The rebellion cares for the refugees displaced by the caribou, the lucky ones who managed to escape into hard points the regime cannot conquer. They give the refugees the best they can, shelter and food and some semblance of hope. It's not very common, but they even give a party now and then. That's what a bunch of teens get one night. A party. Just a party. A happy party.

A party that Maureen sen Kate O'Bald of the RGA's Sinn Bean division, attached to the rebellion, finds unseemly. She knows everything. Knows what it really means. And the Black Knight knows well why she feels it, after what he had her do. But nothing stops the march of time. The party will stretch into the depths of darkness, and last the span of happiness.

They will try to make the most of the night, because at dawn...
