Rarity is pretty much the oldest of the Elements of Harmony. She is 19 years old. She lives in the Carousel Boutique near the center of Ponyville.

Rarity has a younger sister, named Sweetie Belle. Sweetie Belle is only a filly, only 5 years old. She constantly goes around Ponyville, trying to earn her Cutie Mark, along with her two other friends, Scootaloo and Apple Bloom. Rarity also owns a cat, named Opalescence.

13 years ago, when Rarity was only 6 years old, after trying time and time again to make spectacular dresses for a play, her horn began to glow, and drag her across the land, only to stumble upon a boulder. But, it wasn't just a boulder...It was a rock!

Suddenly, a rainbowy explosion erupted in the skies, breaking the rock in two. But inside the rock were...diamonds. She had realized that these would complete her dresses! Eventually, she had earned her Cutie Mark.

She had met Twilight and the others when she was 17. She had also noticed that Twilight's assistant, Spike, had a crush on her.

Eventually, she began to have feelings for him, as well.

She is now 19 years old...and an untold disaster separates her and her friends...
