Chapter 4:
The flight back to Canterlot was spent mostly in silence. Luna could tell that Celestia was hiding something. There was still much Luna couldn’t remember about what happened back then and she could tell that there was something Celestia wasn't telling her. She couldn't tell what it was but she could see it in her sisters’ eyes. The whole time they were at the library, Celestias’ eyes never left Achenar.
"Could it have something to do with why I couldn’t find what I was looking for the other night?"She thought to herself.
"Luna."
"Y-yes." Luna said snapping out of her thoughts at Celestias’ words.
"We're here. It's getting late you should go raise the moon as soon as we land." Celestia said to her sister without turning around.
"Right." Luna said looking at the castle.
They landed and Celestia left for her chambers as Luna went to raise the moon.
Luna looked out at the night she had brought forth.
“You’ve really out done yourself this time.” Luna said to herself taking pride in her work.
Satisfied she decided to go to the kitchens for something to eat. On her why she overherd one of the Nocturne guards arguing with one of the regular guards. It was extremely common so Luna was just going to continue on her way when she heard one of them say something that grabbed her attention.
“I’m telling you something’s not right. The princess has been acting strange since last night.” The Nocturne guard said.
“You’re crazy, I’ve haven’t noticed anything different. Even if you’re right what do you plan to do about it?” The other guard asked.
“Whatever. I’ve got to get to my post.” The Nocturne guard said turning to leave.
“Yeah, whatever.” The other guard said turning the other way.
The Nocturne guard came around the corner and noticed the Princess standing there.
“Your majesty!” He said bowing lightly.
“As you were.” Luna said.
“As you wish.” He said continuing on his way.
Luna continued on her way to the kitchens thinking about what she had overheard.
“What’s going on? What is Celestia hiding from me and what part does that boy Achenar play in all this?" Her thoughts were interrupted when the smells from the kitchen met her nose.
Celestia sat on her bed looking out at the night that her sister had brought forth.
“He is not the same person as the one that changed her,” Celestia said to herself. “So why do I feel this way?” She turned and looked at the book sitting on the bedside table. “Maybe it would easier to just let Luna remember what happened, but I must protect my younger sister even from herself.”
She then puts the book away and goes to sleep as tears begin to form in her eyes.
After she got something to eat Luna headed to the throne room to attend to her duties. Apon entering she was gretead by a rare site.
"Cadence? What are you doing here?" Luna asked the other Alicorn in the room.
“You’ve seemed over worked lately, so I thought you might like the night off.” Cadence said looking at Luna with a smile.
"Oh, well. I don’t know what to say.” Luna said a little surprised. “Thanks, but are you sure you don’t mind?”
“It’s ok, with Shining Armor busy lately training the new guards, I’ve been looking for something to do.” She said.
“Well ok, I’ll see you tomorrow then.” Luna said as she turned to leave.
“Good night Luna.” Cadence said as she started to look at some legal documents that required the royal signature.
Luna decided to go back to her room and catch up on her reading. There was a romance novel she had found during her searching that she thought would be a good read.
