A strange magical disturbance was discovered in the Everfree, Rainbow Dash was tasked to fly too and report anything but as she arrived and saw nothing, a black cloud attacked her and took control using Rainbow to collect souls so it can overthrow someone named X.

But following close behind, Scootaloo fearing for the safety of her idol and friend rushes into the forest to see if Rainbow was okay, but with the land of Equestria falling into disarray and countless ponies being murdered it's up to Scootaloo and the Main Six to stop the demon and save Rainbow.
