Maretime Bay 10:00am

It is a sunny day in Maretime Bay aka home of the earth ponies, the earth ponies, unicorns, and pegasus of the town were all seen opening shops, building pathways, decorating buildings and many more in their beautiful coastal city. The reason behind this is due to today being Maretime Bay day which is the holiday established specifically by earth ponies before the reunification of all pony species.

In the Crystal brighthouse located on a hill, two ponies Sunny Starscout and her son Chase Trailblazer were both seen staring at each other with determined expressions due to them having to have challenged one another to a friendly competition during Maretime Bay day which would take place exactly where Hitch is.

"I'm gonna be the best bunny herder you have ever seen mommy! I'm gonna herd all of those bunnies on my side of the fence very rapidly that you won't see where I'm going." Chase told her with a determined expression.

"Oh ho ho, I doubt that that's ever going to happen my sweet baby colt Chase Trailblazer because, I'm an adult and you're a foal meaning that I'm more faster and smarter compared to you are." Sunny told him despite her not being interested in sports like Chase is, and not getting that much good grades back in school when she was a little filly unlike her son Chase who always scores all A pluses in his exams but, he never acts like he's above others.

"Oh really? Well, if you lose the game, don't visit me for a therapy session due to your traumatising defeat because of my psychology science skills that I enjoy a lot at school." Chase told her. "And I would counsel you in not crying your eyes out when you lose." He finished which made her giggle.

"Oh we'll see about that." Sunny said. "May the best win okay?" She asked.

"Indeed mommy." Chase said before hugging his mother Sunny in a loving way, and Sunny hugged her son back in a loving way to in a way to express a mother's love for their children.

Ten seconds later, both Chase and Sunny released each other from their loving hug before chuckling.

"Now come on baby, let's head over to Maretime Bay now." Sunny cooed. "I bet that your dad, and aunts are already there waiting for us." She told him.

"You got it mommy." Chase told her with a nod as he grabbed his cross body bag which had his water bottle and sunscreen in it. He then wore it over his body and walked to the front doors of the Crystal brighthouse with his mother Sunny Starscout. Once both ponies got to the front doors, the apricot mare pulled the doors opened and exited their house with Chase next to her, then, she closed the door afterwards. After that, both mother and son took off to Maretime Bay.

In the bunny herding area of Maretime Bay, sheriff Hitch Trailblazer was seen waiting patiently for his wife Sunny and his successful, kind, smart, hard-working and generous son Chase Trailblazer for their friendly competition that they challenged one another against along with Izzy, Zipp, and Pipp as well as a crowd of ponies which included reporters.

"I wonder who will win in this competition?" Izzy asked.

"I don't know but, I lean more on Chase." Zipp told her.

"We'll see when they arrive." Pipp told them.

"Ah speaking of which, here they come." Hitch said taking notice of his wife Sunny and son Chase crossing a bridge and walking towards them. "Hello Sunny-bunny." He greeted his wife lovingly.

"Hello Hitchy." Sunny cooed kissing her husband in the lips.

"Gah! Not in front of your seven years old son you two!" Izzy exclaimed shielding Chase's eyes with her left hoof.

A brief second later, Hitch and Sunny both broke their kiss and chuckled with Chase walking to his dad and hugging him, and he hugged back.

"You ready for this competition champ?"

"Of course I am dad." Chase replied with a nod. "I'm ready to win as well." He told him with a confident expression.

"That's my little colt Chase." Hitch said in a proud tone. "The competition is going to instigate very soon so, you tow should enter the stand." He informed them.

Both Sunny and Chase nodded in unison before going through the stand doors and onto the dirt field area where a ground of bunnies were grouped up in. Chase then walked to his fence goal area on his left, while Sunny walked to her's on her right. After that, both contestants stared at each other with determined expressions. Once that was done, Hitch began to state the rules of this game.

"Alright you two listen up, this is my bunny herding minigame of Maretime Bay day, the goal of this game is to herd as many bunnies as you can to your side of the fences, the winner will be determined by who has the most bunnies on each other individual's fences." Hitch delineated the main points of the activity. "However, there are some obstacles emplaced in the area such as rough dirt that can slow you and the bunnies down, rabbid holes for the bunnies to escape through and go to the other side, qnd pumpkins that can be used by both ponies to block your paths." He added which nonplussed both Sunny and Chase.

"Wow, I can probably use those obstacles to disorient and block mommy." Chase said with confident in his tone. "It just requires patience, geometry, accurate measuring, and being tranquil and not overreacting." He told himself logically.

"Pfft, this is going be so simple." Sunny said with determination.

"Alright, you two have three hundred seconds to round up all of those rabbids in your fences, when the timer stops, the game is over understood?" Hitch asked them both.

"Got it!"

"Alright, three... two... one... start!" Hitch exclaimed starting timer on his phone.

When the timer rang, both Chase and Sunny ran into the centre where the bunnies are gathered upon and began to round them up. Once they made it to the centre, they both rounded up a huge amount of rabbids before turning around and getting them through their fences. After that, both Chase and Sunny looked at the score monitor on a table outside of the fence to check out who was in the lead.

Sunny: 12
Chase:10

"Oh crap, I gotta catch up and round up more bunnies to my side!" Chase said as he ran to the centre again where more bunnies came in from the other side.

"Oh no you don't!" Sunny said in a playful tone as she ran to the centre too.

Once both mother and son both made it to the centre, they rounded up some more bunnies again however, it was Sunny who accumulated more of them.

"Hahaha! Looks like I'm gonna win!"

Chase decided to stop in his tracks and figure out a plan in how to get those bunnies to him. The colt looked on the ground front of him and saw a rabbit hole on his mother Sunny's right side. A brief second later, a brilliant idea was formulated in his head.

"Oh I don't think so mother!" Chase exclaimed running towards her.

Sunny was now seen nearing the fence with a bunch of more bunnies she gathered.

"Hahaha! This game is mine!" Sunny exclaimed with a confident expression.

But, the apricot coloured mare spoke too soon when Chase blocked her path in front of her which caused her to stop in her tracks with a nonplussed expression. After that, the earth pony colt directed ten of the bunnies into the rabbid hole which caused them to all jump in there and come out on his side, leaving Sunny with two more.

"H-hey!"

"Hahaha! You should use your brain more often mother!" Chase exclaimed which made Sunny blush in embarrassment.

"Hahahaha! What the hay was that Sunny?" Hitch asked laughing along with Pipp, Izzy, and Zipp as well as a couple of other ponies. "You let our own son outsmart you?" He asked again which made Sunny roll her eyes in annoyance.

"Oh we'll see about that Hitchy!" Sunny exclaimed.

As Chase lead the bunnies to his side of the fence, they all jumped through. After that, the colt looked at the score monitor to see that he was currently six points ahead of his mother Sunny.

"Yes! I'm winning!" Chase exclaimed happily.

"I don't think so Chasey!" Sunny said with a determined smile. After that, more bunnies were gathered into the arena.

"Those are my bunnies!" Sunny said as she ran to the centre rapidly and rounded up a bunch of them which got her son off guard. After that, she turned around and ran to the fence. "I'm gonna catch up baby! You better watch out!" She exclaimed cheekily.

But unfortunately, the apricot coloured mare was not looking at where she was going and lead the rabbids into a rabbid hole on her side which caused many of them to jump into them and go on her son Chase's side, leaving only two with her once again.

"What the hay?! Why did you all jump through that hole?!"

"Thank you mommy for your generous contributions." Chase said as he lead the bunnies through his side of the fence. The exertion couldn't help but make the ponies watching the hysterical match to snicker.

"Hahaha, look at you Sunny, you watch too much TV and is never active unlike our son Chase." Hitch said.

"Yeah, you always eat too much pancakes." Pipp laughed.

"Oh be quiet and send in the other bunnies!"

The bunnies did what Sunny said and entered the arena again with two pumpkins coming along the way.

"The pumpkins are now emplaced in the arena folks." Hitch said.

Sunny and Chase both ran into the centre and rounded up more bunnies, after that, both mother and son ran to their sides of the fence to deposit the bunnies through them to earn points. Unfortunately, Sunny bumped into a pumpkins which stopped her and her bunnies tracks, while her son Chase managed to get the bunnies through his side.

"What the hay?! Stupid pumpkin! Out of my way!" Sunny exclaimed in vexation as she pushed the rolled the pumpkin out of the way. However, she heard the sound of her son Chase running to her.

"Wait no! No! No! Please don't take the bunnies away from me again!" Sunny pleaded in a fearful tone but, it was too late Chase rounded up the bunnies from her again and took them to his side of the fence, leaving Sunny with four more.

"Hahaha, you see everypony? Sunny is having a bad luck!" Hitch laughed along with the crowd. "My son Chase is winning and outsmarting her because he always studies, while Sunny always just sits on her butt on the couch and do nothing but watching TV and eating pancakes!" He finished which made Sunny roll her eyes in aggravation. After that, the next set of bunnies came in.

"Mine! Mine! Mine!" Chase exclaimed running to the centre of the arena again to gather up all of the bunnies which he did, after that, he began to bring them to the side of his fence.

"What the?! No! No! No!" Sunny exclaimed in fear, she needed to improvise and find a way to stop her son from scoring again. She looked in front of her to see another giant pumpkin in front of her. "This is the only solution!" She exclaimed running to the pumpkin and kicking it forward.

The pumpkin bounced off the fence like a pinball before blocking Chase's path. Sunny then took her opportunity and ran up to her son Chase, when she got to him, she stole the bunnies from him and deposited them all to her side.

"I'm sorry, I had to!"

"Why you little!"

"Ooh, this is getting even." Reporter Skye said.

"There's only hundred and seventy six seconds left to go!" Hitch informed.

Then, the next set of bunnies came in in a huge group. Sunny and Chase both ran to the centre again to gather up those bunnies again quickly this time since time is running out but, it was Sunny who accumulated more bunnies due to her reacting quicker first.

"Haha! Eat that Chase, I got more than you!" Sunny exclaimed in a determined tone as she lead the bunnies through her fence which made her score rise up.

"Okay, but still, I'll be the winner of this match loser." Chase told her which made Sunny's eyes widen and the ponies covering the muzzles while snickering.

"Hey champ, call your mommy a lazy mare!" Hitch said in a mocking tone.

"Oh right, a lazy mare." Chase said as he looked to the crowd of ponies including the reporters. "Everypony, my mommy is a lazy mare, too much spending her time watching TV and consuming nothing but unhealthy foods." Chase told them leaving Sunny standing there with her jaws wide open.

At this point everypony began to laugh at how hysterical the turn of events are, some even began to roll on the ground while holding their bellies in pain.

"Oh my." Zipp said while laughing.

"Yeah I know." Pipp said while holding her belly.

"I don't even know what to even say at this point." Hitch laughed while hitting the wooden table with his right hoof.

"Definitely." Izzy said while laughing.

"This sure is a funny turn of event between mother and son Skye." Reporter Dazzle said while laughing, her camerastallion couldn't hold his camera properly due to him laughing so hard.

After that, more rabbids came in and Chase ran to them.

"Oh no you don't!" Sunny exclaimed as she kicked the pumpkin towards Chase but unfortunately, it missed. "What the hay?! Why did you miss you stupid good for nothing pumpkin?!" She exclaimed with an indignantly expression.

"It's because Sunny the pumpkins adore and respect little foals and are more rougher with lazy mares like you." Hitch told her with a mocking expression then suddenly, the pumpkin rolled back to Sunny and knocked her over.

"Hahaha! Look at you!" Izzy laughed.

"You should've moved your lazy body out of the way Sunny!" Dazzle exclaimed while laughing.

"Grr." Sunny groaned in annoyance as she jumped back up. After that, she shot everypony an aggravated glare. "I can't believe every single one of you!" She shouted in anger which made everypony laugh in response.

"Only a hundred more seconds left and it looks like Sunny is way behind Chase!" Hitch informed everypony.

When Sunny heard this, she looked at the score monitor to realize that she is way behind her son Chase Trailblazer which made her eyes widen. She looked in front of her again to see her son rounding up all of those bunnies again which made her eyes widen in horror.

"Oh no! Oh no! Nooooooo pleaseeeeeee!" Sunny shouted in fear as she ran to the pumpkin again and kicked it towards Chase.

"Whoa!" Chase exclaimed in surprise as he jumped out of the way, landing in the gooey mud, the pumpkin also provoked the bunnies to jump into the rabbid hole on Chase's side and exit on her side of the fence.

"Come on! Get in there!" Sunny demanded as she rounded up all of the bunnies on her side, when she did, her score sky-rocketed again. "Phew, that was a close one." She said with a relieved expression.

"Why you." Chase said as he jumped out of the mud.

"This is the last group of bunnies." Hitch informed.

Chase and Sunny's eyes both widened when they heard this, they needed to end this now so, they both ran to the centre as quickly as they could to round up the last group of them all. The two ponies coincidentally have made it to the centre together and rounded half of the group together. After that, they both began to run to the fence rapidly before time runs out.

"Five, four, three, two, one, zero! Times up! Hitch exclaimed as the timer on his phone beeped.

Luckily, both Chase and Sunny managed to deliver the bunnies to their sides of the fences in the nick of time before time ran out, after that, both mother and son began to take a long breather due to them being quite exhausted from all of that running but, it was Sunny who was the most fatigued one out of them all.

"Let's check the score." Hitch said as he walked to the next table where the score monitor was placed on. When he did, he turned it around to check the score.

Sunny: 219
Chase: 219

Hitch was extremely nonplussed to see that both his wife Sunny and son Chase scored a draw with each other, this indicates that the two of them have won the minigame which proves how adroit and competitive the two are.

"Wow, mares and gentlecolts, in a shocking turn of events, both ponies have scored a draw against one another!" Hitch exclaimed

Both Chase and Sunny's eyes widened when they heard the result, they were pretty competitive and skilled when they gave it their best shots, then, the ponies all gave the two a round of applause.

"Can the two contestants come to the front of the gate please?" Hitch asked.

Both Sunny and Chase nodded and walked to the front gates of the herding area, when they did, they both opened the gates and exited the field. After that, reporter Dazzle walked to both Sunny and Chase along with her camerastallion to question the both, Chase was first.

"Chase Trailblazer, that was quite the match, what were your thoughts in scoring a draw with your mother?"

"To be honest Dazzle, it doesn't matter if I win or not, all that matters is having so much fun and bonding time with my awesome mommy!" Chase exclaimed with a smile which made Sunny touched.

"Aww, thank you so much Chase, lets shake hooves." She offered.

"Why should we shake hooves when we can hug each other mommy?" Chase asked as he hugged his mother gently, and Sunny hugged back. "Kiss to the cheek as well." He added as he pecked his mom on the right cheek which made her touched again.

"Awwwwwwwwwww." Cooed the crowd.

"Yeah, but Sunny, maybe you can perform better next year if you just do exercise a bit more instead of just sitting on your butt on the couch!" Hitch laughed which made Sunny look at her husband with a furious expression.

"Hey Chasey, wanna see something funny?" Sunny cooed and Chase laughed. "Good, I've invented a game called, your father gets a beating!" She exclaimed which made Hitch's eyes widen in fear.

Hitch tried to turn around and run away but unfortunately, he wasn't able to even make a step forward as his wife Sunny pounced on top of his back and began to put him in a hoof lock.

"Ahhhhh!" Hitch screamed in agony as he tapped the ground.

"Hahahahahahahaha!" Chase laughed along with some other ponies.
