My Little Pony/Transformers: Magic than Meets the Eye
Chapter 7
Previous ChapterNext ChapterBack at the Autobots base.
Hitch and the others were now back at the Autobots HQ, while Jetfire, Whirl and Cosmos were being tended to my the Autobot's medical team consisting of: Ratchet, Minerva and First Aid.
"Are they going to be OK?" Hitch asked, as the three Autobots were being treated by Ratchet and his team.
"Ratchet is the best doctor we have," Ironhide replied, "if any can help he can."
"In the meantime," Jazz said, "we need to formulate a plan to your friend back from the cons."
"You are right, Jazz," Optimus nodded, "I have no idea what Galvatron plans to do with your friend, but I do know that now Galvatron and the Decepticons know that magic has returned to your world, is now in immediate danger."
"Then we have to do something," Zipp insisted, "we to rescue Sunny and get back home."
"First things, first," Ironhide said, "you four need to stay in the base, while we assemble a team to get your friend back."
"WHAT!" all four ponies responded.
"Sunny is our friend," Pipp said.
"And if you think, for one minute," Zipp continued, flying up to look Optimus straight in the optics, "that we're going to just sit by while you save her from the Decepticons."
"You are sorely mistaken," all four ponies declared, the three ponies on the ground stamping their hooves in defiance.
Meanwhile, at the Decepticons base.
Sunny sat in her cell, waiting and wondering what the Decepticons were going to do to her.
"Just stay calm, Sunny" she told, herself, "your friends will come rescue you."
Moments later, the sound approaching metal footsteps was heard.
Right after, the cell door opened and a Decepticon, Knockout, entered the room.
![]()
"Our head scientist requests your presence," he said.
Knockout was the Decepticons' medic, weapons engineer and to his frustration, assistant to Shockwave.
Not seeing any choice, Sunny followed Knockout until they reached a laboratory, filled with various devices and jars containing coloured liquids.
Sunny noticed a few gurneys covered by sheets in the corner of the room, as well as a tarp covering a small section of the room.
At the centre of everything was Shockwave, looking over a computer.
Knockout cleared his throat, causing the scientist to look away from the computer.
Sunny gasped at the sight of the Decepticon's face, completely devoid of features except a for single red eye in the centre of the head.
"I brought you the prisoner you asked to see," Knockout said.
Sunny tried to hide her fear of Shockwave as he gazed down at her.
"Thank you, Knockout," Shockwave said, "leave us."
"Gladly," Knockout replied, a tinge of annoyance in his voice.
Knockout's contempt towards Shockwave was because he, at one point, had been the Decepticons' head scientist, but after multiple failures, Galvatron had demoted him to assistant to Shockwave. His distain wasn't just towards Shockwave but towards Galvatron, after eons of fighting, their leader's mental state had become less than stable, coupled with being rebuilt into his new form. Megatron, now Galvatron, had begun orchestrating attacks that had resulted in some Decepticons dying, two of them being Knockout's partner, Breakdown and Dreadwing's twin brother, Skyquake.
As a result, some Decepticons had begun to question their leader and if he was even fit to lead, other Decepticons remained loyal to Galvatron, simply because they didn't want the war to end, some of them craved the thrill of battle, some Decepticons couldn't conceive of a peaceful Cybertron.
It wasn't just the Decepticons, some of the Autobots were also starting to question if the war was even going to end, while others also craved the thrill of battle.
Meanwhile, back at the Autobot base.
Optimus had tried to dissuade Sunny's friends from going to rescue their friend, saying that it was too dangerous and they should remain at the base and he would dispatch a team to infiltrate the Decepticon's base and retrieve Sunny.
But Hitch and others had refused to budge and insisted that they go with the rescue team.
Optimus's attempts at arguing were quickly shut down, as the ponies were adamant about saving their friend.
"As the sheriff of Maretime bay," Hitch stated, "it is my duty to help those in danger and that includes Sunny."
"There is no point trying to stop us," Zipp nodded, "we're going to rescue our friend from the Decepticons with or without you and the Autobot's help."
Optimus tried to make one final attempt to argue, but the looks on the ponies faces told him that it was pointless.
"Very well," he said, reluctantly, "I shall organise the rescue team and then you all join me in the main control room."
Hours later, Optimus had prepared the rescue team, consisting of: Springer, Mirage, Hound, Rack 'n' Ruin, Trailbreaker, Twincast, Chromia and Roadhandler.
Optimus had appointed Ultra Magnus, leader of the Autobot commando unit the Wreakers, to lead the operation in his stead.

They were also accompanied by a young Autobot cadet named Twitch and her sister Hashtag, who's alt modes was a Cybertronian security drone and communications van.

Back at the Decepticon's base.
Shockwave had Sunny strapped to a table and had begun running various tests and experiments on her.
While that was happening, Knockout continue walking through the corridors of the base.
He was soon joined by Impactor, another Decepticon who also had mixed feeling about Galvatron's leadership.
![]()
Impactor's reason for joining the Decepticons was that he and Megatron, before he became Galvatron, were friends and he had make an oath to protect the people of Cybertron.
The oath wasn't to Megatron, the Decepticons or any other faction, but to himself.
Like Knockout and some others, Impactor had begun to question his leader's actions and orders.
"Hey," Knockout said, breaking the silence between the two, "you ever wonder why you join the Decepticons?"
"I know my reason," Impactor replied, "what you're really asking is why did you?"
Knockout was silent for a while, thinking about the good times he and Breakdown had had together, in the early days of the Equestria/Cybertron cultural exchange, him and Breakdown would make frequent trips to Equestria.
He and Breakdown had been inhabitance of the Cybertronian colony Velocitron and were drafted into the Decepticon course, when the great war reignited.
For a while, he had enjoyed being the Decepticon's medic and weapons engineer, he wasn't one for engaging in active combat, Knockout hated getting his paintwork damaged or scratched in any way.
Breakdown on the other hand, was the complete different from Knockout, he was a brute of a bot but underneath he was a kind and gentle bot, who cared about the wellbeing of his comrades.
Knockout had always admired Breakdown's sensitive and caring side, most Decepticons were ether criminals, triggerhappy psychos, sociopaths or some other kind of bad.
While this was happening Ultra Magnus, the Wreckers and the ponies were nearing the Decepticon's base.
"Alright," Ultra Magnus said, as he and the others stopped a good distance from the base and transformed from their vehicle modes to their robot modes, "everyone remember my plan?"
"What about us?" Zipp asked.
"You four will stay here until we return," Ultra Magnus answered, "no unarmed civilians should be in a potential combat zone."
Hitch, Pipp and Izzy all agreed, they didn't what to get in the Autobots way and allow them to rescue their friend.
But Zipp wasn't going to take no for an answer, "Are you serious?!"
"Is there a problem?" Ultra Magnus asked.
"You exact us to just sit here?!" Zipp continued, "while you save Sunny? Neigh way."
Ultra Magnus signed, "do all the natives on your world display the same disregard for authority?" he asked.
"No," Hitch replied, "it's just Zipp."
"It doesn't matter," Ultra Magnus said, "the answer is still no."
Zipp was about to argue back, but Ultra Magnus ignored her and turned to the Wreakers.
"Alright," he declared, "it's time to move out."
"Yeah sir," the rest of the team responded.
The Wreakers began to put their plan into action, having Hound using his projected hologram weapon to lure the guards away, then Mirage, using his Electro-disrupter, which made his invisible, to infiltrate the base with intel provided by Hashtag, using her technopathic powers, acquiring the base's layout and helping Mirage navigate the base and find Sunny.
Ultra Magnus and the rest of the team, remained behind to act as backup and support.
Like the Decepticons, some of the Autobots were beginning grow tired of the endless fighting, like the Decepticons, some of the Autobots didn't want the war to end, some of them craved the thrill of battle, some Autobots couldn't conceive of a peaceful Cybertron.
Hitch and the others hated doing nothing, but they knew that the Wreakers definitely had more experience in executing rescue missions.
Back with Sunny.
Sunny screamed in pain, she had refused to tell Shockwave anything about her world or her magic, thus the Decepticon had resorted to using a modified Cortical Psychic Patch, a tool used for viewing and extracting information from a subject's mind, in this case Sunny's mind, now Shockwave knew about Equestria, magic and the Unity Crystals.
"Fascinating," Shockwave remarked, "these Unity Crystals will provide us with an unlimited supply of energy."
He looked over at Sunny, who had passed out from the strain on her mind.
"I must inform Lord Galvatron," Shockwave declared, "this new information will turn the tides in the Decepticons favour and allow us to calm victory over the Autobots."
Leaving the unconscious Sunny, still strapped to the table, Shockwave walked out of the room, heading for Galvatron's throne room, the door closing behind him.
Sunny was left alone in the room, for a while, then suddenly the door opened, but seemingly, no one entered the room.
"Coast seems clear," Mirage said, disengaging his Electro-disrupter, becoming visible again.
"Arrr," Sunny groaned, as she slowly began to regain conscious.
"It's okay," Mirage whispered, "save your strength, I'm getting you outta here."
Suddenly, an alarm sounded.
Soundblaster had detected Hashtag's hacking, informed Galvatron and sounded the alarm.
"Oh, for Primus sake," Mirage groaned, "Looks like we have to burn rubber and fast."
Mirage quickly transformed into his alt mode, a race car, and placed Sunny in his driver seat.
Once Sunny was strapped in, Mirage raced out of the lab.
The alarm continued to blare as the two made their escape.
There was some resistance, but Mirage smashed through and continue onwards, heading for the exited.
A few Decepticons tried to chase after Mirage from behind, but were foiled by the Autobot's Electro-disrupter, using it to create holographic decoys to confuse the enemy.
Finally, Sunny and Mirage made it out of the base and back to the others.
"Right," Ultra Magnus stated, "lets move and get back to the base."
"And fast," Chromia agreed, "the cons will be on us like Scraplets, if we don't move it."
"Roger," the other Autobots responded.
"Teletraan 2," Ultra Magnus said, speaking into his communicator, "this is Ultra Magnus, requesting a ground bridge back to the Autobot headquarters."
"Affirmative," the voice of Teletraan 2 answered, "locking on to your coordinates."
Seconds later, a ground bridge portal opened.
"Alright, everyone," Ultra Magnus said, "transform and follow me."
Ultra Magnus into his alt mode, that being an armoured transport truck, and the others all transformed into their alt modes, Mirage quick transformed to his robot mode and handed the unconscious Sunny to her friends afterwards he changed back to his alt mode.
Hitch, the rest of Sunny's friends and Sunny herself, all piled into Ultra Magnus's cab, with the Autobots parking themselves on Ultra Magnus's truck trailer, with Chromia and Springer providing air and ground support.
Once everyone and everypony was loaded Ultra Magnus drove at full speed through the ground bridge.
Moments later, the Decepticons rushed out the base, only to see the enemy fleeing the area.
Hours later,
Sunny had been placed in a recovery machine, her friends, Optimus and Ratchet watched from the sidelines.
For a while nobody and nopony spoke.
"So," Zipp said, eventually "what now?"
Ratchet didn't answer immediately, "I can't say," he responded, "it is too soon to know."

"You need not worry," Optimus stated, "rest assured, we will do everything within our power to help your friend."
"Might I have a word, Optimus?" Ratchet replied, "in private."
The look on the medic's face, told Optimus that it was serious.
Optimus nodded, he turned to Hitch and the others.
"Would you excuse us," he said.
Without another word, Optimus and Ratchet headed for a secluded part of the Autobot base.
"What is troubling you, old friend?" Optimus asked, once the two were alone.
"I do not know if there is anything I can do for Sunny Starscout," Ratchet answered, "in all the years when Cybertron and Equestria were open to each other, in all the years exploring their culture and history," his voice began to shake, "I learned little of their science or medicine."
Ratchet looked defeated and powerless, until Optimus placed a hand on his shoulder.
"Have faith, old friend," he said, his voice filled with optimism and hope, "those ponies may not look it, but like those who came before them, they are a strong and proud race, when our races mingled I saw them through many struggles, many journeys, but like all great creatures sometimes they need help and that help was from each other or us."
