Wings of Love
0 Prologue (Sweet Nightingale)
Previous ChapterNext ChapterI watched as the stars filled the once bright sky that turned into the lunar darkness. I shook at the shivers on my skin from the chilly weather outside on the porch. Jeez, when did it get so cold? I muttered to myself as I wanted to go back inside to be warm, but instead I was outside freezing my flank off looking into the endless emptiness of space. "You're gonna catch a cold if you stay out here hon." I heard a male voice say in a more concerning voice and to my surprise I noticed it to be Rage Quit my loving husband. He looked at me without a coat on anything to keep himself warm and held in his hoof a coat. (How ironic he came out without a coat and had one for me) "Put this on, I don't want you to freeze." Rage said as he handed me the coat and I threw it on which helped the cold, but not really anything else. "What are you doing up? We got to get ready to head out for the celebration tomorrow. I can't believe we were able to make it to see the annual Crystal Empire celebration." I said ears perked up in excitement... but I stopped myself to avoid making too much noise and waking the fillies up.
They have been asleep ever since we got here, traveling from Canterlot was quite the trip and by the time we got here. I almost had to carry all 3 of them (Including my husband which was quite the toll on me.) I just turned my head back into the stars and rested my hoof on the iron bar of the balcony and kept wondering on how much things had changed for the better. Though our children Lavender Song and Lilac Melody were still very young, they almost acted more mature than my own husband which sometimes made it good for bragging rights. "So, what are you thinking about?" Rage said as he put his hoof on my back and looked back at me. "You remember how we met?" I said laughing at it and even the old memories of it and even the days prior. Rage just bursted out laughing to my disapproval to where I stared at him with a stern face and he caught himself and kept from laughing more. Remember who has to sleep tonight. Keep it up and the couch or floor will be your bed. I muttered and he must've caught my words cause he turned his head away. "Yeah, those days were something. I still remember how much of a pain in the flank Dancing Thorns was.
She must've kept her name true on how she acted. But I know meeting you." Rage said as he turned my head and stared me in front of my face with his emerald green eyes and held his hoof on my chin. "Was the greatest thing that I ever had." Rage said as he kissed me and I blushed at it and didn't back away and he chuckled and walked back inside and asked if I was coming in. "Give me a second dear, I'll be right there." I said in a quiet tone to avoid making anymore noise than I already have made and looked at the stars once more. Well, I must be the most lucky mare to meet somepony like you Rage. Thank the princesses that I would never trade anything else for what I have. I said to myself as I turned around and walked inside and noticed Rage already settled in bed and was resting his head. I just took the coat off and hanged it up beside my dresses and other clothes and then jumped into bed and rested my head also. Rage gave me a slight kiss on my forehead and then fell asleep. He snored louder than anypony in this room or even in all of the Crystal Empire. I just sighed and then began to drift off into the endless void of dreams.
Though my story was all happy now and even peaceful, my journey and even Rage's was one of love, hate, betrayal and even distrust. But I knew that I would never change my life all those years ago for anything else.
