Sweetie perused down the aisle of the Super Green Mart as she had done many times. She was never really looking for anything in particular, just trying to see whatever caught her eyes. She didn’t have to eat, after all. She was a robot, a really advanced one anyway. She had been developed in some faraway facility to protect the denizens of Canterlot and its surrounding municipalities as violent crime increased dramatically in recent years. Though by the time she had rolled out things had gone back down to normal, where only a few terrible things occurred every other year, really putting a damper on the ponies that had created her.
There were plans to have entire miniature armies of Sweetie Bots roaming about Equestria keeping peace and whatnot. Sadly, she was the lone prototype that existed. For now, she would complete her duty to the best of her abilities.
“Now just get on the ground and shut up!”
Ooh! A new customer!
“Put it all in the bag and get to the next one!”
An industrious fellow he is too.
Sweetie got into a low stance, peaking her head around a corner to see the poor fool who decided to rob a convenience store tonight. Just barely poking her head out, Sweetie spotted the stallion and his victim, a poor small unicorn mare who was probably just working there as a summer job off of school. She was bawling her eyes out as she systematically went from register to register in the store and scooped hoovefuls of bits into a canvas bag.
“A-lright-O…” Sweetie whispered quietly to herself, pulling herself back out of view. She once again went looking through the aisle, a bit faster than before, looking for anything messy and distracting. Recently she had tried to take a more fun approach to her monotonous job, and oftentimes tried to take a more creative approach to law enforcement, much to the dismay to her superiors.
Pickles. No, to big. Soap.. naw. To slippery.
Sweetie continued skimming the shelves, noting how the cashier only seemed to be getting more frantic and dazed as she took her sweet time looking.
Aaaaand… there!
Sweetie whisked two jars off the shelf, a jumbo-sized jar of mayonnaise and chocolate sprinkles, sure to make a splash at your next holdup.
Having acquired her weapons of choice, Sweetie snuck around the other side of the aisle and over to a good vantage point on a stack of apples that never seemed to be bought, where she could see the stallion and the mare, almost having completed their rounds. There she floated
the jar of mayo and sprinkles behind the criminal and started exuding creepy noises. The lights started to flicker and she made a deep rumbling call to the stallion.
“Who are you that has the gall to plunder the innocent and defenseless?”
“Ah! What was that?!”
The stallion understandably swung around pretty quick, putting his eyes right on the ominous figure who glowed with green eyes in the dark of the store atop a mountain of apples.
“What are you!?”
Sweetie laughed heartily. “Me? I am a protector of the weeeeak!”

As the thick white paste fell on the robber, Sweetie could barely contain her laughter. The sprinkles made the brown unicorn look like an over-sized mayonnaise-flavored ice cream cone.
Sadly, the stallion did not have the same sense of humor. He quickly shook the mayo off of his face, grappling the cashier by the neck and pulling out a small pistol from his saddlebags, not-so-gently pressing the metal to the screeching mares head. Sweetie ceased her laughter and teleported in front of the duo, ready for business. She had hoped it wouldn’t come to this, and that the robber would just give up at her show of force.
Ain’t no rest for the wicked, I suppose…
“Get away from me ! I’ll blow her brains out, I swear!”
Sweetie could see the store switch from a mellow green to a deep red as her eyes changed color.
“Let her go. Now.”
He didn’t budge. Instead, a s he had promised, the magic around the pistol was restricting the trigger mechanism, and the stallion had no qualms about taking the life of this mare.
You see, Sweetie Bot's armament was not simply a taser and small caliber machine gun as planned for the mass production units. Instead, as a prototype designed to show off everything the platform was capable of, Sweetie was equipped with all of the special weapons and gadgets that had been thought of by her creators. Fire extinguishers, giant nets, even more mundane things like a grappling hook, even though she could teleport. The weapon of choice this time though was a tiny little panel rocket on her right hoof that was the only thing that could deploy fast enough to stop the stallion from redecorating the Super Green Mart to the Super Red Mart.
You asked for it, chump.
As quick as a bullet, the miniature rocket lodged itself into the stallions forehead, his body constricting as the pistol fell to the floor, harmless as ever. His final thoughts must have been ’What is this thing!?’
Tick.. tick… BOOM!
"Ha! Did you see that!?"
Before the stallion could even hit the ground, his head exploded as the charge in the rocket finally reached its end, cover Sweetie and the mare in assorted bits of brain and skull. She really liked that little rocket in her hoof.
“Guess they will be redecorating anyway, hehe. Are you okay ma’am?”
Sweetie turned to the mare with a smile, standard procedure, though no smile could console the look of pure terror and shock painted on her face. It was a look Sweetie had seen all to many times, and it never got easier to see.
“Get away from me!”
“Ma’am, I just saved your li-”
“You just killed him!”
“He was going to kill you, ma’am.”
“You… you monster!”
“I was just doing my job-”
“You MONSTER!”
“I-I...”
“YOU MONSTER!”
