Once upon a time, Equestria fell to the changelings. A resistance rose up to overthrow the swarm, but the scars remain. Now the survivors train a new generation for an upcoming war, Shining Armor being a war hero who serves as one of these commanders, determined to seek out the hives hidden deep underground.

Yet this is only the beginning of their troubles, as portions of other worlds are drawn into this one, alongside old allies and enemies scattered across the multiverse, who converge to face the apparent return of Queen Chrysalis...

At the same time a traveler across dimensions and her allies seek help in a world where Sombra helped save the land, made an alliance with Dragon Lord Spike, and fathered children who have risen up to become heroes in their own right. Eventually they converge on the changeling world, with one of these soldiers unaware that Shining Armor is his father!

Note: This tale is spun off from the story Undeath and Rebirth, which I suggest you read up to chapter 5 before this one for better context.
