The Daily Life Of A Farmer And His Cosmic Entity
The First Day Of School
Previous ChapterMcIntosh Apple woke up with a smile. Today was his first day of school. He was looking forward to meeting new ponies and hopefully even making a few friends. He hopped off the bed and quickly changed his clothes. Mac then made his way downstairs to the kitchen. As he did, he could already smell the Apple Cinnamon Pancakes and Eggs. Mac smiled as he came into view of the kitchen and saw a fresh stack already on the table. His father was at the stove, working on the eggs now. As Mac took a seat, his father took notice of him.
“Looks like someones up bright and early, but I wonder why?” His father smirked as he looked over his shoulder, watching Mac take some of the pancakes.
Mac smiled as he looked to his dad, “Thats cause today is my first day of school, I can't wait to meet everypony.” Mac said as he proceeded to butter up his pancakes. Once buttered he added a generous amount of syrup to them. “Where’s mom?”
Mac's father smiled as he walked over and put some eggs on Mac's plate. “Shes out in the field, and once your done with breakfast and washed up, shell meet you at the gate to take you to school.” Macs father explained as he watched his some make a mess of himself. “And slow down, you have plenty of time.” Macs father then took a seat at the table and began to eat his own pancakes and eggs.
Once Mac was done with breakfast he made his way to the bathroom. Mac walked into the bathroom and then pulled out the small stool in front of the sink and stood up on it. As he looked at himself in the mirror, his initial excitement began to die down, and now he was worried. What if no pony liked him. What if he embarrassed himself. Mac looked down and turned on the sink. He wished he had a friend to go to the first day of school with. Then maybe it wouldn't be so scary. As he was washing his face he heard something. Mac looked around, trying to find the source of the noise. When he saw nothing, Mac looked back down and got back to washing his face. When he was drying his face off he heard the voice again. This time Mac looked up and into the mirror. He knew he had heard a voice, and it was starting to scare him.
“Do not be afraid, child.” The voice said to Mac. Mac looked around, he had definitely heard a voice in his head. When he couldnt find them, he looked back to the mirror shaking.
“Wh-Wh-Who are you?” Mac asked cautiously. He was afraid, but his dad told him that as an apple, he must always be brave. Mac heard soft laughter coming from his head.
“My name is Lacus Virtutis, and I am the friend you wished for.” The voice explained to Mac. Mac looked down, trying to think about this. He had made imaginary friends before, but this was the first one that talked back to him.
“Yall really be my friend, Virtutis?” Mac asked, unsure of how to pronounce the name, but hoping that he had got it right.
Lacus stalled himself from lashing out at this child for butchering his name. They calmed down, knowing that first they needed to gain this childs trust. “Please, call me V young McIntosh Apple.”
Mac smiled as he began to brush his teeth. He had made a friend. Sure they were imaginary, but it was a start. Who knows, maybe V could help him make more friends. Once he was done, Mac spat and then rinsed his mouth out with water. “Well then V, call me Mac.”
Virtutis smirked to himself. This was gonna be easy. He would shape this child into the ideal and perfect conqueror. They watched as this child hopped off the stool and made their way out of the house. Mac grabbed his backpack that he had packed the day before and the lunch his father had made for him. Once outside Mac stopped and smiled as he closed his eyes and took a deep breath. Once done Mac opened his eyes and then looked towards the rocking chair on the porch. There he saw his Granny rocking back and forth, knitting a new quilt. Granny seemed to take notice and smiled. “Have fun at school Mac, and remember to behave yourself.” Granny said as she looked towards Mac.
“I will Granny.” Mac said as he waved goodbye and began to walk towards their farm's gate. Mac looked around as he walked. Looking at all the trees that his family worked so hard to maintain. As Mac Walked, V took the time to take in the surroundings. It appeared that this Mac was a farmer. Maybe he could be tempted with land or riches. Once the gate was in sight, Mac began to pick up his pace. At the gate was a woman, who could only be Mac's mother. The woman smiled when she saw the young colt running up towards her. Once close enough, Mac leaped into the woman's arms. The woman smiled as she spun Mac around a little, before setting him back down.
“Someones excited for their first day of school.” The woman said as she looked down at Mac.
“Yeah, I cant wait to meet everypony and make friends.” Mac said as he hopped up and down. “Now come on Mom, I don't wanna be late.” Mac’s mather could only laugh as she walked with her child down the dirt road and into the Town of Ponyville.
V looked around through the mirror as they entered the town. This was the first time that V had seen the town. It was rather small, though that would only mean it would be easily conquered. For now they needed to observe this town and see what all it could offer or if it needed to be destroyed.
Mac smiled brighter as he looked around and saw so many new ponies. His mother only smiled as she watched over Mac. As they got closer to the school, his mother stopped him and kneeled down in front of Mac. “Now Mac, I want you to be on your best behavior, and no matter what happens. I want you to know that me, your dad, and granny will always love you.”
Mac listened to his mother and nodded each time he needed to. Once she was done, he pulled her into a tight embrace. Mac's mother smiled as she returned the hug. “I love you Mom.”
“I love you too.” Mac's mother then broke the embrace and stood up “Now go on and enjoy your first day.” Mac nodded and left for the school. Mac made his way through the other children and to his classroom. Once there he took a seat in the Back. V looked around at all the other children.
“Now then, let us see which of these children shall become our subordinates,” V said to Mac.
“What are subor-subor-subor,” V saw the trouble that Mac was going through with this word. It would seem he had a lot of work to do. In order to make Mac into a conqueror, they would need to work on not just his physical capabilities, but also his mental capabilities as well.
“It means friends, young Mac.” V explained; to which Mac smiled, looking forward to all the friends that he would make. “In fact, I believe that all those in this land could eventually become your friends.”
