Prologue: The Equestria Ninja Girls meets The Boy Who's Fine With No Friends and The Girl Who No Longer Trusts
At Cheslea Park in New York City, there were some teenage children doing some sports and dancing, but there was one boy who stood out as he was showing off some sick dancing moves. The boy was wearing a blue bandana, a white button-up shirt with elbow-length sleeves, an open sleeveless red vest containing gold buttons, black pants which are rolled up to his ankles, black and blue sneakers, had blonde spiky hair and blue eyes.
"Wow Leo!" A girl called out.
"Great dance moves, bud! Wanna show us how?" A boy asked as the boy known as "Leo" took a glance at them before giving a scoff.
"Whatever. I'm leaving." Leo simply said as he started to leave before stopping at a basketball rolling in front of him.
"Leo!" Another girl called out.
"Pass the ball!" Another boy requested before Leo started to continue leaving the park.
"It's not like my cousin visits me anymore." Leo thought to himself as he left the park.
Meanwhile, in a small mansion at a neighborhood in New York City, a teenage girl was starting to leave her room, but she saw a pair of maids whispering something before they went away. The girl was wearing diamond earrings, a short-sleeved blue denim jacket, a red and pink shirt, black yoga pants with green swirls on them, red and purple sneakers with yellow laces, had green eyes and platinum blonde hair with pigtails.
A maid opened a door before seeing the girl and closing it, as she kept hearing the whispers.
"Lady Emma must know nothing of this." A maid whispered to her fellow maid.
"Miss Emma can't know about any of this." Another maid whispered to one other as the girl known as "Emma" reached the front door.
"I can't take anymore of this." Emma uttered, running out the doors that she pushed open. "Why won't my cousin see me anymore?" She thought to herself as the doors closed behind her while she kept running.
One night in New York City, the Rainbooms, Crusaders, Shadowbolts, Starlight Glimmer, Trixie Lulamoon, Juniper Montage, Fugitoid, Timber Spruce and Gloriosa Daisy were visiting the Turtles, Mutanimal and the other ninjas.
"Hey guys!" Twilight called out.
"Twilight! It's good to see you and the others again." Leonardo greeted back.
"Karai, Shini, it's good to catch up with you two." Starlight Glimmer said.
"Same here, Starlight." Shini responded.
"Yep. Adagio's in charge of the Foot Clan for now while me and Shini are out here." Karai agreed.
"But would you mind telling us for your visit with some of the others?" Slash asked.
"Well, Trixie and Juniper wanna visit some family of theirs in New York." Sunset answered.
"Yes, even I worry about my family sometimes." Trixie admitted, surprising the ninjas.
"Although I have heard legends about something." Juniper noted.
"Legends? About what?" Bandit asked.
"About a certain theater that shows wonders and what's in your heart." Juniper explained.
"Whoa..." Pinkie, Mikey, Pigeon Pete, Mondo Gecko, Lemon Zest and the Crusaders awed in amazement.
"Really?" Raph asked in skepticism.
"Juniper sounded serious about this when she first told me about this." Trixie answered.
"Maybe we should check out this theater." April suggested.
"You sure about that, red?" Casey asked.
"Of course she is, Casey." Rarity answered.
"Well then what're we waiting for? Let's go!" Juniper declared as the ninjas searched for the theater.
One hour later, they found it, the strange theatre.
"By Jove, that is quite a grand theatre." Dr. Rockwell noted.
"But what's in there?" Timber Spruce wondered.
"Yes, what indeed." Fugitoid agreed.
"Why don't we go in and find out?" Joe Eyeball suggested.
"Great idea, Joe." Muckman responded.
"B-But what if there are ghosts?" Fluttershy asked in fear.
"Don't worry, we all got this together." Gloriosa answered.
"Alright! Here we go, babe!" Keno said to his girlfriend, Indigo Zap.
"Let's do this, Keno!" Indigo agreed as she, her boyfriend and the rest of the ninjas went into the theatre, seeing posters of movies that featured people that Timber Spruce, Gloriosa Daisy, the Shadowbolts, and most of the Rainbooms found familiar before finding themselves in a restaurant room, seeing a strangely-dressed man holding a strange jewel.
"Oh?" The man noticed as he turned his head towards the ninjas and smiled with the candles going out.
"Alright, who are you?" Raph asked as he grabbed his sais.
"Why, hello there." The man welcomed as he put the jewel down and stood up, before spinning around in the air and gave a gentleman bow when he stopped, revealing his face. "And welcome!"
"My goodness!" Sunny gasped as she and everyone else was caught off guard.
"My name is Balan, the maestro of this theatre." Balan introduced himself as he opened his palm. "Here, friends, have these." Balan simply said as strange creatures appeared and fell into the ninjas and mutants' hands.
"Oh! These little guys are so cute!" Fluttershy gushed as Balan spotted an expression on Trixie and Juniper's faces, before starting to examine them.
"What the?!" Trixie gasped.
What are you?!" Juniper asked.
"And tell me you two: what is it you and some of your friends miss?" Balan riddled.
"Uh... Something important?" Donnie guessed.
"But, of course--it's pieces of your hearts!" Balan answered in agreement as he took everyone to the main theater room as he removed some boxes and cleared a table of dust.
"Our hearts?" The Rainbooms, turtles, ninjas, Mutanimals and Shadowbolts asked in confusion as Balan stood next to them.
"Which means it's time for the show to start!" Balan said as he snapped his fingers, causing some colorful light twinkles to appear as the spotlights turned on and shined on him at the stage.
Balan pointed towards the audience as he tipped his hat before doing a cartwheel to the left side of the stage. But then something strange happened, four clones of Balan appeared to his right as they spun and stopped, pointing at the audience again with their right hands on their hats, before the middle Balan flew towards the ninjas and then around them, causing the humans and mutants to find themselves in chairs. But then the small creatures started to get excited as more of them, with some having hairstyles and animal ears hopped onto the stage while Balan came back to the stage with a twirl and his clones coming back into him. The spotlights shined many colors before the background curtains opened, revealing a river of colorful jewels that swept away the creatures as Balan floated above it, surprising the ninjas. Balan was then swimming in an underwater ocean stage with a scuba mask and snorkel, before he swam onto a nighttime city as he stood on two buildings, pushing them apart as the humans and mutants with their creature friends found themselves falling towards the gap.
"What is happening?!" Mona Lisa asked in shock as she and the rest of her friends found themselves on floaties on the water when a lightning struck while seeing a giant Balan watching them. It was revealed that they were on a glass of water as Balan drank it before multiple doors appeared as they opened, revealing Balan and clones of him dancing as they passed through more doors.
"Now, let us go find your hearts, my friends." Balan said as ninjas found themselves cuddled by the little creatures with more and bigger ones around them before the creatures jumped. Balan emerged from an open door as he slid on a lane of grass. "A journey to Wonderworld we shall embark upon!" Balan declared as the humans and mutants were on their chairs spinning and the creatures hopping on their heads before everything became a blur as the entrance door to the Wonderworld Theatre closed.
Juniper opened her eyes, only to find herself on an island with more of those creatures. "Guys?" Juniper asked as she turned around, becoming relieved as she saw the rest of her friends opening their eyes, before giving a gasp in shock.
"Juniper? Is something-" Trixie started to ask before she gasped in shock as well.
"What's wrong, you two?" Leatherhead asked as he and the other humans and mutants turned to where Juniper and Trixie were looking at, seeing a young teenage boy and girl, before the pair started opening their eyes and getting up.
"Ugh... What gives?" The boy wondered.
"What happened to that man with the white hat?" The girl asked before she and the boy noticed Trixie and Juniper.
"Leo?" Trixie gasped.
"Emma?" Juniper noticed before Emma and Leo turned their heads away from her and Trixie.
"Welcome to the Isle of Tims." A familiar voice greeted as everyone looked up, seeing Balan flying.
"*Sweetly* Wow! This is awesome! *Sourly* But what's going on?" Sour Sweet asked.
"Why, you, your friends, Leo and Emma are here to help recover yours and others’ hearts." Balan answered.
"So you took us into a whole other world where we might encounter some people inside their hearts and we have to find a way to find those pieces of their hearts?" Sugarcoat bluntly asked.
"Of course! That is exactly right!" Balan said with a smile.
Leo, Emma, all of the ninjas were completely confused on what's going on. What will they do?
