As Discord stood in front of Fluttershy's cottage, he was really nervous.
Now, why would he be nervous? He was never usually nervous. He was Discord, after all.
Well, he was about to take Fluttershy on a date, like an actual romantic date. Though they were already a couple for about six weeks now, the two had never went on a proper date before, so his pals Spike and Big Mac helped him ask her out for dinner tonight. She accepted and now he was standing out her cottage ready to take her out, wringing his tail in between his hands.
He knocked on her door with his paw and her angelic voice called out, "If that's you, Discord, come in."
Discord took a deep breath to try and calm his nerves before he entered her house by literally walking through the door, thankfully without breaking the door.
Angel looked up from the couch he was resting on and glared at the dressed up draconequus now standing in the living room. Just cause he was now Fluttershy's mate didn't mean the lagomorph suddenly liked him.
"I'll be down in just a minute." She called out from upstairs. This gave him the opportunity to mess with his iridescent dark blue bowtie, making it crooked. Don't want another incident where he nearly fades from existence by being too orderly.
The sound of hooves came down the stairs, causing him to turn around and his eyes to widen at her appearance.
He always thought she was naturally beautiful and thus didn't need makeup or fancy dresses to catch his attention, but he couldn't take his eyes off her. She wore a gorgeous sparkling forest green dress with a v-neckline, while the back was exposed which allowed her wings some extra room to move. A gold vine pattern was on the hem of the dress and her glossy lips were the same shade of red as Discord's pupils.
Tiny sparkly silver shoes were on her back hooves and her lovely locks were held by a thin periwinkle scrunchie, causing it to cascade down like a flowing river.
She was, to put simply, stunning!
Fluttershy looked up and smiled up at him, "Hi, Discord."
Discord swallowed the lump in his throat and said "O-oh, hi Fluttershy. You...uh...look really beautiful," remembering the advice Spike and Big Mac gave him for giving her compliments.
Fluttershy blushed as she looked away, trying to hide in her mane. "Really? This i-isn't too much?"
Discord replied, "No, not at all."
Fluttershy looked up at him and smiled while her blush increased once she took in his appearance. In addition to his bowtie, he wore a black waistcoat with a blue rose lapel and a dark red dress shirt underneath. "You look really handsome as well, Discord." She said.
Discord smirked slightly as his ego took over his nervousness, "Well, of course. I am a gorgeous specimen after all and you are rather lucky that you're dating such a handsome creature."
Fluttershy giggled before flying up and hooking her foreleg with his paw.
"So, are we going?" She asked. Discord nodded before snapping his talon and teleporting them to their destination.
The rabbit rolled his eyes before falling back on the couch to sleep.
The two of them teleported to a restaurant in Canterlot. The draconequus took the moment to open the door for her, which she smiled at him for, before the two walked up to the podium.
Behind it was a griffon with an almond brown head and white markings under her hazel eyes with her fiery red head feathers held up in a loose bun. Her body looked like that of a snow leopard, and her wings were a darker grey to her body, with the base of her wings having rosettes like her body. She had a heart shaped beauty mark on her left cheek just below her eye. She wore a black hostess uniform with the sleeves rolled up slightly, revealing the underneath to be red.
She looked up towards them and smiled. "Do you two have a reservation?" She asked in a voice that sounded like velvet.
Discord nodded. "It should be under 'Discord'."
The hostess quickly checked the reservation book below her before nodding. "Of course." She grabbed a couple of menus near by with her claws before getting up and walking past it. "This way, please."
She led them over to their table near the back of the restaurant. Discord took the opportunity to pull out the chair for Fluttershy. She smiled as she sat down. After he pushed her seat in, Discord teleported into his seat. He laid his tail on the floor, so he could try and sit comfortably in a chair clearly designed for ponies. The griffon handed them their menus.
"Alright, your waiter should be with you soon." She walked off, her long fluffy tail swaying slightly. Shortly afterwards, an azure unicorn stallion came forward. His combed mane was as red as cherries and his eyes were a shining emerald green. He wore a black waiter's uniform. He smiled towards them.
"Hello, I'll be your server today. Can I get you two anything to drink to start with?" He asked, with a voice that they noted was slightly raspy.
But before Fluttershy could reply to his question, a tiny Discord appeared in the stallion's mane, which surprised their server, before leaning over and whispered something in his ear. The stallion's eyebrows raised before nodding and smiling.
Discord teleported back to full size in his seat as the stallion turned to him.
"Alright, I'll get that for you right away, sir." He said before walking off. Fluttershy turned towards Discord with a raised eyebrow.
"What did you order?" She asked. Discord simply gave her his classic smirk that secretly made her heart skip a beat. Knowing he wasn't going to say anything, she decided to go along with it and take a look at her menu.
The two of them read their menus for a little while before the stallion returned with a sparkling cider bottle chilled in ice and a pair of champagne glasses. Fluttershy's eyes widened as it was set down, recognizing the brand. She looked over towards Discord, who simply winked.
The stallion stood tall before asking, "Have you two decided what to order?"
Fluttershy blinked for a moment before turning to her menu. "I think we have. I'll have a light salad with blue cheese and no tomatoes and...can I get an order of sweet potato fries, please?"
The stallion nodded as he wrote her order down with a pen in his magical field. "Of course, ma'am. And for you, sir?" He turned towards Discord.
"Oh, I'll have a hayburger with everything on it, some stuffed mushrooms and an order of mozzarella sticks." Discord responded.
The stallion wrote his order down before putting the pen behind his ear. "Alright, your order should be here shortly."
Once he walked off, Discord grabbed the bottle and pulled his fang out, turning it into a bottle opener and popped the cork off. He turned his fang back to normal and put it back in his mouth before using his magic to make a champagne glass float, sideways. Despite the awkward angle, he poured in the sparkling cider without any issues. He gave the glass to Fluttershy, who smiled in thanks. He poured in some into his own before putting the bottle back into the ice.
"Discord, seriously. Did you have to get this?" She asked, pointing to the cider bottle. "Rarity told me this brand is usually pretty expensive."
Discord simply chuckled. "Please, Shyfly. You know money is no object to me." He proved his point by snapping his paw and turned his body into gold, with his head being silver and his eyes became two different kinds of gemstones.
He turned himself back to normal (well, his normal) before continuing, "Besides, you only deserve the best, my dear. Like an empress."
In a flash of light, Fluttershy's outfit was changed to a black robe while a gold crown littered with numerous red and green gems sat on her head. She looked at herself before giggling. Discord snapped his paw and her outfit was returned to normal.
Fluttershy looked up towards him as he extended his glass towards her and exclaimed, "Cheers to the most beautiful mare in Equestria."
Fluttershy's muzzle flushed a bright red before she decided to play along, tapping his glass with her own. "And cheers to the most handsome draconequus in the world."
Discord's cheeks turned pink themselves as he chuckled. The two of them then took a sip of their cider.
Later on, after their food arrived, Fluttershy was laughing at one of Discord's stories. Sure, some creatures were staring at them weirdly, but Discord was far more concerned about making this date perfect for her. And he seemed to be succeeding.
"Oh my, Discord," she said while she was laughing, "you didn't actually do that, did you?"
Discord smirked and said, "Oh, I did. Celestia's mane smelled like cotton candy for weeks. She was mad, but good old Luna found it funny at least."
Fluttershy laughed even more. If there was one thing Fluttershy loved about the draconequus, he always knew how to make her laugh. Fluttershy stopped laughing before turning towards him with those big doll eyes of hers. "I'm really glad you asked me out, Discord."
He raised his eyebrow as he asked in a surprised tone, "Really?"
Fluttershy replied, "Of course." She reached out and laid her hoof over his paw. She gave him a wide smile, batting her luscious lashes towards him. He smiled back as he turned his paw over and held her hoof, staring into her teal eyes with his golden and red ones. Despite how big his paw was compared to her hoof, he was surprisingly gentle as his fingers curled over her hoof. She moved forward even more as did he. They seemed to be unaware of what they were doing, almost as if they were being pulled by some unknown force.
But just before their lips touched, the moment was ruined when they heard a scoff. They pulled back and Fluttershy looked behind her to see two rich looking unicorns.
The mare was as white as snow with a curly blonde mane draping down her shoulder and purple eyes, while she wore a black cocktail dress and a sky blue pearl necklace, her eyeshadow matching the necklace in color, while the stallion was dark grey, with his silver mane streaked with white stripes parted to the right and dark chocolate colored eyes and wore a dark brown tuxedo and a black tie.
The scoff came from the mare as she looked at them with a look of disgust. The mare leaned over to her husband and 'whispered' to him.
"Sweet Celestia, either that mare has poor tastes or she's just giving him a pity date. Because no rational mare would ever date that thing," she said, pointing towards Discord with disdain. Her husband nodded at her statement.
Fluttershy's eyes narrowed and her teeth gritted. How dare that mare insult her and her coltfriend!
Discord had heard and simply rolled his eyes, but before he could retaliate with a smart aleck comment, Fluttershy leaned forward, grabbed his beard and kissed him dead on his lips.
He stared wide-eyed at her, surprised by her assertiveness. It wasn't normally like her to make such a public display of affection. And that completely ignored the fact that this was their first kiss that wasn't just a peck on the cheek. His entire body turned red in surprise, including his antler and horn. The unicorn couple simply stared at them in surprise.
Fluttershy broke the kiss, leaving a red mark on the still dazed draconequus' lips, before she turned back to the couple, glaring at them.
"Anything else to say?" She asked menacingly. The unicorn couple quickly went quiet and turned to their own dinner.
Fluttershy took a deep breath to calm herself from her anger and turned towards Discord, who was just now recovering from the surprise kiss and was looking at her with a raised eyebrow.
"Um, sorry about that. I didn't mean to surprise you like that, but I wanted them, and anyone else who questions it, to know that I really do like you." She said shyly, suddenly ashamed of her actions.
Discord blinked before smirking widely and pecking her lips, causing her to squeak in surprise. He chuckled as his smirk changed into a more sincere smile. Fluttershy smiled back at him, her cheeks now the same shade as her mane and the two of them returned to eating.
After dinner, Discord took Fluttershy to a hidden garden and the two of them went strolling, Discord holding her hoof with his talon as she flew next to him.
This particular garden was special, as it had flowers that only bloomed at night during the spring. Fluttershy took in the wondrous flowers and stopped to smell many of them.
The look of bliss on his marefriend's face was the most beautiful sight Discord has ever seen in his long life.
He eventually led her to a stone bench and they sat down.
"This place is beautiful, Cordy." The draconequus' cheeks burned slightly at Fluttershy's nickname for him. "Thank you for bringing me here."
Her smile was wider than he had ever seen it and it fitted her perfectly. He always wanted to be the cause of her happiness rather than her destress.
He then remembered the reason he brought her here.
"Hey, Fluttershy?" He asked somewhat nervously. She turned towards him.
"Yes?" She asked innocently.
He gulped as he scratched the back of his head. "I, uh, got you something. It's nothing much, but I felt the need to give you something special."
"Oh, Discord. You didn't need to get me anything."
"Maybe not, but it's as I said earlier. You deserve the best." He replied. He reached into a pocket in his waistcoat, revealing an absolutely gorgeous bluebell barrette.
Fluttershy held a hoof against her mouth as she saw it.
"Cordy..." She could hardly speak. It was just so pretty!
Discord shuffled the barrette in his hands as he spoke. "I figured I'd make you something to show how much I love you. I normally wouldn't fuss making something like this without magic, but you're worth the effort."
Fluttershy's eyes widened. "You made this...without magic?"
Discord smirked slightly. "Yes, I did. I'm a draconequus of many talents, aren't I? Besides, I figured you might appreciate it more if I didn't just do it the easy way and snap my fingers." He gestured to her mane as he asked, "May I?"
At her nod, Discord's tail reached over and, like an extra hand, his tail tuft grabbed the scrunchie holding her long tresses and pulled it out before holding her mane in a ponytail with his magic and clipped the barrette in.
He summoned a miniature wall mirror, grabbed it with both hands and showed her how she looked, Fluttershy smiling widely at her reflection.
"It's so pretty. I'll wear it all the time. Thank you, Cordy." She looked over towards her special draconequus and smiled widely. He smiled back as he dismissed the mirror.
She laid her hoof over his paw and the two leaned in like before. But this time, no one was around to interrupt them and their lips met for their first proper kiss.
Fluttershy's lips past the lip gloss were sweet, but not like sugar. More like fresh wildflowers, which made sense to him due to her love and connection with nature. Discord's, meanwhile, did in fact taste like sugar, namely cotton candy. They both smiled against each other's lips.
Their lips pulled away with a gentle 'pop' as their eyes opened and they stared into each other's eyes.
The moon shined above them as they leaned in for another kiss, a shooting star streaking across the sky as their lips met again.

I'm back!! Had a bit of writers block, but now I'm reinvigorated. 
I have a couple of chapters of Family of Chaos I've been trying to write, but I have no idea how to continue them organically, so I took a break from writing.
And yes, this is the origin of Fluttershy's bluebell from the finale.
