Twilight Sparkle is the leader, and a friend of the Mane Six, also known as the Elements of Harmony. Twilight is a lavender colored unicorn, who is into books, studying, and magic. She is the student of Princess Celestia.

Twilight is 16 years old. She started Magic Kindergarten at age 5, gaining her Cutie Mark at 5 1/2 years old. She enrolled into the University of Magic at age 12.

She met Pinkie Pie, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, and Fluttershy at 14 years old, when Nightmare Moon attacked. During the party that Pinkie Pie had thrown her, she had met Thunder Ice, who was hiding in her bedroom from the annoying noises of the party.

She quickly became friends with him, but that friendship grew into something more. Soon, they were a couple.

By the time Twilight was 16, just two years after she had met Thunder and the others...an unspeakable event pulled them from each other.
