Prologue: An Unsettling Surprise
"Hey Twi," Sunset said as she saw her friend, Twilight Sparkle, enter the Food Court.
"Oh Hi, Sunset," Twilight said with a meek expression on her face.
"Hey, you're food, looks really good," Sunset said as Twilight got out a baloney sandwich.
"Yeah, I guess," Twilight said as she gave out a disconcerting look on her face.
Sunset then noticed Twilight's look immediately.
"Hey Twi, is something wrong," Sunset asked. "Whenever we see each other at the cafeteria you barely ever touch your food. And whenever you do, you make this face like it's the most disgusting thing in the world."
"I'm just not really into eating sandwiches a lot of the time," Twilight said.
"Twi, is something bothering you," Sunset asked. "It's ok, you can tell me, I'm your friend."
"Well, I..." Twilight tried to say before the cafeteria Television suddenly came on.
(News Bulletin)
"We interrupt this program to bring you this important news bulletin, last night, another victim has been found," The News reporter said. "Like the rest, his body was heavily mutilated and most of the victims flesh was found to be partially eaten."
"Many researchers say that these mysterious death's are the work of strange creatures that we know today as Ghouls," The reporter said. "Now, these Ghouls are supposed to look like normal humans. But they are monsters who seek out to eat the flesh of their human victims."
"So how can we distinguish a ghoul from a normal human," A Bystander said.
"Well, that is an easy question to answer," The reporter said to the bystander. "Now to distinguish a ghoul from a human is that Ghouls cannot eat the food that we humans eat, as they believe normal food to be putrid. It is because their taste-buds are different from ours."
"Do you have any photographic or video proof that Ghouls actually exist," The Civilian asked the News Reporter.
"Well yes we do," The Reporter said. Our drones actually caught video evidence of a Ghoul chowing down on his latest kill."
While Sunset was watching the news, she saw Twilight mutter something under her breath.
"Now, the Ghoul that our drones spotted looked similar to a former student at Crystal Prep," The Reporter said. The Ghoul looked like former Crystal Prep Student Shining Armor, but we are not sure about these certain rumors just yet. We will talk again when we have more information. Until then, this is GladMane signing off.

"Wow, these news reporters will say anything to make a good news story," Sunset said with a sarcastic smile. "I mean, flesh-eating Ghouls, that's just too bizarre to be believable, right Twi...Twilight?" Sunset said as she turned to Twilight, only to see that Twilight was no where to be found.
Sunset after finishing her lunch, went to go look for Twilight.
"Twilight, where are you," Sunset said. "If there's a problem, I'm more than happy for you to talk about it."
Despite Sunset's searching, she couldn't find Twilight anywhere.
Meanwhile, on the evening of the same day, Sunset was on her motorcycle as she was heading back to her apartment.
"I am telling you Rainbow, Twilight was acting really weird today," Sunset told Rainbow via Face-Time. "All week, Twilight was acting like she was hiding something, and when that news bulletin with the reporters talking about the ghouls came up, Twilight just left without a trace."
"Oh Sunset don't worry yourself about it so much," Rainbow said. "I'm sure Twilight was just tired due to staying up late while tinkering on some kind of tech or something like that. Just get some rest tonight, and I bet everything will be A-Ok tomorrow."
"Ok, I guess I'm getting a little paranoid over this whole thing," Sunset said. "Well, I'll see you tomorrow Dash."
"Good Night Sunset," Rainbow said as the Face-Time call ended.
Just as Sunset was turning down a corner, something in the distance caught her eye. Sunset saw a girl walking into an alley-way, and the girl looked similar to Twilight.
"Twi," Sunset thought to herself. "What is she doing out here in the middle of the night."
Sunset parked her motorcycle in a Cycle lane and after doing so, went to go see what Twilight was doing.
Sunset then peaked through the alley-way, only to see Twilight sitting on the ground as if she was eating something.
At first, she didn't know what it was, but after carefully examining what Twilight was eating, she saw that it was a human body...Twilight was eating a human body.
Not only that but there were eight red tendril like appendages coming out of her back, they almost looked like spider legs, as they were spearing and scooping out different organs.
"Sugarcoat, is that you," Twilight said. "I'm sorry, there's not a lot of food to share, but I'm sure there will be more humans coming."
"T...Twi," Sunset abruptly said.
Twilight stopped what she was doing and dropped the man she was eating.
Twilight turned around and saw Sunset with a face of fright, Twilight eyes were black with red pupils and there was blood dripping out of her mouth.
"Oh shit," Twilight said under her breath. "Sunset, this isn't what it looks like."
"Did you kill that man," Sunset asked. This offended Twilight.
"What kind of animal do you take me for, no I didn't kill him," Twilight said irritated. "He was dead when I found him."
"You...You're a ghoul," Sunset said.
Before Sunset could react, she was pinned to a wall by Twilight's kagune.
"Sunset, I'm sorry, but I have a family I need to protect," Twilight said. "So please don't tell anyone about this, I don't want to do something I'll regret."
Suddenly, Sunset was stabbed in the heart from behind by another Ghouls kagune, this Ghoul was revealed to be a member of Aogiri Tree.
"What do you think your doing, sparing that human meat sack, Spider," Momoku said.
"It's none of your business, Aogiri tree," Twilight roared. "You're trespassing in my hunting grounds, so get out before I kill you, maggot."
"Ahh, tough talk for a baby spider," Momoku said. "I will take great pleasure in killing you, grub."
"You're welcome to try," Twilight said readying her Kagune for battle.
Suddenly, Momoku's head was decapitated by another Ghoul, who was revealed to be Twilight's mother, Twilight Velvet.
"Twilight, hurry up and get out of here, more will be here soon," Velvet said. "Oh, and take the human with you, she's bleeding out fast. She could also be very useful."
"Alright, Mama," Twilight said as she put on a mask that looked like a spider's head. She then wrapped Sunset's body in her Kagune as she and her mother went back to the Spider Family House.
"Don't worry Sunset, after the surgery is done, you'll be all better," Twilight said as she headed to the Spider Family House.
