It has been well over a millenium since the Crystal Empire vanished, and most throughout the world have forgotten it ever existed.

But one pony that has never been able to forget is Radiant Hope. It may have been centuries since, but an injury that has never healed is the pain from her losses, kept alive by the memories of all that happened.

And she will not let herself forget. She hasn't always been able to do it, but whenever she can, on the anniversary of the Empire's disappearance, she travels to its former location, and thinks back on what led to the tragedy, and the role she played in it.

It will be helpful if you read Chapters of a Revamped Tome, or at least if you take a look at its summary, as this story is part of the same AU and operates under the same type of 'AU premise' that that story follows, but it is not absolutely necessary for you to do so.
