You could talk to them, or ask them a question and you'd get a response. Now, all I get is silence.
At least I am not entirely alone in this world.
The grass remains lush and bright. The oceans still reflect the sunlight in the daytime. They are still beautiful under the moonlight.
Food is of little need to me, magic halting my requirements for such sustenance. If any of my little ponies were still here with me...if even just one, I could give this gift unto them.
Only one, actually. As powerful as I may be, but such conflicts against a pony and their nature is very taxing not only on my strength but my body and my mind.
If just one were here right now, I could talk to them, spend time with them. Oh, how I wish so badly to hear another voice beside my own.
Discord! He is to blame for all of this!
The sound of my hoof stamping in fury spooks various creatures around me, awakening them from their slumber.
I must be calm, I cannot afford to lose control again. I must remain calm no matter what.
Oh no, not again....
Fire. The endless flames incinerates the grass like a hot knife through butter, destroying everything and anything in its quake.
With a quick use of my horn, all is well once more.
The animals and everything that was lost in the flames has been restored, with a little less intelligence. The grass, the trees, the plants, all is well now.
Alas, the flames are my own doing. Brought by my bout of rage, grief and fury. It has been the price of my loneliness, the endless days of living by myself.
I pass out for just one moment, and as soon as I come to...
Everything around me burns...
I do not blame myself in any shape or form.
Rather, I blame Discord for all of this constant death and destruction.
He fooled me and everypony else into trusting him and his words. He denied having the ability to prevent or stop the false meteor that would have destroyed Equestria.
He convinced Luna, convinced Twilight, convinced everypony to leave this world and move to another and uninhabited world!
We all believed and agreed that he had changed and reformed from his evil ways. We believed that Fluttershy, the Element of Kindness had changed him for the better.
Oh, how wrong we were, how wrong I was....
I paid the price for that mistake. I still am.
I can hear the diabolical laughter, his laughter and his amused tone when he explained how my foolishness and believed trust in him had trapped me alone in Equestria for all time.
I remember as he snapped his talons and whisked all the illusions away that he had made to trick everyone, including myself.
How he taunted me about my fate, how he promised he would protect them and keep them safe, how he laughed about my soon-to-be eternal loneliness.
I knew in that moment that I would be eternally alone because of the mistake that I made. The mistake of trusting and believing him.
Why Mother? Why did you do this to me? What did I do wrong?
What did I do to make you abandon me? Was it banishing Luna?
Twilight and Cadence's Ascension?
I did what I did to Luna for the safety of everypony in Equestria. Luna was no more. Only the corrupted remains that became a monster. A demon that mocked me and everypony.
I did what I did to Twilight and Cadance because they deserved it. Twilight was so powerful, mother. Her raw talent was enough to rival my own when I was her age.
I loved her as if she were my own. The same could be said for Cadance. I also loved Sunset Shimmer as if she were my own daughter.
Twilight told me about the distance between herself and her mother when she was a little filly. She never knew of my hatred and severe dislike towards Twilight Velvet.
She was MY little filly. MINE!
Alas, she is gone now, for good. She's been gone for a very long time.
How I wish to speak with her once more, read books with her or teach her magic.
Sadly, those days are behind me and can never come back.
She is gone now. Forever. If I have not been forsaken a millenia or two.
It hurts me terribly. But if I had her permission, I would do anything to keep her or Cadance alive.
If I found one of my ponies alive, I would keep them safe and protect them. I would watch over them forever. And with their permission, they would be able to live forever.
What I would give for just one day with a mortal soul...
How long has it been since that naive and hopefull thought?
A few years, perhaps, since that thought.
I walk through the grass, seeking the sound I heard mere minutes previously.
It was not a loud sound at all. It sounded....It sounded like a teleportation spell...
I may just be delusional. It is not the first time I have imagined something like that.
W-What is that.
Before me is a small crater, smoke billowing off of it. Grass and rubble are scattered around the site. I curiously make my way over to it.
No....It cannot be...How?
What lies within....Is a life, is somepony else beside myself.
All other thoughts aside, I go down into the crater and lift the creature's head with my right wing.
It is bipedal and wearing...clothing?
It is young...So very young....
Perchance I could take care of it.
I do not know how it got here, but I will not complain about the gift before me.
The creature has a pair of golden feathery wings atop it's back. The feathers are mangled and require preening.
C-Can it talk?
A few minutes later I hear it speak.
A voice beside my own for the first time in a very long time...
"W-Where am I?"
He loses consciousness, falling asleep against my barrel.
I will take care of him and raise him as my own.
I will!
He will be my new heir and my son!
Author's Note
This story was inspired by The Lonely Sun by Zamairiac.
Characters:
Princess Celestia(Nicole Oliver)
Samuel/Solaris(Misha Collins)
The Reborn Son.
My son has awoken. His wings were unkempt and required preening. I was happy to do it for him.
"Sleep now." I coo softly. "Mommy will make it all better." With that, he falls back asleep against my body, seeking my warmth. His wings fold against his back.
I fall asleep next to him, draping a wing over his body protectively. Knowing he is safe and protected by me gives me a sense of comfort.
Many years had passed for the both of them. Samuel had grown up into a fine young man. After waking up next to his mother when he first met her, he knew an explanation was in order. His memories were jumbled and he couldn't remember much about his past except for his name and his species.
From what he could remember, his mother-Celestia-had been taking care of him. With her undying maternal love and constant affection, he'd become a gentle and kind being.
For Celestia, it'd helped her deal with the loss of her sister and family. Her mother hadn't been seen in many millenia. She missed Luna dearly. Not only her but also her former pupil and someone she soon came to love as a daugnter. That pony in question was Sunset Shimmer.
She hadn't seen her little sun in so very long. Never a day went by when she wasn't thinking about her sister and former pupil. Twilight was no doubt gone for good as was Luna. Sunset, however, was a possibility she wanted to keep in mind.
Though no one else had been there for her except her son. Even though he didn't look to be the exact same species as her, she knew that it was him.
A long time ago, she'd had a son before her current one. His name was Solaris. Even though he'd been dead for a very long time, she knew that her little colt and her son weren't so different. They were exactly one in the same. Both of them had rose eyes just like herself. A trait they inherited from her.
Memories flashed through her mind as she recalled every single moment with Solaris. They'd had an argument and he'd run away. Whatever had hurt it she'd killed with her bare hooves. However, it was too late and Solaris had passed on. Her grief over losing him was never going to heal.
The motherly alicorn walked over to her human son who was asleep. He gave off the same magical energy signature that Solaris had. Joy filled her heart that moment. Her little colt was indeed alive and right next to her.
"Sleep now, my little colt," Celestia cooed, brushing a hoof through his hair as he mumbled in his sleep, "You'll remember soon enough just who I am to you." With that, she kissed him goodnight and left the room.
Memories flashed through Samuel's mind. Not of Earth but another past life forgotten. He gazed at a white alicorn that looked exactly like his mother except for his blond mane.
Tears welled in his eyes. Why had he been taken from the world he lived in? He started to recall the argument he and his mother had many years ago. Both of them had said things that they knew could never be taken back. But both were willing to forgive each other.
More memories flooded his mind, his magical aura starting to awaken as it attempted to defend him. He gazed through memories of being raised by Celestia-his mother. Suddenly, she whispered a name both of them knew.
"Solaris."
A bright, burning light enveloped Samuel, a sharp whistling sound attributed to the bright energy. He awoke, screaming as every cell in his body absorbed the influx of magic that his body regained. Atom by atom, he was becoming whole again. Prince Solaris, son of Princess Celestia.
The light dimmed down as Samuel got up and sat on his bed, sweating heavily as he panted. Energy raced through his cells, the magic of himself and his mother within him.
He closed his eyes, taking in every single memory. He wasn't just a human anymore. No, he was Prince Solaris and the reborn son of Equestria.
His golden wings extended until they couldn't. Solaris' eyes lit up with bright blue magical energy, a smile forming on his lips.
Solaris walked out of his room and down to the gardens where he knew his mother would be.
Celestia could sense her son's magical energy. She knew it was him. The son she thought had died was now back home and alive.
She had a feeling the two of them were alike. Both Samuel and Solaris had a gentle, loving nature and were never rude.
Solaris ran over and pulled his mother into a hug as she held him, not letting go.
"I'm sorry," He sobbed, "I'm sorry about arguing with you, mom. I'm sorry!" Celestia held him in her hooves and hushed him, nuzzling him softly. Even though it happened a very long time ago, she'd forgiven him. Both of them were to blame for what they said.
"Shhh," She cooed, "Mom's here. I forgave you a long time ago, my little colt. I just hope in turn you can forgive me for what I said." Celestia soothed, looking into her little colt's eyes.
"I already forgave you, mom. I didn't wanna stay mad at you." He mumbled into her chest. She laughed softly. This was the Solaris she remembered raising all those years ago.
Celestia kissed and nuzzled him, content to dote on him like she had when he was young. Despite having grown up, to her, he was her little colt and he always would be.
"I love you, my sweet little colt. Never forget that." Celestia cooed, brushing a hoof through her son's hair.
"I love you too, mom." Solaris said softly, hugging his mother tightly.
The many years of guilt Celestia felt for losing her son vanished as the bond between the both of them was healed. They were truly mother and child again.
The two of them were content to stay like that for the remainder of the day. Mainly Solaris as he enjoyed being held by his mother. Celestia had missed holding Solaris close after he had 'perished' and it'd broken her heart. Now he was back she could put everything behind the both of them.
Nothing was more precious of the bond between mother and son.
