I think that we, as a society, don't know how to deal with sex. This story explores a world that does know how to deal with it.
In this world, intense sex is no more shameful than intense running. It's a thing that some people really enjoy, and everyone's ok with that. Having wild sex with strangers doesn't mean you're a bad person, and it doesn't mean you can't also find true love.
Dash's love for Fluttershy is more important than her orgies, but the orgies don't diminish or corrupt her love. And Fluttershy understands that.
