Prologue: From Convention to a new world

Hey, my name is Jonathan Denver, but you can just call me Jonny and I am going to tell you a story about how a fan of Kamen Rider become Kamen Rider Ichigo and a cosplayer of Soul Caliber and best friend became the mistress of Soul Edge in world of Equestria. But to do that I will have to take you to where it all started which happened to be at a convention center in New York City….

It was a peaceful Saturday when I arrive to my first ever convention, I believe it was called Wizard Con 2021 which was almost canceled thanks to Covid-19 but thankfully it didn’t. Anyway, I was one of the many people that entered here with my book bag and Canon Camera in hand hoping to get some pictures of the whole thing as I wanted to make my first experience in a convention special. From taking pictures of the area within, the many people dressed as their favorite characters, and hopefully get some awesome items like this posters of Son Goku that was signed by the actual voice actor of Goku himself. I was also here to give support to a very dear friend who was partaking in the costume contest being held there and from what character she was dressed as I hope she wins.

“JONNY!”

Said a familiar sounding voice as I turned around only to hugged by a paled skin woman with white hair, armored claw, and shoulder guard, dressed in a very revealing outfit as I knew full well who this was.

“Hey Sarah, I see you’re in a good mood.” I say as she lets me go and had a bright smile on her face.

“Well why wouldn’t I be? I just got first place on the costume competition and received a medal to prove it.” She said before presenting her medal to me as I smiled at her accomplishment.

“I have to admit you nailed it on the costume but honestly I thought it would be too inappropriate for an event like this.” I said trying not to look at some parts like a damn creep. And if you’re wondering about Sarah’s costume she is dressed as her favorite character from Soul Caliber called Ivy Valentine a powerful fighter from the game that uses alchemy and uses a sword that also acts as a whip during a fight, however she is mostly remembered by her unique outfit that she wears in the game thankfully Sarah made sure to wear a jacket over her upper body.

Sarah then proceeded to pout at me and crossed her arms as I snickered at her expression even when she tries to act serious, she was still cute to me.

“That may be true, but you can’t deny that I look good as Ivy Valentine, right? She said before doing a pose as I immediately took a picture of it as we then examined the photo through the back screen of my camera.

“Another picture to add to the memory pile though I noticed that you don’t have the snake sword Valentine that you made on you what happened to it?” I ask as she sighed sadly.

“Well after winning the contest some creep got a bit too to me and tried to cope a feel, I then proceeded to hit him across the face with my fake sword knocking him out, but I also broke it in the process.” She said dejectedly as I placed a comforting hand on her shoulder.

“Hey, don’t worry I am sure we can find a replacement after all I have noticed some stalls here in the center maybe we can find a replacement and also find some other items to collect.” I say as she smiles back at me.

“Well, what are we waiting for let’s go!” she says as she grabs onto my arm and pulls me into a sprint as I shook my head at her antics with smirk on my face as we began to look around the place. As we go through each stall, we noticed a large assortment of items for sale sadly none of them had any replicas of Valentine or anything that caught my eye.

It was then that we were drawn to one stall were a man dressed up as the Merchant from Resident Evil 4 stood as I suggested that we try to him next though I could Sarah was losing hope at this point but agreed none the less. We then approach the stall as we examined all the items he had for sale ranging from weapons, pieces of other costumes, to other items that look like that real thing.

“Watta ya buyin?” said the merchant as me and Sarah looked at one another surprised to hear the man sound exactly like the character from the game before looking back to him.

“Hi there, you wouldn’t happen to have a replica of the Valentine sword from Soul Caliber, would you?” I ask the merchant as he rubs his chin in thought before turning around as he opened a chest and proceeded to look inside before pulling out a sword before presenting it to us.

“Would this be what ya looking for?” he asked as me and Sarah were wide-eyed at the sight as the sword itself was not a wooden replica, but an actual sword as Sarah proceeded to lift it up by the handle and raised up to her as she was mesmerized by the blades design.

“Its perfect.” Said Sarah who was gushing at the sight of her soon to be new blade as the merchant then looked towards me.

“What about you anything caught your eye?” Asked the merchant as I browsed around all the items he had for sale until I took notice of a particular item on display.

“Is that a rider belt?” I ask out of surprise as the Merchant grabs the item I mentioned as he places it in front of me. Some of you may not know this but I am a huge fan of the karate bug men known as Kamen Riders who were like the greatest Japanese heroes of all time even greater than power rangers at least to me that is. They were mostly known for using a unique belt that would all them to transform into a rider granting them greater power as well as deliver one of the most famous finishing moves called the Rider Kick. This particular belt happens to be the one worn by the very first rider called Kamen Rider Ichigo or Rider 1 for it was a large red belt with two silver boxes on each side and in the center was the gyro device that would spin allowing the user to transform into a rider as it was sealed in a cover with the picture of a grasshopper head in the center and behind it was the letter R in bold red.

“You know that would fit nicely to your collection since you mentioned of having a belt of your own.” Said Sarah who brought up a valiant point as I was admiring the design of the belt.

“If you are interested, I will also offer some other items, for a special price that is.” Said the merchant as we both nodded with interest as he presents us with other items such as Ivy’s golden armored gauntlet with the skull on the side, the red kamen rider scarf, 3 figures of Kamen rider Ichigo, Ezio’s hidden blade, a wearable Ichigo helmet, and the hyrule shield and master sword? The last item was a bit off, however Sarah was very happy as I looked at her in confusion.

“You forget that Ezio was a guest character in the most recent soul calibur games, and I have always wanted to own one of these. Plus, in one of the older games Link from the legend of Zelda also made a guest appearance in the game.” She said loving her new item as I rolled my eyes before looking back at the Merchant.

“Okay so how much for all of these.” I ask though I could tell he was happy as he rubbed his hands together and snickered a bit.

“Well usually these items would go over $1000 dollars but seeing is how you two are the first to buy these kinds of items I will bring it to around $800 dollars plus some two more items that I have been trying to get rid of.

Once he said over $1000, I nearly had a heart attack but calmed down when he said $800 dollars. Me and Sarah looked at each other and after some time we both nodded and proceed to pay half of the amount as the Merchant snickers in delight at our purchase. He then proceeds to hand over two small boxes as we both open to see a black ring with a red gem in the center which for some reason looked kinda familiar to me as we look at the Merchant with an eyebrow raised as he simply shrugged at us.

“Like I said I have been wanting to get rid of these two plus you two seem to be a good match for these two.” He said honestly as we simply shrugged before placing our new rings around our middle finger before gathering our new items before leaving the man $300 dollars just for him.

“Thank you, very much good sir.” Said Sarah in an English accent trying to act like Ivy.

“Yeah, thanks for making our day.” I say as we both wave at the Merchant who waved at us back.

“No problem and good luck in your new lives you two.” Said the Merchant but just before either one of us could ask what he meant by that something strange happened.

For some reason I started to feel lightheaded and from the corner of my eye I could see Sarah going through something similar. But before I could ask her what was wrong everything goes black and soon our lives would change forever for, we would no longer be on earth any more…

But a world called Equestria…
