On the planet Earth, an AI Nicknamed 'ESTER' was created. It sounded better then AMIRCEOS (Artificial and Mechanical Intelligence for Research and Colonial Expansion of Other Systems), that's for certain. With this incredible artificial intelligence, the humans opted to immediately toss their new pride and joy into a blackhole. Obviously being cut off from AMIRCEOS, the humans could only hope it found its way to another universe. Preferably one with life, because AMIRCEOS only had about 300 years of idle power. Luckily it comes across a planet with intelligent life - an Equine kind. And various others of course, old and new to AMIRCEOS.
