It's been three years since the Main Eight were last together and a lot had changed during that short period. They went their separate ways after Sunset, Starlight, and Twilight went to search for the missing equestrian artifacts, while the rest of them, went off to attend different colleges.
The primary purpose of their journey, for anyone who has forgotten, was to search for the missing artifacts from Equestria. It was fun, but also dangerous. The three girls got to experience the sights and wonders of their planet, all the while they searched for the aforementioned artifacts.
Speaking of which, many of the artifacts they searched for, were discovered in odd places during their travels.
From active volcanoes.
To deep underwater caves.
Tourist attractions.
Abandoned mines.
And even a few train yards of all places! Don’t know why, but that’s where a few of them ended up.
But finally, after three long years, the girls completed their search for all of the artifacts. In total, they found almost a hundred artifacts that originated from Equestria. The last one was surprisingly found on the same island the Equestria Girls, minus Starlight got stranded on during their spring break cruise of their senior year of high school. The island was also where they also found a second portal leading to Equestria. Fortunately, when the portal at CHS closed, the one on the island did as well. And the giant plant monster that tried to eat Rainbow Dash was nowhere to be found, likely returned to Equestria when the portal was sealed.
Sunset and Twilight felt a bit of deja vu when they arrived on the island after all these years but were relieved that within their three-year-long journey, they managed to complete their quest on finding the artifacts!
And now, they were on their way back home to Canterlot City. Where their friends and family awaited their return!
It was a beautiful morning down in Canterlot City. It had been almost three years to the day since the Human Five last saw their three friends set off on their journey.
Like before, they were at the Canterlot City Train Station waiting for their arrival.
About an hour goes by and still, there was no sign of a train coming.
The girls were starting to get impatient with themselves, wondering how much longer they had to wait til the train their friends were on, was to arrive.
“Any sign of it?” Asked Pinkie Pie.
“Nothing yet.” Answered Applejack.
“Rainbow Dash, are you sure you got the time right?”
“I’m positive Rarity. I’m sure if we just wait a few more minutes then-”
But before Rainbow Dash could finish, they heard the sound of a six-chime steam whistle in the distance.

And it was getting louder by the minute.
Soon, they could see a train coming down the tracks, with three people waving out of one of the passenger cars.
“There they are!” Shouted Rainbow Dash.
The train slowed down its speed as it entered the station, before letting off steam from its cylinders, until it had come to a complete and safe stop.
Like last time, the train was led by a steam locomotive. But this one was even bigger than 1293! The engine had a 4-8-4 wheel arrangement, commonly known as a northern, bore the number 6325 on its cab, number plate, number boards, and rear end of its tender, along with Grand Trunk Western on the side of its Vanderbilt tender.
After deboarding the train, the three girls were met with a big group hug from their friends.
“Welcome back girls!”
“We’ve missed you!”
“Good to have you back!”
“It hasn’t been the same with you!”
“The gang’s all back together again!”
Sunset felt happier than ever, now being reunited with her family, after being gone from home for the last three years.
They each appeared differently when Sunset last saw them. Herself, Twilight, and Starlight were still in the same attire they had the day they left, but with a bit of wear and tear in a few places. That would certainly make Rarity worried about her fashion sense, but that could wait for later.
Still, it was a happy moment to be excited about, now that the Main Eight are reunited once again!
“It’s good to be home. How have you girls been since we left?” Sunset asked, after separating from the group hug.
“We're doing great Sunset. Other than college, work, and family-related stuff, just about all of us are in a relationship now!” Shared Rainbow Dash.
This made the three girls very curious.
“Really? With who?” Twilight asked.
“Fluttershy and I have been in a relationship for the last eighteen months, and Pinkie Pie and Cheese Sandwich moved in together two years ago. Kinda what you and Twilight did with your relationship.”
“He wanted to come along to greet your return. But, something came up with his schedule at the very last minute. But he sure can’t wait to see you all again!” Shared Pinkie Pie.
“What about Applejack and Rarity?”
“Are you both in a relationship of your own?” Wondered Starlight, finishing Twilight’s question.
“Well, we did give it a shot, not long after you three left.”
“We did develop feelings for each other after the Equestria Land incident.”
“But following a few dates, and spending some time together.”
“We decided we're better off as friends than a couple,” finished Rarity.
“We enjoyed our time together. But, I think we're both better off single. Love just doesn’t seem to be our type. Except for family. Which is how I feel about the rest of you girls,” confessed Applejack.
“And you will always remain my best friend Applejack. I’m glad I got to spend time with you during our short relationship. While it ended on a sour note, it was still worth it.”
“So did I Rarity. So did I,” shared Applejack.
“I’m sorry to hear that… But, congrats to the rest of you. Happy to know you found love while Twilight, Starlight, and I were off traveling the world in search of the remaining equestrian artifacts.”
“And with you three back, does that mean?”
“Yes, Dash. Our planet is one hundred percent free of Equestrian magic. The artifacts are history.”
“Awesome! We knew you girls would do it!”
Just then, a man dressed in a blue cape, came barging out of the passenger car the three girls came out of earlier.
“Sorry for the wait girls, I had to use the bathroom just as we arrived. I knew I shouldn’t have had that burrito earlier.”
“Your fine Sunburst. Nothing to apologize for.”
While they were all happy to be together again, their friends began making weird faces over the guy talking to Starlight.
“Uh, while it’s great you three are back and all, who’s your friend here?” Asked the now curious Applejack.
“Oh jeez, where are my manners? Everyone, I’d like you to meet an old friend of mine. Girls, meet Sunburst.”
“Hi everyone. Starlight has told me a lot about you girls, these last few months I’ve been traveling with them. And boy, am I glad to finally be meeting you all.”
“I still can’t believe it just thinking about it. Even after all these years, you never forgot about me?”
“Why wouldn’t I? You were the first friend I ever had Starlight. Not only did I want to join you and your friends on your journey to help out, but also to find myself a new home.”
“Find a new home?” Fluttershy questioned.
“I was out of a job when I ran into them. They asked me if I wanted to join them on their journey Which I did. Now here I am, with the love of my life, meeting her friends I’ve been told so much about, in this wonderful city.”
“Wait, are you saying? You're… Dating?!?!” Questioned Pinkie Pie, to which Starlight nodded back. This caused Pinkie to set off a burst of joy, as she let off one of her party cannons to celebrate the moment! And before everyone knew it, confetti was covered everywhere one can see throughout the train station. Some even landed in 6325’s tender. The steam crew was sure in for a surprise when they stumbled upon it later that day, wondering where it came from.
While they all were upset at Pinkie for doing it, no one thought about arguing. They were just happy to be reunited with their friends after being separated for nearly three years.
And just like that, they all began laughing at the hilarious moment they had all just witnessed. Not to mention Starlight had found love, after finding her old friend Sunburst. Seems like the future is looking pretty bright.
The following two years found many new changes for the Equestria Girls after Sunset, Starlight, and Twilight returned from their journey.
Sunset and Twilight would enroll themselves in colleges that both resided within Canterlot City, while Starlight went to enroll at CHS. She never got around to finishing school when she was younger. Since she now lived in Canterlot City with her new family, she decided to complete what she missed out on and attend college like her older sister.
And the most surprising thing of all was that Brightfire, father of Sunset and Starlight Shimmer, was in a relationship with Principal Celestia! The siblings were quite surprised to learn their father was dating the principal of CHS of all women, but they didn’t seem to mind one bit. The sisters were just happy their dad managed to find love again, and that Principal Celestia might become their stepmother in the not-too-distant future.

One night, following a busy day at college, Sunset went to pay her family a visit with some exciting news to share. She originally was gonna tell her friends beforehand but decided to let her family know first.
Once she arrived at her dad’s apartment and rang the doorbell, the door opened to reveal her father Brightfire. He was in his mid-fifties now and his hair was starting to go gray in some parts.
Sunset and her friends were all twenty-three years old by now, while Starlight is twenty-two.
Age aside, they were still the same girls we all know and love, just like they were when in high school. And it was very clear to notice by looking at Sunset’s current attire, how much she’s grown.
Sunset’s new look comprised a light blue shirt with white stripes, a purple skirt, a necklace with pictures of herself and Twilight, white socks, red boots, and her hair was in a ponytail with a braid keeping it together. Sunset had learned how to braid hair while they were journeying across the globe and even managed to do it to Twilight’s hair just recently. She enjoyed having her hair in a ponytail more often now, as it kept her hair out of the way. She understood why her friends did it a lot and didn’t see herself returning to her old hair-styling ways. She still has her hair down when not at work or college, and occasionally has it in a bun. She doesn't do it often, but you get the picture.
“Hey Sunset, come on in.”
“Thanks, Dad.”
After entering the apartment, Sunset found her younger sister Starlight at the dinner table working on some homework.
Like Sunset, Starlight herself was in a new outfit she got from Rarity. She wore light purple shoes with dark purple socks, a light purple dress with her cutie mark/emblem on it, an aqua jacket, her hair in a ponytail, and a locket around her neck. Inside were two pictures. One of her family, and her boyfriend Sunburst. It was very similar to the one her sister and Twilight had, but was the two things Starlight cared most about, her family and boyfriend.
“Hey Sunset, how’s it going?”
“Doing great sis. How are things at Canterlot High?”
“Getting better each day.”
“Oh really?”
“Mhm. I’ve gotten a few looks now and then, over the fact I’m in my early twenties, and still attending high school. But Principal Celestia has advised everyone to treat me like their own. And it’s made things much easier. Along with some help from the Crusaders too. It’s a shame they’re all graduating soon. I’m going to miss those girls. But I’m just glad I got to befriend them when I had the chance.”
“That sounds wonderful! Speaking of news, I’ve got some of my own I’d like to share with you both.”
“Really?!?!”
“Yep!”
“Oh, the excitement is killing me. Tell us Sunset!”
“Starlight, don’t overtempt your sister please,” Brightfire replied, as he sat down next to Sunset.
“Sorry, Dad…” Starlight said as she slid down her chair in embarrassment.
“Anyway, what’s the news about?”
“It’s this.”
Sunset brought a small box from her skirt pocket, before opening it to reveal a ring inside.
“A ring? Wait! Are you-”
“I’m gonna ask Twilight to marry me.”
Excitement burst from Brightfire and Starlight, who were celebrating the news Sunset was gonna propose to Twilight.
“I’ve been waiting for this day for so long. And now it’s finally here!” Shared an excited Brightfire.
“Yeah… But, I’m a little scared about doing it.”
That exciting moment soon ended quicker than expected.
“Scared? Why are you scared about proposing to Twilight? You should be happy about this Sunset,” Starlight replied.
“What if she says no?”
Sunset started to feel down about her sudden worry after a celebratory moment. She even began pulling down on her hair in worriedness. Just like Twilight would do, whenever she was nervous or in a state of worry.
But that was when her father decided to confess something of his own about Sunset’s anxiety.
“It’s okay Sunset. I know the feeling.”
“You do?”
“Indeed. I thought of those exact worries before I proposed to your mother.”
“Really?”
A flashback soon began as Brightfire began telling them a story of when he still lived back in Equestria.
“I was scared just like you. I was going to make a big decision that would forever change my life. And I wasn’t so sure I was ready for it.”
“How’d you do it?”
“Simple. I went to my parent's house and talked it over with my father. He gave me some advice from his own experience. He showed me some breathing exercises to help if I panic, and to not rush it when it happens. And when the day came I proposed to your mother, she said yes.
End of flashback.
“While she is no longer with us, she was still a big part of my life for the next twenty-two years. If I was able to do it, I’m sure you can too Sunset.”
The pep talk ended up helping Sunset just like Brightfire had hoped for. And before he knew it, a smile formed on her face.
“Thanks, Dad.”
After a good minute of silence and a hug exchange, Starlight decided to speak up after listening to their pep talk.
“So, when do you plan on proposing to Twilight?”
“This Friday. Twilight’s been so focused on college the last two years she doesn't seem to catch a break. For a while, she has been wanting a stress-free night from her studies. We haven’t had the time to go out that much since we returned from our journey. We’ve put all our focus into college since we began almost two years ago. We still find time to go out every once and a while. But we’d just go back to working soon after…”
“Wow. Sounds stressful alright,” commented Starlight.
“Fast forward a bit to last week, I made a promise to her I’d take her out on a date after we complete our finals this Friday. Summer is just around the corner, and I say we deserve a break. And I’m using it as an excuse to propose to her.”
“That sounds wonderful Sunset. I’m not sure how Twilight will react, but I know that sooner than later, Twilight will be your wife and my daughter-in-law.”
“And my sister-in-law too!” Shared Starlight.
Sunset took the next moment to relieve herself of the decision she would make a few days from now. Feeling a sign of joy that her family had their full support with the engagement.
“Thanks, guys. You’re the best.”
“That’s what family is for Sunset,” Brightfire replied, as he ruffled Sunset’s hair.
“So, for the time being, can you two keep this a secret? Please?”
“My lips are sealed.”
“Your secret is safe with me Sunset,” Starlight replied, before winking back at her.
“Thanks. I’m going to tell my friends about it tomorrow so they know about it. All that leaves is to get through the week to Friday. And I already know it’ll be just fine.”
After sharing the news with her family, Sunset spent the remainder of the evening with her family before going back home to have dinner with Twilight to get ready for their next day of college finals.
After three days of finals to study for and keeping her secret safe from Twilight, Friday was finally here! Sunset was looking forward to her night out with Twilight, as she had been planning this special day for months now, and the time had finally come!
Since today was going to be a big one for her, she decided to stop at the local spa after finishing her last college final, to get ready for her special night.
Like in the past, she met up with the spa’s owners Aloe and Lotus. It had been a long time since she’s seen them both and it felt great to be seeing some old friends again.
They shared a quick conversation while Sunset got the typical spa treatment Rarity suggested she’d get whenever she visited. It brought back many great memories Sunset made back when she was a student at CHS. She also forgot how relaxing it was. She was already making plans for another visit in the future, but this time, with her girlfriend.
After leaving the spa, Sunset went home to get everything ready for the big night. Insert big night song from the first Equestria Girls movie. She made sure the dinner reservations were filled out, figured out what she’d wear, and find the perfect place she’d propose to Twilight.
But that’s where a problem came up.
She had no idea what place felt special to them. Sunset had no idea where that place would be and if she’d get it done in time!
However, as she looked at a nearby clock, she had a little over an hour before Twilight was to arrive home. Sunset’s classes started two hours before Twilight’s, as her classes started a little after eleven am. So, she used that time wisely to find the perfect place to do the proposal and found precisely what she was looking for.
She was both nervous and excited, nervicitedas Pinkie would put it to how Twilight would react when she showed off the engagement ring.
She hoped that after she show it to Twilight, she would accept her as her wife.
But she had a little more to go before that moment would become a reality and her blood was boiling with excitement just thinking about it.
Everything was going to plan just like Sunset had wanted, and it was getting close to the special moment she had been waiting for!
As mentioned earlier Sunset, and later Twilight, opted to change clothes for their date that night. They didn’t go for anything fancy this time like their past dates with dresses, heels, and sometimes jewelry. Instead, they adored long-sleeved shirts and pants. While it was summer, the nights in Canterlot City can often be very cold. Twilight also had the braid in her hair that Sunset had done for her not too long ago. She was never a big fan of braids when she was younger, but after Sunset did it for her, she began having second thoughts about it.
Whenever you see Twilight these days out in public, she’d be sporting a black and red vest, a light orange t-shirt, a skirt once owned by Sunset, purple shoes, and her hair was down compared to her signature ponytail.
Now for anyone questioning why the girls are wearing the opposite colors from what were used to seeing except for their shoes, there’s a reason behind it.
The story goes that not long after they arrived home their friends held a sleepover for them. During it, they had a game of truth or dare. Rainbow Dash dared them to go a one week wearing each other's colors or else they had to get her tickets for a sold-out event around Daring Do. Not wanting to lose, Sunset wore light blue and purple, and Twilight wore red, orange, and black the next week. While they were only supposed to do it for seven days, they ended up keeping their appearances that way. Mainly to show how much they love each other, and because they liked it, thinking it suited them more than they originally thought. Plus, sometimes making a change sometimes next hurts in the end.
Twilight can still be found sometimes wearing the locket Sunset gave her, but only for special occasions, just like the date she was currency on with her girlfriend.
“Thanks again for taking me out Sunset. We haven’t done one of these in a very long time.”
“Yeah, these last five years have been busy for us. We spent the first three traveling the world with Starlight for the remaining Equestrian artifacts on earth.”
“And the last two here in Canterlot City for college.”
“Does it feel weird that we did that?”
“What do you mean?”
“You know. We decided to travel the world in search of those artifacts and not start college after graduating high school?”
“A little. But I don’t regret a single moment of it.”
“Me too.”
They were on their way to the next stop following dinner to the place Sunset wanted to propose to Twilight. Their dinner that evening was at their favorite restaurant in Canterlot City by the name of Yong Bao’s Chinese food. The place had changed a bit since they returned home, but still had great food, and the people were kind as ever. Like their past visits, the girls got their usual dishes. Sunset got sesame tofu, while Twilight got general tso chicken. Sunset is no longer a vegetarian as she’s come to enjoy human cuisine, meat included. But tofu is something she happened to adore after trying it when she was a vegetarian. But she only prefers having it with sesame, on its own, it tastes very bland.
At this point, Twilight was getting curious as to where Sunset was taking her after enjoying a good meal at the Chinese restaurant.
She was told they were heading somewhere special after dinner, where a surprise was waiting for her.
“Was there a reason you wanted to take me out following our exams Sunset?”
“Why do you ask?”
“Just wondering is all. I was expecting something different this time around. Kinda like what you did for our sixth dating anniversary a few weeks ago.”
For their aforementioned sixth dating anniversary, they spent a weekend before their college finals at the very place they first developed feelings for each other.
Camp Everfree.
The camp is still open today deep within the Everfree forest. Gloriosa, alongside her younger brother Timber, have continued to run the camp into their late twenties fulfilling their grandparent’s legacy. The girls were hoping to make another visit in the future, but with the rest of their friends and Spike.
“Well, you’ll be getting something different alright.”
“Really! What is it?”
“I can’t tell you. I’d be ruining the surprise.”
“Fine… Just how much longer?”
“Another few minutes. We're almost there.”
The place Sunset had selected to do her proposal to Twilight was at the local park in downtown Canterlot City. Which was also where they’d be doing their monthly stargazing.
When they returned from their journey, Sunset and Twilight decided on the third Friday of every month, they’d go out stargazing at popular locations throughout the city.
This time, they were doing it at the park in Canterlot City. Sunset heard lots of reviews online that it was a perfect place to go stargazing anything of the year.
While the park isn’t the place she spent a lot of time with Twilight or felt special to them both, that’s what she went with at the last minute.
After parking, they made their way to the center of the park and found a good spot to stargaze. Twilight thought the stargazing was the surprise but Sunset said it wasn’t, making her feel disappointed.
But to cheer her, Sunset had made a Strawberry Shortcake for their date and packed two slices they enjoyed while stargazing. This also explains why they didn’t get dessert at the Chinese restaurant. Still, the cake made Twilight feel better as Strawberry Shortcake was her favorite.
After consuming their slices of cake, Twilight was getting impatient with herself about the surprise. She was always patient with surprises when she was younger, but the ones from Sunset meant a lot to her.
“Can you tell me what the surprise is now, Sunset? Please? The suspense is killing me!”
Sunset left off a chuckle after hearing her girlfriend complain. She knew Twilight couldn’t help herself but thought it was hilarious. She was waiting for the perfect moment to do it, and that moment was now.
“I thought you’d never ask Twilight.”
Sunset grabbed the box with the engagement ring from her purse but hid it behind her back. She wanted to tell Twilight something important before she’d say those three special words. This was a moment she wanted to enjoy while it lasted. This was a one-time event she’d like to enjoy.
“Since I first met you at the Friendship Games, you have become one of my closest and best friends Twilight. While we weren’t on good terms until after you transferred, I was very fortunate to meet you. After we began dating following the Memory Stone incident, I realized how special you are to me. And just like you told me during our senior year cruise and our battle against Cinch, I wouldn’t want to trade you for anything in the world. In any world. Like what you’d do for me.”
This made Twilight blush at her words.
“Oh, Sunset.”
“During that time, I got to know more about you, meet your family, and even explore the world with you and my newly adopted sister Starlight. I realized this was what I’ve always wanted in my life. But there’s one more thing I want to make it even better.”
Sunset revealed the box from behind her back, as she opened it up, revealing the ring to Twilight.
“Twilight Sparkle, will you marry me?”
Twilight was at a loss for words. She didn’t know what to say as she looked down at the ring before her. She began crying tears of joy. That was when she realized this was the surprise Sunset was talking about. And she knew exactly what to say back.
“Yes. Yes, of course! I’ll marry you Sunset!”
That made Sunset feel the most joy she’d felt in years, as she hugged Twilight back in pure happiness!
She then proceeded to take the ring out of the box and place it on Twilight’s ring finger.
“Well? Do you like it?”
Twilight admired the engagement ring on her finger, taking in all its glory. She’d been waiting for this day for a very long time, and today it finally happened.
“It’s beautiful. Now, we can spend the rest of our lives together.”
“Yes, we can Twilight.”
“I still can’t believe it. It’s really happening! Thank you Sunset. This is the best surprise ever!”
“I’d do anything for you Twilight. I love you.”
“I love you too Sunset.”
And so, the newly engaged couple would spend the remainder of that night stargazing together, before sharing the big news with their friends and family.
And plans for their wedding were to begin, as soon, as possible.
For the remainder of that summer, the Equestria Girls spent a good portion of their time planning out the wedding.
They had to figure out where the wedding was to be held, who was to be invited, who’d be doing the food, and lots more.
But finally, after hundreds of hours of preparations, the big day was here!
The wedding was to be held at Sweet Apple Acres on the far side of Canterlot City that August. Applejack’s family was more than grateful to let them have their wedding at their farm. This would also make the third Wedding to be held at their farm in the history of Sweet Apple Acres.
The preparations would be split off between their friends, so Sunset and Twilight wouldn’t overstress themselves.
Applejack and Pinkie Pie would be in charge of the food, Rarity would design their dresses, and Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash got the needed tables and chairs, leaving Sunset and Twilight with the guest list.
It was a lot of work to do following their second semester of college, but everything was done in time for the big day!

As the clock ticked slowly, Sunset was already feeling nervous. The wedding was just about to begin, and she had gotten cold feet.
She knew there was nothing to worry about, as she had her friends and family help every step of the way for this day.
Speaking of her friends, they were all selected to be her bridesmaids for the wedding. And Starlight was chosen to be Sunset’s best woman.
The clock soon struck eleven a.m. and the wedding was now off and rolling!
Twilight could be seen at the end of the alleyway with her father Night Light in tow. She looked beautiful in her wedding dress. Rarity had improved her clothes-making skills these last few years, and it sure paid off for this moment.
Unlikely a normal wedding would go, Sunset and Twilight mixed things up a bit and wore their wedding dresses in their suited colors.
Sunset wore a sleeveless red and pink dress with yellow lining all over it, had her hair done in a ponytail, with a braid on the left side of her hair, red slippers, and a piece of jewelry on top of her left arm.
Twilight’s dress was light blue, with a pink ribbon tied around her waist, a blue choker around her neck, two blue bracelets on her wrists, light purple slippers, and her cutie mark/emblem beret in her hair. She didn’t feel like wearing a veil as she thought they were dumb. She especially just wanted to wear her favorite beret and nothing else in her hair.
The pianist proceeded to play the classic song ‘Here comes the bride’ as everyone stood up to watch.
Twilight walked slowly towards Sunset with her father by her side while keeping a hold of the bouquet she carried before the brides were eye to eye.
They smiled at one another, admiring how beautiful they were in their wedding dresses. With time getting closer and closer, their friends and families just couldn’t hold in their excitement. And soon, it was the priest’s turn to begin his part.
“Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to celebrate the marriage between Sunset Shimmer and Twilight Sparkle. The love they share has been an important part of their lives for many years now, and they are more than ready to start the next chapter of their lives, as a married couple.”
He soon began explaining how the marriage works, to both the adjacent brides.
“Twilight, do you take this woman as your lawfully wedded wife? To live with matrimony, love, honor, comfort, and keep her in sickness and health, forsaking all others, for as long as you both shall live?”
“I do.”
“And Sunset, do you take this woman as your lawfully wedded wife? To live with matrimony, love, honor, comfort, and keep her in sickness and health, forsaking all others, for as long as you both shall live?”
“I do.”
“Excellent. Now then, repeat after me.”
The priest goes on to explain their exchange promises as they raise their hands equivalently before it’s officially complete.
“Very well. May we have the rings?”
The ring bearer, six-year-old Flurry Heart, came in with the wedding rings.
With the rings now in hand, Sunset and Twilight each placed them on their respective ring fingers, before looking back at the priest.
“And so, by the virtue of the authority vested in me, I now pronounce you wife and wife. You may now kiss.”
Sunset immediately pulls Twilight into a deep kiss, wrapping her arm around her waist as Twilight’s hand graced her cheek as she was tilted backward slightly before they shared their first kiss after officially getting married.
They broke apart soon after to come to face the crowd going wild!
The guests such as their friends, Brightfire, Twilight’s parents, and even Spike were crying tears of joy that they were officially married!
Sunset proceeded to take a hold of Twilight’s hand, now smiling at her newly wedded wife as they walked down the alleyway together.
Twilight made sure to throw the bouquet for a lucky someone to catch and it was caught by none other than Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy. Looks like those two will be having their wedding next.
Whatever was coming next, Sunset and Twilight knew that with their unbreakable love, they’ll manage to pull through it, together!
As the years went on, lots more change came than expected after Sunset and Twilight’s wedding.
They’d graduate from college in their mid to late twenties and move out of the apartment they’d been living in since the second half of their senior year of high school.
The bills and insurance for the apartment had been going up rapidly, and the girls had been thinking of possibly moving for some time now. Which they did in the end.
But with change, comes tough moments.
Sunset was sad to be leaving the apartment by the time they had officially moved out. She had spent the last decade living in it, even before she was shown the importance of friendship and long before Twilight and Spike moved in. It had been the place she called home for many years now and she was very sad to be saying goodbye to it.
But what mattered now was she’d be starting a new chapter of her life, with her wife, when moving into their new home.
Their new home was a two-story house with a big backyard, a swimming pool, seating area with a grill and a gazebo, a big kitchen, living room, many different rooms that would have a future purpose, a basement, and an attic, where they’d live for many years to come.
Then the exciting day came, just a few months following their second wedding anniversary, when Sunset learned Twilight was pregnant with a baby girl.
When the day arrived, they met their daughter, whom they’d named Sparkling Sapphire.
Many were curious as to why they gave their daughter that name, as it made people very confused and scratching their heads.
The reason goes back to their first visit to Camp Everfree when they were both assigned the Sapphire tent.
The time they spent at Camp Everfree, was something they thought would be a good reminder to remember the memory when deciding on a name for their daughter.
They were very happy they had a beautiful and healthy baby girl, that they’d take care of as the good parents they turned out to be.
There’d be several more weddings to be held for the rest of our girls as they’re still a big part of this story, so it would make perfect sense to mention them.
There were weddings for Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy not surprised theirs would be next, Pinkie Pie and Cheese Sandwich, Starlight Shimmer and Sunburst, and lastly, Brightfire Shimmer and Principal Celestia, who both got married months before Celestia retired as Principal of Canterlot High after working nearly thirty years at CHS.
The girls each had their children, expanding their families in the following years. All of whom became good friends. Even Starlight and Sunburst had a child named Luster Dawn. However, unlike the rest of their children they all had, Luster showed signs she didn’t want to accept friendship during her childhood. Just like Sunset and Twilight did when they were teenagers. But after Luster was shown the importance friendship had to offer, she realized the tragic mistake she’d made. Thinking that friendship didn’t matter in life turned out to be one of the worst mistakes she’d ever made in her life. Thankfully, her new friends were able to help her with the importance of friendship. Like how their parents did when they were younger. They even sang a song together about what it means to be friends.
How were they able to know the lyrics? I don’t know, I’m just the narrator.
Aside from the very impressive song, there was still one thing that remained the same for the Equestria Girls.
Their friendship.
They still find the time to come together several times a year, mainly on holidays and occasional get-togethers.
And every time it came around, they’d make many great memories to cherish for life.
Now you may be wondering yourselves, what else has happened to the Equestria Girls after college, getting married, and raising a family?
Twilight would land herself a job as a Science Teacher at her old school Crystal Prep Academy. While the school did still give her many bad memories of her time there as a student, her sister-in-law Cadance, aka the Vice Principal now, had been looking for a new science teacher to replace their last one who had recently retired. So, during a recent night out they had together like old times, she asked Twilight if she was willing to give it a shot. Twilight had mixed feelings going through her mind when asked if she wanted to be a teacher there. CPA was the place she didn’t have many friends and spent all her time alone in a separate room with Spike from everyone else. But she ended up giving it a try, as she was very interested in it. Plus, her counterpart did run a school for a short time so she thought why not. So, after spending a full week of teaching science to the students of Crystal Prep, she ended up keeping the job! Being a teacher wasn’t what Twilight expected to have a career in, but was glad she got to. Teaching students the many wonders and advances of her favorite subject was something she always enjoyed doing, even to her friends back in high school. If Princess Twilight saw her now, she’d be very proud of her counterpart’s accomplishment. And that she even faced her fears at the one place she once disliked.
Sunset followed in her mother-in-law’s footsteps and became an author. She wrote many books about the adventures she had in high school, her journey around the world minus the search for the missing equestrian artifacts, and even a bit about her old home of Equestria. The books became a huge success, making Sunset a well-known author in Canterlot City. It even made Twilight Velvet jealous. But at the same time proud, knowing that she learned a lot thanks to her own experience, and is now a well-known author in their city.
Rainbow Dash became a soccer player for the Canterlot Pegasus, a well-known soccer team in Canterlot City. She was later promoted and became a coach for the team. She loves her job training and cheering on her teammates for the many big games they go and attend. I mean, soccer was her favorite of all sports, so it makes perfect sense she’d get this dream of hers.
Fluttershy is a veterinarian, helping animals with the kindness she brings with her. Helping critters and other animals find new homes and people who’d love them. There were many tough times to go through as a veterinarian, however, that Fluttershy simply wasn’t prepared for. There were many serious injuries to deal with, one of which involved a dog eating rocks, sharing bad news with the pet owners, and worse case, passings. That one would always make Fluttershy emotional whenever it occurred. But she still enjoyed her job, knowing she was helping animals in need of help. Especially with the many new animal shelters, she helped open throughout their state.
Applejack continues her work at Sweet Apple Acres with her brother Big Mac, sister-in-law Sugar Belle and grandmother Granny Smith. As for her younger sister Apple Bloom, she moved out after graduating from CHS and moved into with her friends for college and are now teachers at CHS. No matter how old our southern girl got, Applejack would always be found on the very farm that’s been in her family for generations. Picking and selling their delicious apple and other products they sold. She’d never get tired of it, which is a true sign of how much she takes pride in her family’s farm and business.
Rarity is a fashion designer, continuing to make clothes like she’s been doing since she was a little girl. She’d open many more boutiques in Canterlot City, and across the country, with hopes of going internationally. Many people find her designs stunting many times the year, simply finding them just out of this world!
Neither of the girls sadly ever got the chance to find love like the rest of their friends, but are happy with the way their lives currently are going. And that was all they ever wanted.
Pinkie Pie opened up her bakery called Sugarlicious Treats and Goodies, which became a hot spot to get fresh cakes, cookies, and other desserts made daily. And believe it or not, her bakery would become a huge success, earning her many different rewards for her outstanding skills. One of which includes how much butter she’d use for cookies. And trust me, it's a lot! Pinkie also has a second job she does when not working at her bakery as a part-time party planner, being hired for birthday parties and special events, making her partying skills like there was no end to it!
Starlight is CHS's newest Vice Principal, working alongside Luna, who took over as Principal after her sister retired. Starlight got approved for the job to make the future of CHS, just like how her friends and sister experienced using the magic of friendship! And she did, making it just as great as the school once was, learning it from the best of the best!
Brightfire retired from his job as a researcher to spend his retirement days with Celestia. It took a long time for him to get adjusted to the fact he was married to the human counterpart of Celestia. He knew her counterpart back when he lived in Equestria. But he still loved her and was happy he found someone he’d spend the rest of his days with. And that his daughters accepted Celestia as their stepmother, but would always treat her as their actual mother.

As you can see, their lives have been going tremendously in their ways.
They’re just different compared to how it was when they were still students of Canterlot High.
Change can often be hard for all of us, but with help from those you care about and trust, things will get better with time.
Now, I bet some of you are asking yourselves while we’re talking about change. Whatever happened to Cinch? What did she go through following her loss at the girl’s graduation?
Following her arrest, she confessed everything she did about sabotaging the graduation. And straight on getting her revenge on the Equestria Girls with her team, in the form of the Sirens and Sunset’s human counterpart.
Many investigators found what she shared very odd and wondered if she was making it all up, or possibly a lunatic.
She was found guilty of her crimes of attacking the school’s graduation, damage caused to the school and charged with four counts of child abuse. Why child abuse? Well when she brought them under her roof, she treated the four girls horribly! Especially with her plans to get revenge at the Equestria Girl’s graduation and use their powers against them. Which of course, failed in the end.
For the next five years, she’d be behind bars in jail, before getting released after spending her time. Nobody knows what happened to her following her release, but let’s hope wherever she is, she learned a valuable lesson, about the chaos she did with Equestrian magic!
Now, why don’t we get back and see how everyone else is doing shall we?
But this is where things are about to get dark, sad, and depressing…
A few years after Big Mac and Sugar Belle had their son Big Sugar, Granny Smith got diagnosed with Alzheimer's. Many visits were made to see many different doctors to try and help her, but it would just get worse with time. Granny Smith died peacefully in her sleep, just a few months before Big Sugar’s fourteenth birthday, at the age of eighty-seven.
It took a long time than some might expect for the family to get over their loss. Granny Smith had been a big part of their lives, especially since they lost their parents when they were children. While their grandmother was sadly gone, they were going to ensure to continue on the legacy she left behind them, promising to make her proud.
And not long after the funeral, they were given a plaque from Mayor Mare, that would be placed on their family barn, in memory of their grandmother.

Then about a month after Sapphire’s third birthday, Spike passed away from old age. His health had started to dwindle over the last few years, and it was finally his time to leave this world behind him. He had surprisingly lived a few years longer than many expected, as his breed normally lived between twelve to fifteen years of age. But Spike managed to live till he was eighteen years old, likelybecause of Fluttershy’s magic. It even got him into the genius book of world records as one of the oldest dogs in existence.
It hurt the most for Twilight when Spike passed away. He was a big part of her life. He was her lab assistant and beloved pet she raised from the very first day they met.
She found him abandoned in an alleyway one day while coming home from the library. He was only a few weeks old at the time and looked to be in dire need of help. Twilight took him in and her family ended up adopting him, becoming a part of her family.
It was a rough time to go through, but Sunset, Sapphire, and their friends were able to help Twilight get past it.
Spike was sadly gone, but the memories they made with him would remain inside their hearts forever.

A few days following Spike’s passing, Sunset got her hands on something extraordinary that would help brighten Twilight’s, broken heart.
A puppy!
While in college, Sunset befriended a dog breeder who specialized in welsh corgis. And around that same time, several puppies were looking for new homes.
Sunset was lucky enough to adopt one and surprise Twilight that night after work.
They named the dog Gatsby, after Twilight’s favorite book, “The Great Gatsby.” And in a little over a week, Twilight had gotten along with Gatsby, becoming good friends in that short amount of time. Sunset was glad she was able to cure her wife’s broken heart with Gatsby. And the smile he’d give would always bring a smile to someone’s face.
As for Sunset’s pets Ray and Owlowiscious, they both lived good lives and are now in a better place with Spike.
It’s always sad when losing a beloved pet, but they always won’t be there for you in our life. So, it’s best to enjoy the time you have with them when it lasts. It’ll not only mean a lot to yourself but to your pet as well.
The girls didn’t forget about Equestria into their adult years, as they stayed in contact with Princess Twilight following the portal’s closure, keeping up to date on how things were going.
During those first few years, they’d learn the Sirens and her counterpart were making outstanding progress in learning the important values of friendship.
After making many friends, and traveling to many parts of Equestria, Sunny moved to the Crystal Empire. Becoming their new crystallizer for Princess Flurry Heart, who had just started preschool around that same time and had already made many new friends.
As for the Sirens, well that’s where things get odd.
Very odd…ish.
When coming out of the portal after being gone for over a millennium, they discovered they were no longer Sirens! Instead, they were earth ponies now!
They wondered for a long time if they’d have their old bodies after their pendants were destroyed if they returned home, but it seemed like the portal decided to make them ponies since their old bodies no longer existed. The sisters had mixed feelings when they made the discovery and even panicked over the change.
It took lots of time for them to get adjusted to their new bodies while learning friendship as they got a hang of their new forms.
But the best part of this was they didn’t have to worry about any magic problems from them. Which made Princess Twilight and Sunset feel a sign of relief.
The former Sirens eventually became teachers at the School of Friendship before going off on their paths to fulfill their dreams.
Sonata opened up a taco stand in Canterlot as Equestria surprisingly didn’t have a lot of taco places to offer. Because of this, Sonata decided to open one herself in its capital. Many ponies and other creatures of Equestria love her tacos for how cheap they are and the good prices, even if some of them had weird names and toppings. Those facts aside they were still outstandingly delicious.
Aria became a model for fashion designers and can often be found traveling from place to place throughout Equestria. She wasn’t all that fond of fashion when she returned to her home world, but figured if she enjoyed it as a human, it makes perfect sense she’d like it as an earth pony. She even became close friends with Rarity and has modeled some of her designs on occasion.
And what about Adagio you ask? She went searching for a job before moving to the Crystal Empire. One day, she ran into Sunny, the very pony she had mixed feelings about as she once did for Sunset Shimmer. But unlike what Sunset and her friends did that Adagio hated, things were different after getting to know her counterpart. After spending a lot of time together, they fell in love and began dating. After a year goes by they moved back to Ponyville where Sunny became a teacher at the school of friendship, while Adagio can be found working at a local flower shop.
The Crystal Empire will always be a great place in Equestria, but Ponyville has something special about it you just have to experience for yourself. After Princess Twilight showed it to them, they felt at home in the town compared to other places in Equestria.
They'd eventually get married and have a daughter named Twinkle Topaz, who was found to be part unicorn and siren! While Adagio was no longer a siren, she somehow still had it in her DNA. She was able to tell her daughter everything about them when she became of age and made sure she didn’t go down the same dark path she and her sisters once did, leading to their banishment. Fortunately, it all worked out and their daughter became a good little filly and an important part of their lives.
As mentioned before, there were plans to reopen the portal connecting Earth with Equestria.
But those plans sadly never came to fruition.
After the events of their worlds merging during the Equestria Girl’s high school graduation, Princess Twilight didn’t want to risk having another magic leakage into their world, as it caused a lot of chaos the first time around.
While it was unfortunate, it was for the better.
Then one day, Princess Twilight mysteriously stopped writing to Sunset, with no exclamation why?
Sunset worried for a while why the princess stopped writing to her, wondering if she was the possible reason the princess stopped answering her messages, or if she had lost the time to write to her.
Sunset would never find out, but hoped wherever happened, Princess Twilight hadn’t forgotten about them, where she might be...
But that’s not related to our story at all. And many of us already know the answer as to what happened to Princess Twilight and the Equestria we know.
Sunset never would have guessed that Princess Twilight’s human counterpart, who once drove her insane when they first met, would become the woman she loved most in the world.
She guessed life worked in mysterious ways, and not to judge what comes her way.
There was nothing that would ever replace the love they had, as no matter what Sunset and Twilight went through, they always knew that their unbreakable bond would last forever.
There were hard times Sunset faced well into her life but pulled through with the help of her family.
She never regretted that moment at her high school graduation when she let go of her past guilt. All it did was make things much easier in her life, and give her the future she’s always wanted.
She doesn’t know what more will come tomorrow, but all she would need is the magic of friendship and her family, so the legacy of their friendship can continue for as long as possible, carrying on through the ages.
And like her father used to tell her ‘yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift. That is why it is called the present.’
Their lives wouldn’t be the way if it wasn’t for Princess Twilight. It’ll always be something very special they worshiped, commemorating what she left behind. What she did, not only changed the way friendship was on planet earth, but the Equestria Girl's connection they share.
Planet earth’s friendship is more powerful than ever now, but some wonder every now and then if it’ll always be there. Well, that answer is simple. As long as people remember what happened during the early days of its growth, friendship will never show signs of disappearing.
The girl's time in high school has long since ended, but are all still best friends, no matter how much time goes on.
There ain’t no bad guy or monster that’ll ever change that. That’s what’s important and why they’ll always be the best of friends!
On days like today, it's hard to find any negativity with many new friendships expanding worldwide. It’ll be up to future generations to keep it alive, no matter where it might take them.
Which is something only you can do!
That would be helping both yourself and the Equestria Girls.
And will certainly make them very proud.
“Don’t you agree Mr. Narrator? Or Evan, I should say?”
Yes, I do Sunset. I always appreciate the stuff you have to offer. You are my favorite Equestria Girl after all.

Well everyone, there you have it. My take on how I would've liked Equestria Girls to end. I've spent the last few months working hard on this chapter, and in the end, it was worth it, especially with how long it turned out to be as I wanted it to be a big one to end off the SciSet Chronicles. But at the same time, this marks the end of my time as a fimfiction writer, as I'll now be retiring to focus on my future. I never intended to do this for a living, just to make a timeline of Eqg with my favorite ship added to it and I'm glad I fulfilled it. While I may be retiring as a writer on fimfiction, I'll still be active on this site reading fimfiction stories, responding to messages, comments, and questions on my stories, and more. I honestly don't know when I'll leave this site as I've come attached to this site since 2019. I hope you all enjoyed this story, and make sure to like and comment on how much you liked it. And before I go, I just want to thank everyone who's read my stories, my editor Echo Breeze for all the time she's spent editing my stories, and to the many great friends, I've met her. While my time here as a writer is done, it's not over. I find it very rare I'll possibly come back and do more stories as I was struggling a bit with ideas and such the last year. Mainly because of college, my family, my life, and more. But I find the chances so, please, don't go asking me via private dm's on it, ok? And to end this Author's note off, let's end with 1 final song. And this one imo would be a good song to end off my Eqg stories.
