Please feel free to comment and give advice and suggestions. Enjoy :) Chapter 1 Part 1 (Rewritten) I was in the rail yard, searching for my newly assigned train. V200-345, nope. V200-543, nope. And then there it was, V200-454. I had found my train. This wasn't just any train. It was the mighty Taigatrommel, the V200-454. My favorite train of all. A diesel-electric locomotive, generating its own electricity to power its six powerful electric traction motors. Its sleek, dark red paint, three headlights, and two windows on each side were a familiar sight. The locomotive's top speed was a hundred kilometers an hour. I climbed the small ladder and unlocked the door with my keys. Stepping inside, I dropped my belongings behind my seat and began the safety check. After verifying the oil and fuel levels, I pressed the button to start the diesel engine. The engine roared to life, a satisfying symphony to my ears. Sitting in the driver's seat, I set the Taigatrommel in motion. As I drove the train out of the railyard, I set the speed to stage five. The sky darkened, and a heavy rain began to fall. I turned on the windshield wipers to see clearly. Ahead, I saw a tunnel. As the train entered, I blasted the horn. The last thing I saw was a blinding light. I awoke with a throbbing headache. Looking around, I tried to sit up but fell back onto the cold, hard metal floor. "That's strange. Why can't I get up?" I muttered. I tried to reach for the driver's seat but realized something was terribly wrong. My hands were hooves! I panicked. After calming down, I examined my new body. Four legs, light blue fur, a mane, a tail, and... bat wings? My hearing was incredibly sensitive, and I could see in the dark. I could hear and see things I hadn't been able to before. I searched through my belongings for my phone and used the camera as a mirror. I jumped back in shock when I saw my face. Green cat eyes, a muzzle, fangs, and fluffy ears. After regaining my composure, I looked out the front window. My train was parked in an unfamiliar forest. The forest was creepy and unsettling, and I wanted to get out. I walked to the engine room to check the systems. The oil and fuel levels were full. I sat in the driver's seat and pressed the start button. The engine roared to life, but the noise was unbearable to my now-sensitive ears. I set the speed to stage five, and the Taigatrommel lurched forward. As the Taigatrommel rolled down the tracks at a hundred kilometers an hour, the animals and creatures in the forest scattered in fear. I turned off the headlights as we exited the dark, eerie forest. Suddenly, I saw six pastel-colored ponies being chased by a wooden wolf. The ponies were terrified, and I knew I had to help. I put the train in neutral and applied the brakes. I blasted the horn to warn the ponies. They moved out of the way, and I accelerated again. The train hit the wooden wolf, crushing it with its immense weight. I turned off the engine and opened the door. The six ponies looked at me in awe. A blue blur tackled me to the ground. "Who are you, and what is that big red thing?" asked Rainbow Dash. "Rainbow, stop!" said Twilight Sparkle. "Let him answer. He saved our lives." Rainbow Dash released me, and I stood up. "My name is Max Hanes, and I'm a train driver," I said. "My friends call me Twilight. These ponies are my friends Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Rarity, Fluttershy, and Applejack," Twilight introduced. "Nice to meet you all," I replied. "That large metal contraption is absolutely hideous," Rarity said. "Don't worry, Rarity. It hasn't been cleaned in a while," I assured her. "Max, I was wondering what kind of train it is," Twilight asked. "This is a diesel-electric locomotive. It's the most powerful in its class. It got its nickname 'Taigatrommel' because it doesn't have a silencer installed. Its original number is V200-454." "What is a diesel-electric?" Twilight asked. Before I could answer, we all jumped as a loud howl echoed through the forest. "To the train!" I shouted. All seven of us scrambled aboard the Taigatrommel. To be continued...
Chapter 2View OnlineA Taigatrommel in EquestriaChapter 2As the six ponies filed into the Taigatrommel, I closed the door and prepared to start the engine. They watched me sit in the driver's seat and press a button. As I pressed the start button, they noticed a small noise coming from the engine. Fifteen seconds later, the engine roared to life, producing a constant rumbling sound. The Taigatrommel lurched forward, and I released the air brakes and set the speed to stage three. The ponies inside were astonished and impressed. "Um, Twilight, where should I stop?" I asked her. "You can stop at the Ponyville train station," Twilight replied. "Okay," I said. "Hey, Max, how fast can this go?" Rainbow Dash asked. "Its top speed is one hundred kilometers an hour or sixty-two miles per hour," I said. "Pfff, sixty-two miles per hour? That's still slow," Rainbow Dash scoffed. "This train was designed to pull heavy loads rather than speed, Rainbow," I explained. "Interesting," Twilight said. "Twilight, I have a question. Why do I have bat wings, and the three of you have normal wings?" I asked her. Twilight looked at my wings and said, "You are a thestral, Max." "So what is a thestral?" I asked. "A thestral is a bat-winged pony with split eyes and fangs. They are also nocturnal and can see in the dark," Twilight explained. "Hmm, I think being a thestral has its advantages," I said. At the Ponyville train station, the ponies were waiting for the train to arrive. They were feeling uneasy when they heard a rumbling noise in the distance. The noise grew louder, and a few minutes later, they saw a large red metal contraption coming into view. The Taigatrommel slowed down and stopped at the station, producing a hissing noise and a low rumbling sound. It stood there for a minute or two, then a door flung open, and seven ponies climbed out. As the Taigatrommel approached the train station, I slowed it to a reasonable speed. Just as it entered the station, I put the locomotive in neutral and gently applied the brakes. The train's brakes hissed as it stopped, and I turned off the engine. I got out of the driver's seat and unlocked the door. All six ponies, including me, climbed out of the locomotive. As I stepped out, I noticed that most ponies at the station were looking at the Taigatrommel in awe, while others were scared and running away. Twilight stepped forward and got the crowd's attention. She explained the situation and reassured them that everything was safe and under control. The crowd felt relieved after Twilight's explanation. As the crowd dispersed, it was getting late. Twilight's friends said their goodbyes before heading home, leaving Twilight and me alone. "Thank you for giving us a ride back to Ponyville," Twilight said kindly. "No problem, Twilight. But is it okay if I could crash at your place for the night?" I asked. "Of course you can, Max. I'm very curious about studying your train," she replied. "I don't mind you studying the train, Twilight," I said. Twilight was excited. "Thank you, thank you, thank you!" she exclaimed, hugging me. I returned to the Taigatrommel to get my belongings and locked the door before climbing down the ladder. After gathering my things, Twilight and I entered the town of Ponyville. Twilight gave me a short tour of the town. A few minutes later, I noticed a large crystal castle in the distance. "Um, Twilight, is that castle in the distance your home?" I asked nervously. "Yes, why, Max?" she responded. "Wow, this castle is the biggest property in this entire town," I replied. About two hundred meters later, we arrived at her castle. As I observed it, I noticed it was entirely made of crystal and much larger than I had imagined. Twilight ignited her horn, and a key appeared out of nowhere. She used her magic to insert the key into the door and unlocked it. The two large doors opened, and we trotted into the castle. I was impressed by the architecture and decorations. "Woah," I said. "I've never seen such a beautiful castle, Twilight." "I know, right," Twilight smiled. "Before we continue, I want you to meet my number one assistant, Spike." "I can't wait to meet Spike," I said. "Let me call Spike down," she said. "Hey, Spike, come down. We have a visitor." "Okay, Twilight, I'm coming down," I heard. A few minutes later, a small purple dragon walked out of the hallway. The small dragon stopped for a few moments and continued walking towards Twilight. "Hey, Spike, I want you to meet Max," Twilight said. Spike walked to me. "Hi, Max. My name is Spike," he said, shaking my left forehoof. "Nice to meet you, Spike," I replied. "Ahem," Twilight said. "Sorry for interrupting the conversation, but Max doesn't have a place to stay for the night, Spike. Spike, can you do me a favor and get his private bedroom ready?" "Yes, ma'am, Twilight," Spike said, saluting and running down the hallway. "Max, can you explain to me about the inner workings of your train while Spike gets your bedroom ready?" Twilight asked. "Sure, no problem, Twilight," I replied.

chapter 4View OnlineA Taigatrommel in Equestriachapter 4Author's Note Constructive criticism and recommendations are welcome. This literally took me five to write this chapter. Proudly written in Microsoft Office 2016 Professional Plus. chapter 4 As the sun began its descent, casting long shadows across the town square, Twilight and Max found themselves sitting on a bench, lost in conversation. Twilight had been captivated by Max's tales of his travels, his eyes sparkling with a childlike wonder as he described the exotic lands he had visited. "I've always wanted to see the world," Twilight admitted, her voice filled with longing. "But my duties as Princess of Friendship often keep me grounded." Max smiled. "Perhaps one day you'll have the chance. Who knows?" Just as Twilight was about to reply, her eyes caught sight of a familiar figure approaching. It was Princess Celestia, her radiant mane shimmering in the golden light. "Princess Celestia!" Twilight exclaimed, rising to her feet. Celestia smiled warmly. "Twilight, my dear. It's been far too long." Twilight hurried over to greet her, her heart pounding with excitement. "It's wonderful to see you, Your Highness." "And you, Twilight," Celestia replied. "You look well." Celestia turned to Max, who had risen to his feet as well. "And who might this be?" Twilight introduced Max, explaining that he was a traveler she had met recently. Celestia extended a warm hand. "Welcome, Max. It's a pleasure to meet you." Max bowed. "Thank you, Your Highness. It's an honor." Celestia nodded. "Now, Twilight, I have a very important matter to discuss with you." Twilight's heart skipped a beat. "Of course, Your Highness." Celestia led Twilight away, leaving Max to watch them go. He was intrigued by the mysterious air that surrounded the princess. Twilight and Celestia found a quiet corner of the square and began to speak. Celestia's face was grave. "Twilight, there is a great threat looming over Equestria. A dark force is stirring, one that could jeopardize the harmony we have worked so hard to maintain." Twilight's eyes widened. "What kind of threat, Your Highness?" Celestia hesitated, her voice filled with concern. "It's a power that has been dormant for centuries. A power that could destroy everything we hold dear." Twilight's heart raced. "We must do something, Your Highness. We can't let this darkness prevail." Celestia nodded. "That is why I have come. I need your help, Twilight. Your unique ability to bring together ponies of all kinds is more important than ever." Twilight felt a surge of determination. "I'll do whatever I can, Your Highness. I promise." As Celestia turned to leave, Twilight called out to her. "Wait, Your Highness. Is there anything else I should know?" Celestia paused, her eyes filled with a mixture of sadness and hope. "There is one thing, Twilight. The threat is coming from a place you may not expect." Twilight's heart sank. "Where?" Celestia hesitated for a moment, then replied in a hushed voice. "From within Equestria itself."
