Chapter 16: Like Chalk and Cheese

While Sunset and Pinkie were busy indulging themselves with some video games, there was a similarly optimistic feeling in a soon-to-be ruler, back in Equestria. Within the quiet and peaceful courtyard of Canterlot, surrounded by various tables and decorations, Twilight Sparkle examined a meticulously crafted checklist, wanting to make sure that everything would go smoothly for the upcoming coronation. Her horn glowed with magic as she levitated yet another scroll, skimming through the intricately organized guest list with a furrowed brow. The anticipation of her big day tomorrow was immeasurable, nothing like she ever felt before, even compared to when she first became a princess and got her wings.

"Alright, Spike." Twilight said to the dragon, who was pushing the last box of sparkling apple juice. "I've triple-checked the list now, and I'm able to officially say that we're all set for the coronation. The guests have been invited, the food and entertainment have been arranged, and I've managed to accept the reality of what's to come, without losing my mind. I mean think about it, after the whole ceremonial crowning event, I'll be in charge of not just Canterlot, but Equestria in its entirety."

"I realize it's a big responsibility, but I also know you can handle it." Spike encouraged. "I mean think about it, you've not only managed to defeat Tirek, Chrysalis, Cozy Glow, King Sombra, and the Storm King, but even helped other ponies change for the better. I wouldn't exactly imagine Moondancer, Starlight, or Sunset would be better off today, had it not been for your willingness to extend your friendship to them."

"Fair points you've got there." Twilight smiled at Spike's faith in her. "Although it's pretty much guaranteed that most of my closest friends will be there at the coronation, I'm particularly hoping that Sunset can make it on time. She may not exactly be somepony that we see very often, but I'd still consider her as much of a friend, as Applejack or Fluttershy. Plus, I can only imagine how sweet it would be for her and Celestia to have one last reunion, before she's off to Silver Shoals. I'm so proud that Sunset's managed to make amends with her a while back, I'd definitely understand how difficult and awkward it must've been for her, seeing her again after all these years."

"Pretty hard to imagine how different things were, especially when you first met her?" Spike reflected. "Not only was she ruling that school, as if she were Dragon Lord Torch, but she transformed into a literal she-demon! Actually, come to think of it, that technically wasn't the very first time you encountered her, it was only after she snuck into that castle at the Crystal Empire, and stole your crown in the middle of the night, wasn't it?"

"That's right, but it's certainly all in the past." Twilight replied. "Sunset's turned over a new leaf, and she's done so much good since then, especially with her new friends in the Human World. She's definitely proven herself to be one of the most trustworthy and noble friends I know, and I've seen just how much she's grown. Out of anypony else I've met over the years, it's certainly quite agreeable that I was given the chance to know Sunset. I dare say that if it wasn't for my connection with her, my confrontation with Starlight back then would've gone much differently."

"Well... you're not entirely wrong about that." Spike folded his arms. "Remember how you felt about Trixie, even after Starlight became friends with her? Plus, I know that even now, you're not exactly thrilled about Trixie's new position at the School of Friendship, considering recent events."

"Trixie and I may not exactly see things eye to eye, but I can certainly agree that she's played a huge role in Starlight's life, considering what happened with Sunburst." Twilight said. "Since then, I've always tried my best to be more open-minded and accepting, but then... you saw what happened with Cozy Glow. I mean, who could've ever expected that? A FILLY of all ponies, teaming up with Lord Tirek, as well as the same queen who tried to ruin my brother's wedding?"

"I mean, when you put it that way, it's just a reminder that the most unexpected bonds can either make or break us." Spike shrugged. "Hmm, since you mentioned her earlier, have you told the rest of your friends about how much Sunset's turned over a new leaf? As far as I'm aware, the last time they've even met Sunset at all, was when she was stealing your crown back then. Much like how she made amends with Celestia, I'd say it's in our best interest to make the coronation as friendly and welcoming for her, as possible."

"Oh, I definitely have!" Twilight assured. "They all know how much she's changed, and they'll be looking forward to officially meeting her for the first time. Plus, Starlight's met her before, and I'm aware of how close they've grown together as friends. I'm sure Sunset will have plenty of stories to share, to advocate the idea that no one is truly beyond redemption, as long as you give them a second chance."

"I wouldn't be so sure that applies to absolutely everyone, if you count the Flim Flam brothers." Spike recalled. "They're clearly ones to take a second chance for granted, if that recent Friendship University fiasco is anything to go by."

"You're not exactly wrong, but I'd like to believe in the good in everypony." Twilight sighed. "Besides, we can't just let our past experiences with a pair of shady con artists ruin our view of Equestria. If anything, going off of my responsibilities as the Princess of Friendship over the years, I can confidently say that as long as I hold the throne, there'll be peace and prosperity for every creature, no matter what kind of challenges we'll be met with."

"Would that include Flim and Flam?" Spike questioned. "Cause... call me crazy, but I don't think they've ever crossed paths with Celestia, at least, not any instances that I know of. Come to think of it, I don't recall ever seeing those two attempt to pull a quick one, here in Canterlot. Kinda surprising, since there's a lot of wealthy residents living here, such easy targets for their manipulative schemes."

"All I know is, if they ever do decide to return and try their luck, we'll be ready for them." Twilight giggled. "Now then, let's not drift our thoughts too much about the past and its negativity. The coronation is all about unity and friendship, and I want it to be a day filled with joy and happiness, especially considering how much things will change. I'll technically even be... moving away from my friends, on top of having a very busy schedule."

Twilight internally knew for a while, that the thought of leaving her friends behind was absolutely terrifying, especially after all they've been through together. The princess wasn't aware that her friend, Sunset Shimmer, had been going through a similar struggle in the other world, and was still unsure of how this ultimate change would affect her own friends. Regardless of how things would play out afterwards, Spike kept his optimism, and did his best to assure Twilight that no matter the outcome, her friends would proudly always watch over her from afar.

"Don't you worry, Twilight." Spike put a claw on the princess's shoulder. "Your friends will always support your decisions, and they'll be looking out for you, even when you're busy checking off those scrolls. I'm sure that once the coronation is done, we'll be swarmed with so many well-wishers, that you won't have any time to feel lonely. How's about we take a break from all this planning, and just enjoy the quiet evening together? We've already finished delivering the last of the sparkling apple juice from Sweet Apple Acres, so we might as well. Though... come to think of it, this is the weirdest-smelling batch of cider I've come across. It almost smells like... applesauce? I feel like I can definitely smell a hint of cinnamon coming from this crate."

"I'm no expert on Applejack's cider, but I'm fairly certain she doesn't use any cinnamon in the recipe." Twilight pondered. "In that case, maybe we should check this batch, just to make sure nothing's wrong with it."

But before Twilight could even open the crate, not realizing that the supposed cider had been replaced with batches of applesauce, due to a mix-up from Big McIntosh, the princess immediately turned her attention to a familiar stallion's voice.

"Princess Twilight!" Flash Sentry trotted into the courtyard, donning his royal guard armor. "I figured I could find you here of all places, we can never truly stop bumping into each other, it seems."

"Flash, it's always a pleasure to see you!" The princess greeted warmly. "I'm a little surprised to see you're still wearing your armor, since you're not scheduled to be on duty right now. Well regardless, is there something you need?"

"I was told to deliver a message to you, all the way from the Crystal Empire." Flash explained. "Shining Armor has ordered a summons for you, Princess. He and Princess Cadence have some incredibly urgent matters to discuss with you. I wasn't told what the meeting would be about, but it most likely has something to do with your role in Equestria, following the coronation tomorrow."

"Summons from the Crystal Empire?" Twilight's eyes widened in surprise. "This is unexpected, but if my brother says it's urgent, then I must attend this meeting, immediately. Spike, could you please make sure to lock up the castle for the night? I'll be sure to fetch you tomorrow, when it's time for us to pack up everything at the Castle of Friendship."

"You got it, Twilight!" Spike gave a thumbs up. "Just remember to not let the suspense sour your mood for tomorrow, we've got a big day ahead of us!"

Hearing this, Flash immediately escorted Twilight out of the courtyard, as the two began making their way to the Crystal Empire as fast as they could. Spike meanwhile, took a peek within the crate's contents, only to see a large batch of mushy apple cider. This was especially unusual, as the dragon noticed that the label specifically mentioned that it was supposed to be fizzy apple juice.

"Ehhh, it's probably just a small mix-up, no big deal." Spike shrugged, before closing the crate's lid. "Mr. Ramsay's garlic mashed potatoes are nothing without a little applesauce on the side. Alright, now that I've checked, I might as well lock up and hit the hay for tonight, even a dragon needs his beauty sleep."

As Spike and Twilight went their separate ways for the evening, Sunset was seemingly about to do the same with Pinkie, now that the two had been playing video games for over an hour. The two friends had been taking turns back and forth, doing their best to achieve the high score, with Sunset being in the lead. Pinkie was admittedly surprised that she had been falling behind in this competition, but genuinely cared more about having fun, rather than being a hardcore gamer. Although the session wasn't being livestreamed, Sunset believed it was cute to have one of them play, while the other provided colorful commentary on top of the gameplay.

"I must say, this is certainly a game I've never had the opportunity to experience before." Pinkie watched Sunset's gameplay throughout the level. "I mean, why is this red man in overalls jumping on pipes, bricks, and question mark blocks all the time? And why does he get taller when he eats those mushroom things, you think it's an allergic reaction?"

"When you really think about it, this is a pretty bizarre game." Sunset commented. "I mean he's actually trying to save a princess from some giant turtle dragon, not really something you could expect to see in real life."

"Hehehehe, did you just kick that turtle shell into those walking chocolates with eyes?" Pinkie giggled. "I don't think Fluttershy would like this game very much, she loves turtles just as much as I love pumpkin pie with a dash of whipped cream."

"I'm sure it's not exactly everyone's cup of tea, but I've been able to make do with Fluttershy's tastes, since I played some squirrel game with her last time." Sunset said as she finished the level. "This game is actually pretty basic, but it certainly has that classic feel to it, nothing like those newer games with fancy high-definition graphics, and even amusing voice acting."

"So wait, what exactly is the red man doing by lowering the flag?" Pinkie questioned. "And what's that building he's going into, is it supposed to be some kind of a fast food place, and he wants the employees to close up for the day, so they don't have to work unpaid overtime?"

"I never quite thought of it that way, but sure, let's pretend he's fighting for the working class." Sunset shrugged, as her grip on the controller tightened. "Before, I always just assumed it's simply the end of the level, a fitting move from an even more classic game like this. Honestly Pinkie, I'm surprised you've never played it."

"Surprise is the spice of life, it's so fun to let your imagination wander!" Pinkie exclaimed, bouncing slightly on the couch. "Though you know what's even more surprising? How good you are at this game, you're breezing through the levels like it's nothing! I thought for sure that I'd be the one schooling you, but it seems like I've got some catching up to do. Hey wait, why did you just go down that pipe, instead of continuing to the right?"

"Because if I did that instead, I would be going to the right forever, let's just say." Sunset did her best to explain. "Yeah, I know it doesn't make sense, but over time, you just get used to video game logic."

"Huh, and now you're suddenly underwater, with a bunch of moving fire traps." Pinkie observed. "Wait a second, since when can there be fire in the WATER? That would be like my sister Maud, not knowing the difference between an igneous and sedimentary rock!"

"Video games just have their own set of rules sometimes, it's best not to think about it." Sunset continued providing her commentary. "Just like how this giant turtle has unlimited hammers at his disposal. Who does he think he is, the owner of the local hardware store?"

"Hehehe, or maybe he's just really good at playing hide-and-seek with them!" Pinkie suggested. "Why does he choose to specifically fight the red man on a bridge, right over cherry soda? Or is that supposed to be pomegranate soda, it's really hard to tell."

"Pffft, it's pretty amusing to imagine that either one of their ultimate goals would be to dunk the other into the pool, filled with a refreshing beverage like that." Sunset rolled her eyes, playfully. "And now that I've successfully landed him into the carbonated red soft drink, we've officially rescued the princess!"

"Wow, you're like a knight in shining armor, slaying the big turtle with a... jump?" Pinkie giggled, her laughter echoing in the room. "But seriously Sunset, those were some impressive skills you just displayed, I can see why you managed to get the high score in the end, while I got a game over in only the first level. I think I'll just stick to my party games from now on, I like the ones where everyone wins!"

"In all fairness, everyone's got their own strengths." Sunset tried to keep Pinkie optimistic. "After all, you throw parties better than anyone I know, and I'm sure I'd be lost without your guidance, when it comes to organizing those."

"Just like how you managed to control a red man so effectively, that he's not only rich from collecting all those gold coins, but now has a princess, all to himself!" Pinkie chirped. "What's he supposed to be exactly, a mechanic who dyed his clothes?"

"He's supposed to be a plumber, and I guess it's symbolic that you think he's rich, since I've heard that plumbers do make pretty good money." Sunset laughed. "I'm not exactly sure if I intend on becoming a plumber after graduation, but I'd imagine it's not too farfetched. After all, I know how to use a lot of tools in shop class, and I'm already pretty familiar with basic mechanical work. How about you, Pinkie, have you decided what path you'll be taking soon?"

"Would clown college be an option for me?" Pinkie shrugged. "If not, I'd probably just consider opening my own bakery, or at least plan special parties for a living. Like you've said, it's my signature specialty, and the number one biggest thing I'm passionate about! I haven't really given college any actual thought, but that's only because it's too expensive."

"Many of our other classmates would likely have the exact same dilemma, regardless of what path they'll take." Sunset reflected. "Like, what's the point of being a rock star, if I'll be stuck behind a textbook, just for a class that has absolutely nothing to do with my main passions? It's no wonder the girls have been against college, despite it being the expected next step for most students."

"In all seriousness, who really needs a fancy degree when you can already make people smile with a cupcake?" Pinkie winked. "It's usually more a matter of how determined you are, rather than hoping this education will give you an opportunity. My mom would know, she really hates her boss, and wants to quit every single day. If I were in her position though, I'd probably bring the boss some coffee with extra cream and sprinkles!"

Pinkie's words resonated with Sunset, who knew all too well, the very challenges of following your heart, compared to being inclined to blindly follow societal expectations. She put down the controller, feeling a bit nostalgic, as this whole concept seemed quite comparable to her mindset back then, when she was still a student at the School For Gifted Unicorns. Sunset had already learned from experience, the very consequences of focusing all of her efforts on just purely her studies, leaving no room for happiness, friends, or a social life. These attributes ended up making her bitter, arrogant, and snarky towards her classmates, either due to the prolonged stress, or the idea that she would be nothing without her academic achievements.

"Let's just say, I've learned that particular lesson the hard way." Sunset leaned back into the couch. "Life's too short to spend it all on just books and tests, you sometimes just have to take a step back and remember what truly makes you happy. Back when I was Princess Celestia's pupil, I might've had the highest marks in the school, but I was always unhappy and stressed. Even if I do end up planning to go to college one day, I surely wouldn't want to make the same mistakes I did back then."

"And if I could afford to go to college, I wouldn't really want to, anyways." Pinkie shrugged. "I mean, I've actually heard that those places are pretty well known for their... parties, but they're not exactly the kind of parties I'd want to be invited to. You get what I mean, lots of shady activity there, along with the fruit punch having a little... extra taste in it."

Sunset knew what Pinkie was specifically referring to, but didn't want to get too much into it, since she wasn't the type of person to partake in such activities. Spending this time with Pinkie had already allowed Sunset to form a solid idea on what path she would most likely take, despite already sending out a college application, just to give herself more options. After all, Equestria wasn't the same place it once was, and for all she knew, using her magic again might not be as thrilling as she imagined. However, these thoughts were quickly derailed, as the girls suddenly heard a knock at the front door, along with a male voice.

"Hello, anyone home?" The voice called out. "I've got some cookies for sale, are you interested?"

"Cookies at this hour?" Sunset raised an eyebrow. "I have a feeling we'll need to keep our guard up, this isn't typically the time you'd expect some cookie salesman."

"Hey wait, I recognize that voice!" Pinkie got up from the couch. "Cheese Sandwich, is that you?"

"That's me!" Cheese replied. "I wasn't expecting to see you here, Pinkie Pie, this is quite the wonderful surprise!"

"Hmm, well if you know who that is, then I suppose it'll be safe to open the door this late..." Sunset checked through the peephole, thankful that it wasn't that thug from earlier. "Please come on in."

"Thanks a bunch, Miss!" Cheese Sandwich came into the apartment. "I understand this may not be the most ideal time to go door-to-door for some cookies, but I just had to unload this last batch. It's been a pretty fulfilling mission, I've been traveling across the city, trying to spread friendship and joy, one cookie at a time!"

"You're speaking my kind of language there, I intend to do the same after graduation, but I'll probably stick with cupcakes instead of cookies." Pinkie giggled. "I may've only just met you recently, but I haven't ever come across anybody else as devoted into party-planning as you! This here is my friend, Sunset Shimmer, and she really knows how to party, herself!"

"It's nice to meet you, Cheese Sandwich." Sunset offered a polite smile, feeling a bit more at ease with Pinkie knowing this person. "But I must ask, since it's admittedly a bit odd for cookie sales at this hour. Is there something special about these cookies, which makes them worth the late-night visit?"

"You bet there is!" Cheese Sandwich immediately took a box from his wagon. "These aren't just any ordinary cookies, they're the friendship-filled, happiness-infused, one-of-a-kind Cheesy-Dough-Wows! Basically, crunchy cheesecake fillings made with a dash of love, as well as a sprinkle of the finest ingredients! I've been perfecting this recipe for a while, and I figured, what better way to spread joy than by sharing them with the residents of this city?"

"I admittedly haven't tried cheesecake AND cookies combined, sounds interesting." Sunset said, rather intrigued. "I think I've got some money laying around, how much for a box?"

"Normally, I would go for five bucks a piece, but I'm not actually fundraising for a charity or anything." Cheese began explaining. "It's mostly a matter of sharing my creation with the residents around town, to get a little more familiar with everyone. In fact, since you and Pinkie are friends, this one's on the house!"

"Well, that's quite the generous offer, thank you." Sunset smiled as she opened the box handed to her, before picking out a cookie and taking a bite. "Mmm, you've got to try this, Pinkie, it's like a party in your mouth! These really are something special, so sweet and savory, I can see why you're eager to share them."

"Oh my goodness, they're... AMAZING!" Pinkie exclaimed as she nibbled on a cookie. "I can totally feel the happiness in every cheesy crumb! I mean, I already knew that you were exceptionally good at coming up with baked goods, but this is a whole new level!"

"How's about that, the appreciation for my true culinary genius is just priceless, even compared to whatever amount of money I can earn from selling these!" Cheese Sandwich winked. "I already knew you've always had a huge palette for sweets, Pinkie, and it looks like your friend now recognizes true art that you can eat! It's all about bringing folks together, and it looks as though I've certainly done my job! To tell you the truth, I'm mostly only earning what little money I can for the time being, just to adapt to this new lifestyle, especially since I'm not from around here."

"You're new to Canterlot City, Cheese?" Sunset raised an eyebrow. "But you seem to know Pinkie quite well, so I'm a little bit confused. Did you two meet at a party or something?"

"Nope, we actually met at the park, last week!" Pinkie shook her head. "I'm actually rather surprised that despite us never meeting before, he seemed to already know all about who I was, and the type of girl I am. It's just like when I first met Twilight at CHS back then, the only explanation I could come up with is, he's psychic!"

"I'm sure that it's more likely you're just unforgettable, Pinkie." Sunset rolled her eyes, playfully. "I've found that your particular brand of cheerfulness tends to stick with people, so much so that you're friends with practically everyone at CHS. But seriously, these are incredible, Cheese, you've got quite the talent for baking."

"Glad to hear that I may have a future in delivering a delicious sensation to the world!" Cheese grinned. "Much like Pinkie here, I've been all about party-planning, but it wasn't always like that. In fact, I had to find my true passions and place in the world, and it was all thanks to a certain someone, who reminded me of her. You could almost argue that my Cheesy Sense had practically brought Pinkie and I together, almost as if it was destined for us to meet."

"Awww, you really know how to make me feel like a batch of fresh doughnuts." Pinkie blushed. "But what's this... Cheesy Sense that you speak of? This is admittedly the first time I've ever heard of such a thing, is it like a secret superpower, or the main way you're able to recite your cookie recipe by heart?"

"Oh Pinkie, I suppose there's always a good opportunity to learn something new, allow me to explain!" Cheese cracked up. "The Cheesy Sense is something of an intuition, a sixth sense if you will, which helps me gauge the mood of whenever there's a party in need of my talents. I'm even capable of sensing the future with this special ability, which always had a habit of giving me the last laugh in a number of situations."

"Sense the future, you say?" Sunset couldn't help but let her curiosity get the better of her. "Well to tell you the truth, I'm pretty uncertain of how my future's going to turn out, mostly thanks to some important events coming up, as well as a tough decision I'll have to eventually make. Would you be willing to use your Cheesy Sense to predict where I'll likely end up? Say... perhaps a prediction on when exactly we'll next meet?"

"You request a vision of the future, do you?" Cheese Sandwich closed his eyes and began gathering all the focus he could, waiting around for a few moments, before projecting what he was seeing. "Hmm, I can almost see a straight path... one that will be filled with both joy and challenge, much like the perfect blend of sweet and saltiness in my cookies. You will... face a significant event that will shape your destiny, and through it, you shall discover who you truly are."

"Sounds like I've got a lot to look forward to, then." Sunset took another bite of her cookie, feeling a mix of excitement and dread. "I mean, I've got some plans to potentially make some huge, lifechanging decisions soon, so I suppose that means I won't regret whichever path I end up choosing."

"As for our next meeting... oh my." Cheese continued envisioning the future. "I can see us being lost at sea, vicious pirates, vengeful spirits, giant plant monsters... and a volcano's massive eruption! If my Cheesy Sense speaks the truth, then the next time we meet, we'll be fighting for our lives, after being stranded on a desert island!"

Hearing this, Sunset initially had her doubts on the accuracy of this prediction, since she mostly asked out of amusement and curiosity. However, Cheese sounded quite serious about everything, almost on par with his dedication in making fantastic cookies. In other words, if this vision of the future ended up proving to be true, Sunset pondered how exactly she could've let herself end up in such a situation, never mind her reasons for going to a desert island in the first place. Even then, she recalled that this hypothetical scenario of becoming stranded didn't sound too farfetched, especially after what happened on that spring break cruise.

Sunset mostly chalked this up to Cheese Sandwich deliberately coming up with such an absurd prediction, or his personal pitch for an amazing movie. After all, there was just no way this vision would become a reality, especially with all of those dangers that he listed. Although Sunset had already gotten quite used to a number of supernatural occurrences within the Human World, mostly thanks to Equestrian magic and ancient artifacts, this supposed situation just likely wasn't something she could foresee happening in the near future.

"Well, if it means we'll have another adventure like the ones I've had before, I suppose I could deal with that." Sunset giggled. "But hopefully, you're not counting on us to survive on a diet of Cheesy-Dough-Wows, alone!"

"This prediction... it's unlike any that I've tried to envision before." Cheese finally opened his eyes. "I may not know how exactly we'll end up meeting each other again in such a ludicrous situation, but I assure you, Cheesy Sense has never failed me! If it does, and trust me, it won't, I'll surely eat my hat!"

"If you say so, then I'll hold you to that accuracy, Cheese." Sunset said. "I appreciate the cookies and all, but for now, I think we should all get some rest, now that I'm looking at the time. I have a big day tomorrow, and I'm sure you do too, Pinkie."

"Oooh, that's right!" Pinkie recalled what she had promised to do. "Sunset's going on a little road trip, so I agreed to look after her apartment, while she's away. Sunset, you don't mind if I invite Cheese over, do you? I know you said you're comfortable with me having any of the other girls over, but could I hang out with my new party buddy here?"

"Well... I suppose it's fine." Sunset said, as she turned to Cheese. "I can definitely trust Pinkie's judgment, and if she says you're a friend of hers, you're also a friend of mine. Just remember that I'll have some rules and expectations for you to follow, since my road trip will keep me occupied for a while."

"In that case, I'll be sure to treat your place like my cookies, with all the care and respect it deserves!" Cheese winked with enthusiasm. "And don't you worry, I've got a few party tricks up my sleeve that'll help Pinkie and I pass the time around here. In the meantime, I'll be heading out for now, to see if I can brighten anyone else's night with my specialty sweets. Enjoy that box of complimentary cookies, Sunset! It sure was nice meeting you!"

Both Sunset and Pinkie waved goodbye to the cookie and party connoisseur, as he exited the apartment with his wagon. This was certainly an unexpected encounter, especially at such a late hour, but Sunset still preferred meeting someone friendly, rather than inviting the ire of the Canterlot Street Gang into her home. She was admittedly still concerned over that mysterious girl's threats, but figured that if she were to return to Equestria very soon, it would buy herself plenty of time for this gang in question to search all over the city for her whereabouts, only to find nothing. She could only hope that the police would do everything they could to apprehend those troublemakers, and that the graduation at CHS would proceed smoothly.
