The Friendship Games: New Student
Chapter 3
Previous ChapterNext ChapterThe bell for lunch rang throughout the hallway as the students all went towards the cafeteria to eat. Jordan got a tray from the stack and went in line. As he observed the food he could tell just by looking at it, that the quality of food here was better than the ones at his old school. He had gotten a double cheesburger with fries, along with a Pepsi and salad bowl. The cafeteria was also very crowded. Almost every student was there. He found an available seat at a table that had three people on it. The first was a blue-haired boy wearing a gray jacket and blue jeans. The next one looked bigger than the other two. He had light green hair, a beanie and wore a red shirt with a brown vest and light blue jeans. The last one had thick glasses, a yellow shirt with an atom symbol on it with purple pants. Jordan walked over and greeted them. "Sup. Mind if I sit here?"
The blue-haired boy looked at him. "Oh hey. Yeah we don't mind."
Jordan sat his tray on the table then introduces himself. "I'm Jordan Cobalt by the way."
"Nice to meet you. I'm Flash Sentry," The blue-haired boy smiled.
"Sandalwood," The chill looking dude said holding peace sign.
"Micro Chips," the nerdy one said.
"A lot of people here don't seem to excited about the Friendship Games huh?" Jordan chuckled. Sandalwood gave a sad sigh.
"My dude, it may seem exciting to you since it's your first time but when you constantly lose to a bunch of egoistic snobs it gets really on your nerves."
"I know but who knows maybe this time will be different." Jordan tried to reassure giving a hopeful smile. "Even if we are going to lose I am still hyped because this will be my first I will participate. You have any idea what any of the events will be?"
"Beats me, they could be anything," Micro muttered. "And I mean anything."
"Maybe keep your hopes high up, it might be something you like," Jordan smirked.
"Yeah, maybe a fencing match for the final game. That would be sick!" Sandalwood wondered happily.
"That would be really cool," Flash agreed. Jordan just shrugged his shoulders.
"Who knows maybe a miracle might happen." He took a bite of his pizza slice and swallowed. Surprisingly it was actually pretty good for a school food. "Wow, this is actually not bad at all considering this is a school food."
"It is pretty good," Sandalwood admitted. "Although you might want to pack your own lunch on some days. Sometimes the food they serve can be a bit suspicious."
"Got it," Jordan replied.
"So what do you usually do?" Flash asked.
"Me? Oh well just video games and sports."
"Apex Legends?" Micro guessed.
"Yep. That and Valorant are my two main games now. You play Apex too?"
"I'm more into games like League of Legends."
"Nice. I used to play that game until I quit once I reached Challenger. How long you've been playing?"
"For four years. I'm actually working my way up there." Micro said. The lunch bell rang and it was time for everyone to go back to thier classes.
"Alright, I'll cya around. Nice meeting yall." Jordan said as his new friends gave him all a wave bye. He left the cafeteria and was about to head back to his classroom when he heard Principal Celestia's voice through the intercom:
"Attention students, please report to the gym!". Jordan knew it was about the Friendship Games so he headed straight there.
When he got there, he saw Sunset with her friends except for Rainbow Dash. Pinkie noticed him and waved at him wildly.
"Jordan! OVER HERE!" Every head turned towards his direction making feel a bit awkward from Pinkie drawing attention to him. He walked over to the girls and took a seat by them.
"Hey again." He noticed one of the girls he met isn't there. "Where's uhhh the other one...I don't remember the top of my head."
"Rainbow Dash," AppleJack answered. "And she's on the backstage. Said she was going to give us a motivational speech or something."
"At this point, we need all the motivational speeches we can get," Rarity muttered. "If that's what it takes to even beat Crystal Prep."
"The problem is that we don't know what events are going to be happening. It could be anything!"
"I'm sorry you couldn't win a single event but hey, maybe this year would be different." He suddenly grinned. "Oh and by the way, there's a chance that some of the events will be motorcross, archery, and a tricross relay." Rarity's eyes went wide.
"What? Are you absolutley sure?"
Jordan nodded. "I'm positive. Also expect a spelling bee someone in the Academic decathalon. I know it's not really helpful already knowing what events will be played but at least you'll be somewhat mentally prepared."
"How do you know this?" AJ asked raising her eyebrow. Before Jordan had time to answer, Principal Celestia got on the mic and addressed her students.
"Welcome, everyone to the CHS rally. Tomorrow we will begin our Friendship Games against the Crystal Prep Academy!" She said cheerfully. The students, minus Jordan all responded with unethusatic applauses. The later seemed interested about the news, despite the fact Canterlot High has never won once before. Principal Celestial seemed to notice the students lack of enthusiasm. "We know that our school has never won...ever but that is why Rainbow Dash has volunteered to give us a little...motivation." Rainbow came out from the curtains on the stage and took the mic from Principal Celestia.
"Thank you, Principal." She turned towards the students. "You heard what Principal Celestia said! We've never won Crystal Prep once! Not even a close one but that doesn't mean we should give up. We shouldn't let them make fun of us! Just because they're smart, athletic, motivated than our school doesn't make them any much better."
"She about to give a motivational speech I assume," Jordan said.
"You betcha" AJ replied. "Wonder how motivated we'll be."
"This year that's all going to change!" Rainbow continued on.

After the song, all the students cheered feeling much better about themselves. Jordan meanwhile was shocked about Rainbow's transformation. "What in the..."
"It's something that happens when we do certain things. It's called Ponying up!" AJ laughed. "I bet you're old school didn't have that huh?"
Jordan returned the laugh. "Hehe not really. Not that I don't believe in magic or anything, I just never seen it in person before."
"We'll you definitley be seeing it alot here, darling." Rarity said. Her friends and Jordan went to catch up with Rainbow at the backstage.
"Wow, Rainbow. I gotta say that was incredible!" Jordan complimented. "Judging how much you lifted everyone's spirits I have no doubt we can win!"
"Although it is a bit suspicious how Rainbow was able to pony up without playing her guitar..." AJ said suspiciously.
"Who cares? It's awesome when it happens!" Rainbow said cheerfully.
"You're not wrong, but there's gotta be more reason than that," Sunset said as she chuckled. Vice Principal Luna came by.
"Well whatever the reason may be, it would be preferrable to keep it under control. We don't want Crystal Prep to think we're at some sort of fair advantage."
"Of course, Vice Principal Luna." Sunset said. Luna nodded in approval and turned to Jordan.
"And I'll like to see you in the Principal's Office. Me and Principal Celestia have some important things to discuss."
"Yes ma'am," Jordan replied. He turned towards Sunset and the girls. "I'll catch you girls later. Peace." He said holding a peace sign and began to walk out.
"later," Rainbow said
"Cya!"
"Bye!"
