Less Water, More Daughter
Prologue
Load Full StoryNext ChapterVelvet sighed as she got into bed, today had been exhausting what with Twilight wanting to visit all of the most historically interesting parts of Canterlot for a research paper she was working on while Shining Armor was seeking out her help in how to win the heart of a pony who was not only the embodiment of love but a princess on top of it, Velvet hardly had any time to herself, being a single mother was difficult. Night Light had passed away a few years ago, Velvet tried not to remind herself how long it was exactly, she found that the more she could forget about his death then the sooner she could move on, not that she would ever forget her husband of course. This meant that the duty of caring for the children fell squarely on her shoulders and while it was challenging, she made it work, even though it was sometimes excruciatingly frustrating with a head-strong, intelligent and dull daughter plus a brutish and dim son who was trying to get his hooves on a pony that he had known since he was in school.
Velvet tried to drift off to sleep, her heavy and tired eyelids closing, she needed to find a partner. Preferably some pony younger, she figured she could pull off the whole MILF angle, but who in the wide wide world of Equestria could she date that would provide parental care as well as a loving relationship? The dating scene was new to her, maybe she could ask her kids about it? Not Shining Armor, he was having his own trouble... Twilight? Was it possible that despite being in her early twenties and focusing on studying she had picked up a book on dating? Velvet relaxed, she could think about this tomorrow after a well-deserved sleep.
