~Present day~
~~About 8:00 am Equestria Standard Time~~
I sat up in my bed, and the smell of bacon filled my nose. I thought, ‘Oh, how he knows me.’ I smiled as I through on a light yellow shirt and a pair of blue shorts. I walked out of my room and into the living room. On the table, a cup of black tea, lightly sweetened. I picked it up and walked into the kitchen, and there he was, my one and only boyfriend, Spike.
Spike smiled as I walked in, “Morning, sweetie, how are you?”
I replied, “I got to see you, so I’m very good.” I smiled as I walked closer to him, “What are you cooking?”
He looked at me, “A special breakfast.”
I set my tea down as I walked closer. I wrapped my arms around his waist and smiled, “Sounds good.” I kissed him lightly on the cheek, causing him to blush.
Spike kissed me on the lips then spoke, “I’ll have it ready in a second, you can go sit down.” I did as he said, grabbing my tea on the way. As I sat down, I turned the T.V. on to “Equestria Morning News” A woman with light golden skin and creamy orange hair stood in front of a green screen, but on the green screen was a weather report.
She pointed at the day, Sunday, August 15. She then started speaking, “Today, the weather will be nice and sunny, a perfect day.” She smiled. Spike walked into the living room and gave me my plate. The woman then looked surprised, “Oh, what’s this? We have a special message from Gleam to Spike.” The green screen flashed for a moment and then there was a message.
My voice came from the T.V. and from my mouth at the same time, “I love you, Spike. Happy one year anniversary.”
Spike smiled, and leaned on my. He started crying, “Oh, thank you Gleam!” He said as he clung to me.
I smiled as he did this. I placed one hand under his chin and raised his face, “Oh, sweetie, don’t cry.” I said and planted a deep kiss on his lips. He wrapped his arms around mine, kissing me back. We did this for a couple minutes. “If you think this is good, just wait till you see what I have planned for later.”
Spike was still crying, “I… I…”
I put a finger to his lips, “Shh, don’t say anything.” I said with a smile. “Just finish your breakfast, okay?”
Spike nodded, “O-okay.” He said. His cheeks where a bright red as he sat down. We both started eating and we smiled at each other as time went on. After we finished, I did the dishes.
I walked back to Spike, “Get dressed sweetie, we have a busy day ahead of us.” I smiled.
~~ 3 hours later about 11:00 am Equestria Standard Time~~
I had taken Spike to the park. I had a picnic basket in one hand, and I held his hand with my free one. We where chatting about our jobs. At 19, we lead very busy lives.
Spike had a job, and he had collage too, but for me, I had only one job, but it was very demanding. I took an online collage course, so, that was actually very easy. Finally, we where both glad to be able to have some time alone. I pointed to a secluded little spot down by the lake, “Wanna go there?” I asked Spike.
Spike nodded, “Sure.” His cheeks where slightly red.
I led spike down to the spot, making sure everything was safe, and instructing him where to go, we soon made it down. I smiled, “So, this spot good?” I asked and looked around. No one would be able to see us unless they came really close.
Again, Spike nodded, “Yeah, this is good.” We started setting up. I set the blanket down on the shore. Spike sat down on the blanket as I finished setting up. I smiled as I looked inside the box.
I looked up at Spike, “Oh, hey, I forgot something…” Spike looked at me with a quizzical look. I pulled a rose out of the box; it was a deep red, almost the same color as blood. The petals looked like silk, “I picked it while you where getting ready.”
Spoke was amazed, “W-wow… I-it’s beautiful.”
I smiled, blushing a little, “Yeah, just like you.” Spikes cheeks turned a dark red. I leaned down and kissed him softly, our lips pressing lightly against each other. We kissed for a few minutes.
The sun was now high in the sky. Spike and I had started eating. He where laughing and playing around. We striped down to our underwear and got into the water. We splashed around for about an hour. We never got deeper than our thighs. After that, we went back to the blanket and lied down. Spike cuddled up to me and soon he fell asleep. I woke him up about 1:30 and he yawned cutely, “What’s up?” He asked.
I smiled at him, “Hey, Spike, you love me, right?” My heart was pounding in my chest.
Spike looked at me, “Of course I love you… I love you with all my heart.”
My heart only sped up, thumping loudly, “W-well…” I adjusted myself so that I was on one knee. I reached into the pocket of my shorts, and produced a small semi-rounded box. I opened it and inside was a diamond ring.
Spikes eyes widened, “S-Spike… Will you marry me?”
I asked him, my voice shaking horribly.
He started crying, and he hugged me tightly, almost knocking me over. He spoke through his sobs, “Oh, Gleam! Yes, yes, yes! A thousand times yes! I’ll marry you!”
I hugged him back, I too was speechless. I too started crying. I spoke between my sobs, my voice choking up, “Th-thank you S-Spike… You’ve made me the happiest man on Equestria!” I fell backwards, holding Spike close to me. “I promise never to let you go.” I said as he hugged me tighter. His tears streaking down his face, my shoulder and parts of my back and chest. We stayed on there until late in the night. I packed away the food and stuff. Spike had fallen asleep on me and I put him on the sand. After I finished packing, I put the ring on his finger. I picked him and the basket up, and I started walking home. The walk was only about 20 minutes. I walked inside and set him on the couch. I put the leftovers away, and the blanket in the dirty clothes hamper. I carried spike into the bedroom and set him on the bed. The clock read 10:56 pm, “I should go to bed soon.” I mumbled to myself as I set the alarm for 7:30. “I’ll call us in sick tomorrow.” I said as I crawled into bed. I cuddled up to Spike and I was soon asleep.
~~7:30 am Monday~~
I was in the kitchen, making breakfast, and listening quietly to the radio. Spike woke up and felt the ring on his finger. He looked down at it and almost fainted. He got up and walked into the kitchen with only boxers on. I whistled at him, “Morning, Sexy.” I said, causing him to blush. He sat down on the couch in the living room. I brought him breakfast; it wasn’t anything fancy, just a simple egg breakfast. We ate together, and I gave him a quick recap of the night before.
He nodded, “O-okay…”
I looked at him, worried, “I-is something wrong?”
He looked at me, his emerald eyes meeting my sapphire ones, “Nothings wrong, sweetie.” He gave me a reassuring smile and pulled me into a meaningful kiss.
I kissed him back, wrapping my arms around his waist. I pushed him back, kissing him more. He fell backwards and I got on top of him. We kissed for a little longer before he pulled away, “S-should we get ready for work?”
I smiled, “I called us in sick.”
Spike smiled at me, “Okay, thanks.” He said, his arms around my waist.
I cuddled up to him, “When do you want to have the wedding?” I asked.
He thought for a moment, “Maybe a month or two?”
I nodded, “Yeah, sounds good. I’ll call Celestia later and I’ll tell her.” Spike nodded. I smiled as we watched T.V. for the rest pf the morning.
~~1:30 pm EST~~
I was still with Spike on the couch, but now, I had my laptop and I was already hard at work. My first priority was booking, and then I would worry about everything else. There was one spot about a month and a half from now, and I reserved it. I knew there where others, and I felt bad for them, because the next open spot wasn’t for a few months. But now, things got harder. I had to sent all the invitations, hire catering, buy a lot of things. I had a savings account that my parents had made for me when I was small, but I wasn’t sure it would cover the whole thing. I wasn’t to worried about the cost, as long as Spike was happy. I would give all the money in the world to be with Spike. I looked up at him, and he was watching T.V. still, Doctor Whooves to be exact. I smiled as I watched him for a moment. I looked up at the T.V. and I chuckled lightly as I watched. I soon went back to work. I had got the catering done, but now I needed to work on the invitations.
I looked back at Spike, “Hey, Spike, wanna help me make the invitations?”
He turned to me, “Sure.” He smiled and crawled over to me. He sat down next to me, and we started working. I smiled as I dragged pictures of us onto the invitation. I had and idea. I used our favorite colors on the invitation, creamy yellow, sea blue, purple and green. We soon finished the invitation and I looked at Spike, “I‘ll send it later.”
Spike nodded, “Okay, Sweetie.” He smiled. I closed the laptop and set it aside. Spike cuddled up to me and we watched more Doctor Whooves.
I looked at Spike, “H-hey… Spike… Do you wanna wear a wedding dress?” I asked him, I was blushing madly at the thought of Spikes figure in a wedding dress.
Spike blushed too, “Uh… S-sure.” He said. I nodded and kissed his forehead. He smiled as cuddled up to me. I ran a hand through his hair, feeling his soft green hair flow through my fingers. He wrapped his arms around me, and I smiled. For the rest of the day, we stayed there until late at night. We had a nice dinner that we both cooked and then we went to the room and fell asleep in each others arms.
~~November 1st 10:00 am EST~~
I sat in my room at the castle, waiting. I had mixed emotions. I was so happy exited, yet somehow, fearful. I tried to wipe away everything from my mind, but I just couldn’t. I was shaking lightly when someone walked into my room. The voice was timid, “H-hello?” Asked the voice.
“Hi Fluttershy.” I said.
She walked over to me, and sat next to me on the bed, “I-I just came to congratulate you.” She smiled her weak but meaningful smile.
I nodded, “Th-thanks.” I smiled back. She got up and left the room. Twilight was next one in.
She noticed my shaking as she walked over to me. She sat down next to me and a hand on my hand, “Calm down, Gleam, it will be alright.” She said. The touch of her hand had calmed me down. She continued speaking, “And Rarity won’t come by until after, she is helping Spike with his dress.” Twilight smiled. She laughed a little, “I remember when he was young and helping me around the library.” She smiled.
I looked at her. I wrapped my arms around her, “Thank you, Twilight. You where always there to help Spike when he was young. Thank you so much.” I said, crying a little.
Twilight gave me a tissue and I used it, “It was my pleasure.” She said.
We talked for a little before she left. The next person to come was Rainbow, then AJ, and lastly Pinkie. They all congratulated me. Pinkie talked about throwing us a party when we got back to Ponyville. I accepted her offer. Before I knew it, Luna called me out of the room and to the alter. I stood there as my family and Spikes family gathered in the pews. Soon, Spike walked out. I smiled at him and thought, ‘Wow… He looks beautiful.’
The wedding march played as he walked down the aisle and up to the alter.
Celestia smiled and opened up a small book, “Stallions and Colts, we are gathered here, to unite these two lovers in a holy bond. The two of them have written their own vows.”
I smiled, “Spike, I promise to love you through thick and thin. I’ll keep you by my side for as long as we live. No matter what happens to you, I’ll be by your side.” Sniffling could be heard from the people in the pews.
Spike wiped his eye, “Gleam, I promise to never let go of you. I will love you no matter what we go through. I’ll never let you go, nothing will be able to tear you apart from me.” People started sobbing. The ring bearers brought us the rings.
Celestia started speaking again, “Spike, do you take Gleam to be you husband?”
Spike nodded, “I do.” I put the ring on his finger.
Celestia looked at me, “And, Gleam, do you take Spike to be your husband?”
I too nodded, “I do.”
Celestia smiled, “By the power invested in me by the sun and the stars, I now pronounce you, husband and husband. You may now kiss.”
I lifted the veil off of Spikes face, and then I pulled him towards me and kissed him passionately. Everyone started cheering. We pulled away and held hands. I held his ring hand, and he held mine. We walked down the aisle and back to my room. Spike smiled and started stripping; I blushed and helped him out of the dress. Rarity burst in and she helped too. She had made a tux for him to wear, and he put it on. She started to babble on about how happy she was for us. Spike and me ignored her and held hands. We where lost in each others eyes. Rarity finally pulled us out of the room, snapping us out of our trance. She took us to the after-party. Everyone cheered. We cut the cake and everyone had a good time. The party lasted till about 9:30 that night, I stayed with Spike the whole time. I just thought to myself, ‘None of this would be possible if it wasn’t for that first night…’
