Epilogue

Previous Chapter

The harsh lights of the hallway stung his eyes as Big Mac left the dark hotel room. By now he was used to letting Sugar Belle sleep in a bit whilst he got his day started, and with how vivacious they were last night, he couldn’t imagine Rainbow or AJ being awake either. He half-stumbled down the hall to the elevator on a quest for the continental breakfast. He knew he was probably still too early for it, but his farm work lifestyle forced him to get up early like this.

When he got out of the elevator, a familiar stetson was there waiting for breakfast. His sister was sitting against the wall, clearly lost in her thoughts. He knew that look. She was doubting herself and possibly her whole life. And seeing her like that was making him doubt himself, too. He walked over and sat next to her, ready to be her supportive big brother just like he always was.

After a couple minutes, she began to speak. "We did a lot of things last night."

Big Mac nodded. "Yep."

"We did a lot of things...together."

"Eyep."

"It was so much better than all my dreams I've had. It was so warm. And safe. I don't even fully feel like that when I'm with Rainbow." She reached up and pulled her hat down over her face. "Don't tell her I said that."

Bic Mac smiled at his sister. She was always so worried about her image, just like her marefriend. It was their main reason for disagreements. Applejack straightened her hat and looked up at him.

“Are we okay? Is it wrong that I’ve wanted that for so long? Is it wrong that…you gave it to me?”

He thought about that. Whether or not they should have had sex never crossed his mind. All he knew was that she was his sister and he loved her with everything he had. He reached a hoof out and wrapped it around her shoulders, pulling her close.

“I love you, Applejack. You love me. I think that’s all that matters.”

She relaxed into his chest and returned the hug. “I do love you, Big Mac.”

Big Mac kissed the top of Applejack’s hat as he tightened his hug. She lifted her muzzle and pulled him down for another kiss. Tender lips met as they shared their new depth of love. A loud Ka-Chunk snapped them back to the present and they turned to face the doors opening to the breakfast hall. A few ponies were finally beginning to make their way to the hall as the sun began to peek around the tall buildings of the city.

Applejack and Big Mac walked in and began piling their plates high with muffins and fruits and yogurt. They sat and ate while they talked about plans for the farm and plans for another hotel stay. They had a lot of fun and would need to do this again, but they did have a farm to run. A new chapter in their lives had begun and they were going to enjoy it just as much as all the others.

Author's Note

And now this story is complete.

It didn’t feel complete when I submitted it for the contest, but I think this puts a nice bow on things. I hope you enjoyed it.
