A Golden Opportunity
Prologue
Load Full StoryNext ChapterSpike and Gabby had been hanging out for a while now, despite Rarity being extremely selfish and craving Spike's attention the second she didn't have it anymore, they remained very good friends and hung out with each other constantly. They had plenty of common interests, though there was always a slight hint that it could go further than a simple close friendship, the problem was that they were both too awkward to even suggest that option whenever they got the chance, not to mention that they didn't know how courting a mate worked in each other's cultures or even if either species would accept what would likely be the first romantic relationship between a dragon and a griffon. Part of the reason that Spike didn't make a move was because, in dragon culture at least, he was considered too young to engage in any kind of loving or lustful desires that he may have had regardless of who he was into, Gabby didn't make a move mainly because she wasn't confident that Spike liked her that way and was worried that if she asked him out and it didn't go well, then the friendship would suffer.
The other reason Spike didn't make a move was because Twilight had specifically told him not to have sex before marriage because she didn't want to have to deal with whatever babies a young horny dragon might produce if he decided to have some casual sex with whomever was up for it, not aware of what species other than dragons he might genetically compatible with. The main other reason Gabby didn't make was because... well, although she never showed it, she was a massive closet slut and happened to have a thing for adorable and naive barely legal boys, boxes which Spike ticked very nicely. Sooner or later however, all they needed was a golden opportunity... quite literally!
