Siléncia Breeze watched her mother as the years went by; bouncing from one stallion to another. She herself was a half breed thestral and pegasus,and unaccepted by both races. When her stepmother passed away from a disease she had acquired from a stallion she went through her mother's stuff and threw away most of it. However, she found an old hat with a large green apple on it. She recalled seeing cider in the cellar bearing the mark of the Apple family farm on it.
She tracked the farm easily enough and saw that her biological father had remarried to Thestral. Sadly she walked away, after poking through the archives, she found that she had a half brother. She figured that she should not ever tell him that she existed but observe him from a distance. When she did find him, he had a herd of wives around him with grown kids. She had seen one of his changeling daughters and knew that she saw some sort of resemblance between her and her father.
Siléncia silently flew down an alley and found another vantage point. Siléncia had for some reason been given two names, her Threstral name was Siléncia Breeze and her pony name was North-Star. Her silent flight and stealth skills were so far unmatched, and she always knew where and what she should be doing and never seemed to be lost or confused in her life's journey.
Siléncia Breeze saw Princess Luna in the entourage of wives, damn her luck she sneezed and Knuckles saw her and looked confused. Siléncia saw his eyes and realized they shared the same shade of green. What did her stepmother have in common with the Apple family and what did this Threstralian king have in common with farmers?
At this present time she had enlisted into the Lunar Guard and barely made it in time to join the others to receive their gear and be assigned to a squad. Siléncia stood where she could see Knuckles and a mare beside him. She thought that the mare looked familiar and yet on that mare's face was a look of surprise and then some shame or was it something else?
Knuckles
Knuckles looked at the young recruit he heard sneeze, she had a similar look to his cousin Holly Berry. The latter stood beside him and he noted a hint of tenseness and a bit of a cloud of some sort of shame came over her. Holly had been pregnant about twenty years ago and he never knew what happened to the foal and his means of finding out had been blocked.
Makita walked over to the young recruit and looking at Knuckles was permitted to ask a question. "My prince wants to know who your mother was?"
"She's dead now, well she was actually my stepmom but she raised me alongside of her own as if I was one of her own. She had some odd items that had come to Ponyville then here to Canterlot, at any rate I'm here hoping to be able to gain access to some databases for some research."
"I see…I'm Captain Makita retired, you will be assigned to Capt. Hammerhead's squad, the 134th platoon squad four." Siléncia found herself running as her name was yelled and to where she was to stand. The captain looked nice enough, a bit stern though. This point in her enlistment they were to perform a few exercises to see where they would start from to track progress.
Siléncia was soon called up to do some wing-ups. She did her required set of a hundred, she was about to recover (get back in her hooves) when she was being yelled at! The captain was in her face bellowing.
"You're not done until I say you are! Give me a few more!" Siléncia groaned that she couldn't do more than a hundred. "Do I look like I give a fuck! You will never succeed unless you push beyond your damn limits!" The verbal abuse continued until she did her crunches, pull-ups, and then her 5k run. Collapsing, she wondered what the hell she did to herself. Capt. Hammerhead was being verbally abusive to everypony, but was worse to her.
The Barracks
Now in the barracks, Siléncia Breeze was removing the ropes off her uniform; "Who the fuck would leave threads on a finished product?" Siléncia knew Rarity and her fashion team would be in an uproar if they saw her uniform. Then again…the labels in the uniforms bore the label belonging to Sassy Saddles of Manehattan. The other recruits had already finished theirs when Capt. Hammerhead made an appearance and was inspecting the four squads who were in that long barrack.
"Recruit Breeze! Finish that damn uniform already! Fuck you bitch! Get it done in two minutes!" Siléncia tried but her uniform was in the worst shape. Hammerhead could see that she was being so meticulous that he mentally marked her for officer's training after their basic training.
Captain Hammerhead was nice enough to allow the recruits some leisure time. Siléncia spent her time studying her handbook of drills and practiced them the best she could. She twirled her rifle in a specific method for honor guard at special events, the weapon had hit something semisolid. Siléncia froze, she had hit another recruit who glared hatred at her. "Damn you fuckin' half-breed!" Siléncia tried to apologize but was forced to strike back. The other recruit was a full Threstral of the class that consumed blood and towered over her hybrid form. She barely was able to stay airborne as the blows were exchanged. Capt. Hammerhead was not thrilled and he stormed up to the antagonist and bellowed the orders for the fighting pair to explain what the hell happened. Siléncia luckily had actually struck her attacker but just blocked his blows; however, the 134th platoon gathered and watched as the pair were forced to do partnership exercises until they could coexist peacefully. News spread of the brawl and bets and rumors began to float among the older officers on a idea that a recruit 20 years ago and this recruit were related. Siléncia had the skills for blocking like a recruit had and rumor floating that the recruit 20 years ago was on the base.
