Maretime Bay, 2:00pm
In the city of Maretime Bay, the earth ponies, pegasus, and unicorns of the city were all seen having a peaceful stroll and a friendly chat with one another in this beautiful city of the earth ponies. It has been two days after they picked up the pieces from the ordeal that struck Maretime Bay due to their hatred and envy against one another but thankfully, they all managed to get back along with the help of the mane five, a goldendoodle puppy, and two colts.
In a large bedroom located in the newly renovated Crystal bright house. A young eight years old colt named Chase Trailblazer son to Hitch and Sunny Trailblazer was seen in his room playing an online racing game on his videogame console after having to have finished all his exams at school along with Bright and his fellow classmates.
"I'm gonna win Bright!" Chase exclaimed as his character neared the finished line.
"No you're not!" Bright exclaimed trying to catch up. But, it was too late Chase's character crossed the finish line meaning that he has won.
"Woohoo! I win again!" Chase said in victory raising his hooves in the air.
"Oh darn! Anyways, congratulations Chase, you're truly a master at this videogame." Bright said chuckling at his gaming headset which he uses to connect with Chase back home.
"Thanks Bright, and dont worry I know that you'll win next time." Chase told him. "Anyways, wanna play a second round?" He asked.
"Sure!"
Chase then attempted to quit the game in order to start another round, but, that all stopped when he heard a knocking on his bedroom door.
"Chasey, are you in there?"
Chase immediately paused the game when he heard this mother calling him from the front door, he then decided to quit the game and play with Bright next time.
"Sorry Bright, lets procrastinate the match until tomorrow alright? My mom is calling me." Chase told him.
"Alright, goodbye."
"Goodbye." Chase said as he ended the call and turned off his videogame console. After that, he made his way to the front door of his bedroom. Once he got to it, he opened the door and saw both his parents.
"Daddy! Mommy!" Chase exclaimed happily as they hugged them, and they hugged back.
"Hello there champ." Hitch said.
"Hello dad, hello mom, you two are back early, is there something wrong?" Chase asked.
"Well not technically but, we do have something exhilarating that we want to announce to you son." She told him which made Chase nonplussed.
"Oh, what is it?"
"Close your eyes first." Hitch told him.
Chase was perplexed by his father's order at first but, he shrugged it off and complied anyways so, he closed his eyes and awaited for them to reveal the surprise to him.
"Now, open them."
Chase opened his eyes to see something that made his eyes widen in surprise. In front of him was a bright green coloured baby dragon with wings who was seen reaching out to him happily. Dragons have not been seen in Equestria for centuries!
"Whoa a dragon?! Dragon's have not been seen in Equestria for centuries." Chase said with an astonished expression. "Where did you find it dad?" He asked.
"Your father found him on the beach when he was in an egg day ago during Maretime Bay day." Sunny told him.
"Wow, that is awesome."
"Indeed, he will be your little brother now." Hitch told him which made him surprised.
"Wow, that's awesome! What's his name?"
"Sparky."
"Hello Sparky, I'm Chase, your big brother." Chase greeted, and Sparky replied by grabbing his muzzle. "Ow, those are some sharp claws." He mumbled which made his parents laugh.
Other than that, Chase thinks that this is the start of an awesome brotherhood bond. Or so he thinks it is.
9:50pm
It is night time now in Maretime Bay, and the ponies of the city were all seen going back to their houses for dinner on the table. In the Crystal Bright house however, Chase was seen going down the pathway of his, his aunts, uncle Sprout, and parents newly renovated home with a videgame controller in his right hoof because, it was game night tonight. Sunny and Hitch both promised this exuberant event with their son Chase after their work which made him exhilarated because, this is a perfect time for bonding.
Once Chase got down to the living room, he looked to his left and saw his parents in the kitchen feeding a baby milk bottle to the baby dragon Sparky.
"Mommy! Daddy! Do you know what time it is?" Chase asked with an excited expression however, his parents did not respond which made him perplexed. So, he decides to call them again. "Mommy? Daddy? Do you know-"
"Quiet Chase, you might make Sparky choke on the milk." Sunny informed sternly.
"Yeah son, infants have to be careful when they eat or drink." Hitch told him.
"Oh, sorry. But, tonight's game night remember?"
"Yes we know but, we cannot play games with you tonight because we have to look after Sparky." Sunny told him. "Why don't you ask your aunts Zipp, Pipp or Izzy to play with you instead?" She suggested.
"But, they're all busy right now though." He reminded them. "Only you two are available right now. You two could bring Sparky to my room and have him watch us play as well." He suggested.
"Chase, Sparky is still an infant remember. He cannot comprehend any of these technologies you use, he might get terrified of the videogame content." Sunny said logically. "Why don't you go and play by yourself in your room and we'll wait until next time to play?" She suggested.
"But you two-"
"Son, that's enough." Hitch told him sternly, and Chase stopped talking. "Go to your room now." He ordered.
Chase sighed depressingly before turning around and walking back up to his bedroom while Sunny and Hitch continued to feed Sparky the milk. Once the young colt made it to his bedroom, he pulled the door open and entered, closing the door behind him in the process. After that, he tossed his videogame controller on his couch and walked to his bed, when he got to it, he turned around and lied down on his bed, letting our a sigh in the process.
At this moment, Chase's dog Ryder walked to his bed, jumped on it and began to nuzzle his friend on his right cheek.
"At least I have you for company in my own bedroom." Chase said patting Ryder in the head.
The next day
On a dirt track, a young earth pony colt named Chase Trailblazer was seen making his way back to his home after receiving his exam report card which he got all grade A'S once again just like Bright due to how hard they study before exams.
"Alright, another successful term at school!" Chase said looking at his report card with a satisfied expression. "I cannot wait to show this to my parents." He finished with an exhilarated expression.
Once he got to the front doors of his house, he pushed them open and began to look for his parents. When he looked to his right, he has found them on the couch watching TV with Sparky while he was seen resting on his mother Sunny's lap as she was patting his head.
"Mommy! Daddy!" Chase called as he ran to the couch. Once he got to it, he began to show them his report card behind them "Mommy, daddy look! I got all straight A'S again at school!" He told them in an excited tone. However, Sunny and Hitch did not respond to their son due to them being to preoccupied with watching TV and taking care of Sparky.
"Mommy, daddy, I-"
"Not now Chase, this is an important show that we're watching, why don't you go to your room?" Sunny asked him.
Chase sighed in depression again before walking up to his bedroom door again to rest up and prepare for summer. While walking, he was immediately greeted by his aunt Zipp who was contented to see him again.
"Hello Chase, how are you-"
Zipp was not able to finish her sentence as the young colt threw his report card down on the floor and locked himself in his bedroom in a depressed way, making her surprised. Zipp grabbed the report card from the floor and checked it to see that Chase has once again scored all A pluses in his exams which made her impressed of his educational skills. She looked down at Sunny and Hitch who were watching TV with Sparky and then back to Chase who was in his bedroom for a brief second then came to a conclusion to what was going on.
"Poor Chase."
7:00pm
It was night-time now in Maretime Bay and everypony were seen beginning to call it a day except for a couple of other stores in the town.
In the Crystal Bright house, Sunny and Hitch were seen in the living giving Sparky to their son Chase to hold while he was sitting on the table reading a book.
"Chase, mommy and daddy are going to have to have a meeting with your aunts. Therefore, we need you to look after Sparky for us while we prepare to walk out okay?" Sunny requested.
"Yes mother." Chase replied with a nod.
"Good, come on Hitchy let's go."
"You got it Sunny."
"Wait, a second dad, mom."
Sunny and Hitch both stopped on their tracks and turned around to look at their son Chase.
"Yes?"
"Mommy, daddy, if you two don't mind, do you think that you could buy me a new videogame that was released today please?" Chase asked in a kind tone.
"And that is?"
"Pony kart advanced." Chase replied.
"Ugh Chase, you know how expensive those latest released games are." Sunny told him "Besides, we're using our bits to buy Sparky some necessary materials that he must need as a baby." She added.
"I know but, it's just a forty bits game, plus, new games always sell out very quickly in game stores so can I have that game please. Its currently the most trending game ever in Maretime Bay, Bridlewood, and Zephyr Heights." Chase pleaded in a polite tone again. "Besides, you two haven't bought me anything recently." He told them.
Sunny and Hitch both thought about this for a second. Then, Hitch came to a conclusion.
"We'll buy it for you on your birthday."
"But dad, my birthday is five months away. The game would be-"
"Until your birthday." Hitch repeated sternly.
Chase sighed and said "Yes father."
"Good." Hitch said with a satisfied expression before taking off upstairs with his wife Sunny to meet up with their friends for a meeting before buying the necessary tools for Sparky.
At this rate, Chase let out a sigh before rocking Sparky in his hooves, making him giggle in the process. At least Sparky here is always very nice and compliant just like his dog friend Ryder.
"I don't understand, it's just one game. Why can't they buy it for me today?" Chase asked with a sad expression. Then suddenly, the young colt got thirsty. "I need some water." He said as he placed Sparky in a baby high chair before going to the kitchen to grab a drink of water. "Stay put Sparky, I'll be right back." He told him as he gently patted his head.
While sitting on the baby high chair, Sparky looked in front of him to see a very interesting book in front of him which is a book about mathematics. The young dragon attempted to reach out for it with his right claw, but suddenly, the the high chair fell to the floor due to Sparky moving to much. The dragon ended up hitting his head and began to cry.
"Oh no!" Chase exclaimed in shock as he put his cup near the sink and running towards the young dragon. When he got to him, he began to rock him in order to ease his pain. "Please. Please don't cry buddy." He begged but, Sparky continued to cry due to his injury.
"Chase! What happened?!"
The young colt flinched from the sound and looked up to see his parents and aunts Zipp, Pipp, and Izzy walking down the stairs towards him. When Sunny and Hitch made it to Chase, Hitch snatched Sparky away from his son and scrutinized the dragon and saw that he had an injury on his head. The stallion then glared at his son.
"What happened?!" Hitch yelled demanding an answer.
"Dad, it wasn't me, he just-"
"Don't lie to us!" Sunny exclaimed. Chase wanted to tell the truth to them again but then, Sunny has had enough. "Come here Chase!" She demanded.
Chase swallowed a lump before walking to his mother Sunny. When the young colt made it to his mother, she suddenly transformed into her alicorn form before levitating her son up in the air a few feet, holding his mane up in the process. After that, she began to spank him hard.
"Augh! Augh! Mommy! Please stop!" Chase cried but, his mother continued to spank him hard for his actions against Sparky. "Mommy! Please stop!" The young colt pleaded but, Sunny still did not stop and continued to spank her son hard.
After ten more spanks, Sunny ceased on her punishment against her son Chase and dropped him to the floor hard.
"Now go to your room mister unless you want to receive more spanking that you'll be unable to sit for three weeks!" Sunny exclaimed furiously pointing her son's bedroom door.
Chase only sniffled before charging towards his bedroom while bawling his eyes out. When he got to it, he pulled the door open and locked himself inside of his bedroom. Leaving Izzy, Pipp and Zipp feeling bad for their nephew.
In Chase's bedroom, the young colt was seen crying into his pillow on his bed with a very sore flank after receiving those spanking from his mother, he was now definitely grounded for at least a month meaning that he cannot play sports with Bright, play videogames, or listen to music on his phone. While crying, Ryder was seen trying to console his best friend by nuzzling him but, it did not seem to work.
"Mommy and daddy love Sparky now! I'm just a useless son to them!" Chase cried.
Ryder was trying desperately to cheer him up by doing tricks or making cute noises but none of his tactics seem to work. Then suddenly, Chase immediately stopped crying and brought his head up from his tears stained pillow which made the goldendoodle puppy nonplussed at how quickly Chase ceased on crying.
Chase then turned his body around and looked out the windows of his room before letting out a sigh. After that, he looked down at Ryder.
"It's better if I just get out of their lives Ryder." Chase told him with a depressed expression which made Ryder let out a shocked bark. "No buddy you don't understand. They think that I maimed Sparky when he inadvertently tripped himself over his high chair which I don't blame him for, thus meaning that my parents would never forgive me and think of me as a disgrace of a son! It's just better for them this way if I leave, they'll be happier with Sparky instead of having a monster of a son." He finished as tears streamed down his cheeks.
Ryder wanted to nuzzle Chase but suddenly, the young colt got off of his bed and walked to his bedroom window. He then opened it and climbed on top of it. Before departing, Chase turned his head around and looked at Ryder once more who stared at him with a depressed expression.
"Ryder, it was good to have you both as a pet and a friend. You're definitely the greatest dog that my mom and dad gave to me. Please promise me that you'll take care of my family and other best friend Bright while I'm gone." Chase told him. After that, the young colt looked back in front of him before jumping down from the window to the ground. When Chase landed on the grass, he grunted but was okay, he then pushed himself back up and ran through the cold breeze of the night away from his parents.
In the mane five's bedroom, Sunny and Hitch were seen patching up Sparky's wound that Chase inflicted on him probably because of his envy that he stole all of the love from him. After a second of magical spells, the wound on Sparky dissipated and he was healed.
"There we go." Sunny said with a relieved expression as she and her husband Hitch nuzzled the young dragon again.
"Uh Sunny, Hitch, don't you think that you two should apologize to Chase?" Zipp told them.
"Why? He was the one who maimed Sparky meaning that he deserved those spanking and grounding." Sunny told them with an angry expression.
"Yeah but, you two did also do something wrong." Pipp told them.
"What did we even do wrong?" Hitch asked.
"Well, ever since you and Sunny brought Sparky over to our house, you two have been doing nothing but feeding him and disregarding your first son Chase." Izzy told them, and Sunny and Hitch's eyes widened when they heard the veracious statement. "He hardly got to eat anything but a cereal bowl with a little bit of milk no thanks to you two due to him having to need to buy them himself with his saved up bits!" She scolded.
"And when Chase wanted to get your attentions with his successful term at school again. You two disregarded him as if it was like trash!" Zipp scolded tossing Chase's school report card in front of them. Hitch catches the report card and flipped it open to see that his son has scored all straight A pluses once again.
"Sunny, you ignored Chase when he needed you, and wanted to hug you, as well as trying to make you contented when he helped do your chores. And Hitch, you refused to buy him the cheap videogame that he wanted and demanded him to wait until his birthday to buy it with you two, now, the games stores in Maretime Bay, Bridlewood, and Zephyr Heights all sold out the Pony Kart advanced game!" Pipp scolded angrily.
"You two are just very bad parents!" Zipp exclaimed. "You didn't even ask him what happened in the kitchen Sunny, and you immediately resorted into spanking and grounding him!" She finished with an infuriated expression.
Sunny and Hitch took a second to acknowledge their friends scolding before Sunny began to shed a tear from her not realising that she neglected her own biological, loving and hard working son Chase Trailblazer. Hitch shed a tear of sadness too when he realised all of those times when Chase needed their love but, they neglected him.
"What have we done?" Sunny asked. She felt ashamed of herself for disregarding Chase like that along with her husband Hitch.
"We must make it up to him." Hitch said. Sunny nodded and she, her husband, and friends all began to make their way to Chase's bedroom to apologize to him.
When the mane five and Sparky all made it to Chase's bedroom, Sunny raised her left hoof and knocked on the door.
*Knock! Knock! Knock!*
"Chasey baby?" Sunny called. But, she had so response.
"Son, we're here to apologize to you." Hitch called out to him but, he also did not get a response.
Sunny then pushed rhe door open and looked in front of her to see that Chase was not in his bed. She scrutinized the entire room and noticed that her son was nowhere to be found.
"Huh?! Chase?!" Sunny called out, but, she had no response.
Then, the mane five and Sparky all heard angry barking noises. They all looked in front of them to see Ryder barking viciously at them with an angry expression as if he despises them or something.
"Ryder, have you seen our son?" Hitch asked on a concerned tone but, Ryder only continued to bark angrily at both Sunny and Hitch.
"Guys look!" Izzy said pointing to somewhere.
The ponies all looked to where Izzy was pointing at and saw an opened window . Sunny ran to the window and looked out at it, she must assume that Chase jumped down from the window and ran away from home.
"Chase! Baby! Where are you?!" Sunny cried out for her son while in tears but, it was too late Chase has already ran away.
On a dirt track, Chase was seen running away from home as fast as he could before his parents, little brother Sparky, aunts, and best friend Ryder could catch up to him and find him. This was possibly the most regretful decision that he has ever made but, it was for the best since he would not be a nuisance to his parents anymore. Thus, they would be more happier with Sparky.
"Keep running Chase, don't look back!" He told himself while in tears as he ran through the cold breeze.
After running for five more minutes, the young colt stopped in his tracks and began to take a long breather from all of that running he had went through. A brief second later, he wiped his tears and looked around his surroundings to see that he was currently in a location that he was not familiar with, in fact, he does not have the scarf that his mother Sunny sewed for him anymore.
"W-where am I?" Chase asked in an edgy tone as he scrutinized his surroundings all to see trees, rocks, grass, and dirt all around him but, no signs of civilisation anywhere.
Then, Chase heard the sounds of wolf barking in the distance in the woods which made him take some steps backwards in agitation, why would there be carnivores near here anyways?!
"I'm so petrified right now." Chase said while shivering in the cold.
Suddenly, the young colt was not looking around his surroundings properly and he fell of a ledge.
"Ahhhh!" Chase yelled as he splashed into the cold freezing water. The young colt swam up and tried his best to swim up the surface but to no avail as a huge tidal wave engulfed him. Further sinking him into the cold depths of the water. Chase tried desperately to swim back up to the surface but unfortunately, the young colt lost his energy and consciousness and began to get swept away by the waves.
On a dirt track, Sunny, Hitch, Sparky, Ryder, Izzy, Zipp, and Pipp were all seen desperately looking for Chase Trailblazer and bring him back home. They yelled don't for his name but, to no avail. Sunny looked in front of her to see something on the dirt track.
"What is that?" Sunny asked as she ran to the object. When she got to it, she scrutinized rhe object for a brief second to see that the object was the scarf that she sewed for him. The sight has made Sunny shed some tears, kneel on the ground and pick up the scarf in her hooves. She then looked up and screamed to the clouds. "CHASEY! COME BACK TO MOMMY PLEASE!" She yelled while in tears.
Hitch walked up to his wife Sunny and embraced her in a loving hug while he was in tears too crying desperately for their son Chase to come back to them.
