I was number 1,776 of batch 'H' of assassin androids built under Las Vegas, my designated title was H-1776 andy designated human name was Jade. I was given my first target; Doctor Ohm, PhD in Computer Engineering and Biochemistry, word was he was a traitor and needed to be put down. Rumors were also saying that the Wonderbolts were protecting him and the soldiers under the four princesses had been set to high alert for potential threats.
"H-1776, your assignment is isolate the threat and kill it....make it look like an accident." Nodding I went to the armory to acquire my weapons and also to the ID department to have them build me a feasible background. Most of my figure was human, but I had a cyborg arm and my eyes though they looked normal, were feeding my mind's integrated computer system all the Intel on those around me. Besides my arm and my eyes my lower half was cyborg and that allows me to run about as fast as a hypercar. I was issued a slim Sign Sauer P226 semiautomatic pistol and a folding Kershaw brand knife as an EDC (everyday carry) blade.
My background they assigned me was a burn victim from a fire, which would explain the reason for my long sleeves and the glove on my left hand. Apparently I was also given the background of being a street racer. I pulled my hair into a loose braid and dyed a portion of it a nice dark purple. I went to the Transportation Department and acquired a hatchback that was a beater vehicle. A beater is what is best described as rusty old car, which I was gonna tune up.
Up top I drove my beater Honda Civic hatchback around the block and the clutch was failing....gonna have to fix this shitty car for sure. I was pulling through a green light when I was cut off and had to slam the brake....and clutch to prevent the vehicle from stalling. "Hey dumbass! I'm driving here!" Sticking my arm out the window gave the rude ass the finger and blared my horn.
The dude stopped and got out of his car and he held a sawed off baseball bat. All I had in my car was a Lug bar for removing the lug nuts off my wheels. According to his Intel my system had on him he was not worth the fight, he was a college drop out, dishonorable discharge from the army and also he was handicapped from an injury at a former place of employment. He didn't move so I had to confront him.
"Bitch! As a man I demand respect and you gotta give it to me!"
"Says the guy who ran a red light and almost caused a wreck....by the way want to run the risk of going to jail for assault? If so.....take the shot and I won't swing back, as adults I figure we can just drive away." The spat on me and took his swing. I blocked with my left forearm and the resounding clank of wood on metal met his ears. Rotating my hand I gripped his bat and he couldn't free it from my grasp. My free hand I dropped my tool and performed a palm strike to his wind pipe and he dropped like a brick. Picking up the Lug Bar again I turned on my heel and got back into my car and drove off. I don't know for certain why I am packing the pistol since my arm was built with a fine gun of it's own, built like nuclear reactor that fired a projectiles like a railgun.
I reached what was to be my 'house', it was a modest place with the tools for a backyard mechanic set up. I entered the dwelling, the scent of dead rat met my olfactory senses and I had no damned ideas on how to cook..... technically but it was programmed into my CPU. The wood floor was scratched, the tiled countertops chipped slightly in a couple of spots but decent. Best I could see of my neighbors were mostly people about my age.....then there was that house a few down from mine with three black cars and I could tell that they were government from the spotlights on either side and the massive bash bars on the front bumpers.
My target was close...Ohm was close or it was his assistant which they failed to inform of was also M.I.A, the assistant was Dr. Hewitt (same PhD fields). I sat on my porch drinking a beer that was in my fridge, only one vehicle pulled up to my interested house and out stepped Twilight Sparkle and her friends out of that minivan Sparkle was driving....out of those usual seven there was another I hadn't seen before in my database and it was Indigo Zapp. Odd enough then a small coupe pulled up and it driven by Zapp's friend Lemon Zest. Could read their lips from my distance vaguely as they stood and Twilight was facing toward me. Bingo! They were visiting Hewitt himself. Acting like I didn't give a fuck I saw in my peripheral vision Sunset Shimmer glancing at me and she seemed concerned. After a couple of hours of tidying up the house I was interrupted by Sparkler and her friends.
"Your new here?"
"I am just moved in and realized I got a ton of free stuff in here."
"This house once housed a murder victim and the family just sold it off. We tell you this because this neighborhood is a bit rough."
"Eh, it shot me fine and besides I ain't worth killing. My paycheck says that." Sliding a pay stub it was good enough to get them to think I was legit. Then there was that pink one....I feel like she knows about me.
3AM
I snuck into the house a few down from mine with the black SUVs. There were two guards outside in the front and two in the backyard at the backdoor. I knocked the men out in the front with a swift left hook and uppercut; I went around to the back and saw the two guards and I I softly and yet quietly ran up to them and knocked them out. Once inside I found my target awake and studying. "You've come for me I see, before you shoot me with the Sig you carry let me weave a story. The H-Class such as your self were designed to kill the Royal sisters and the other two princesses. My commerade Dr. Ohm learned of this and told me so we bailed....but we tried to persuade the upper arch of command but they wanted to to silence us. Before we left we planted a defect code in one H-Class assassin.....and it was you. All the others would've gunned us down by now, but we programmed you to hear reason and to think for yourself and learn from interactions with other humans and learn from reactions from others."
What he told me sounded true, that's when I found in my code was data about the place that built me.....the place that built me were crime-lords who were trying to topple society.
"I believe Dr. Hewitt, problem is my mission objective was due to be complete in two hours and I can't pull the trigger now. Can you override my commands from your device?"
"Ohm and I programmed you to decide for yourself.....you have it in you to override by deciding in two hours to kill me or not." It was now 5:30AM and the guards all rushed in and we're signaled not to shoot. Holstering my gun I turned to leave. Glancing over my shoulder I left with a parting comment:
"Your code has given me a freedom..... and I will use it to to find Ohm and bring him here and I'll have to protect you myself." The GPS tracker built into my arm I saw that military personnel were very close and saw two more androids show up.....they were from the S-class....which was the suicide class and they looked like polygon shapes masses and built to detonate on target. In the house I found a spare rifle and I took it. I sent a text to Hewitt about the incoming mobile bombers and I took a position in the living room knowing that the bombers would come through the doors. The rifle I held a a submachine class field piece.....this gun was a MP5 and I liked how it felt in my hand. At any rate the first bomber jumped through the window and shot it down and used my built in high voltage stungun to short out the droid. One down one more to go. The 2nd one blitzed up the stairs and I gave chase and tackled it on the landing. I shorted his system out and soon found myself staring into the bore of a rifle from Captain Shining Armor. My braid was coming undone and it hung limp in my face. Hewitt showed with the guards and told him what had transpired.
They decided to enlist me and gave me time to process the offer. I guess I have only one choice at this point.
Target Acquired (Revised)
H-1776-1080 stood with the others of her class and was just finished getting programmed to adapt to it's surroundings.
I stood in a long line of H-Class androids and we were being taught a new emotion that day. Our software was an adaptive and experimental sort of technology. I was the one thousand eightieth one of batch number one thousand seven hundred seventy six; my software registered what was supposed to be a joke.....the others switched to an automated and yet fake laugh. At the time I didn't know how to respond, faulty programming I guess my software instinctively tilted my head. The two men who stood in front of me looked worried and I could here them speaking. I asked in what my voice was programmed to sound like (it sounding a tad bit of a New England accent). "Did I fail?"
"1776-1080....you didn't fail, somehow you have exceeded our expectations." That didn't make sense so I shrugged like I had seen other humans do when they didn't know how to respond to statements. One my own hadn't budged, then it simply walked off, two others had done the same thing and were shut down and terminated. Over the next few months we had learned basic human behavior and responses, such as how to react to an awkward joke or scenario.y code had at the time also had programmed the question what am I good for? The question to my existence appeared as well then 'Assignment Day' hit and I learned my purpose and what my task was.
The two men from my creation had gone and I was told they had defected to the enemy and I was to find them and eliminate them.y targets were Dr. Ohm and Dr. Hewitt technical geniuses and had Intel I was also to retrieve on a small flashdrive.
My cover was to be assigned to me and what the humans called a car was also designed along with a single blade and firearm. My cover was a an auto technician, and specialized on working with Mercedes because my targets drove those cars. I was soon released to the surface. I began to walk like how I saw the humans do to act carefree. My attire I had chosen for day one on the surface of our city which was Las Vegas....which my Intel said that it had found that a rave as to go down so with such participants I now blended in.
Day 36
Thirty-six days and I had picked up many curse words and many habits and terms for different things. Even though I look human I am not even close. Some human said I looked hot...which in their terminology I learned meant attractive. I had found one of two targets, Dr. Hewitt stood about ten yards with a Starbucks coffee which was his norm from what I've seen for his 10AM routine. For a fool to be hiding he sucks at it....the term I had learned from the human bipeds meant that he was really bad at it. All I need to do now is find a to 'befriend' him so he will trust me then I will pop off the traitor who knows too much. My sensors picked up his heartbeat rate and he was very nervous as he began to walk away.
He doesn't know I am hunting him, unless my organization sent two of us out to get the traitors. My database of how humans act and react began to show some irregularities which I just suppressed. Hewitt kept glancing over his shoulder while had kept moving around my target so he won't see me. He came to his car and he swore when he saw the tire I ha slashed earlier. I of course walked up and offered to help and gave him one of my phony business cards. As I put the jack under the car near a pinch weld I placed a device which would shut his car down once he hit sixty mile an hour. Why that speed is because I knew from our location that he'd get to the highway to get home. I was banking on a car wreck and the incident killing him and a few others to make it a freak accident.
Once the task was done and he handed me the human currency of cash he drove off but not before I had the chance to speak. "Drive safely Dr. Hewitt and that code you used my software has overwritten it already." He froze as my device took over his vehicle and he was unable to stop it or use his phone.y software had hacked the cameras to the highway and I saw everything and even from the camera of his phone; the car skid to a halt doing sixty and at that moment a semi hit his car and which had a domino effect. Hewitt's car was creamed, and from a dash cam my software had hacked saw Hewitt dead from a pick up with a two by four inch board having slid into Hewitt's car and puncturing a whole through the front of his skull. Now I need to find Ohm, which from past observances he was fond of certain foods but being in hiding I had to now hunt via small neighborhoods with houses with multiple SUVs and little or no traffic in or out of them.
Ohm
I found Ohm eventually as he had moved to a town between Vegas and Reno. The safe house showed very little signs of life and no way out besides the doors and the garage. I pulled from data bases Ohm's past life.....there was my ticket, I simply pose as his daughter. She and I looked alike. Now according to my database the daughter died a month ago....in the wreck I caused to kill Hewitt. I had all the information so I had to choose another excuse to get inside....I'll pose as a friend just checking up on the family.
I approached the house and and talked to the guards about letting me inside. Dr. Ohm finally let me in and once I saw him in the Den, he held a shotgun. The fool was being cautious and he knows I'm bulletproof, so I guess it was an intentional means of signalling for help. I played my role easily enough, and I would need just a few more times to gain his trust then I'll eliminate him.
