Last Daughter of Equestria

“It’s strange.”

“What is?”



“Everything.”

Sunset was staring at her outstretched hand, watching her digits reflexively curl and uncurl. She’d had them for years, long enough to write, type, play guitar, and more. Long enough to see them effortlessly as hers.

But ever since the day they’d closed the portal forever, those fingers had felt as wrong as when she’d first reached this world.

“I never thought being human would feel weird again,” Sunset mumbled.

Beside her, Twilight reached out her own hand, interlocking fingers with Sunset. “It’s strange for me too. Without magic.”

“Yeah but… you’re from here. I… I’m still just… I know I chose this, but—”

She broke down, and Twilight hugged her tight.

“I’m the only one… the only thing left of Equestria here…”

She buried her hornless head into Twilight’s shoulder, as her soul leaked out of her alien body in wet globs.
