"Luna... LUNA!" it whispered.

The blue alicorn looked frantically all around but all she saw was a black void.

Luna felt scared. "Who are you? What do you need from me!?" she called.

No answer.

For days and days and days. Months. Luna continuously had these nightmares. A voice that sounded so much like her own but still so different would reach out to her. She would talk back by asking questions but to no avail of being answered. Luna had no idea what it was. All she knew, was that it couldn't be trusted because it didn't sound nice. It kept saying things to her about being overlooked and ignored. But it was probably just saying that so she would become evil as well and go against her sister. luna loves Celestia and would never betray her. And Luna knows, her big sister loves her back dearly.

A loud screeching sound made Luna's heart skip a beat as she whirled around.

Nothing.

'What was that?' she thought.

"It's me, Luna," it responded.

Luna's pulse began racing. This thing could read her thoughts. How did it do that? But Luna wasn't about to step back.

"Keep yourself out of my head!" Luna snarled. "What do you want from me? Why wouldn't you leave me alone? Why do you keep coming to me and saying things like betraying my sister? I would never betray Celestia, nor hurt her."

For a bit, the voice was quiet. After a while, it responded. "Oh, but you should know, I have been inside you since you were born. And you should also know, that a part of you does despise Celestia."

Luna seethed with rage. How dare it say that?

"Hush! You know nothing of how I feel about my sister," she growled. "I told you, Celestia loves me. And I love her. That will never change. Ever!"

The thing made a sound that sounded like it sighed. "Luna. You don't seem to understand. How about I show you."

Luna's senses snapped. She backed away but still held a brave face.

She hoped it looked brave.

"S-stay away from me! Don't dare come near me!" She yelped when a tendril stretched forward and lashed tight on her right foreleg.

Luna let out a scream of terror as more tendrils came and grabbed a hold of her from different spots.

"No! No! Let go of me! Please!" she plead but the thing didn't seem to listen. In fact, it only closed in more on her. Luna felt her heart race. Her blood roared in her ears. She was terrified.

"No, no... NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!"

Luna woke with a gasp.

Her heart felt like it would drill its way out of her just, with just how hard and fast it was beating. She looked all around with wide eyes.

After a while, she took a deep breath. It was her usual nightmare... again. And she was miserable. But she was also frightened.

"I don't feel sleepy," she said to herself.

She felt as scared as a small bunny in a thundering rainforest. She wanted...

"Celestia," she whispered. "I need, big sister."

Would she let her in though? Celestia was most likely asleep. Luna didn't want to disturb her. But she still needed to see her. She'd feel safer if she was with her.

Making her final decision, she crawled out of bed and wandered out to the castle hall. Her sister's room wasn't far, so the walk there shouldn't take too long.

The hallways were dark. Almost black. Only the flare of the torches along the walls was the only source of light to see with. Sooner later, Luna stopped in front of a door. Turning the knob as soundlessly as she could with her aura, Luna peeked inside.

Just as she suspected, Celestia was asleep in her enormous bed. But although her room itself was gigantic, its warmth felt welcoming.

Luna carefully stepped inside and shut the door behind her. She trotted slowly in. Her sister's form came into view.

Celestia could easily be noticed as a gorgeous mare. Her coat was as white as snow. And her mane was a pale pink hue like roses. Her wings were like that of a graceful swan.

Luna came closer and she whispered. "Celestia?"

Celestia didn't move from her slumber.

"Celestia?" Luna said again, a bit louder. She reached out with a hoof and gently shook her shoulder. "Sister?"

At last, Celestia's light purple eyes fluttered open. She blinked before yawning.

She swivelled her head all around and stopped when she got to Luna. "Luna? What are you doing here?" she asked.

Luna sniffed as tears sprung in her eyes. "I just needed you... forgive me for waking you." Luna then broke down into a sobbing mess. Celestia's eyes went wide.

"Luna, my dearest sister, are you okay? Why are you crying?" Celestia lifted Luna with her magic and placed her gently beside her.

Luna exhaled a deep breath to calm herself. "Sister? Do you love me?"

Celestia pulled Luna close in a tight hug. "Luna, of course, I do. What an odd question that was. But what is the matter though? you seem distressed by something. What is it?"

Luna looked away. "I... had a bad dream."

Celestia regarded her with concerned eyes. "You did?" Luna was alarmed by how steady her voice sounded. But she was also a bit grateful. If Celestia expressed worry Luna would be even more worried. Celestia had many mother-related attributes.

"Can you tell me?" Celestia asked softly.

Luna thought for a minute. Could she tell her sister? Celestia could offer advice. Right? She was Luna's big sister and took great responsibility for her. She deserved to know. Luna trusted her that much.

"Okay," she said. "I'll tell you."

So then she explained her dream to Celestia. At some parts, Celestia squeezed Luna tighter against her with wide eyes. At other parts, she was bewildered. Especially when Luna mentioned that the thing in her dream was persuading her to hate Celestia.

Finally, when she was done, Celestia didn't say anything for a long time. She only placed a hoof on her chin and looked deep in thought.

The silence gave Luna an extremely horrible feeling, so she broke it. "What do you think it means?"

Celestia thought some more. "I... I think it could be giving a warning for the future... I think."

Luna was close to having a panic attack. "What warning?" she whispered.

Celestia met her eyes. "A warning about you. Something that's going to happen to you perhaps."

Luna was horrified. "What's going to happen to me? Am I going to die? Am I going to... to hurt you? Tia. I don't want to hurt you. I... I never..." she trailed off. The tightness was back in her throat as tears burned her eyes. "Tia, I love you. I don't want to hurt you."

Celestia swept one wing around Luna as she pulled her closer. "Luna, it was just a guess. Hopefully, that will never happen. I know you will never hurt me. But Luna, look at me." Celestia tilted her sister's face up. "Even if you do hurt me, I will never be mad at you. I'll still love you, at all costs. No matter what happens. And I'll do whatever it takes to help you be Luna again."

Luna widened her eyes in shock. She didn't know how to respond to that. "Really?" she whispered.

The white alicorn nodded. "I will. But for now though. I will do my best and prevent this from ever happening if it ever does. Alright?" Luna sniffed but nodded. "Okay... thank you, sister," she said.

Celestia smiled and hugged Luna close. "Anything for you... sister. I'm here for you. Always."

As Luna held on tight to her big sister, she thought back on what that thing had said to her in her dream.

You hate her.

Luna disagreed and felt like she wanted to spit back. She didn't hate Celestia. She never would. And Celestia's nothing like how that thing said she is. Luna knows... Celestia loves her. No matter what.

And Luna will also try her hardest to prevent this destiny. Or maybe destiny she should call it. And Celestia will protect her. She will be there for Luna.

After all, what's the worst that could happen?
